Places to stay in Llyn Gwynant
Celyn is situated in the magical valley of Nant Gwynant, right in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. It's incredibly fortunate to be one of the very few cottages in Snowdonia that is only a 10 minute walk from the Watkin Path, a spectacular route up Snowdon. From the cottage itself you are afforded the most awe-inspiring views of the Snowdon Range. The cottage has been recently refurbished & sleeps 4 people in 2 double rooms. It has everything you need to have an enjoyable holiday.
Sleeps four, two bedrooms, both with kingsize beds & all linen provided. One bathroom with WC, bidet, sink & bath with shower over the top. Towels provided. Fully equipped kitchen/diner with cooker, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge / small freezer. Cosy lounge with log burner (initial fuel provided) , 4 seater sofa, smart TV with DVD player Washing machine, tumble dryer & drying room for wet gear. WiFi is availble, although sometimes slow, it works well in communal areas. Celyn has a large garden with spectacular views. Outdoor seating & bbq/firepit provided. There is ample parking. The drive is steep but there are options to park at the bottom. We will contact you on the day of your booking to let you know check in details.
THE VALLEY - Nant Gwynant Directly from the bottom of the drive you can walk along the Glaslyn river, which has its source from the top lake of Snowdon and flows out into the Irish Sea at Porthmadog. A ten minute walk down river will take you to the start of the Watkin Path - a spectacular route up Snowdon, taking you through ancient oak woodland, besides waterfalls and blue pools, ruins of old mines, and finally up to the summit of Snowdon itself. Caffi Gwynant is also on your doorstep, serving delicious local food. Two lakes are also within easy reach. There is Llyn Dinas - a beautiful lake around which skirts a well-marked path to the picturesque and historic village of Beddgelert. And, in the opposite direction, is Llyn Gwynant. From here, depending on the season, you can hire canoes, paddles boards etc., and eat stone-baked pizzas by the lake, giving you time to appreciate the awe-inspiring views. CLOSEST VILLIAGE - Beddgelert This picturesque, Welsh village lies just 3.8 miles from Celyn (7 min drive). It is a MUST SEE, and worth spending ample time to soak up the historic atmosphere and its gorgeous surroundings. There is a good selection pubs, cafes, gift shops, a local shop, post office, church, and a fantastic ice-cream parlour! The world famous Welsh highland railway passes directly through Beddgelert, taking you on a memorable journey through some unforgettable locations. Beginning in Beddgelert, there is wide variety of walks that will take you through forests, up mountains, along the Glasyn river as its cuts and plunges its way through the mighty Aberglaslyn gorge, and walks that will take you back to Celyn. CLOSEST TOWN - Porthmadog Porthmadog is a small Welsh coastal town. It lies 11.4 miles from Celyn (23min drive). It has major supermarkets and all you would need from a town. It developed in the 19th century as a port exporting slate to England and elsewhere, but since the decline of the industry it has become a shopping centre and tourist destination. Porthmadog is the terminus of the Ffestiniog Railway. Within walking distance are the pretty seaside villages of Borth-y-guest & Morfa Bychan. The welsh coastal path passes through Porthmadog, taking walkers along the banks of the Glaslyn Estuary, providing views of mountain peaks and shimmering bays. If you are lucky you might also spot Ospreys hunting over the waters during the summer season before they migrate to Africa in the early autumn. Porthmerion is also nearby, a famous, and otherworldly Italianate-styled town situated on the banks of the Dwyrd estuary. SNOWDON - Routes up WATKIN PATH is a 10 minute walk from the cottage. It is one of the quieter and tougher routes up Snowdon. MINERS & PYG TRACK starts at Pen Y pass carpark - 11min (4.7 mi). They are arguably the most popular routes up Snowdon. CRIB COCH is an iconic grade 1 scramble and not for the inexperinced! Start point is Pen Y Pass car park. LLANBERIS PATH - 23min (10.3 mi) this is the easiest route up Snowdon. The Snowdon railway also leaves from Llanberis. SNOWDON RANGER, RHYD DHU & SOUTH RIDGE are other less popular routes to the summit and are all within 10 miles away from Celyn. If you want to hike mountains less travelled then see below... MOUNTAINS - Distances from Celyn There are many mountains to walk in Snowdonia,. Here are a few as an example to show Celyn's excellent location for mountain enthusiasts : The Glyderau Mountain Range - Idwal Carpark & parking on the A5 - 22 min (13.1 mi) The Carneddau Mountain Range - Idwal Carpark & parking on the A5 - 22 min (13.1 mi) The Moelwynion Mountain Range - Moel Siabod carpark - 15 min (8.2 mi) - Cnicht carpark - 9 min (2.9 mi) Please note that there is also an abundance of easier non-mountainous walks close by to Celyn. • This is a fab little (actually quite spacious!) cottage for two couples to use as a base to explore Snowdon and the surrounding hills. Amy and Will are fab hosts who always responded quickly, gave great local tips, and have clearly put a lot of thought into the little details. It has everything you need to be comfortable and a modern take on the hunting lodge aesthetic. Enjoy!

This comfortable, updated stone-built cottage is the ideal base for an adventurous break in the Snowdonia National Park. At the base of the Nant Peris Valley, one of the most dramatic in Britain, it is perfectly located for climbing Snowdon. The accommodation is great for one or two couples, or a small family. In our tiny village of Nant Peris we have a great local pub with ales, good food and an inglenook fire a stroll from your front door. Castles, beaches and adventures- Snowdonia has it all.
The ground floor is open plan. The lounge/diner area has a satellite TV and WIFI, although it's not the fastest! The area is centrally heated in cold weather and there is a log effect heater for any chilly evenings. Off the lounge/diner is the secondary sleeping area, with purpose built settee converting to a 6'6'' long double bed. The kitchen has an electric range style cooker with grill and fan ovens along with a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine etc. Upstairs is the bedroom with standard double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers etc. The bathroom is en-suite and has bath with shower over, basin/vanity mirror and toilet.
Nant Peris is a small village with a long history. It is much older than the nearby, larger village of Llanberis. We have no shop but we do have our Pub and 14th century church. For shopping,Restaurants etc a short drive or 25 minute walk gets you to Llanberis, which is also a centre for outward bound pursuits including climbing, canoeing, wild swimming, paddle boarding, triathlons and the list goes on... The Royal Town of Caernarfon with its World Heritage 13th century castle, Roman fort etc is easily accessible by bus or car and offers supermarkets and a larger range of shops, restaurants and so on. While here why not visit the REAL castle of Merlin the Magician, or a unique coastal hilltop stone age village-no entry fees !
  • A lovely place in a great location. Tom was an exceptional host. A great few days so thank you and I would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting to get away for a few days.

    Hector2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Tom’s cottage. A lovely, well equipped little house with everything you might need - great to have a big kitchen with a nespresso machine etc! Cosy and warm. The location is unbeatable - 5 mins drive from both llanberis and the pen y pass car park. Beautiful views outside and a great traditional pub next door! Tom was lovely and very hospitable during our stay. Thank you!

    Beth2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay in a fantastic location. Would stay again!

    Liz2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Tom’s hospitality, warm welcome and attentiveness was a great addition to our amazing time staying in Nant Peris for our Snowdon climb. Highly recommend this accommodation with an added bonus of a good old traditional boozer next door having great pub grub.

    Steven2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location, well kept. Tom is very knowledgable about the local area and is a superb host.

