  • We had an action packed weekend and this accommodation was a great base. Excellently situated for local attractions and has a local shop and great vegan restaurant on the door step. The accommodation was really clean and we had everything we needed. I was even able to bake a birthday cake!! Highly recommend this place.

  • Paula's cottage was lovely to relax in after a long day, and we enjoyed having the entire place to ourselves. The cottage was warm, spacious and clean, and the kitchen had almost everything we needed to feel like we were at home (the only thing we felt was missing was cling film or foil for leftovers). The cottage is very well placed for walking or Zip World, and was quiet on a night.

  • This little place is a real gem. Lovely little home, in walking distance to Portmeirion. The house was absolutely spotless. Would definitely stay here again. 👌🏻

  • Paula’s place in Snowdonia is fantastic! It is a small cottage with easy parking and views of mountains as soon as you walk out of the front door. It was perfectly clean, stocked with dishes, towels, blankets, tea, coffee, books, and more. There is TV, WiFi, and it is in an excellent location for short drives into Snowdonia National Park. Check in was easy. Just get the lockbox combination, get the key out and go inside. I highly recommend it!

  • Lovely little place with 2 good size single rooms and one big double room with lots of lovely homely touches, would definitely recommend for groups of 3 individuals or a couple and two others.

    Ben2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is a perfect base in beautiful Snowdonia, even Storm Dennis couldn't ruin it for us! Paula's place is spotlessly clean and stylish and super cosy, we absolutely loved it there. Communication with host was great even down to recommendations. The village itself is quiet and there is plenty of on-street parking (to the front and rear), we had no problem parking all weekend. A little spar shop round the corner had everything we needed although there is a big Tesco in nearby Porthmadog which we also popped in when passing. We went to Porthmadog for a meal Friday night (about 5-10minutes drive) and stayed in with a take away from the Indian restaurant (just around the corner) Saturday night. We did the Caverns (high ropes in a cave) and ZipWorld Caverns (15 minute drive) Saturday - highly recommend and did Bounce Below there Sunday afternoon as the Fforest Coaster was shut due to the storm - Bounce Below is great for kids! We left super early Sunday morning to tackle Snowdon - it's about a 35 minute drive to Pen-Y-Pass and about 40 minutes to Llanberis. All in all we had the perfect weekend, thanks Paula!

    Sophie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Paula's cottage. It is beautiful and cosey, especially the lovely open fire. The location is great - just a short walk to the high street with a cafe, pub and restaurant and easy drive to all the hikes we wanted to do.

    Amy2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely place to stay, so clean and well presented. Perfect base for climbing Snowdon and situated in a lovely village. Paula is an excellent host and gave us lots of information about the local area and where to go when asked. Couldn’t fault a thing and will definitely be back! Thank you:)

  • Nice place to stay near Portmeirion. Delyth is so nice and her place is super clean. Highly recommended!

    Yue2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Neil and I are walking the Welsh Coastal Path and Delyth’s place is the perfect location for anyone looking to do the same , as the house is situated on the Coastal Path in Penrhyndeudraeth , which is either the start or the end of the Llyn peninsular depending on which way you are walking . An added bonus of this property is your own living / dining area , with kettle , fridge and toaster . Breakfast is also provided and as the host doesn’t serve a cooked breakfast you have the added advantage of having breakfast as and when it suits you . Plenty of choice so you really don’t miss the bacon and eggs at all !! Deltyh was a wonderful host , nothing was too much trouble , the house was spotlessly clean . I would recommend staying here .

