  • Staying in the Scriptorium is absolutely magical! My mum and I loved it so much and are already planning to make another trip back. The architecture of the abbey is stunning and it had everything we needed to feel at home. Well stocked kitchen and comfy bed too. Easy stroll to the local pubs, chip shop, and grocer.

  • The apartment was beautiful in a fantastic building with great facilities. Andrea's is a great host and was very attentive.

    Dan2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We came for a long weekend in January and were not disappointed! The Scriptorium was chic and comfortably furnished. We loved all the original features. The apartment was just a little skip away from the pool in the chapel. The pool was lovely and warm, quiet and super clean. Lovely view from in the pool too. The grounds and surroundings alone were stunning, so we took a Loch Ness cruise while the weather was good to take it all in, which we picked up from just outside the grounds. We had great communication and a really helpful welcome and tour. There was info on the history of the abbey and ideas of what to do locally in the apartment. Would highly recommend a stay at the Scriptorium without hesitation and would love to go again!

  • Lovely apartment with a great view of the River Ness. The apartment is clean, cozy, and comfortable. There were lovey little touches throughout the apartment and there was cereal, bread, and staples available for us. Rebecca was quick to respond to inquiries and had great tips in the apartment for local restaurants, etc. The apartment is a short walk to pubs, etc. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Amazing hosts. They responded quickly and helped with everything we needed from leading up to our visit all the way to when we left. They are very accommodating and made recommendations for where we could visit. They had teas coffee sugar and milk with biscuits on our arrival. The cottage was beautiful and clean within a fantastic location so very easy to walk to places. I can’t say enough how pleased we were!

    Nicole2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline and Joep's place was lovely! Joep met us at the door for check-in (although you can check in independently as well) and gave us a tour of the property. He mentioned everything you'd need to know from the heating to their very cool electric shower and towel warmer. They have some great amenities such as tea and coffee to start you out with on your stay. They also have a washer in the home and then a dryer just a few steps away in a shed in the courtyard. The shed with the dryer was also super clean and had some extra clothes lines for hanging up delicates. Their home was super clean and had such cute images of hairy coos on the walls, which my friend and I personally loved. There are plenty of cozy blankets to use in the living room/bedroom. The TV situation was also great with cable options and an option to cast from your device to the TV. The location is fantastic - right next to the River Ness. It's close to all the city's restaurants and shops too. Just a two minute walk away is the local Tesco (so convenient) and their home is a ten minute walk away from the bus station/train station. Would highly reccomend their home for your stay in Inverness!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Pat's cottage. It was perfect for us to come back to after adventuring in the Highlands all day. It felt like a home away from home. The cottage was very stylishly decorated and had everything we needed, such as a fully equipped kitchen, a TV with DVD player, and even a hairdryer! We even had a few snacks laid out for us to enjoy when we arrived. The cottage is in the perfect location, right next to Loch Ness and only a short drive away from numerous sightseeing spots and bigger towns and cities. We even got to enjoy the snow while we were at the top of a mountain. Pat and Thomas were very friendly and considerate hosts. We recieved daily messages making sure we were ok and giving us tips and recommendations. We felt really at home and would definitely come back. Thank you!

Spacious apartment that easily sleeps up to 3 guests with the addition of a sofa bed in it's own 'snug room' and 2nd bathroom. On entering this super apartment there is a very useful heated 'boot -room' area with a bench. The 2nd bathroom has a spacious shower, toilet and wash basin. The stunning living room has a double height ceiling and is beautifully furnished in a traditionally Scottish style; relax on one of the two comfortable setee's or sit on one of the two window seats and stare in awe through the 5 meter high gothic style windows at mysterious Loch Ness. The open-plan kitchen/dining area is fully equipped with an Italian granite worktop and high quality fixtures and fittings. The very pretty bedroom (all fabrics and furnishings are from Anta Scotland) is situated on a mezzanine level and has a super-king bed, comfortable seating and views of Loch Ness. The lavish bathroom has both a powerful shower and a large bath tub, under floor heating and a heated towel rail. The adjoining dressing room has two internally lit double wardrobes. • What an amazing apartment. So clean, comfortable, and wonderful touches throughout. The building is beautiful, the views are gorgeous, and it’s the perfect location to explore the highlands. I highly recommend this rental!

