It has won many national awards. Tea and cakes can be best enjoyed in Barton's Ropewalk Art Gallery and Museum. • Family Holidays • Whether you're a cosy 4 looking for a quite cottage getaway or an extended family in need of a family-friendly house, Hare Cottage can accommodate you all! A cot can be arranged upon request. We can also provide a list of family friendly activities in the local area. • The Surrounding Area • A short drive from a number of country parks (Normanby & Elsham Hall), historic market towns (Brigg & Barton-Upon-Humber), extensive walks (Lincolnshire Wolds & Humberside), and historic cities a little further afield (Beverly, York & Lincoln), there are no end of group friendly activities in the local area. We're more than happy to recommend a schedule.
  • Had a wonderful break with my family for my birthday. Loved the decor in the house, so homely - especially the log fire! Emily stayed in contact throughout the stay which was very useful. Left feeling rested after a night at the spa, so relaxing and enjoyed the thoughtful touches such as the kimonos, tea, body scrubs etc. Would highly recommend to friends! Thank you for a great weekend!

  • Perfect place for a lovely relaxing getaway. Hosts are great, really attentive and did all they could to make sure we had a great stay, despite Storm Dennis’ attempts to cause havoc! Would 100% recommend, and thanks for a great stay :-)

  • This was my first ever air B and B experience ! Emily’s communication was excellent from start to finish, we loved the location (in the middle of nowhere) although unfortunately storm Dennis meant that we had no internet connection but the board games and DVD’s had us entertained. We loved the fire the thoughtful touches in the house made our stay even better. We booked in for the hot tub experience which both of us thoroughly enjoyed. All round a great experience. Thanks to Emily for the communication and Paris for showing us the hot tub. We had a great time and hope to come back. Lucy and Michael x

  • My friends and I booked the cottage for a relaxing weekend catch-up. It was perfect for hanging out and spending time together. We booked the spa for a few hours and I am so glad we did. We were provided with spa kits including homemade products which was a lovely touch. I would definitely recommend this place for catching up and spending time with friends.

My place is close to the town centre of this historic little market town, but very quiet in the countrside. TV and kettle in the room. There is a parking space. It is good for the monthly farmers market, Lincoln, Hull, Beverly or the coast. Lots of cafes, pubs and small shops. A good place to relax. Easy travel to Hull City of Culture events. Please note the nearest railway station is Barnetby. Transport can be arranged. Continental breakfast is offered.
Two bedrooms available, one under another listing. This double bedroom has own T.V. The main bathroom has just been modernised and is light and airy, a separate toilet; also a shower room with wash basin and toilet. A downstairs toilet available. Locks are now inside all bedrooms, bathrooms and toilets.
A quiet road leading to fields.
  • Helen is very welcoming, relaxed & communicates with you well. Place is spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, access to kitchen. If you have played hockey, this is the place to go & reminisce.

*high standards of hygiene here* *special offer prices* I have two rooms to let in my home which is located on a quiet street and is a five minute drive from the steel works, half a mile from supermarkets, a small high street, pubs, takeaways and a gym. There are more pubs and eateries within 2 miles, making it a perfect location. There is ample space to cook, dine & relax, both indoors and out. Contractors welcome. I offer a discount for a week/month or more.
My home is spacious and clean. There is ample space to cook, (all pots, pans and utensils, plus 1 x cupboard and 1 x fridge shelf is provided for all guests) dine and relax - I have a large kitchen with breakfast bar, an additional dining area and a spacious living room with tv and french doors off into the garden. There is a bay where you can park outside the property.
The neighbourhood is quiet yet within a few minutes walk of local shops and pubs or a few minutes drive of supermarkets and the town centre of Scunthorpe. British Steel is a 5 minute drive (2 miles) from here. As well as this, Scunthorpe is a great location for visiting neighbouring cities and places of interest. The motorway 5 minutes away will take you to Sheffield and Leeds in an hour, Doncaster, Hull and the beautiful city of Lincoln in just over half an hour.
  • Great hospitality and super clean! Gemma was so helpful throughout my stay.

  • Outstanding place to stay, have no doubts, this is the place to book long term if you appreciate a sparkling clean, local residence with a wonderful host.