Spacious, comfy cottage in Snowdonia near Portmeirion with great views. Idris Bach is laid out over three floors. It is a roomy, one-bedroom cottage for two people. Location ideally suited for walking, climbing, steam trains or just relaxing.
BEDROOM The bedroom’s TV has a built-in DVD player in case you can't drag yourself out of bed. If you need help waking up, there's a clock radio with an mp3 input. When you are lounging in bed in the morning, it might seem a long way down to the kitchen, so there's a small kettle for you to make a cuppa or two. The large wardrobe with built-in drawers should provide adequate space for your clothes, and there's extra drawer space in the bedside cabinets. We've also provided a hair-dryer in case you leave yours behind. LOUNGE From the living room you can enjoy the fabulous mountain view without even having to get up off the sofa! There's also a cuddle chair for you to snuggle up together in – though you may want to keep it all to yourself and just curl up to read a book or enjoy the view. Of course, there's also a TV (with freesat) and DVD player, as well as a stereo with DAB radio, CD and iPod dock. There's a selection of DVDs, CDs, books and board games to keep you entertained, as well as walking guides/maps and even a Spanish guitar in case you wish to serenade your companion. KITCHEN The kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven/grill, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, toaster and there's a washing machine, ironing board and iron in the utility room. There are a few restaurants within walking distance but the kitchen is well-equipped with all the pots and pans you might need if you choose to cook at home every night. There is a spacious dining area. The table is carefully positioned by the window to allow you take in the scenery while you dine. A stable door opens onto the patio, so that you can enjoy the view of the Snowdonia mountains and the Glaslyn estuary whether you choose to sit inside or out. BATHROOM The bathroom features a walk-in electric shower, Egyptian cotton towels and, with the blind open, one of the best loo views in Wales. It is situated on the top floor next to the bedroom. GARDEN Idris Bach cottage is perched on a hillside, with a south-facing garden enjoying views of the Glaslyn estuary below and the Snowdonia mountains towards Harlech and Cader Idris beyond. The garden is on two levels, with the lower terrace featuring a small summerhouse, where you can sit and enjoy the view and watch the sheep grazing below even when it rains! The cast-iron table and chairs on the top patio outside the kitchen are a little too heavy to move around, so there are also folding chairs in the summerhouse provided for you. PARKING Within 100 metres of the property.
  • Great house, perfect for couples, very welcoming and some nice finishes. Perfect location for hiking up Snowdon and the surrounding area, book while you can!

    Alex2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay and were delighted to find the teabags, welsh cakes and wine waiting for us in the kitchen. I especially liked all the suggested walks in the information pack - I made good use of those. We really recommend the cottage for anyone looking for a cosy base within 5 minutes walking distance of Penrhyn station (Ffestiniog steam railway).

Nestled in magnificent Snowdonia is our 1950's home. It's only a stroll away from Portmeirion (perfect location for wedding guests), less than 2 miles from harbour town Porthmadog and is surrounded by mountains, seasides, castles, woodlands and steam trains. You’ll love my place because of its cosy old Welsh feel and is ideally located for all activities and with it's relaxing surroundings. My place is good for couples, families (with kids) and small (well behaved!) groups.
2 Cae Eithin has been in our family since it was built and therefore holds a special place in our hearts. It still has many original features such as a cast iron bath, wooden floorboards and a traditional fireplace. With selective furniture and decor of the 1960's it is true to its originality. Having no gas mains here in Minffordd the house is all electric and fitted with storage heaters throughout. There are a couple of portable heaters here if required. The sitting room does have an electric fire that you can put on. With a well equipped kitchen, cooker, fridge and microwave you can cook that favourite meal and then dine 'al fresco' on a warm summer evening on the patio overlooking the lawn and catching the last rays of the setting sun. In the cosy sitting room after a busy day what could be nicer than to bring out the board games! Or maybe snuggle up on the sofa and read one of the many available books . The bright and spacious bathroom has the original cast iron bath with bullet taps, sink and toilet with the added luxury of an .electric shower over the bath. The master bedroom has 2 singles that I can push together to make a king size bed, overlooks the back garden and catches the setting sun. The front bedroom has 2 sumptuous single beds and decorated with 60's style wallpaper . With the third bedroom being the smallest of the three, has a single bed and funky sixties bedlinen and curtains! We have recently been hooked up to the internet... so now boast WIFI !!!! 2 Cae Eithin is a sanctuary and a respite from your very busy lives.
Minffordd is in the arm pit of the Afon Dwyryd and the Irish sea and central to so many attractions. Access to the water is possible although care must be taken on the sands due to very fast tides. We have many beautiful walks around the village with stunning views of the Snowdonia mountain range and Afon Dwyryd. Central to many local attractions, Zip World, Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland railways. With stunning Portmeirion the Italianate village in walking distance it has to be visited.
  • We enjoyed a lovely 2 day break at kathy’s. The house had everything we needed and more. Beautifully decorated throughout. Beds were so comfy. No problem with the on-street car parking. Lovely little back garden. Well stocked kitchen. Nice to meet Kathy. Lots of local info leaflets. We spent a day in Portmeirion which is just on the drop step. Would love to go back again.