    Danielle2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our recent stay at the Caladh exceeded all of our expectations and will forever be a cherished holiday memory of ours. From the extremely warm welcome we got on arrival, to the beauty and peace created by the apartment and surrounding grounds, we never stopped smiling. Facilities like the amazing pool and sauna went down a treat, as did the billiard/games room. However, we were most content to take time out with a good book in the apartment, looking on to Loch Ness. Just stunning. Our only regret ... that we didn't stay longer.

    Craig2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Ideally located for exploring the Highlands, perfectly equipped and very spacious ... and in a setting, that of the Highland Club, absolutely WONDERFUL

    Guillaume2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was a beautiful and charming place to stay and explore Fort Augustus and Loch Ness.

    Sean2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it! Amazing room, views and location, great facilities too. Heaps of great books in the apartment about local history and Scotland and a great highland feel to it

    Lars2019-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Caladh is a stunning apartment, cosy sofas downstairs and Sky TV, well equipped kitchen including nesspresso machine. Nice and warm with heating on. Very comfy bed. The view from the arched windows is absolutely stunning, looking across the Loch, you could just sit and look all day. Inside the Abbey building is awe inspiring, the swimming pool is very warm and sauna and steam room excellent. We had the pool to ourselves every time we went. Loads of things to do, clay pigeon shooting, archery, knife throwing, golf, boat trips from just outside the Abbey. Or just relax. Absolutely breathtaking scenery all around. Excellent holiday, thoroughly recommend.

    Sally2019-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about Gary's apartment - from the location, to the view, to the space itself - was absolutely perfect and hands down the best Airbnb I've ever stayed in. The abbey is absolutely gorgeous and bursting with history, the quaint village a 4 minute walk from the front door, and the Loch - well, that speaks for itself. The hosts included many thoughtful touches, including a small library and a load of information on the history of the monastic school. I'd live here if I could!

    Brianna2019-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely gorgeous apartment with a beautiful view of the Loch. Probably the nicest decor and appointments of any airbnb we have stayed in. Great bed/bedding, excellent shower, very high-quality fixtures and furnishings in every room. Very functional and well-equipped kitchen. Immaculately clean in all areas. Nice and warm even in the middle of cold and wet weather. We didn't make use of the games/pool rooms but they both looked lovely. Check-in was a bit of an issue because we didn't get the message with the information on how to contact the property manager. But we eventually found someone to call him for us and when he came to help us check in he was very nice and helpful. We would certainly stay here again if we were going to be in the area.

  • Margaret was able to accommodate us last minute and we couldn’t be more pleased. Perfect location as a gateway to the western highlands and exploring Loch Ness. The flat was cosy and comfortable. It had everything we needed and more - everything from cooking utensils to extra toiletries to local contact information. Very thoughtful host and great communication.

    Emma2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • The hideaway really exceeded our expectations. Everything was very clean when we arrived and we were pleasantly surprised by all the little extras. The bed was also incredibly comfy! We would love to visit again.

  • We used this place as a stopover on our journey from Edinburgh to Isle of Skye. I wish we had longer here! It was beautiful and a very well laid out space. I think it’s the smallest tiny house we’ve ever stayed in, but more than met our needs.

    Sharanya2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The hideaway was just perfect for our short stay. Warm, clean, private & cosy! Margot and her family were very hospitable. We walked to the Loch Ness Inn for dinner which was lovely too. The hideaway is perfectly located for part of your Highlands adventure. Thank you!

    Sarah2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • I was really happy to visit this place. Everything was perfect but maybe it would be a little bit far if you visit here without car.