    Will2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very modern and much more spacious than we expected very quite location but that’s what we wanted very neutral to explore the natural Beaty of Snowdonia thanks Tom for being a great host

    Pamela2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We’d like to thank Tom so much for his hospitality during our stay in the cottage. We had a lovely time despite the weather being pretty awful, but it was a lovely break away. The cottage was pretty much what we had expected from reading the reviews and Tom couldn’t have been a better host. We really appreciated his quick responses to our messages and he was even kind enough to give us a lift into the village one evening to save on taxi fares. We weren’t able to get up Snowdon this time due to the weather but it is perfectly situated for it and we may be back in the summer! ☺️ There is WiFi however this can be a bit temperamental and slow, and with there being no signal, it’s perfect for anyone wanting to shut off the real world for a few days - although we did get signal just a few minutes drive away. There is a lovely little pub next door which do nice food and has a nice open fire! Overall we enjoyed our quiet break away and the cottage is nice and cosy. Would definitely recommend!

    Laura2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding hospitality and fabulous location. Tom lives right next door and is a wonderful host; there if you need him with speedy responses, but otherwise leaves you to it. Cottage is clean and homely with plenty of amenities. It's right next to a public footpath which trails being the property into beautiful views. Big supermarkets are about 20mins drive away, but there's a Spar in Llanberis which is 5 mins drive away. Thanks again Tom for a lovely stay!

Situated in a quiet area of Blaenau Ffestiniog, our place contains a ground floor en-suite, single room, with central heating and access to lounge and kitchen area. Our place is close to the following: Blaenau Ffestiniog railway station - ten minute walk. Llechwedd Slate Mines (where you'll find Zip World, and Bounce Below) - fifteen to twenty minute walk or five minute drive. We have a single bed but can accommodate a second guest. We have a floor mattress or a camp bed if needed.
The room has a single bed, however we have a floor mattress or camp bed, sleeping bags, duvets and pillows for a second guest if needed. Please note that with a second bed the space can be cramped so make sure your both comfortable with each other. We have a Border Collie named Tess - she is a year old and very friendly. She loves canine company, so if you have a well behaved pooch, by all means bring them along. We also have a secure back garden, with plenty of space.

A quarry man's cottage at the foot of Snowdon. Fully refurbished in 2015 to provide excellent facilities for couples and young families. Snowdon is at the door and Rhyd Ddu provides good accessibility to a wide range of other activities.
  • A charming cottage, perfectly located to explore Snowdonia. Clean, well equipped and very comfortable. Great value for money.

    Katie2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn’t have asked for a better location for this cottage. Especially if you are planning on climbing Snowdon via the Rhyd-Ddu path and the Snowdon Rangers path. The cottage is very nice and cosy and our dogs felt very much at home. The place is very clean, warm and tidy with all the necessary amenities. A place to wash and dry your wet walking gear and an outside garden if you are lucky enough with the weather. The village itself is quiet with a nice little pub within a stones throw of the cottage. There is also a forest nearby to get lost in if the mountain weather aren’t suitable for hiking. The host is very accommodating and communication is impeccable.

    Ryan2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was spot on and the location was fantastic, right on the Rhyd Ddu path to Snowdon!

    Sam2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A superb location to access the Snowdonia landscape on foot or bike. Excellent facilities. Dry and warm. I am a repeat guest.

    John2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location! The cottage was much bigger than we expected and was very clean and cosy. Really liked that they have so much available for you on arrival, basic things like toilet rolls, tea coffee and milk est. Highly Recommend

  • Perfect location for a walk up Snowdon and a super comfortable place, perfect for a quiet weekend away.

    Daniel2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely stay at a beautifully finished cottage. Perfectly located for Snowdon treks (a 2 minute walk and you're at the base of the Rhyd Ddu path) or just for a chill out. Excellent communications from the host. Highly recommend!

This house was originally a butchers shop in the picturesque village of Tanygrisiau. It has a self contained garden flat on the lower ground floor. The Ffestiniog railway runs in front of the main house and beautiful walks are on the doorstep.
The house retains many original features although the lower ground floor flat is newly renovated with an added private conservatory. It still retains the old character with wooden beams and a log burning stove in the living area.
Tanygrisiau is a small old slate mining village on the outskirts of Blaenau-Ffestiniog in Snowdonia National Park.
  • Thank you Sheila! She has been an amazing host. We stayed at the place below and it’s spacious with proper big toilet and small kitchen.

    Joanna2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great stop off for walking in Snowdonia. Lovely fire to warm up and comfy space

    Sophie2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely place to stay - quiet and relaxing. Would definitely stay here again!

    David2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila is a very thoughtful host. The accommodation is cosy and quaint. The living room doubles as a bedroom and opens out onto a conservatory and a little garden. There is a large bathroom with a deep cast iron bath and separate shower. There is a clothes washing machine and a hanging clothes maiden to dry damp jackets or washed clothes. There is lovely stove and Sheila has plenty of dry logs for cold days although the accommodation is centrally heated anyway. The location is close to some interesting walks but most walks in the National Park are a short drive away. The local indian restaurant (about minute drive) is homely and plain but nice food. We didn't try the chippie/pizza takeaway but it looked fine. Nicola and I will definitely try and return.

    Shane2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • You couldn’t wish for a more cosy place. Log burner, huge bath, hot shower, fluffy (and plentiful) towels, comfy bed, private garden, little but practical kitchen made this a lovely base for a weekend away. But what makes this place extra special is Sheila - the thoughtful touches like biscuits in the tin and proper coffee, board games, the offer of a toothbrush if you’ve forgotten yours and extra logs on offer really do make this like visiting a good friend who is a great host. Thank you!

    Ali2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila was a friendly and generous host, and very helpful. The apartment was gorgeous and thoughtfully prepared, perfect to come back to after a long day out in the mountains.

  • This was exactly what we wanted - super cosy and so well looked after. The amenities were beyond expectations and so clean! The location was perfect and we peaceful! We loved our few days away. Highly recommended!!

    Lucy2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The pods are super cute and we were very cozy with the down duvets! A very nice experience overall. The owner gave us some great tips for walking and leant us a map. The price is maybe a little steep but the novelty of staying in a wee wooden hut explains that. One other thing! The showers are amazing. Very powerful and hot. Great stuff. Has everything you need for a short stay.

    Antonia2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stay at the camping pods! Really quick communication before arrival and we were able to check in earlier than 12pm which was so helpful. In a great location for Snowdon, easily connected to other Snowdon routes and nearby villages by bus. Kitchen and bathroom facilities were always clean. Would definitely recommend for a trip to be in the heart of Snowdonia.

  • The little pods are a welcome warm, dry and cosy space to rest your head after adventurous day. The shower rooms are warm and clean with airers to dry and damp clothing. My cosy cottage is a homely getaway which is full of character with a woodburner, lots of artwork, books, antiques, 2 comfy double beds, shower room, and a large lounge/dining room with mountain views. There is a yard and private garden at the back. Great for Zip World, Bounce Below, walking, Snowdon and Coed Brenin (bike hire) and glorious beaches just 12 miles away.
The cottage is located about 1/4 mile from the centre of Blaenau Ffestiniog, brilliant for hiking and activities such as caving (Go Below), cycling, (Coed Brenin) surfing (Dolgarrog) and only 12 miles from the amazing beaches at Porthmadog. There is a Barbeque in the back garden with a table and 4 chairs. There are lots of books and board games to while away the evenings, and some artists materials. The heating system is new and is a gas combi boiler, which is serviced annually, appliances have all been PAT tested.
Very friendly people, with a friendly pub The Manod just 2 minutes up the road.
  • Such a beautiful place to spend a long weekend. We even ended up staying more time indoors than we usually do when away just to enjoy this cozy place. Michelle thought about all the details. We had the fireplace on, we played some of the board games available in the property. There was everything what we needed available. Also there was various guides of what to do in Snowdonia. Although one of the bedrooms faces the main road, it was still very quiet. There was available free parking near the property. It was brilliant. I am really thankful to Michelle for providing us with such a good space to spend some days.