Kathy is such a welcoming host, we are already planning to return.

  • Beautiful setting. Very easy to get to many of North Wales’s top attractions and plenty of things to do in the local area as well. Great host with superb breakfast and a good range of choices too; can give you lots of tips on things to do including special events and recommendations on places to eat in the evenings. We enjoyed spending an extended week (9 nights) here and would definitely recommend!

  • What a charming place! A proper B&B with traditional antique decor, Mirain has done an amazing job of restoring and updating the property. We were provided everything we needed and a few things we didn’t expect. The property is very well-organized with attention to detail. The bathroom was extraordinary and met every need we had. The traditional breakfasts were delicious with so many options to choose from. Mirain is an award-winning chef and it showed! The location is in a cozy village in Porthmadog. It’s just down the street from Portmarion (Italian Village) and Snowdon peak. Driving in the area can be a bit of a challenge with narrow, winding roads, so be prepared! Overall, we highly recommend the property and the experience!

  • Great house. Great location. Central to lots of activities. Highly rate this place.

  • This is truly a Five Star guesthouse. Our room was excellent and the en suite bathroom was modern like you might find in any upscale hotel in America. Miriam was an excellent hostess and made us feel most welcome. Her traditional Welsh breakfasts cater for every dietary need. We would have no hesitation recommending this B&B. Dave & Shirley E.

  • This was a jewel of a find. Where to start? Met by Mirain at the door and tea and home made cake on arrival. She and Geraint have renovated a beautiful house, perfect decor and furniture, plenty of parking, lovely garden and super views of the estuary. We had the Cnicht Room, a wonderful bedroom with huge comfy bed, clean, tidy, well decorated, everything thought about. Welsh cakes in the room with tea and coffee making facilities, fresh flowers, milk in little fridge. And breakfast is to die for, all with local or home made produce. Mirain was a perfect host, helped by her two adorable children. Cant recommend highly enough.

  • Fantastic house, spacious room, very clean and tidy, the breakfast was amazing, use of dinning room was handy for a take away dinner also, beautiful views, would recommend this for sure, and also hope to visit again some time soon.

  • If you are looking for a nice little get away to the amazing, scenic countryside in Wales, you’ve found just the place. From a welcoming, informative and all round lovely host, to extra little touches which make your stay magical, the Taldraeth has everything you need. We checked in quite late and Mirain was there to show us a list of local places to go and eat including restaurants, pubs and take aways. We decided on a take away as there is fish and chips, chinese and pizza and kebabs a 4 minute walking distance from Taldraeth. When we got back, Mirain had set us a candle lit dinner, with cutlery and lemon water waiting. I could not recommend this place highly enough. Well worth the money Thankyou so much

Thanks for everything, Jane!

  • My husband and I stayed at Jane’s home for two nights as part of our honeymoon trip around Wales. Jane and her husband Richard were outstanding hosts. Jane was so thoughtful, and even had some Prosecco and flowers waiting for us in the room! The room, and home were spotless, cozy, and welcoming. We loved the breakfast that Jane provided— we went climbing nearby and she made absolutely sure that we were well fed before we left that morning. The views from the room were beautiful, and we so enjoyed looking out the window into the garden and surrounding area. We felt so lucky to have gotten to spend a bit of time chatting here and there with Jane and her family, and would go back in a heartbeat. We wish we would have stayed at least another night! Highly recommend, we can’t wait to visit again someday!