    Andy2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time using Airbnb. It won’t be the last! Gemma was a brilliant host who exceeded all expectations. Prior communication was great. On arrival Gemma showed me around and made me feel very much at home. During the stay Gemma was on hand to help where necessary. Great value for money too. Definitely one to recommend and I’ll be back.

    Julie2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Gemma accepted my request for accommodation at short notice which I truly appreciate. This was my first time using an Airbnb and due to the easy and straightforward experience I had it is definitely something I would consider again in the future. Gemma greeted me on arrival and was very welcoming, she gave me a tour of her house which was great and the fact that it had more than one bathroom was a huge bonus. I only used only some of the facilities the house had to offer such as washing machine and iron which were easy to find and use. Although it was the small room that was available it was still big enough to provide a double bed, closet, desk and TV. If I am ever in need of a place to stay in Scunthorpe Gemma's home would be the first place I would look.

    Darren2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Gemma is a great host. The home is clean, cosy and spacious. Perfect for short and long stays. Thank you Gemma!

  • My stay at Gemma's house was not only a comfortable one, but also an enjoyable one too. She is an amazing host and is always around to help. Well equipped with all the mod-cons. A+++. (And comfy bed). Would definitely stay there again. Thanks Gemma

    Paul2018-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Gemma's was lovely she had a wonderful home and is very warming to anyone staying everything was lovely and clean. I can not recommend Gemma enough to people.

  • This has been a delightful and very affordable stay. Gemma was a wonderful host, making sure I had everything I needed. This was a work trip for me, and the flat was cozy and friendly, with great wifi. I enjoyed being with Gemma and the other lodgers. The location is great (bearing in mind that this is a working class town). There are shops and pubs within an easy walk, and Aldi and many other stores within a very short drive or longer walk. Parking was never a problem. The kitchen is an especially inviting place to cook, eat, and enjoy conversation. Highly recommended!

Appleby is a small picturesque village in North Lincolnshire lying about 5 km to the north-east of Scunthorpe, straddling the B1207 – the historic Roman Road of Ermine Street which once ran directly from London to York. The village nestles on the dipped slope of a limestone escarpment that falls gently towards the River Ancholme to the east. Appleby is close to many other attractions in the village of Broughton is St Mary’s Church which dated from 1066, although the tower is possibly earlier, giving evidence that there has been a centre of Christian worship in Broughton for over 900 years at least. That worship continues to this day with regular weekly services and other services for festivals and special occasions. Brigg is a quaint little market town primary functions have remained unchanged down the centuries - a safe place to cross the River Ancholme and a forum for buying and selling goods and services. Back in the 11th century the only crossing was by wading through a ford where the river was just a few feet deep, near the site of what is now the Lidl store. A very small settlement was clustered near the crossing point. The first recorded reference to the county of Lincolnshire was in 1016 but the ancient territory of Lindsey, of which Brigg was part, existed as an entirely separate entity. In the village of Scawby is Scawby Hall is a Grade 1-listed, Jacobean manor house that was first begun by Richard Nelthorpe (1569-1640) in 1603 and has been lived in by members of the Nelthorpe family ever since. The house has been expanded and remodelled by successive generations. In 1792, upon the sale of Baysgarth Hall in Barton-upon-Humber, Scawby Hall became the main residence in Lincolnshire of the Nelthorpe family.

  • We stayed here for 1 night and couldn't have asked for a better stay. Everything seems to have been considered, communication was clear and fast, the place was spotlessly clean and the attention to detail was spot on. We hope to be back for a longer stay next time!

    Paul2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful stylish place and surrounding area, ideal for a quiet get away.