We arrived and were greeted by Michael who was super friendly and gave us loads of tips where to go etc, there was milk, bread, biscuits and other little treats waiting for us! The house was sparkling clean and such a cosy space! Thank you Michael & Marie

  • Great cozy place to stay, we were worried that the bed area would be too small, but it was a great size, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    James2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Michael and Marie are extremely friendly and helpful. Their "wee house" is stylish and very well equipped with everything you need for a break in the highlands. It was cosy and comfortable. We will return in the summer, and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The local "Waterfall cafe" is also great for food and coffee.

The icing on top was of course the games room with ice hockey and pool table. We put some music on and had a few hours of recreation which was great after a long drive. I would definitely recommend the place to anyone who would like to avoid the hassle of a city and enjoy some peaceful and fun time.

  • Excellent place to stay with everything you need. Facilities are all very new and work perfectly. The location is brilliant for accessing the Highland and Islands. Jen is very helpful and responsive, a really great host. We had a brilliant time here and will be telling all our friend. Highly recommended!

  • Great location! It was a short walk to the centre of town which made it easy to take in the sights. The accommodations were clean, comfortable and as advertised. Jen was a great host and offered lots of suggestions on the area. I highly recommend a stay at her place.

  • Spacious 2 bed cottage more than big enough for the three of us, modern and spotless throughout. Friendly and informative welcome, clear and quick communications throughout. 10mins walk into Fort Augustus, ideally located for our short stop between Skye and Inverness in order to explore Loch Ness. Thanks again for a lovely stay.

    Zack2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jen's place is perfect in every way. Will recommend to my friends.

    Elle2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jen's accommodation is just out of town (about 2 minutes to drive in). The self contained 2 bedroom bungalow is spacious, neat, clean, comfortable, has everything you'll ever need and could accommodate a family of 4. The kitchen is complete, has a cupboard full of condiments and has a few appliances I don't even have at home! So if you're staying there a while, there'll be no problems if you want to whip something up for yourself. Jen is an informative and gracious host. She was worried she wouldn't finished work before I got there, so here lovely mother and father were recruited to "man-the-fort" and showed me around. Fort Augusts is a charming little town on the banks of Loch Ness. The petrol station/general store is well stocked with anything you need and there are ample pubs and restaurants. You can spend several hours wandering the streets and looking at the arts and crafts and doing the touristy thing. You can also use it as a base to look around the area. If you like twisty winding roads and getting a little out of the way, you can try doing a lap of Loch Ness (up the east side to Inverness and then back down the main road on the west side). Would I stay at Jen's again if I'm in the area? - definitely yes. Would I recommend it to others? - unreservedly.

My place is close to Loch Ness and public transport links to Inverness. You’ll love my place because of the natural light, modern open plan living space and mature woodland garden. My place is good for solo adventurers. I work from home running a natural yarn dyeing business, Loch Ness Knitting. So I am on hand to provide information about the local area. Please be aware we also have two friendly cats.
First Floor bedroom, with single bed. Traditional sloped ceiling and large window. Your bathroom with power shower is adjacent to the room.
The village of Drumnadrochit is at the heart of Loch Ness. We are within walking distance of the Nessieland and Loch Ness exhibition centres. Boat trips to explore the Loch and Castle Urquhart are also available in the village centre. For evening meals we recommend booking the Fiddlers or the Loch Ness Inn. Cafes and Pubs in the village centre are also excellent. For a hearty breakfast we recommend the A82 cafe around the corner from the house.
  • Beautiful modern home in the heart of Loch Ness. Amazing surroundings and easy to get to everything.

    Sabine2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Both are very nice and helpful. The apartment is clean and you can cook something in the kitchen. One cat is very sweet the other is not. The location is great. It is only about 3 minutes to the snack bar and the supermarket. You can also walk to the ruins (but costs a lot of admission).