    Christine2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly recommend this amazing host! We used the location to do Snowdon and the Welsh Highland Railway which were both within a stones throw. • Jane was the most wonderful host anyone could possibly ask for. She has a beautiful soul full of life, and she just passes happy good energy to anyone who is around her. she and her husband are so welcoming and I def recommend anyone going to North Wales to visit. outstanding mountain and greenery view, great breakfast, and very comforting surroundings. She even got up at 5.15 to make us breakfast, and when we overslept and missed it ..she was understanding, and still joyful and still made us something to eat when we eventually got up. Extremely grateful to have been able to get the opportunity to spend some time with Jane in her home. ALSO EXTREMELY CLEAN!! EVERYTHING WAS SPOTLESS.

  • First class stay real friendly welcome, this really is more than value for money, in London you would be charged more than double what you getting here. Your host Miriam is very approachable and will accomodate most if not all your needs and more, if your undicided between two establishments then chose this one, you absolutely won't be disappointed i can guarantee you will want to come back and recommend this place to your friends. We loved our stay and its not very often i can say i slept well in someone elses bed but we had three good nights sleep here, we will definately be back one day.

Beautiful room with lots of elegant features and fantastic views allowing you to wake up to see the mountains from our bed. The bathroom is also throughly luxurious experience with huge walk-in shower and free-standing. Overall, very relaxing and comfortable stay with a top-notch breakfast to get you on your way...

  • Lovely guest house and room. Mirain was very hospitable and the breakfasts were wonderful. Biggest bathroom I have ever had and very stylish with a wonderful walk in shower.

  • After a long search to find an available room over busy Easter weekend we stumbled upon Mirain's B&B and are so glad that we did! There were homemade cakes and scones with a hot pot of tea waiting on arrival which was very welcome. We were then taken up to our room which was beautifully decorated and had stunning views over the estuary and mountains. The B&B is perfectly located for those wanting to explore Snowdonia, and were easily able to drive to Pen-y-Pass car park to walk up the mountain. The fish and chips in the village were delicious and each day we came back to find freshly baked hot cross buns or Welsh Cakes waiting for us in our room. Would thoroughly recommend!

  • The house is much bigger than you think and in a perfect spot for exploring the local area.

  • Great house with a very friendly and welcoming host. Martin left detailed instructions and was in constant communication prior to our visit. We arrived to an extremely clean and well kept house. The decor of the house is fit for the area with cycling posters and and landscape photography adorning the walls. The rooms and living space is spacious and the location is quiet and peaceful. There were also maps and guides available of the local area. Overall it was a brilliant experience and amazing value for money.

Within 5 minutes drive to both the sea and mountains we are at the centre of all the attractions of this area of outstanding natural beauty. If it is heritage railways you like we have the worlds oldest steam railway which winds its way through the village on the way from the harbour at Porthmadog to the slate town of Blaenau Ffesitniog. The four World heritage castles of Wales are a short drive away and for the more adventurous we have over 90 mountains within the park including Snowdon itself.
We have lovingly restored our 19th century stone cottage to give a modern comfortable feel with all the requirement of 21st century living. A pleasant enclosed courtyard garden gives you somewhere secluded to relax and enjoy alfresco dining on a warm summer evening
A car, although useful, is not essential for your stay. The village is served by great transport links. The Cambrian Coast rail link from Birmingham to Pwllheli arguably the most scenic mainline railway in the UK passes through the village, as does the Ffestiniog narrow gauge steam railway started in 1826 the oldest railway company in the world. We also have a good regular bus service and a coach which links the two ancient university cities of Bangor and Aberystwyth
  • A great place to explore this part of Wales from. Spacious, clean and everything you need, including really comfy beds and a well stocked kitchen. The decor is a little dated in the sitting room, but it's a cosy space to relax. We had a car so it was really easy to explore local places of interest, including Portmeirion which is only a five minute drive away. We'd definitely stay again if we visited this lovely part of the world!

