Kathy was a perfect hostess, and her place will not disappoint you! Quiet and peaceful - loved listening to the waves from the lake, and loved the fresh air coming though the windows! Would definitely stay here again!!

The host was awesome & made our first BRB experience memorable & wanting us to come back. The private room was so cozy & pretty and the home was decorated well. It was awesome being able to sit on the porch & see the lake while having our morning coffee. There were little details set up around the common areas & they definatley made is cozy & special. The light breakfast was set up so cute for us Newlyweds. The local homemade jams were AMAZING! Brought home 4 jars. LOL. Kathy was great at answering any questions we had & gave us lots of recommendations as to where to visit & eat. Memorable honeymoon & can't wait to come back. Also, it was nice meeting Leo too. :-) Also, we enjoyed meeting the people next door at the general store. Delicious food & hand scooped ice cream. YUM!

Great historic home in an amazing Lake Superior spot and a host who could not have been better! Kathy really knows how to make her guests comfortable and we would rate this stay as one of the best of many stays over the past several years.

The breeze off the lake, the sound of the wind chime, sleeping with the windows open, it doesn't get much better then this!!! Eagle River was a perfect place to stay and visit the Keweenaw from. Kathy was the kindest of host. Thoughtful in every way from our luxurious comfy bed to being able to use the mini fridge and a lovely treat each morning. We had a wonderful time.

We stayed the night before a day of snowboarding at Mount Bohemia. The room/bathroom was exactly as pictured/listed. Kathy was quick to respond to my request for the room. She was a very kind and generous host. In the morning, she greeted us with coffee and a healthy breakfast before our day of riding. We also were delighted to meet her friendly cat and st. bernard!

This is a cool house!! You will have very nice view of the lake from the second floor bedroom. We love everything in this house, especially the gramophone!

Perfect place to have nice peaceful vacation with friends. Only problem is mobile network but if you have Verizon then you are good. View from the house is mesmerizing. It's near the Lake Superior and night view also looks awesomely beautiful from bed room. House is soooper clean and comfortable. The house is filled with antiques and some good stuffs. Many movie cds can help you entertain yourself. There is a fireplace in the house where you can have a borne fire.

This place was great! We ventured up to the UP for a weekend of skiing, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to accommodate us. Very clean, beautiful views, and a classic feel. We would definitely stay here again.

Good house with great view

Jan was a wonderful host for her crestview cabin. It was perfect size for 2 people. My husband & I wanted to get away for our anniversary & this was perfect. The neighborhood was very quiet & just peaceful all around. You're a couple blocks from the Lake Superior & drives away from fun things to do in different towns. If you're looking for a quiet peaceful place to stay then please stay at Jans.

Thanks Jan! The cabin couldn't have been more charming--beautiful and clean, great amenities, and a lovely view over Lake Superior where we could enjoy an evening fire. To top it off it was in the perfect position to enjoy the Keweenaw.

We ended up staying in the Big House property as storms had postponed some routine work to be done at the cabin. Jan was very wonderful and upgraded our stay without a hitch! She left beautiful flowers and a wonderful treat for us when we arrived. She was available to show us where things were and was so friendly and inviting. We were able to drive our ATV right from the property and onto the trails. Found some great local places to stop. Loved being able to walk outside and enjoy the lake view. Warm and inviting home. We loved our stay! Hope to return in the future.

Jan's cabin was absolutely gorgeous. Very spacious and cozy. The Fitz restaurant is only about 200 ft from the place, walking distance, and the food is amazing there. She was very responsive and a great host. We are definitely coming back for another stay.

The cabin is adorable and stocked with everything you would need. It was super clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location is great with a lakeside restaurant and bar an easy walk down the street and beautiful views of the lake from the property. I hope to stay again in the future!

I would highly recommend a stay at this cozy cabin! It is the best of both worlds with all the character you would expect from a log cabin with the creature comforts and cleanliness of luxury accommodations! The location is great, nestled in Eagle River - the sweetest little town on the Keweenah Penninsula! It is just a minute walk down to the rocky beach of Lake Superior and a great restaurant ("Fitzgerald's") that is perfect for a sunset dinner, as well as being easy driving distance of all the best Keweenah adventure and site-seeing spots! Jan was in touch prior to our stay to ensure we had all the information we needed and upon arrival she left us a sweet "Yooper" surprise along with recommendations for activities and site-seeing opportunities on the Peninsula! Wonderful private lakefront house! The owners are the best! Just minutes from Eagle River (go to Fitzgerald's for dinner, you need a reservation) and perfect for our family to relax and enjoy the UP. Thimbleberry, wild blueberry and raspberry picking was great! Tour the mines, museums, towns and shops, hiking trails and waterfalls. The perfect place for a perfect UP getaway!