  • Lovely cottage, with views that pictures just don't do justice. Had a lovely stay in February with a mixture of weathers over the four days, but leaflets in the cottage provided us with plenty of options of activities and a cosy place to return to after time in the snow. I'm an over protective dog mum, but felt the cottage was secure to leave her to get dinner etc., and she settled very well. Would definitely visit again as there's so much to see/do in North Wales

    Hannah2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most wonderful time despite the bad weather! The house is lovely, spacious for a family of 4. The beds are really comfy, we really enjoyed our sleep there. Beautiful touches all over the house that give you a feeling that you are home. When we arrived a lovely chocolate cake was waiting for us. Highly recommended!

  • Cosy homely cottage, beautifully decorated, lovely views, walks right from the door and in a friendly village. Loved the cotton bedding and comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, log fire, books and jigsaw! Couldn't have asked for more. Such a relaxing 5 days, plenty to explore locally, and we were just as happy staying in and relaxing by the fire. Thank you!

  • Michelle's home is simply gorgeous. She has decorated it with love and huge artistic flair. There is so much attention to every detail. The beds are comfy and the bedding and bedlinen are lovely quality. The house is extremely cosy with a great selection of DVDs. The kitchen is beautiful and very well equipped including lovely china. Parking is extremely close and all amenities such as Co-op, cash points, cafes, take aways and pub are close at hand. This is the perfect base to explore the area from. I can't wait to return.

An original slate miner's cottage built in the late 1800’s. Located in the slate capital of the world, offering a true taste of the past, but with the benefit of modern living. Our cottage is right next to the crossing for the Ffestiniog narrow gauge steam railway. We are conveniently located within walking distance of Llechedd Slate Mountain Adventure, Zip World and Bounce Below. A five-minute walk will take you into town, where there are shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
Situated in the heart of Snowdonia, as well as its interesting history as a former slate mining town, Blaenau Ffestiniog offers a narrow gauge steam railway, the famous Llechwedd Zip World, Blaenau-Ffestiniog is also a popular destination for walkers with Snowdon around a half hour drive, Tryfan close by and Antur Stiniog for mountain bikers. The property offers two bedrooms, with many original features. Downstairs is a cosy, open plan living area, with Satellite television, super fast Wi-Fi (70-80Mbps) ambient lighting and a fully equipped kitchen. To the back of the property is a shower room and a space which houses the washing machine and dryer. Upstairs are two bedrooms, the master has a double bed and views of the railway. The children's room has bunk-beds and appealing decor. The front garden offers a sitting area to watch the trains and relax with your favourite drink surrounded by views of the mountains. We’ve had some confusion over recent weeks regarding the original stove. It has been left in as an historical feature as we love it but is no longer in service. The cottage has storage heaters, which keep the everything very warm and cosy. There are also 2 oil filled radiators for those especially chilly winter nights.
There is always plenty to do for all ages! Here are just a few of the many local attractions: Portmeirion Portmeirion is one of Wales' premier visitor attractions, with free parking, complimentary guided tours and audio visual show, six cafes and restaurants, half a dozen shops, gardens and beaches it is the perfect day out for all the family. Llechwedd Slate Mountain Adventure, Zip world and Bounce Below. Be ready for an experience of a lifetime, as you are on the doorstep of one of Wales top attractions! With Quarry Explorer, Llechwedd Deep Mine Tour, Titan zip line and an underground trampolining experience. Walking The best footpaths in Snowdinia! The Vale of Ffestiniog boasts a huge range of walks within stunning scenery, often away from the crowds of tourists that flock to other, perhaps, well more known areas of Snowdonia. Walks include the Cwmorthin, Rhosydd and the Cwm Bowydd trails. The Cynfal waterfall. The Vale of Ffestiniog Way. And the Dyffryn Maentwrog and Llyn Mair walks.
  • Great little cosy cottage. We were very happy here :)

  • Angi's adorable little cottage was the perfect pad for our weekend away in wales. The cottage is in a perfect location for exploring wales and down the road from zip world slate caverns. Its been beautifully decorated with fairy lights and they even put colouring books, toys and teddies in the children's bedroom which was such a lovely touch! The cupboards and fridge were even stocked up with condiments and fresh milk which was fantastic! The attention to detail in this place really make this cottage a wonderful stay for all the family. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Our valley cottage is ideal for couples. It is a small but perfectly formed 500 year old dwelling nestled in the idyllic Nantmor Valley near to Beddgelert with walks, along rivers and lanes or over the hills and mountains, all from the front door The outside offers you gorgeous views or you can sit & gaze out onto the hills through the wall of glass from inside this pretty home The woodburner is perfect for those precious evenings of simply relaxing together and enjoying the tranquility
Looking straight out onto the hills and with mountains beyond, this little home is warm and cosy in winter and sunny and bright in the summer. We have plans to add even more to this lovely space over time including a wood fired hot-tub but presently, the landscaping is presently basic with the garden mainly laid to lawn. It has a patio area and a bistro table and chairs to enjoy the wonderful views overlooking the paddocks and hills and.of course, a glass of bubbly. There is a small ensuite shower room, a pretty bedroom with a king sized bed, Living room with the most comfortable settee ever (well, we think so) and a woodburning stove to snuggle up in front of. The kitchen is fully equipped with Bosch dishwasher, oven and hob, a hood extractor fan, a fridgefreezer and a microwave (we offer a free laundry service) There is a bistro dining table and tub chairs in which to sit and relax while looking out at the views through the full length glass gable end. For anyone looking for guests to join them, we also have two rooms in our own home that may be available, please see our other listings for details.
We are in the Snowdonia National Park, a short car ride to Mount Snowdon or a longer walk of four miles to get to the Watkins Path. Our local village is Beddgelert, a pretty mountain community with pubs, restaurants, gift shops and a general and post office store. The exhilarating zip wire rides at Blaenau Ffestiniog are nearby and Bethesda (the largest and fastest in the world) is just a twenty five minute drive. For a more sedate pace, we have some of the loveliest beaches within easy reach and golf courses of high standards including the Royal St David at Harlech. Spring brings the opening of cafes and coffee shops in which to enjoy a bit of people watching, not something you can do in the cottage but you will see the odd sheep, horse or goat!
  • We booked this place based on the brilliant reviews and it lived up to expectations. It's a real gem and would definitely return.

Susie is a great host, and we loved the thoughtful touches on arrival (our name on the gate to welcome us, and little treats in the fridge). The location is beautiful, great for walking and really peaceful. We didn’t want to leave, we will definitely return in the future!

  • We all loved our 7 night stay at Snowdon lodge. It is so peaceful, the only noise being the water in the brook tumbling down over the rocks. The cabin was well equipped and everywhere was clean. It's only 15min. to the car park to climb Snowdon and set in the middle of stunning sceanery. If you need a place to stay while touring North Wales, then Snowdon lodge is ideal. We would certainly stay there again.

  • Lovely cabin, well equipped and very clean with some nice added touches e.g. local info, games and BBQ. It's situated next to a waterfall and stream, beautiful and perfect for relaxing and having meals. Location is great for tackling Snowdon with some good tips from Ed, ideal as a base for visiting other areas of Snowdonia / North Wales as well. Directions from Elaine and Ed were useful for arrival. Overall fantastic and would definitely recommend.