    Matt2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is prefect place to live and explore North Wales. Sparking clean and specious for big size family. All North wales attractions like zip wire, cavern and forest and snowdown summit are on hour or less from this house. Close to high street so you can grab takeaway or necessities. For sure we will be back to explore North Wales again.

Bronturnor Cottage is situated on a small farm near Porthmadog and Portmeirion. The cottage is in a peaceful rural setting, yet close to shops and other amenities. The cottage will sleep 4-6 and has a large living room with views towards the Ffestiniog Railway. Being a converted barn the cottage has plenty of character with exposed beams in the living room. We live next door in the farmhouse and will be on hand to welcome you.
Our place is ideal for animal lovers, we keep sheep, hens and a horse and will be happy to show you these - including lambing in February/March. Besides the Ffestiniog Railway we are close to other attractions: Portmeirion (1 mile), Black Rock Sands (4miles), Harlech Castle (7 Miles), Zip World and Bounce Below (10 miles), Coed y Brenin Mountain Bike trails (15 miles)
Bronturnor is in a very convenient location for exploring this part of North Wales. The cottage is close to the mountains of Snowdonia as well as sandy beaches and the impressive coastline of the Lleyn Peninsular. Portmeirion Italianate Village is within walking distance. There are a few shops, a pub and cafe in Penrhyndeudraeth (10 minutes walk). For supermarkets and more shopping opportunities the harbour town of Porthmadog is within 3 miles. We are also close to the Welsh Coastal Path and a Sustrans cycle route.
  • Great accommodation in a beautiful part of the world. Added bonus of seeing farm animals (especially the baby lambs) during the stay.

Gwyn and Siri offer you a warm Scandi/Welsh welcome at Bryn Haul, a charming and unique house set within a large garden and terrace, with many lovely places for you to relax in the beautiful scenery of Snowdonia National Park, near mountains and beaches.
An architect designed house in a semi-rural location, on the outskirts of a small Welsh village, but within walking distance of local amenities and shops. The property is set within a large garden, surrounded by trees and fields.
Bryn Haul is located at the edge of the village of Penrhyndeudraeth, just off the A487 between Porthmadog and Maentwrog. There are many public footpaths starting from near the house. We are situated in a semi-rural position surrounded by fields and forests. There are many good beaches nearby, such as Harlech, Morfa Bychan, Borth y Gest and Criccieth. The Welsh coastal path runs alongside the garden, and the Ffestiniog Railway local railway station is a short 5 minute walk away. The little steam railway passes at the back of our garden, where you can board the train to Blaenau Ffestiniog. The new Zip-World development in Blaenau Ffestiniog, with Bounce Below and a new underground Zip-Wire, along with the more traditional Slate Museum, with the deep-mine tour is only 15 minutes away. The high-ropes course near Betws y Coed is within 30 minutes from here. The various options to walk Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) are all 30 minutes away, by car. Our local castles are Harlech Castle (10mins), and Criccieth (10mins). Caernarfon Castle (30mins), Conwy Castle (1 hr), and Beaumaris Castle (1hr).
  • Hidden gem. Excellent hosts. Wonderful breakfast - lots of fruit.

    Jonathan2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • My mother and I adored our stay with Siri and Gwyn. It was by far our favorite few days on our trip through the UK, and one of our favorite Airbnb experiences to date (and we've had many!) Siri and Gwyn were friendly, gracious, warm hosts and made sure all of our needs were met over the course of two days. Their home is lovely, breakfast is delicious and plentiful, and their company is worth the trip itself. They are full of wisdom, joy and local knowledge. We couldn't have been happier with our stay in Wales. We'll be back!

    Claire2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved staying with Gwyn and Siri. A very special and beautiful place were they made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was outstanding and served in a lovely little room with view of the garden.

    Hajo2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Siri and Gwen were amazingly helpful and welcoming throughout our stay making us truly feel like part of their family. Their house is beautifully maintained and full of Nordic chic. I will be recommending this to freinds and family for any future trips and could not score higher.