Some info on listing is inaccurate- there's no beach access for example. The lake washed the beach away in big storms, which is not their fault, but the listing should be updated. It's a beautiful setting, huge windows looking out onto the lake. The outside needs work, won't go into detail. Host got back to us right away when inquiring about a key and wifi password. House needs some repair and TLC, perhaps it hasn't been rented before. Lots of personal things in upstairs room that we were supposed to have access to...But great location. Did lots of hiking in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

The house and the views were stunning. The beach area changes day to day due to Lake Superior. There was a small beach area in front of the house the first two days of our visit and then the lake took away the beach and left rocks. We had no issue with being able to access the lake, as the kids just climbed down the rocks. There is so much to see in do on the peninsula that we never found a reason to venture further. The owners were very responsive to questions or concerns and very nice. Thank you!

This is a great central location for exploring areas from Houghton to Copper Harbor. It is great for families. The house is close to Jampot, Eagle Harbor Lighthouse, area mines and mountains.

Yes the beach right in front of the house has washed away but don't let that worry you! The views are gorgeous and the setting is wonderful and serene! You have plenty of easy access to the water in other places. Peter was wonderful about answering any questions. He answered email within 30 minutes. Lots of wildlife, waterfall and trails nearby. The lookout point in Brockway Mounta

It was a great cabin! A little hard to find in the dark, but GPS brought us pretty close!! Definitely a great weekend getaway. Being able to enjoy it with our pups was an even better bonus! Even though the weather was rainy and cold, it was a great trip!

A lovely secluded little breath of fresh air is what this cabin gave my partner and I for a weekend. We loved the little touches such as a bag of Trenary Toast, bananas, and even a little guestbook! It really helped us with sightseeing that an array of brochures and magazines was set up on the dining room table. The kitchen also had everything we needed and then some. We would definitely recommend this little cabin to anyone.

This is a great little cabin that is centrally-located for many attractions in the Keweenaw Peninsula. It had all the amenities needed for a fun family vacation. There was beach access via the house in front of the cabin, and neighboring cabins. Other swimming spots are just a few minutes car ride away. Host is very quick with communication, and everyone was very friendly throughout the experience. We had a great time!

What an amazing place! We had bad weather, but that didn't keep us away from the beach and Lake Superior! We brought our dog and she loved the cottage and the beach! The cottage is so clean and the bed was super comfy! Everything you need is in the cabin. The host were so helpful and kind. Peter replied right away whenever we had a question. We met Karen and her husband when they arrived at the cottage to clean it on our last day. What sweet and genuine people.

The location is convenient to get to copper harbor, brockway, eagle harbor, etc. I'd consider this a great value as a home base for a family. Not somewhere you'd spend the full days but a great place to sleep, stop in to reset, cook, etc.

Boar's Head is a great place to get away from the hectic pace of everyday life. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing. Also clean and well kept. Nora was a great friendly host ready to answer any questions and ensure our stay was a pleasant one. We did not get to meet Tom but have no doubt he's just as friendly as his wife. We will definitely return to explore more of the Keweenaw.

My wife and I found this listing when it was a fairly new listing, at the beginning of planning our anniversary trip. We just had to stay here! Our trip was originally planned for the middle of June, but we had some issues arise with the timing and had to reschedule. We gave a brief explanation, and the re-booking happened with ease. Upon arrival we were informed to let ourselves in and make ourselves at home. The cabin was exactly what we were hoping for. We had previously questioned whether or not there was a grill on the property, and were informed that there was not. We brought a small table top grill with us, but it wasn't needed. Due to quite a few inquiries about a grill, Brad and Karyn had purchased one for the cabin. The beaches the first night /day of our stay were swarmed with stable flies and Karyn was so embarrassed and kept apologizing. She introduced us to the "Yooper Wave". We honestly had minimal interaction with our hosts, our trip and stay were meant for us. Yet any questions we had they were very accommodating. I would have brief chats with Brad and never felt like I was a bother. Our second night we were able to walk down to the beach. We sat on some driftwood and watched an amazing Superior Sunset. We even had some visitors join us (deer). Our time in the Keweenaw was mostly spent off property, and on our last day there returned back to the cabin noticing a plate of cookies and banana bread. Overall our stay with Brad, Karyn and cutie pie Jack (as my wife called him) was PERFECT! She's already planning next years trip!