The cabin is the perfect base for exploring Snowdonia and just a short drive from the beautiful village of Beddgelert which has a few shops and nice pubs. The river running along side the cabin is so relaxing and picturesque, it was lovely just to sit and watch it in the mornings and evenings. • A perfectly located cottage for exploring North Wales. Communication with Joanna was great; her instructions on how to find the cottage were clear and the folder full of local walks, restaurant/pub recommendations in the cottage was a thoughtful extra. We really enjoyed our stay at Joanna’s place and would recommend to anyone looking to holiday in North Wales.

Amazing touches, the biscuits went down a treat after our long walk! I loved that Joanna was so organised and gave us some really wonderful walk recommendations, too. It really helped us plan our stay!

She was always responding our queries promptly and gave us all the information needed to make our stay as great as possible. We hope to come back one day to explore wales hopefully in a drier weather condition :) Thanks Joanna!!! We really appreciate you sharing your home with us ♡

  • We came for a hiking weekend and loved the cottage. It's cosy, clean and had everything we needed and more. Loved the fireplace after being battered by wind and rain all day on our hike! Joanna was super helpful with directions and recommendations for walks and pubs (note the village is small, so options at walking distance are limited, but that's part of the charm!)

    Ellen2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful cottage perfectly situated within snowdonia. Would highly recommend!

    Mark2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is exactly as described with everything provided, a real home from home. Joanna was very friendly - warm and welcoming. She knows a great deal about the area and has provided a lot of useful information on where to go to eat/shop/walk etc.. We went in February and although it was cold and wet we had a wonderful time exploring. There is so much to see and do - no time to be bored. The scenery is breathtaking and we found some great beaches. Definitely worth a visit.

As comfortable and lovely the yurts are - Glamping is STILL technically Camping! Please be aware, the yurts will not be as warm as indoor accommodation during exceptionally cold nights in the wintery months. The yurts are perfect for anyone wanting a countryside escape with (a lot!!) more comfort than our campsite has to offer... Or simply those who are after more of a unique feel than 'standard' accommodation can offer! Even though the yurts are based on our campsite, the yurts are in a private position and feel completely separate. Due to this we do not allow camping in the yurt area, nor allow anyone who isn’t on your booking in the yurt, general yurt area or use the glamping facilities. This is a one rule for all. New for 2019 - Our lovely modern toilet block has been FULLY RENOVATED. This is a private toilet block for yurt guests only! (will be shared with our other 3 yurts but NOT with the general campsite) Showers are FREE. (for hygiene reasons please bring your own towels and toiletries, toilet roll is provided.) NO TOWELS ARE PROVIDED NO COOKING FACILITIES NO PLATES / CUTLERY ARE PROVIDED Do not use post code in satnav or airb&b directions. Type Camping in Llanberis into Google maps for accurate directions.
  • Lovely place to stay and had all the amenities you could need for your stay

    Sarah2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable space and close as you can get to Snowdonia!

    Erik2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great two night stay. The electric fire heater heated the whole yurt which was awesome and needed for the time of year, the bed was comfortable, and the space was pretty much private. The newly done bathrooms were clean and warm. Unlike the creepy crawlies you can get with standard campsite bathrooms, the only spiders present in the yurt bathrooms were just a few in the window! Which was awesome because I hate spiders, especially showering with them... Location was ideal as the local town was perfect and it was a 10 min drive to the Miners trail to head up Snowdon!

    Sophie2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt was lovely! We stayed for my boyfriends birthday, it was a perfect location for walking up Snowdon, very warm and welcoming at the end of the day! The shower block was clean and modern, and she even added a birthday banner for us!

    Matilda2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt was really cosy and clean. We really enjoyed our stay here. The campsite is in a great location, very scenic and close to the town. A great place to stay if you want to walk Snowdon as the Llanberis path leads to the campsite.

    Alex2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in the yurt. It’s a great space for a couple of days rest and we felt at home. The location is perfect for those wanting to climb Snowdon and it’s 15 minutes to the village centre. The private toilet block for yurt guests is a nice touch. Really enjoyed and would recommend!

Our secluded cabin is surrounded by ancient oak tree forest and all the wildlife that comes with it. It is so peaceful that you will only hear the river and the birds. Set in 10 acres of our own land for you to explore and easy access to Snowdonia public foothpaths, it is perfect for those looking to spend some time in nature. The cabin itself features private hot tub, wet room, underfloor heating, large deck with bbq, kingsize bed, kitchen, living and dining area and a private cinema.
*Our cabin is very popular and if it’s full for your dates we have another equally wonderful place to stay ‘The Barn Owl’. Find it by clicking on our host profile photo* Our cabin is a nature lovers retreat for those looking for an adventure on foot or 2 wheels, or merely an escape from hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's located in the heart of Snowdonia, surrounded by native ancient forest and the wildlife it supports, nothing but the sound of the river and birdsong. After leaving your car at the garage, make the rest of your journey on foot, a short walk over a bridge by a waterfall and up a tree lined track up towards the cabin. The cabin is a long stone's throw from the main house but enjoys complete privacy through it's own gate and is hidden amongst trees and shrubs. It comprises large furnished deck complete with hot tub, perfect for relaxing in nature and under the stars. Inside there is underfloor heating, kingsize bed, fully equipped kitchen & dining area, wet room and large comfy couch on which to enjoy a full cinema experience. *From mid March we will be changing our hot tub from an electric to a wood fired tub. We think you’ll agree it’s a cut above as we have learned from our other Airbnb rental :) * The cabin is a perfect way to explore this part of Snowdonia, the surrounding area is crisscrossed with walkers paths and bike trails, there are outdoor pursuits galore from surfing to zip wiring over the slate mines. Snowdon itself is close for more great walking, as is Coed y Brenin for mountain biking and Bala for watersports or simply amble through nearby forests, by beautiful rivers and lakes. On a sunny day, the beautiful white sandy beaches of Harlech, Borth y Gest and the Llyn Peninsula are all within a short drive away. Now for the basics, we provide bedding and towels, small welcome pack (for 3+ nights). Eco-sensitive toiletries are provided which we encourage you to use. The cabin comfortably accommodates 2 adults and a further 2 small children or babies and we can supply travel cot, blow up bed and high chair. The cabin has full cinema experience and we have an extensive library for you to choose from. We are both keen walkers and can supply maps or advice on the many local hikes. You can even borrow 'Jake' - our perfect dog - if you promise to take him for a walk!!
Our nearest neighbour is well over 1/2 a mile away. It's you, the trees, the birds and the stars. There are nearby towns of Blaenau Ffestiniog and Porthmadog for your supplies and various pub food and restaurant options. We are also close by to Portmeirion Village.
  • Excellent place already booked our return! Thanks so much!

    Natasha2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and my partner recently spent a week in the cabin, along with our 8 month old puppy. The space is gorgeous - clean, warm and full of thoughtful little touches like prosecco, popcorn and dressing gowns for after the hot tub. Now I mention it the hot tub was amazing - we saw 5 shooting stars whilst relaxing one night and plenty of secure space for the dog to run about. Mark and Lindsay are welcoming and helpful hosts - definitely recommenda stay for anyone needing an escape from the real world!

    Jessica2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cabin, location and hosts!

    Metin2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place. Such a lovely cosy retreat in the heart of the beautiful landscape. From the moment we arrived we fell in love with the place. So much so that on the second morning we had already booked for our next trip there. The cabin is perfect, from the hot tub on the deck to to the lovely comfy bed it couldn't be faulted. The hardest part of the stay was choosing which film to watch from the brilliant DVD collection.. can't recommend enough.