    Patrick2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful weekend staying with Gwyn. From the beginning he communicated effectively with us ensuring that he was there to greet us on arrival and even offered to book a local restaurant for us. The house and location is beautiful, sparkling clean and has a very comfortable bed! It was the perfect base for us in terms of location as we were able to climb Snowdon, access the beach and visit the caverns at zip world - all locations were just a short drive away. On both mornings (including a rather early one before Snowdon!) Gwyn provided a delicious breakfast buffet with a complete range of food - cereals, fruit, yoghurts, cheese, croissants and toast (to name a few!) His local knowledge was invaluable and really added to our stay - we hadn’t planned to visit Harlech beach but we were really glad this location was recommended. A wonderful short weekend away. We can’t recommend staying here enough and I’m sure we will be back! Thank you!

    Laura2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Siri and Gwyn's is like staying at friend's. There is great attention to detail in everything starting from the lovely design of the room with ensuite bathroom to the delicious breakfast and brilliant input on what to do in Wales and where to eat out for dinner. The place is a beautiful Scandi-Welsh house in a lush green valley, perfectly located as starting point for day tours around Wales. We can genuinely say that our trip to Wales would not have been as enjoyable would it not have been for Gwyn and Siri. Thank you again for this wonderful experience and all the best!

    Julia2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Siri and Gwyn's home in Northern Wales is an fantastic spot for a quiet getaway. They are excellent hosts, warm and friendly with loads of recommendations to help you enjoy your holiday. The local area has plenty of walks, hikes and is very close to the beach and Mt. Snowdon. The bedroom is large, comfortable and stylishly decorated and the continental breakfast provided was delicious. Lots of thoughtful touches. Highly recommend!

Bron Eryri is a cosy and comfortable end of terrace house within walking distance of the Italianate village of Portmeirion. There is a residents car park across the road, but you really do not need a car here. Bron Eryri is on bus routes and two train stations within half a mile. The location is excellent for exploring the mountains of Snowdonia and the coast of Merioneth and Lleyn peninsula.
Bron Eryri is at the end of a short terrace in Minffordd, it is a compact 2 bed terrace house, recently renovated- with modern kitchen, bathroom with tub bath and separate shower cubicle. Living room has dining area, sofa bed, armchair and freeview TV. There is also free Wi-fi in the house. Heating is all electric with night storage heaters All rooms apart from kitchen an bathroom have fitted carpet. There is no garden or parking space with the house, but there is a spacious car park for residents just across the road (see my photographs) Note: the house is on a road and there is some traffic noise
Minffordd is on the doorstep of Portmeirion, and is close to Penrhyndeudraeth (1 mile) and Porthmadog (2 miles). There are nice walks in the area to the Dwyryd and Glaslyn estuaries and there are also train stations for the Ffestiniog Steam Railway and the Cambrian coast Railway. Bron Eryri is on the road in the centre of the village, the road can be fairly busy in the daytime with traffic to Portmeirion ; but it is quiet overnight. Attractions in the area include Zip World, Bounce Below, Ffestiniog and Welsh Mountain Railways,, Mountain Biking, Snowdon and unspoilt coastline
  • What a fantastic little house! Great location; close to lots of great Snowdonia sites. Short drive to Porthmadog for supermarkets and cafes etc. The house was really cosy and warm, with everything we needed for a self-catering trip. Hope to come back!

  • We stayed here as we had a wedding in Portmeirion, which we didn’t realise was literally up the road from the house, so a perfect location for anyone wanting to visit there. Geraint also kindly offered to drive us up there which we greatly appreciated. Geraint was a perfect host and made us feel very welcome. The room was stylish and comfortable and I’d definitely recommend staying here!