  • Totally recommend Lesley Ann’s cottage. She was so kind and checked we had arrived safely and left us milk with tea and coffee and various other kitchen things. There was a plentiful supply of logs for the amazing fire in the livingroom. We managed to sit outside and catch some Autumn sun in the garden too! It was perfectly situated for wonderful forest walks, boat down the Loch and delicious food at the local Lovat Hotel. The shop was a 5 minute walk and had all you could need. We just loved it so much and didn’t want to come home! Thank you LesleyAnn for your kindness and hospitality xxx

Urquhart Bay Croft is a brand new luxury self-catered renovation with beautiful views across Loch Ness and Glen Urquhart. Downstairs it has a double height entrance hallway, one king-size bedroom, and separate family bathroom, while upstairs it boasts a fully equipped open plan kitchen/dining area, lounge with comfy sofa and free standing log burner, and double doors opening to decked area and the wider south facing garden.
We are Simon and Annie Greenlay. We first saw Urquhart Bay cottage in 2014 and fell in love with it. We have run Urquhart Bay BnB for 2yrs(see our other listings for reviews). We knew immediately that we wanted to live in this peaceful place with its one-of-a-kind views over Loch Ness. The Croft is our latest project that we have put our heart and soul into, and look forward to sharing it with our guests. The Croft is ideally situated close to the beautiful Highland village of Drumnadrochit, and is only a 2 minute walk from the iconic Urquhart Castle. It sits in extensive private gardens to explore offering stunning views of Loch Ness and Glen Urquhart. Downstairs, there is a large kingsize bedroom with original bothy window offering views from the bed across the loch, and a separate luxury bathroom with roll-top bath and separate shower with rain head. Upstairs, there is a large open plan kitchen/diner and lounge with free standing log burner, that also has a pull out sofa bed for children. We have worked with local craftsmen to restore and enhance the original building, so that you are never far from a view of the Loch(even from your bed!), and couldn’t be closer to the iconic Urquhart Castle, just a few minutes’ walk away. For the cosier evenings we have a large log burner, SMART TV and high speed WiFi available throughout. The Croft is furnished to a very high standard, with many items hand crafted and knitted. Guests can expect high quality toiletries, Egyptian cotton linen throughout, and we are happy to provide fresh eggs daily from our free range highland hens. The Croft is a great base to explore the highlands, and there are many walking routes directly from the doorstep to explore the local views across the iconic Loch, or bump into some of the local wildlife such as many local deer or birds of prey who live near the Loch. We have plenty of parking available and are a short walk from the local village of Drumnadrochit.
Peaceful and in an area of outstanding beauty. A short walk down to the village on a path.
  • The location of this Croft is amazing with lovely views of Loch Ness, the recommendations on where to visit were very welcome also. The Croft is homely and had everything we needed, we can’t fault anything! Thank you very much for letting us stay here.

  • Wow what a stunning find! We were a little nervous being first time airnbnb-ers but our experience couldn't have been better. The croft is the perfect cosy hideaway and Annie and Simon are wonderful hosts.

    Morgan2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Annie & Simon’s beautiful Croft. For me, it was perfect, faultless even. The Croft is beautifully designed, warm, cosy and welcoming with stylish, personal touches. In a nutshell, the bed is super comfy, bathroom is great, kitchen has everything you need, and the living room has a wood burning stove, not to mention THAT view! The balcony area is a peaceful outside space to sit and enjoy the view of Loch Ness and the wooded hillside behind the croft. I’d say the croft is ideally located to explore the area, with short walks direct to the village and beyond. There is a large Co-op and good pharmacy, and the Loch Ness Inn pub is nearby. Simon was generous with helpful local advice - thank you for pointers on Glen Affric (I did the Affric-Kintail trail for longer hike) and the Great Glen Way (check out the pottery)- I did both and loved every minute! I can’t wait to return! Thank you!