We were so comfortable, we felt like we were at home while at Brad's house. Clean, high quality, perfect amount of space for my husband and I on a weekend away. Stunning views. So glad we utilized the kitchen to cook meals rather than relying on driving to restaurants (in February with icy roads)! We may come back for another visit! Brad was quick to respond to questions and with recommendations - very welcoming and hospitable!

A super quiet, secluded spot with terrific windows for gazing at Lake Superior. We lazed about, reading, napping, watching the ice waves for a whole Saturday and didn't even step outside.

This garage apartment is lovely! The owners were not home the weekend we stayed, but everything we needed was there, it was very clean and we really appreciated the use of the washer/dryer.

Being the first time using Airbnb I can say that we were thoroughly impressed! Karyn and Brad's place is clean and quiet, and tucked away in the woods next to their awesome home they designed themselves. We even made friends with their retired sled dog named Torch. The reason why we ended up here was to go skiing at Mount Bohemia for a long weekend. I would happily stay here again!

We were arriving after dark, called host to get directions we could use at night. Worked perfect. We drove back about a mile off the main road, on very well maintained hard access road, to the cottage in the woods and on the shores of the great Lake Superior. Our host had left enough outside and inside lighting on so we could easily unload and gain access to the cottage. WOW! What a beautiful place. Everything we needed to spend the next five days and nights was there. In the morning we woke the most beautiful view of Lake Superior. You can step out on the deck and hear the waves crashing on the shore just 50 yards away. This was such a quiet and peaceful place to spend time. We definitely will return.

This place is as beautiful and clean and cozy and private as everyone says! It has high ceilings, great windows viewing the lake, and the place is well stocked for cooking, DVD movie watching. We listened to the waves for days, as the wind was up. We walked out the door and were able to XC ski to an awesome nature conservancy nearby (at end of road) and its beach. We also found a trail through the woods and skied first tracks after a big snow. Karyn checked in with us just enough to see if we had everything we needed, and she even brought us her fresh honey. There is very spotty Verizon cell service and little to no satellite cell service, but we loved that isolation. We visited Calumet (great Rosetta's coffee shop and lunch) and Copper Harbor. We hope to return in summer. The locals are great, very friendly - we LOVE the UP!

Betsi was great! We had a very busy trip without much downtime but every moment in Laughing Moon Cottage we felt relaxed and well taken care of. She was flexible with our schedule and even accommodated our dietary restrictions, making us a hearty breakfast that kept us going! The cottage is adorable and the town is great. Would definitely recommend anyone visiting the UP to stay with Betsi!

Besti is the sweetest most welcoming person with a cute home she calls the laughing moon, made us feel at home right away! What a great host, cooked us yummy breakfast each day and showed us trail maps for hiking and biking. We loved our stay with betsi! Will be back sometime for a longer visit.

Betsi is centrally location between Houghton and Copper Harbor, which gives you quick access to visit all of the attractions that Keweenaw has to offer, but you get the small-town feel which provides a nice, relaxing environment to vacation and great beach access (just down the road!). Betsi provides phenomenal breakfasts with a great variety to start your day off right. Betsi has lived in the UP for many years, so she is able to provide a multitude of helpful, insider tips and tricks. She will help direct you to many great places to visit, explore and eat. She is easily accessible if you need ANYTHING at all. We loved staying with Betsi and we would not hesitate to stay with her again.

Betsi is so sweet! She was very welcoming and answered all of our questions. We only really slept at the house because we were out exploring all day. I love love love the area. I think Eagle River is perfectly located. We watched the stars at night at the beach and I even fell asleep by the bonfire on the beach one night. Betsi's breakfast was out of this world. I have dietary restrictions and she fully accommodated me. Would definitely stay again.

We had a delightful time staying with Betsi! Amazing filling breakfast and her darling home made us feel like one of the family! She provided places to see of interest and also had a booklet printed up that we were able to read about the activities and directions to get to these fun places. Also she served some of the best coffee I have had in ages. Betsi was a perfect host that made you feel welcome immediately.

Great place to stay! The home was just as described, host was easy to work with, let us change our reservation when our plans changed last minute. The home itself worked great for us, we were up for a ski trip to Mount Bohemia. The house is less than 30 minutes from the ski hill. Plenty of room to spread out, I used the extra large downstairs bedroom with bathroom and my high school son (and his three friends) used the kid friendly upstairs extra large bedroom, they had a ball, plenty of movies to prevent boredom. There were still two more bedrooms that went unused. The home is charming, rustic and spacious, perfect for our group, or any large group. It is older, just as you would expect, but very clean. The kitchen was very well equipped, not many places to go out when we were there in the winter, so we cooked all our meals in...it worked great. Wonderful home, great host, would use again in a heartbeat...and plan to on our next ski trip Thanks!!