  • Very helpful hosts - within minutes of arriving Geraint had booked us in for lunch at Castell Deudraeth, securing a great lunch AND entrance to Portmeirion for £20 each. Superbly located for accessing Portmeirion and the estate. 10/15 minute walk to Castell Deudrath and another 10/15 minutes to reach the village itself. Also plenty of footpaths in the area. Also a great location for public transport: 5 minutes walk for both Minffordd rail stations (mainline & Ffestiniog), bus stops directly outside for local buses to Portmadog, Criccieth, & Pwllheli. Lovely spacious bathroom and a quiet bedroom with plenty of wardrobe space. Great TV access with Netflix etc.

  • Lovely little conversion, was ideal as a base of operations for a break. Would comfortably fit mom, dad and a couple of kids, with plenty of open plan space to move in. Kitchen was not huge, but plenty big enough for what was needed and came equipped with everything you'd need to make meals and keep on top of laundry. Bathroom was sparkling clean and made a great job of everything a bathroom is supposed to! Master bedroom, downstairs, was lovely and clean, equipped with wardrobe and drawers, hangers, ironing gear etc. Only word of warning, the mattress is a soft one, but definitely served its slumbery purpose. Living area was spacious and cosy, big sofa, some smaller chairs, telly and so on. Overall, it's a lovely place, would definitely recommend to anyone looking to be based in the area for a holiday. Porthmadog has a tesco, open till 11, and plenty of other amenities. Also, The Ship pub serves cracking food and is only 10 minutes drive away. Highly recommend!

  • Great accommodation, very private and spotlessly clean. A nice touch were the fresh flowers. Bins had liners, oven / grill had foil in place, bedding / bed was super-comfortable ...and the kettle was accompanied by milk, tea and coffee - very welcome after a 5 hour drive late into the night (good communication made the late arrival no problem). Location is great for quick and easy access to places such as Harlech, Portmeirion etc. Harlech is a must visit if it’s your first time in the area - the Castle and sandy beach / sand dunes are wonderful (our rescues had the time of their lives running in the shallow surf!) - and only a 5 minute drive away. There’s also a great links golf course there. I could go in ..! We will certainly be visiting the area again and staying here. Dog friendly too - a big thumbs up

Old stone cottage adjoining Hosts' house on former smallholding. Self-catering Ideally situated for outdoor activities - walkers, climbers, cyclists and lovers of steam engines - the Ffestiniog Railway is close by, as are several Zip World Attractions. Modern, well-equipped kitchen; cosy lounge with woodburning stove (logs provided); one kingsize bed; shower room; washer and dryer; secure storage for bikes, kayaks etc. Views of mountains, sea and steam engines from the property. Private parking.
We can accommodate two people. There is one king size bed. The cottage was refurbished throughout in 2018. The lounge has a lovely log burner to make it even more cosy. The only shared space is outside, in the grounds. NB Old cottages are great, but some floors are uneven, there is restricted headroom in places and the staircase is steep and narrow. For these reasons, we do not feel the cottage is suitable for guests with limited mobility.
Talgarth is in the Snowdonia National Park between mountains and coast - both are visible from the property. There are public footpaths very close by, including the Coastal Path. Portmeirion is less than 3 miles away and there are many scenic towns and villages in the area, such as Beddgelert, Harlech, Porthmadog. There are several pubs and restaurants a short drive away. The footpaths and beaches of the Lleyn Peninsula are easily reached, as is Snowdon. Mountain bike trails, rock climbing, zipwires, surfing and many other such pursuits are available nearby for those with strong nerves.
  • Great place, great host!

The cottage itself was perfect for what we needed and had everything, including a pot of honey sourced from Chris’s own beehive (which was delicious!). • The stay at Diane was beautiful! Beautiful room with private bathroom just for us. Very kind in letting us stay one more night, despite having been warned that morning. Highly recommended!

  • We spent 2 nights at Diane. We had a great time, and lucky in that we were the only ones in the house. Room with private bathroom in the room, cozy and perfect cleanliness. Diane was super nice in giving us the directions of the place and letting us stop one more night having warned her the same morning. Super recommended!

  • Diane is a good host. She very kindly let us leave our luggage there already in the morning. In the evening she come to ask if everything was ok. The room was nice and there was a good choice of food/drink for breakfast.