    Jason2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here almost entirely because of the style and decor of the apartment — perfectly to our tastes, and an inspiration for a (hopefully not TOO far in the future) self-build plan of our own. Seen in the flesh, the apartment didn't disappoint: it's bright, comfortable-yet-minimal, and sparklingly clean throughout. The bathroom, though simple, has a real 'luxury hotel' vibe to it thanks in no small part to the spacious walk-in rainfall shower. The bedroom, meanwhile, is clean, comfortable, and tremendously cosy — the rain pattering down on the roof during the night of our stay sent us to sleep in minutes. The facilities at The Mill are also first-rate, making it ideal for a quiet weekend getaway from city life. There's a fully equipped kitchen complete with induction hobs, an oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, and even a coffee machine. There's also WiFI and a smart TV in the living room with free access to Netflix, and the property in general benefits from a number of nice, modern touches like remote-operated blinds, skylights, and underfloor heating. Our hosts even left fresh bread, milk, and butter for us, along with some snacks in the kitchen. My only (perhaps selfish) suggestion would be that said snacks could be more suitable for vegetarian guests, too — as much as I wanted to devour the chorizo-flavour crisps that had been left for us, I couldn't because of the ingredients; and we also chose to use our own soya milk because I personally prefer not to drink cow's milk. Similarly, the coffee pod machine does produce undeniably tasty coffee, but perhaps fresh-ground coffee with paper filters (or just an old-school cafetiere) would be a more eco-friendly alternative as they would do away with the need for single-use coffee pods. But of course, I'm nitpicking here — these are of course extras, and very generous at that, and our experience at The Mill was exactly what we expected: a quiet, cosy, comfortable countryside haven with more than a dash of modern sophistication. There's not a tonne to do in the surrounding area, truth be told, but this is the kind of rental that you visit for the apartment itself, so you'll want to spend as much time as possible indoors! Thank you for a great stay!

  • This is my second stay at the barn. I couldn’t wait to go back after my first time. This time I brought my dog so I got to explore the grounds and it was lovely. It’s an ideal place to stay if you want a peaceful and relaxing getaway and Jess includes plenty of thoughtful touches to make your stay special. Highly recommended!

  • We had an amazing time at Jess and Tom's beautiful home. The place itself is spacious and clean with lovely country touches, and nothing was too much for them as hosts. We brought our dog who had a great time romping around off lead as well! The best Airbnb we have stayed at, can't recommend highly enough.

  • Lovely property in a stunning location. Very dog friendly, lovely thoughtful touches including Jess’s home baked lemon drizzle cake. Spotless, beautifully furnished with super comfy beds. Highly recommended.

    Tessa2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful place exceeded all of our expectations. We received a warm welcome from Jessica and the personal touches made our stay extra special. Home made pizza, use of the tennis courts and the delicious chocolate cake were wonderful touches. Our very energetic dog had as much fun as all of us with wonderful walks and the small touches such as dog towels and treats made everything so much easier. The house is beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice. Would recommend this place to anyone, from couples to families and dogs! We will definitely be returning.

  • Well what can we say this place is amazing. Beautiful well kept grounds, welcoming hosts and the barn is just wow 🤩 We loved sitting by the open fire and our dog enjoyed the walks. It’s clear to see how much effort goes in to this place. Lots of little touches which were appreciated such as the towel/treats for our dog and the delicious lemon drizzle cake. Thank you both, we will be back soon.

  • The Roomtel airbnb is located in the centre of Brigg's market place, within a minutes' walking distance of various shops, restaurants and pubs. The kitchen and lounge areas were both well-kept and felt very homely. I didn't meet the owners during my stay (I could enter both the front door and bedroom door with different keycodes provided), but they gave me their telephone number and invited me to message them with any queries/problems. The room itself was beyond my expectations - it larger than expected, beautiful and had a lovely view of the river Ancholme/Brigg bridge over the river. Walls are a little bit on the thin side, but not so much to warrant any complaints - the en-suite shower and bathroom were a little better than expected for the price point. If you're reading this and thinking about stopping in Brigg, I'd definitely recommend staying here - you won't regret it. If the need arises, I'll gladly come back.

  • Panjaks home is in a lovely little village, very quiet and peaceful. The home is very comfy and spotlessly clean. We enjoyed our stay, the bed was very comfortable and we slept well. Panjak was extremely helpful and very welcoming, he took a late booking from us and went out of his way to give advice as to where to eat and not to worry what time we arrived, which was very kind of him. Our room was very comfortable with everything we needed for a comfortable stay and the shower was really good, we also really appreciated the en-suite. We only stayed a night and wish we could have stayed longer. We can highly recommend Panjaks home for anyone looking to stay in the area. Thank you so much Panjak for your hospitality, we enjoyed our brief stay in your lovely home.