    John2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Lindsay are lovely hosts and great at communicating, very helpful. This is the best air bnb I’ve stayed at! Even staying during the storm we had a lovely time. The cabin is beautiful, and the hot tub and surrounding area is amazing. We found a few treats left for us, and Mark and Lindsay were really quick at responding to any questions, never seeming like we were hassling them. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay. We managed a few hours walking despite the stormy weather (storm Ciara) and the area is really nice. Being in an ancient oak woodland in a hot tub even in bad weather and being able to cosy up with a home cinema screen (blue ray collection is great), is awesome. Highly recommend ‘Us’ if you like to be a bit scared. No complaints at all.

    Anthony2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed here with our dog. All three of us felt well catered for. The cabin has everything you need and extras from Mark and Lindsay that make your stay even better. We loved the enclosed area so our dog could roam around safely whilst we soaked in the hot tub after long walks that were recommended by the hosts. We were provided with so much info about the surrounding areas. It really is a one of a kind kinda place!

    Stevie-Leigh2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, great countryside, well worth a stay

    Jake2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Lindsay’s cabin is a must for anyone looking to escape the rat race. Hidden away in a picturesque valley, the cabin is in an ideal location for rest and recuperation. My partner and I had 3 perfect days, making the most of the walk maps left behind by Mark and Lindsay. It’s ideal for little ones too, as our daughter loved watching the sheep and spending time at the local waterfalls. The evenings were extra special for us, spending time relaxing in the hot tub, staring at the stars, miles from any light pollution or noise. We will certainly visit again!!!!!

  • My partner and I had the best two night break in the pod. It was very romantic, and the views were stunning. The local village was gorgeous and had everything we needed and the locals were lovely too. Only a 15 minute drive to the Miners Track to climb Snowdon too so all-in-all this pod was perfect for us, especially with the hot tub under the stars after our walk. Kirsty was an amazing host, we were left to ourselves but she was only a message away and was very quick at replying to us.

    Amy2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing place to stay, perfect location if you want to climb snowdon which is what we did only 20min drive away. Pod and hot tub were amazing with few hidden extras such as charging points + extra fire wood. Pod was so warm and cozy couldn’t believe it and the views when you wake up on the morning spectacular!!! Would def recommend to anyone

    Laurie2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and beautiful surrounding. We used the hot tub in the morning, climbed snowdonia and came back and it was still warm enough for post-relaxation. Wonderful weekend away here, amazing value ♥️ Ps. We had a wonderful neighbouring pod who we shared a bbq and morning breakfast with (absolute bonus)

A beautiful cottage in the Llanberis Pass, occupying a stunning spot on Snowdon itself. Bordered by a stream and river; access is across a private wooden bridge. Incredible views and straight up onto the mountain for walkers and climbers. *1 dog permitted only by prior agreement - due to livestock etc - and a £20 pet fee, to be paid on arrival.
Delightful mountain cottage in the heart of the Welsh 3000s, with direct routes up to the peak of Snowdon, Crib Goch, the Glyders and Tryfan. Wake up each day to enjoy the fascinating and ever changing landscape, enjoying that first coffee/tea overlooking a mountain stream. We keep free range rescue chickens, so there is a steady supply of eggs for you to purchase at low cost if you want fresh eggs for breakfast.
Your local pub is the Vaynol Arms in Nant Peris and serves real ale; a dog-friendly climbers/walkers pub. It's around 15 minutes walk away and the lanes can be pitch black at night, so bring a torch :) A short drive further up the Llanberis Pass is the Pen y Gwryd hotel, where Hillary and Tenzing trained for the first successful ascent of Mount Everest in 1953. They signed the ceiling, so don't forget to look out for that! The bar is famous for its photos of mountaineers who have trained on Snowdon for Everest.
  • Amazing little cottage at the bottom of Snowdon. Had a great time!

  • We absolutely loved Ty Maen and the breathtaking scenery. Finding ourselves sandwiched between storm Ciara and Dennis certainly made it a wild week. The cottage was a welcome and comfortable retreat to both shelter from and observe the dramatic weather conditions and would be a lovely place to return to after a day in the mountains. Lisa and Chris were fantastic hosts and worked incredibly hard to help us ferry our belongings to the cottage when we arrived. They also make awesome welsh cakes.

    Kristel2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved are stay here, the location is perfect an the views are spectacular!!! The cottage itself is very cosy an Lisa left some very nice welsh cakes in the fridge which was a lovely touch. Look forward to staying again in the future.

This is a compact, functional single bedroom in a recently refurbished townhouse on Llanberis High Street. Ideal to use as a base while exporing the area or a stop over on your travels Wash hand basin, Desk, 32" TV, USB charging points & Hot drinks machine in room. Bathroom is shared on the same floor. Strictly non smoking. Off street private parking (at owners risk etc). There is an area inside the house for safe cycle storage if required.
Grove House is a recently refurbished townhouse (19th century so some squeaky floorboards) on Llanberis High Street. It is towards the end of the village so a little quieter than the centre but bear in mind there may be some traffic/pedestrian noise from the main street. Around a minute's walk to the famous Pete's Eats cafe for breakfast and also a lovely Indian restaurant/take away. 2 mins from a great fish & chip shop and kebab/pizza takeaway.
Llanberis is packed with enough attractions to keep visitors busy for weeks. But first, there’s the lakeside location at the foot of Snowdon (the highest mountain in England and Wales at 1085 metres). When you’re tired of walking beside the water – which you won’t be – take a ride on two narrow-gauge lines, the Llanberis Lake Railway and Snowdon Mountain Railway. The latter climbs almost to the doorstep of the stunning Hafod Eryri Visitor Centre. Lots to see and do in lakeside Padarn Country Park. The National Slate Museum recalls Snowdonia’s rich industrial heritage, Electric Mountain invites you into its awesome high-tech underground world, while Dolbadarn Castle takes you back a thousand years to the time of the native Welsh princes. If that isn’t enough there are craft shops and watersports too, though most outdoor fans come for the walking. As well as the mountain paths, follow the self-guided Llanberis Heritage Trails taking you to fascinating places around the village.
  • Lovely clean single room; was perfect as accommodation for the Snowdonia marathon weekend. I can highly recommend this room as it was clean and everything I needed was present.

  • Niel was honestly a super host! He was very communicative from when I booked. He was very kind to offer to fetch me from the station and take me back the following day, which was greatly appreciated. He gave me some recommendations of where to have dinner and of course breakie after the Snowdon climb. I also got back from the hike and he had the tv on, all ready, as we did speak about the World Cup and that id hope to make it down the mountain in time to watch my team play! His place is located on the high street, so this is a prime spot! My room was great! En-suite bathroom, comfortable, clean, and has the nice touches of a coffee machine & bathroom amenities. I would highly recommend Niel and his place to stay and most certainly look forward to stopping over there again.

    Kylie2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Value for money - excellent location

    Michael2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at Niel’s place. The house is in a good location with an easy access to public transport. There’s a local grocery shop 5min walk away and a few restaurants/pubs. I loved how close to the lake the house was. Llanberis itself is also a great starting point for your adventures in the mountains. As a guest you get access to shared kitchen and living room, and a set of keys to your room as well as front door. The house is clean. The bathroom is huge and the room itself very cosy. There was a also a hot drinks machine in a room which I think is a brilliant idea. Neil was very lovely and helpful with giving tips on how to get around and he even offered me a lift back to the train station in Bangor! I had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend Neil and his accommodation. Thanks again!