    Sarah2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What a beautiful and luxurious place to stay. The Croft was incredibly well equipped and decorated to a very high spec. It was really warm, comfortable, and relaxing. Just what my partner and I needed. We really didn’t want to leave. It’s also very well located with beautiful views over Urquhart Bay, and just around the corner from Urquhart Castle. Simon met us on arrival which was quite late in the evening, and showed us around the Croft and gave us lots of useful information about local walks. We would love to return to the Croft again.

  • This is a fabulous find for anyone exploring the Loch Ness, North West Scotland area. Cosy, comfortable, clean and charming. If you are looking for a lovely secluded place to retreat to, this is it. Take you hiking boots. There are some fabulous views. We loved our visit.

    Jennifer2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Croft has awesome views looking over Loch Ness and has everything you need for a relaxing weekend getaway. Lovely local restaurant called The Loch Ness Inn, which I’d highly recommend too! Thanks Annie & Simon. Hope to see you again soon!

    Tom2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic accomodation in an amazing location. The croft is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Would recommend for anyone looking to stay in this area. Thanks again to Simon and Annie for having us!

    Mark2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing house to stay in! The house exceeded all our expectations- not only is it a beautifully designed house (all the windows are perfectly placed so you maximise all the views) but it is in a perfect location, only 4 mins walk to Urquhart Castle and a 5mins drive to local amenities and overlooks the beautiful Loch Ness! There are lots of lovely touches around the house and it’s very beautifully decorated. The bathroom was spotless and the bath was by far the best I’ve ever used! I wish I could have taken it home with me! Will be recommending to all our family and friends!

  • Do not hesitate to book this little slice of heaven! Tracy is a wonderful host, helping with a birthday cake for my husband and even leaving a box of choccies for him. The lodge itself is amazing, spotlessly clean, super comfy beds, all mod cons and the hot tub is a delight! We will be booking again and can't wait to go back.

    Claire2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely time visiting the Lodge, It was a great first Valentines weekend as a new Mr & Mrs. Tracy was very prompt in answering any questions we had and was kind enough to add the extra touch of a welcome box of chocolates :) Would definitely recommend.

    Chloe2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy's place was absolutely stunning and i couldn't have asked for more! I felt so welcome and the sweet touches of the chocolates for valentines day was so thoughtful! Tracy was such a lovely host, very attentive and friendly. I will 100% be back!

  • Just back from an excellent stay. Everything in the lodge was sparkling and we loved the added extras of bread, butter, jam and milk. Tracy was quick to respond when we had any questions and provided lots of information about the local area. Was a lovely stay and would definitely recommend staying here.

    Natalie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect get away in an amazing area. A nice quiet area but still local enough to shops, restaurants and a takeaway. A very cosy stay, we will be back for sure!

    Grant2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Just home from a fantastic weekend away. Tracey gave us a warm welcome to begin with. The lodge was stunning/ very modern and the hot tub was a great feature. We loved the little quirks i.e. the board games and the bread etc, very thoughtful. The drive to Lewiston/ the river at the back of the lodge was so peaceful and being in that part of Scotland reminded us of the beauty of the country. Thank you Tracey, we hope to return in the future!

    Emma2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here over New year. Absolutely fantastic, Tracy really has thought of everything. The lodge was just immaculate and so cozy, quiet and private. We will definitely be back and have already recommended to friends. Beautiful walks near by too.

  • Claudia is a great host. We didn't get the chance to meet her but as soon as we arrived in the place, we felt very welcome! The place was easy to find, check in was simple and quick and the place is clean, well equipped and well stocked. There were fresh flowers, fruits, a bottle of wine, tea, coffee, even a bottle of fresh milk which we weren't expecting. The house is amazing, spacious and warm. There's plenty of logs for the fire place, we barely used the underfloor heating even when it was snowing! Thanks Claudia for having us and we hope to return again.