We had a fantastic stay in Eagle Harbor! The house was conveniently located across from the beach, yet on the main road to access many points of interest. The house was large and well outfitted with beds, linens, kitchen utensils and appliances, some games and books, enough for a large family. The house was clean with vintage charm! The host was very thorough with directions and house instructions and gave us excellent suggestions for where to eat, explore and relax! I would love to go back and stay there again!

Fantastic location in the cutest little town- steps to the Beach and Eagle Harbor Lighthouse. House has comfortable spaces for larger groups and plenty of towels and linens. Kitchen has all basic needs for cooking for a group as well. Upstairs was great for the younger crew! We will definitely be returning as we have family in town.

Good value for the area! Quiet neighborhood. Easy communication with Adam and the location wasn't far from shops, food, and parks (15-20 minutes away from Calumet 20-25 minutes away from Houghton). Overall we had a nice stay!

Perfect location, quiet neighborhood. Tidy and cute inside. Yes, the outside is scary but Adam just had a new roof put on and was getting siding priced while we were there. If it's available next summer, we would consider it again in a heartbeat.

The host was very welcoming when we arrived to the apartment. The apartment was very clean and had all the necessary amenities. The art inside the apartment is definitely a plus .The neighborhood was so beautiful in the morning with the quiet morning sunlight coming in and and nice park opposite the apartment gave us the opportunity to enjoy the walks. The Ahmeek Streetcar Station worked out pretty well. Host was super responsive to question over texts. Kids liked the ice cream shop. And the flat was clean, very well laid out and newly renovated. The amenities (TV, DVDs, WiFi, etc.) in the flat were perfect on the rainy days. The size was perfect for our family of 6. It is about 25-30 minutes from the Michigan Tech campus. And everything worked as expected. A previous poster mentioned highway noise, steep stairs, and noise from the ice cream shop. All things to consider, but not necessarily show stoppers. The ice cream shop noise was only noticeable during their closing routine. Seems like this could be remedied with a little investigation of where the gap is between flat and shop. The highway noise is loud if you have the windows open. We strategically opened/closed windows to reduce noise. Finally, the stairs are steep, but not an issue. I would stay here again and recommend to others.

The Ahmeek Streetcar Station was perfect for a weekend in the UP skiing at Mount Bohemia! It was very cozy and made us feel at home. Jane was incredibly helpful throughout the entire booking process and was available when we had a question for her late at night. I didn't have much interaction with the host, but the flat was lovely and as described. This listing is no longer active on AirBNB, but some things to note for future visitors: - The stairs to reach the flat are very steep. Take note if you have older guests. - Music coming from the ice cream shop below can be heard in the bedroom. Ok since they close at 11, but good to know if you're an early-to-bed person. This is also situated on a main road so traffic noise throughout the night. - I think there's also a flat downstairs; a faint smell of cat? or litterbox could be smelled, and there was a dog barking. We had some minor trouble with the bathroom sink faucet that wasn't bolted to the sink. Otherwise, the place is wonderful, clean and spacious. We enjoyed our time here. Everything was as described and ice cream right downstairs made my kids very happy.

Jocelyn was a great host! She enthusiastically welcomed me, making me feel instantly at home. The home has been meticulously restored with interesting historical furnishings that enhanced the experience. The place is centrally located on the Keweenaw peninsula making it easy to drive to the many different areas.

We had an awesome stay at Jocelyn's beautiful house. We struggled to find it due to (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Map issues but Jocelyn was super accommodating to our late arrival. Great conditions, clean and homey rooms with a lot of decorations. Bathroom is loaded with different products to use. She cooked up a great breakfast as well. Overall an amazing host and property to stay at.

We love to do road trips and this year we decided to do the U.P. I can honestly say that Da Beach was by far the best place we have stayed...ever. It has everything you could ever want or need plus the area is beautiful. Don't even like to write reviews but I had to because we had an amazing time.

I was a little worried about booking this place since there were no reviews but I'm glad I did, it definitely exceeded expectations! My husband and I (and our dog) stayed for 4 nights and the location was a great home base to explore the Keweenaw Peninsula. We visited Delaware Mine, hiked to Montreal Falls and Horseshoe Harbor, and explored Calumet, Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor. At the house there was access to the beach and a fire pit on the beach with lots of firewood. The house was very clean and decorated nicely and the host provided everything we needed (coffee, shampoo, extra towels, pots and pans, area information including a local place that delivered a pizza to us our first night. It was also nice to have wifi since our phones didn't have any service in the area. If we are in the area again we'll definitely look at booking this place a second time!