    Kasia2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Niel's place is a recently refurbished and comfortable BnB in the centre of Llanberis. Close to all amenities in the village and amongst beautiful scenery. Niel is a great host and goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is enjoyable. He even picks you up and drops you off at Bangor railway station which is a really convenient and stress free way to begin and end your stay. I had a single room with flat screen tv, pod coffee maker in the room and comfy bed. Very peaceful for a good nights sleep. I strongly recommend and plan to return.

    Colin2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Niel was really friendly and approachable. He responded to my messages quickly. The room was clean, as was the bathroom and kitchen. The place is in a really good location in the centre of town. I had a really good night's sleep and felt totally refreshed the next day.

    hazel2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • I couldn't fault my stay. Niel was able to accommodate my requests, he has add lots of thoughtful touches and the bed was super comfortable. I wouldn't look to stay anywhere else should I return to Llanberis.

    Flo2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • A clean well run, residence central for all things in Llanberis. After a hard day trekking in the area the essential need is for a really good shower to wash away the miles. Niel has all that at his home. Wholeheartedly recommended.

  • A beautiful lodge which really feels like something different. It had the COMFIEST bed I have ever slept in. A beautiful fire to light up the room. Make sure you bring something to play DVDs with if you're planning for a movie night, as there is a great DVD selection. Thank you!

  • Breathtaking location! Perfect for a long weekend.

    Angharad2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • You will never sleep in a more comfy bed. The cabin is a special little place tucked away in the woods and you feel extremely cosy and adventurous staying there. The hosts are great and super helpful/made some really thoughtful touches in the cabin. Highly recommended!

  • Had really high hopes and expectations and have to say the place was even better than I had hoped for, truly idyllic place to escape to and have some quality down time. Perfectly placed to get around and explore the local area and what it has to offer. Everything was exactly as described definitely recommend it.

  • Had a brilliant stay in this cosy little cabin. Private and secluded with trees all around, it is a beautiful place that made our trip to Snowdon even more special!

    Gavin2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at Serena's lodge cabin. The place is beautiful! Off the track, surrounded by trees, nature, and Snowdonia's beauty. The cabin itself was better than expected. It is spacious, super clean, and Serena cared about every single detail - she even put decorations, bords games, and DVDs for the guests. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can make some food before exploring Snowdonia or after the long way of walking around the Park. The fireplace was absolutely amazing, it was lovely to sit by it in the evening. The cabin is centrally heated and when we had some inquiries on changing the temperature or the time of the central heating operating, Serena immediately helped us with that. The communication with the Host was perfect. The cabin is located just a few minutes walk from the waterfall and it is a very good starting point for going to Snowdon. The experience was amazing, much better than staying in one of the cottages down in the village. If you need some privacy and love nature - I definitely recommend!

    Joanna2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had a fantastic time in this beautiful little cabin. It was so peaceful and the scenery was spectacular. Serena made life so easy thanks to her quick communication.

  • Our stay at the cottage was wonderful. Pictures do not do it justice. It is hard to imagine any better place to be after long cold walks. We enjoyed fireplace and reading available books.

  • We all loved this cabin. It was a welcome sight after a day of hiking and was very cosy. Was a bit chilly at first as there is no log burner but after a while the electric heaters made it comfortable. Excellent Facilities for. A cabin and lots of privacy even though you are situated close to others. Would highly reccomend and happily stay here again

Hirka is an award-winning house with lovely views over the surrounding mountains. It is in Nantmor, near Beddgelert, within the Snowdonia National Park. There are two bedrooms, a double and a twin. The bathroom has a bath with shower over. There is a modern fitted kitchen, and a lounge/dining room with TV, broadband and a fixed line telephone for emergencies. There are wooden floors throughout and oil fired heating and hot water.
Outside, the drive has parking for several cars and there is a pretty landscaped garden with seating area. Note: take care with children and elderly/infirm in parts of the garden, due to the seasonal stream and rocky areas.
Nantmor is close to Beddgelert, which has several pubs, restaurants, ice cream shop and gift shops etc. From the house there is a halt for the steam train to Porthmadog and Caernarfon. It is great base for outdoor pursuits. From sandy beaches to Europe’s longest zip wire. There a great walks from the house or Snowdon is a few minutes away if you want something a bit more challenging.
  • I am not sure what can be better than this. Everything waht you need and what you imagine for you best holidays is at this place.

    Anshuman2020-02-25T00:00:00Z

A quirky, well hidden little house with excellent broadband wifi (no TV!) that sits directly above the Ffestiniog railway in its own private grounds. Set in an exceptionally attractive and self contained location, it has a cosy, secluded and intimate atmosphere- "gemütlich", as the Germans would say. But NOT for everyone- read below! If you think that that either Brexit or reading papers like the Mail, Sun or Express is a good way of improving the world this house may not appeal.
We have not been doing this long so please be patient with us. What follows is mostly negative stuff to ensure you don't have false expectations! This house is definitely for people looking for something a little different. Please note that some people will regard the following as defects: Not simple to find, I'm afraid! I recommend that you actually read the directions that I will send you if you book. PLEASE DON't OMIT TO READ THEM and then mark us down because you have been walking aimlessly in the rain looking for us! It has happened on several occasions. A large flight of 50 steps up to the footbridge and path that leads to the house- not for the infirm! Can be very slippery in freezing conditions. Although electric heaters are supplied, the principal heat source is the Morso multi fuel stove- which is brilliant and heats the place in no time. You need to feel confident about rising to the challenge of managing this! Please note that for ease of locking and unlocking the handle on the front door needs lifting. It is a small house. Ronwen and myself feel that if there are three or four of you you are pushing things a little for space. You need to be good friends or close family! There is no privacy between the side bedroom and main bedroom even though the second bedroom has a door leading to it from the main bedroom at the top of the stairs- you need to decide if this is an issue for you! If the booking is for two people and you would like to make use of the second bedroom, please tell us otherwise we shall assume you are sleeping together!. We are not psychic. A torch is recommended for negotiating the path in the dark. Because the house is not new build (to put it mildly) and some of the work is not to modern standards, the toilet and shower room may not appear squeaky clean (I assure you they are). We were marked down a couple of clients who couldn't find anything unclean there but thought it couldn't possibly be clean because it was old! Beware, it has brass taps and exposed copper pipes, the latter of which I dont mind wiping but absolutely refuse to polish. Not suitable for some children- there is an 8' drop and steep banks at the rear of the house that require awareness, common sense and caution. Downstairs floor consists of a well worn floor covered with rugs- i.e. no wall to wall carpet. No central heating- see above about the stove, for which we supply adequate fuel. Water is heated by propane gas which should be very reliable unless freezing conditions prevail. A tremendous high pressure shower. The furnishings will be a little too 'eclectic' for some people's taste (see photos & intro). Be warned that Sykes Cottages considered us unsuitable because of the brass taps, furniture that did not match and a rather expensive leather couch ("that would have to go")- not to mention the various banks and drops around the house that would need to be fenced off. It must be a miracle our children survived living here! Be aware! PETS (preferably no more than one) are welcome but only if you can assure us that they will not under any circumstances go on a bed or the sofa. Also, we have come very close to saying no to dogs in future because a couple of guests left mountains of dog mess all over the property. We take the cleanliness of the place seriously. As well as high speed wifi provision there is a wireless enabled Bose which will play your music in decent quality.
We think we live in one of the most attractive and characterful parts of this interesting slate town. Mountains to the back of the house and loads of private space. You have here easy access to all of Snowdonia, one of the most exceptionally varied and beautiful areas of Great Britain. As a long term resident and ex guide I have a pretty extensive knowledge of everything around should you wish to tap into it. There are also the famous zip wires, the Antur Stiniog downhill biking, Bounce Below and Llechwedd Slate Caverns more our less on our doorstep- the latter also offers a guided tour around the upper quarries in one of the old lorries which everyone says is extremely interesting. And lots more besides!- e.g. Cell B in the town is a great place have a drink in the evening; it is also an excellent little cinema with high quality sound and visuals (the same resolution as Cineworld but on a smaller screen). The Meirion is local pub whose meals have been praised. The Lakeside is a brilliant, very reasonably priced caff in a wonderful setting next to mountains and lake just down the road from us. In the town there also numerous characterful cafes. The Quarryman's Arms is a newly opened and instantly popular eatery that is much praised by people who go there- basic but well cooked meals.
  • Just back from a wonderful stay at Jim’s place. Everything was just perfect. Set in a stunning position the house had everything we needed. Really well equipped kitchen, very comfy bed, and a great place to relax in front of a roaring fire at night. We tried the “Tap”, the local pub up the road and were made very welcome. It was a strange week with the rapid spread of coronavirus, but we reckon we were in the perfect place to be calm whilst all around us was panic buying loo roll and pasta! We’d love to come back again. Good luck to you both during this pandemic. We hope you’re open for business again soon!