The Field House sits on the edge of a hayfield just outside Fort Augustus. It is a warm and intimate space, with a living and dining area with spectacular views of the fields and hills, an ensuite shower room, a galley kitchen and two single beds in the loft. The decking is frequented by game birds, hares and owls, and highland cattle graze in the neighbouring field. Fort Augustus and Loch Ness are a short walk away, and the house is perfectly located for exploring the highlands further afield.
A unique space, formally a hay shed, then an art gallery, constructed from trees felled in local woods by the owner and milled on the farm.
Fort Augustus is a friendly village with a fascinating history.
  • The field house is one of the most beautiful places I ever stayed at. So many wonderful details make this place so unique and comfortable. The surrounding is great to take long walks and Olivia and her husband also have perfect recommendations for things to do in the area. We will for sure come back as soon as possible!

We are a small village with only one Hotel to eat at in the evening so we would suggest booking at the Glenmoriston Arms Hotel to avoid disappointment. There is also a cafe open during the daytime, a village shop and a craft shop.
  • Okay, I tend to give five stars a lot, and then you stay somewhere where you need a higher option. Everything about this spot, it’s location on the GGW, the hospitality of the ladies running the B&B, the spot of whisky in the room, the option for a packed lunch on the way out the door the next day... everything was great and comfortable. Thanks again for letting me stay!

    Mary2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and friendly hosts (Lindsey and Amanda) who can offer you wonderful tips on the surrounding area. Nice garden with lots of birds in the morning. We even spotted a red squirrel! Beautiful room, super clean and it was the first BnB we encountered that actually provided complimentary whiskey in the room! Spacious and clean bathroom. Comfortable beds for weary hikers along the Great Glen Way. Breakfast was amazing too! Thank you guys for a lovely stay.

    Gavin2018-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly located for walkers, right on the Great Glen Way, with a pub only 100m away. A very friendly welcome and comfortable accommodation.

  • Beautiful location. Cozy, clean home. Fantastic hosts! I felt like I was staying with family...well, maybe not. My family would not have served me such a grand breakfast or provided all the wonderful amenities. You really should stay with Lindsey and her sister. They'll introduce you to Bob, the red squirrels, and the hilarious trio of pups. If I'm ever in the area again (and I hope I am), I will definitely stay here. Thanks, ladies! I told Beth I wish I could have spent more time getting to know you.

  • The Neptune room is a lovely place to stay in Fort Augustus. It has a great view of the canal and - even though it is so close to the bridge - there is very little noise heard in the room. The room was very clean and it is obvious that the hosts take pride in making a very ‘homely’ space to stay in. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who is coming to Fort Augustus for a night or two.

CreagMhòr B&B is remotely situated high up in peaceful Glen Urquhart four miles from Loch Ness. With it's own private access your accommodation is a ground floor en-suite double room which can also cater as a Twin/2xDouble/Family room using the additional and comfortable sofa bed. Your continental breakfast is conveniently kept fresh in your own fridge ready to be enjoyed at the table in the room. A Barbeque Hut is also available to hire for your own private use supplied with coal and utensils.
Our family home is situated below the summit of CreagMhor in an idyllic garden surrounded by a rich variety of wildlife, fauna and the scenic splendour of Glen Urquhart and the Glen Affric hills.
In days gone by CreagMhor was a small hamlet known as Badcaul, 'hazel clump' in Gaelic, presently however there are only two remaining houses both occupied by one extended family. Both properties have been refurbished from ruins to a high standard keeping their original 1850's crofting design visible.
  • Alison was absolutely wonderful! I'm on a daddy daughter trip and my father is a barbecue fanatic. We used the barbecue hut and made some great memories and in the morning went up the hill for some great pics of Loch Ness. Breakfast was a great touch. Would stay again!