    Veronica2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic experience here in this wonderfully characterful cottage. The cosy accommodation is only a 15 minute walk to town and has a number of easily accessible walks from the door. We also enjoyed some fantastic local attractions and outdoor activities. Our hosts Jim & Ronwen provided plenty of information about the local area and things to do and kindly left us some welcome supplies. A great experience all in.

    Scott2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place to stay if you are looking to relax and unwind for a few days! The property is in a perfect location for many different walks and a perfect base for travelling to different locations within Snowdonia . We could not fault Jim and Ronwyn one bit! Incredibly accommodating and more than willing to help with recommendations of places to visit and things to do! We ran out of logs one day and Jim was over in minutes to replenish our stock, in the pouring rain too! I could not recommend this place highly enough! We will definitely be coming back.

    Ethan2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jim's cottage is perfect. We stayed during a particularly wild Welsh weekend and really enjoyed a cosy stay sheltering from the storm. It had everything we needed. The location is a great base for the coast and other parts of the national park. So nice and would recommend to other travellers!

  • This place is great! A proper Welsh cottage away from it all. The house is lovely and very clean throughout. Jim is a great host who kept in touch with us to make sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend this place!!

  • My wife and I quietly celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary at Pant Goch. It is a beautiful cottage in quite a remarkable setting. Dramatically set against a mountain side with a steam railway track immediately in front of the property (not a busy line though, we neither saw nor heard a train during our 3 night stay!). We were welcomed in the cottage by a already lit coal burning stove, candles, fresh welsh cakes, crumpets for breakfast and a bottle of wine set on the table with two glasses. The bed was very comfy, the shower powerful and hot. The whole cottage was exactly the type of rural welsh retreat we hoped for. Clean, tidy and very cosy. Jim was incredibly friendly and accommodating. For instance, we were running low on coal so after asking if there was any more, literally 5 mins later fresh coal and logs were delivered, with a smile, in the rain! A lovely friendly touch. Also, Jim was able to provide us with very helpful and in-depth info on local walks and amenities. One particular walk recommend was an absolute joy during a sunny January day. The cottage is equipped with games, musical instruments and walking maps. You’ll need nothing more whilst you’re there. We enjoyed three lovely evenings in after long days walking, cooking for ourselves in a well equipped and easy to use traditional kitchen. Jim’s cottage is one of our very favourite places we’ve stayed in the UK. I couldn’t recommend nor commend the place more. Visit Pant Goch, I’m sure like we did you’ll love it! Thanks Jim, see you in the summer! James and Sophie x

  • A great little place to stay if you want to get away from things and relax by the fire for a few days. Good instructions from Jim meant we found the place with no problems. He was a great host, unobtrusive but always available if we needed anything.

Our family home is at the bottom of Wales highest mountain, in the popular town of Llanberis. Life just doesn't get boring here, its busy enough to feel alive while managing to hold on firmly to Wales well known peaceful pace and blissful existence. We are perfectly located for anyone who loves the mountains and is craving some down time. Come and share our space for a few days, we love where we live and want to show the world why!
Our house is a home. Nothing is precious but everything special. We have a warm, family vibe going on. A tribe of different ages keeps things fairly straightforward and brings a nice sense of balance to the house. Plenty of room means we can congregate and enjoy each other when we choose. Peaceful, playful and practical!!
Its easy. School is a stroll away, all your outdoor and mountaineering equipment right here in town. So many amazing places to eat here, a few good local drinking spots. Spar, chemist, doctors etc all right here in town. Then Bangor or Caernarfon a short drive away. Even the sea is super close with the nearest beach Dinas Dinlle being the perfect place to enjoy a stunning sunset!
  • My stay at Carla’s was so amazing! Carla’s home was so comfy and cozy — I was so relieved to get in my first night and run a nice hot bath. There was a sweet set up of teas, coffee, hot chocolate mix etc., and Welsh cakes in my room so I could make myself something to drink without going downstairs to the kitchen. I was given all the space I needed — peace and quiet — but also knew that Carla was there to help if need be. She was very helpful and kind when I accidentally messed up the lock box and she sorted everything out without any sort of judgment. She was very quick with her responses — great communication. And, she generously invited me on a little adventure with some of her hiking pals on the last day of my stay. They drove me out with them to the Rhinog mountains and navigated us through some beautiful trails. Definitely a day to remember — a great hike w some great people. She really went above and beyond. Her home is so lovely and I couldn’t recommend it enough! Book, book, book!

  • If you're looking for premier inn or boutique style accommodation then move on. This is a family home, clearly stated in the blurb and an attic room with bathroom next door ( we had sole use) Low bed under the rafters, extremely comfortable. So welcoming and flexible when we had a delay for a later arrival. Carla and the children are wonderful and we loved our one night stay. Thank you

The room is basic, but clean and as described and everything you may need during your stay is provided.

The kitchen area is well equipped and is modern in styling with spotlighting, whilst retaining a country cottage look and feel to it. Situated in the village of Tanygrisiau, meaning ‘Under the Steps’, a close neighbour of the larger town, better known as Blaenau Ffestiniog. An ideal location for exploring the attractions Snowdonia offers. There are some fantastic walks, lakes & waterfalls from the cottage too. The village has a local pub called The King’s Head (locally known as the Tap) which is about a 20 minute walk away, and there is a local bus service which runs regularly into Blaenau Ffestiniog and can be picked up at the end of the terrace. There is also Tanygrisiau Lakeside Café a 2 minute walk away which offers a wide choice of snacks & meals during the day, including a good breakfast menu which will set you up for the day.
  • Perfect cottage for a romantic getaway! The cottage has everything you could possibly need for a perfect holiday. We also loved the fact that the cottage is dog friendly so we could take our pup with us. x

  • We really enjoyed our time at Angie's. The cottage is located in a very sweet village that gives you easy access to Snowdonia. Angie has lots of information in the cottage to help you make the most of the area and what it has to offer. The cottage itself is like a home away from home - very comfortable with a log fire and a great kitchen with everything you need to cook homely meals. The cottage is very tastefully decorated with lots of lovely touches. We loved the arrival surprise that was left for us! We would definitely recommend staying here and would love to come back.