A lovely, bright and characterful double room with ensuite bathroom and stunning views across Strathglass and the River Beauly. The room is on the ground floor of our log cabin home, just a short drive from the picturesque village of Beauly, as well as some of Scotland’s most beautiful glens. While you can enjoy tea and coffee-making facilities in your room, we also offer a continental breakfast to set you up for the day.
Our log cabin is very unusual in Scotland - there are very few houses built in this Alpine chalet style and there are none that enjoy the view that we have!
We are just over 6 miles from Beauly, a pretty village equipped with a small supermarket, gift shops, restaurants, butcher, post office and much more. The increasingly popular NC500 route around the north coast of Scotland runs right through Beauly! The Highland Capital of Inverness is also just 16 miles away. However we feel that the stunning Highland scenery is our best asset, and we are a stone’s throw away from beautiful valleys such as Glen Strathfarrar, Glen Cannich and Glen Affric. A little further afield you’ll find Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle, Rosemarkie Beach and Chanonry Point on the Black Isle (one of the best places to see bottlenose dolphins from UK land!), Culloden Battlefield, various distilleries including Glen Ord in the neighbouring town of Muir of Ord, and much much more. There are also opportunities for hiking, paragliding, dog-sledding, pony-trekking, loch cruises and dolphin-watching boat trips - just ask us for details!
  • We absolutely loved our stay with Becky and Warwick! The room was so cozy and beautiful. Lots of nice touches, extremely clean and a delicious breakfast which included fresh baked bread! • Not only are Alex and Phyllis great hosts, they seemed to be local tourism experts, as well. An amazing guide with day trip suggestions can be found inside the studio. This came in handy for travellers like us who only had our trip loosely planned. The studio was very clean and spacious. We would recommend a stay here for anyone travelling through the area.

Fuchsia Cottage is situated in the heart of Beaufort Estate. With beautiful walks and scenery all around. This is the perfect family retreat and easy access to the NC500. Plenty of golf courses within a short travelling distance. The area is steeped in history with Culloden Battlefield only a 20 minute drive from the cottage. Loch Ness is about the same distance and definitely worth a visit along with a trip on one of the Jacobite cruises. Fly into Inverness airport, only a half hour drive.
Fuchsia Cottage is rather special as the cottage was once used by one of the much loved tradesmen on the estate. You can get a feel for the working farm and if lucky enough be able to have a conversation with the happy go lucky farmer himself. He is more than delighted to have a wee blether about what is entailed in being a farmer in modern times.
  • We stayed at fuchsia cottage for 10 day and it was a lovely holiday, very peaceful and beautiful location, the cottage is perfect for exploring the Highlands and to get away from the city. It's well equipped and is new

Near Loch Ness – an exclusive hillside retreat in an elevated position with stunning views & a hot tub. High ceilings and modern fittings combine with the glass front to give a light, airy and tranquil feel. An open plan kitchen-living area leads to the large bedroom. From deck loungers - sit back and enjoy our beautiful surroundings. A rural location with a nearby sheep farm and access to heather-covered hills. The perfect spot to watch weather roll across the glen or get into the wilderness.
Druim Buidhe ("Yellow Ridge") is situated in an elevated position near Loch Ness, with fantastic views over the village of Drumnadrochit, Loch Ness and the Monadh Liath mountains beyond. Druim Buidhe is a short drive along a farm track from the tarmac road. The lodge is spacious, uncluttered and modern. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and kettle, as well as a good selection of cooking pans, utensils, glassware and crockery (including cafetière and teapot). There is a TV and a DVD player (including a selection of DVDs) and free Wi-Fi. A thermostat controls temperature. There is ramp access for wheelchairs or strollers. The ensuite features a large walk-in shower. There is ramp access for wheelchairs or strollers. Druim Buidhe comes with its own outdoor hot tub for your exclusive use. We welcome children. Please inform us ahead of time, and if need, be we can set up a crib, travel cot, junior bed or air mattress in either the bedroom or the living room. Staying here you really are in the heart of the countryside. Our outdoor space is open, a bit wild and offers tremendous views and because we are high up and we face south, we also get a surprising amount of sunshine! We have a large open garden with a sloping lawn; a small pond with wildflowers around it and a stream runs down the side of the property. Near the stream you can find an old bench in a shady spot to sit down next to it or enjoy a paddle in summer. We often wake up to find three roe deer enjoying our sloping lawn (which you also look across from Druim Buidhe). This is a spectacular part of the country, rich in historical and natural heritage. Staying here you are in the heart of the countryside. Behind the property you can walk straight onto heather moors with scattered juniper and gorse, and it's a short walk to a small loch nestled in the hills, with views of Loch Ness and of the higher mountains to the West and Southeast.
If you choose to leave the hillside (you may not want to!), it's only two miles down the hill to the village of Drumnadrochit, with all its amenities, including places to eat and museums where you can find out all you need to know about Loch Ness and its history (including, of course, the monster). Castle Urquhart is a mile further on down the road and Divach waterfall is about three from the property. The majestic Loch Ness itself is well worth exploring. We are also a wonderful base for hillwalking - it's not far to Glen Affric, Glen Cannich and Glen Strathfarrar, where some of Scotland's most extensive wilderness can be found. And, if you want to escape the countryside for a day, it's only a 25-minute drive into Inverness. You will find lots of local information in your lodge about what to do, what to see and where to eat.
  • Great place to stay if you're planning on spending time around the Loch Ness. We also considered a bunch of hotels etc. but it's rare for them to have hot tubs (and this is a really, really fancy once) with incredible sweeping views like this place does. Also the place is massive, warm, with all the modern amenities.

  • We have just got back from a London to Scotland roadtrip and this stay was the highlight of the trip. Not only was the accomodation surrounded by spectacular views over the hills/mountains and Loch Ness, it was much bigger than expected, comfortable, cosy and well equipt too! Suzanne and Richard were great hosts, easily contactable, quick to respond and on hand should you need any local tips or knowledge. We would certainly look to return in the future (perhaps in the summer next time!).

    Mark2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What a place! Excellent space in an idyllic location. We couldn't have asked for more. A nice touch with the wine and cheese on arrival and a relaxing evening in the massive hot tub with exquisite views was the perfect way to celebrate a milestone birthday. The place was spotless and the hosts were brilliant. Thank you both so much! Will definitely return!

    Chris2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place & lovely hosts. Great for a secluded getaway. The hot tub with a view was amazing. Lots of useful things provided & Richard gave great tips for the area! Highly recommend!

  • Brilliant property in fantastic location and incredibly helpful host

    Tom2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Truly amazing! Beautiful surroundings and wonderful hosts. My husband and I spent 6 nights sipping on local scotch (me) and beer (him) while stargazing from the hot tub. Secluded in just the right way, we were 5 minutes from the nearest village, Drumnadrochit, with restaurants, a Scottish co-op grocery, a launderette and easy access to Loch Ness, though we felt a world away from the hustle and bustle of a tourist area. We took a day trip to The Isle is Skye, another to the Glenfiddich Distillery, explored local cairns and did some walking in Glen Affric, a nature reserve with lots of hiking trails. But the highlight of our trip was enjoying the beautiful countryside at Druim Buidhe watching the sky change and the farmer and his dog running sheep at the neighboring farm. On top of that, Suzanne and Richard are the best hosts we have ever encountered and we hope to visit again. Cheers and until next time, Harriet and Dan

    Harriet2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We celebrated our first wedding anniversary here and we could not have found a better place to spend it. Richard and Suzanne are such lovely people and wonderful hosts. They completely leave you to your own space but are there if you need them. It feels like you are completely there on your own with beautiful views and a huge hot tub to enjoy in the peace and quiet of the scottish highlands. The cottage is sooo comfortable and has everything you could possibly need. Its spotlessly clean. We cannot reccomend this place enough and we will definitely be back, but we will book it for longer than a weekend next time as it just was not long enough. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.