This is a twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom (shower, toilet, wash basin) in a recently refurbished townhouse on Llanberis High Street. 32" TV, USB charging points & Hot drinks machine in room. Strictly non smoking. Off street private parking (at owners risk etc). There is an area inside the house for safe cycle storage if required.
Grove House is a recently refurbished townhouse on Llanberis High Street.
  • My trip was cancelled at the last minute and Niel generously refunded more money than was required of him. Though I never met him face to face I think he is a super host and super human being.

  • Very conveniently located on the main street of Llanberis, Niels place is an ideal location from which to explore Snowdonia. The room was warm and clean and guests are allowed to make full use of the kitchen and lounge area. Neil was a great host and checking in and out was very easy. I would definitely stay again!

  • Great base for checking out Snowdonia. The Snowdon Mountain Railway is just down the street, which you can walk to in 10 minutes. Also located very close to a lot of cafes and a Spar, so everything is easy to get. Niel was a great host and offered to keep me up to date on weather conditions. Also a bonus if you're a cat lover like I am, as he fosters them.

  • Niel is actually better than a superhost. He went out of his way to help me get around the place. I was travelling solo and couldn't have found a better place to stay. He is very cool and is always positive on anything you request. Best Airbnb experience till now in UK. 5 stars all the way

  • Niel is an amazing host. His space is in central Llanberis - very close to all the amenities that you read about, and a great location for Snowdon. He is kind and considerate, collecting me from the train station (I am so grateful for this) and even dropping me to pen y pass for my Friday 13th trip to complete the Snowdon Horseshoe. A nice touch to have a coffee machine in the bedroom too. Such a treat. Thank you so much. I really enjoyed my stay.

Buarthau at NookSnowdonia is a Grade II listed cottage nestled in the mountains under a vast sky, and provides the ideal base to explore the wild beauty of Snowdonia. It's a secluded hideaway but within reach of sandy beaches, mountains and attractions of North Wales. The cottage has original features including an inglenook fireplace with woodburner and some low, unconventional doors. 100% powered by renewable energy, with underfloor heating to keep you cosy. Discounts available for long stays.
Our cottage is over 250 years old with some original features including 18th century graffiti in the slate living room floor. Low doors and thick stone walls create a magical and peaceful environment and will keep you feeling safe and snug if the weather takes a turn for the worse. The cottage sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms (1 king, 1 twin, 1 adult sized bunk) and there is space for a travel cot for the smallest travellers. There are 2 bathrooms one with shower and one with small sit in bath tub. Wood burning stoves and underfloor heating make for a cosy stay, whatever the season and complimentary wood is provided at the start of your stay. The kitchen with views out to back garden has an oven, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, and comfortable dining table. Wifi (satellite) , TV, DVD player, games, iPod dock are provided to guests. The cottage is situated in 90 acres of land in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. A stream runs past the front of the cottage to lure you to sleep and also provides the perfect spot for riverside campfires, paddling, and lazying in a hammock or river den. Behind the cottage, the land climbs to over 200m, and you're welcome to explore to find views down to the sea or across to Snowdon and the other beautiful mountain peaks. Guests have exclusive use of our wood-fired hot tub- located in the old pigsty about 50m from the house in which you can hopefully rest weary muscles and tired heads from a day of walking. Guests have responsibility for the hot tub during their stay but we can often be on hand to assist.
Buarthau in a secluded valley on a single track road. However, we are only 10mins drive from Beddgelert, a beautiful Welsh village which has a number of pubs and restaurants, as well as convenience store. The nearby mountains, lakes and coast are the stars of the area and are all easily accessible within 10-20mins. If you needs supplies, Tesco will deliver if booked in advance otherwise In Porthmadog (20mins) you will be able to find all that you need for your stay in North Wales. All of the paths up Snowdon can be accessed within 30minutes from the cottage. We're within 45mins drive of most of Snowdonia's main attractions including Zipwires, Surf Snowdonia and mountain railways.
  • We had a fantastic time. Location is stunning and really feels away from it all! The cottage is really beautiful and full of character. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and there were great walking guide books and maps. Instructions for the hot tub (which is great!) and wood burner were really clear and Nick and Charlotte made us feel really welcome. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great getaway to a beautiful part of the country.

  • Myself and 3 friends stayed here for a weekend to enjoy the outdoors and a bit of girly time. Nick greeted us on arrival (even though we turned up an hour later than planned in the dark and wet!) and went over the amenities, walking routes and some tips for our weekend and then left us to enjoy our weekend. We had a lovely day of walking on the Saturday into the local village and used the very helpful walking guides from in the house to work out our routes. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable for us. We didn't end up in hot tub as the weather was really quite poor but hopefully we'll be back to try that out soon! Wifi in and out, but we all secretly loved that! The cottage is really very remote, but we loved it and I know many more that will too, I fully recommend a stay here if you want to switch off and enjoy the beautiful Welsh mountains and outdoors. Thank you Nick and Charlotte for a great weekend!

  • A superb cottage with first rate hospitality with Nick and Charlotte who couldn’t have been more helpful before and during our stay. A fantastic cottage, maintained to a very high standard, amazing location and to top it off a wood burning hot tub. A definite recommend.

  • The cottage is small, but it was perfect for two couples with small children. We loved the wood burning fireplace and Nick & Charlotte's commitment to energy efficiency and recycling.

  • This is such a great little cottage, the pictures really don’t do it justice as to how pretty it is inside and out. We stayed as a family of 4 with a baby and stayed during Storm Denis. The cottage was so cosy that we didn’t even notice the storm outside, and we all had a really relaxing time! This was a great base for exploring and we visiting Conwy and Caernarfon whilst there. Nick and Charlotte were lovely and we had great communication on the lead up to they stay. We will definitely be back another time!

  • What a wonderful stay. The cottage is beautiful. So warm, lovely sheets and a fantastic shower. Fantastic location for Snowdon. Really wild, a true country retreat. Nick and Charlotte were so helpful and welcoming.

  • An amazing cottage in the perfect location for exploring snowdonia. We rented the cottage as a party of 6 adults which we had plenty of space with everything you could ask for. We spent our last night under the stars in the wood fired hot tube which was something pretty special! We will be back.

Very spacious, comfortably furnished traditional cottage in the mountain pass hamlet of Nant Gwynant, 3 ½ miles north of Beddgelert, in the heart of Snowdonia National Park. Just 2 ½ miles from Snowdon summit as the crow flies, the cottage enjoys dramatic views of Lliwedd and the Snowdon range.
Originally 3 separate miner's cottages from about 1860, Glyn Awel is well-equipped throughout and includes a large farmhouse style dining kitchen with wood burning stove a large comfortable lounge with inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove, TV, and media centre with a selection of DVDs. Ultrafast FTTP Wireless broadband, parking for up to 4 cars. The large rear garden is on several levels and is the perfect place to enjoy a barbecue with tremendous views (BBQ and garden furniture are provided); however, steep terraces mean that young children will need to be supervised outside. The rear yard has gates which when closed seals off the garden for dogs or children.
The Watkin path up Snowdon starts 1/4 mile away; and the Snowdon Sherpa bus network runs past the cottage making many round trips possible. Other attractions such as Porthmadog, Black Rock Sands Beach, Portmeirion, Llanberis, Criccieth Castle and Betws-y-Coed are all about 30 minutes scenic drive away by car. Licensed cafe 1/4 mile way, otherwise the nearby charming village of Beddgelert offers local shops and a range of pubs and restaurants and access to the Welsh Highland Railway. Clear skies and lack of light pollution make this a great place for night vistas, too. Plenty of walking at all levels straight from the cottage door.
