A cozy, private and romantic getaway in the heart of western Sonoma County!
We welcome you to beautiful Sonoma County and Sebastopol, California. Land of plenty, and famous for our once prosperous Gravenstein apples and our overflowing vineyards. Western Sonoma County has a wealth of both natural beauty and intriguing activity. Our separate and private guest cottage is a cozy, rustic-chic space that will make you feel miles away from the business of everyday life. It has a four poster queen size bed and a living room area with a flat screen TV, DVD player, microwave and mini refrigerator. Coffee maker with local organic Taylor-Made coffee provided, as well as herb and black teas, and popcorn for your movie watching pleasure. Also full bath with sunken tub and sky lights. Please be aware that if you have mobility issues, this may not be the best place for you, as there is a step up to the bed, as well as a step up to the tub. Sit under the stars on the back deck and watch the moon rise above you in this serene country setting. We have an acre to roam with a stream in the winter months and a wood bridge that crosses it. Lots of lemon, apple, persimmon and oak trees. Downtown Sebastopol is 2 miles away with numerous delicious restaurants, a fabulous indie movie theater, thrift stores, antique shops, music venues and brew pubs. Now open is the brand new Barlow Center. A mecca of food, drink and the best local wines and coffee houses you'll find anywhere. We provide names and addresses of our favorite places for you. We are also available to answer any questions you have about our lovely piece of California. We are happy to share, and are dedicated to the Airbnb way of travel and adventure. There is even an old train depot with a train car converted into a wine bar. A truly eclectic, artistic and diverse community awaits you in Sebastopol California and you are only 20 minutes from the beautiful Pacific Ocean & Bodega Bay. Come stay in the Lemon Moon Cottage and relax and refresh. Note: We will be changing our weekend bookings to a 2 night minimum starting January 1, 2018. There is not a way to add this to our availability page until right before the date. Thanks for your understanding! Cheers, Robin and Michelle
Our neighborhood is rural, quiet, and close to activities and restaurants in downtown Sebastopol and beyond.
  • Michelle and Robin's place was so cozy! Really great to have your own little backyard with big, beautiful trees and a little porch to relax on. The bathtub with a large sun roof was great to relax in as well. Overall great stay!

  • What a lovely space. I also appreciated that the windows were open when we arrived. Small details that help us to see they're taking precautions with cleanliness and protecting immunity.

  • Truly remarkable and amazing, a slice of heaven or in this case a lemon bar of paradise. Really appreciated our time, feeling refreshed, relaxed and quite happy. Much needed and grateful to have had the opportunity to share such a sanctuary. Thank you for your hospitality!

  • This is a cozy wooded cabin space. Many extra items made the stay like being at home. The wine and lemon bars, coffee and cream, and many extra amenities made our stay even nicer.

    Kim2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute little place, close to lots in Sebastopol. And the bed was amazing! The electric blanket and electric fireplace were very nice on a cold and windy night.

  • The place was amazing. I only put a bit better than expected because it was so highly rated I expected it to be pretty nice and it didn’t disappoint at all. We had a great time and really enjoyed the bottle of wine that we were met w as well as the lemon tarts. I can’t say enough about this place! Thanks again for the hospitality! I recommend this place to anyone looking in the area!

  • Lemon Moon cottage is such a welcoming serene place to stay ! There are so many thoughtful details to make it magical . The bed was comfy, the heater was great when it got cold in the evenings, the deck was the perfect place to see the stars come out at night and also perfect to practice yoga, drink tea and see the sunrise . Close enough to easily get to town and far enough away to fall asleep to crickets and frogs.

  • We had a great time in Sebastopol and enjoyed the cozy cottage. Hosts were super sweet and left a couple surprises for us which made our visit memorable. It was really great waking up and having a cup of coffee overlooking the creek. Perfect location to explore the area!

Spacious private guest house with full kitchen with view 5 minutes from town. Until the shelter in place order that ends May 3rd is over, the cottage is available only for medical professionals or work supporting essential businesses or services (can be non-County residents), as housing needing for county residents to ensure adequate social distancing such as to live separately from at-risk family members or roommates, to self-quarantine. Cleaned according to strict CDC guidelines.
High vaulted ceilings and the expansive views create a wonderful feeling of openness. At 725 square feet, the cottage is larger than the other guest houses available in this area. It's decorated and supplied with lots of thoughtful touches of style and luxury to enhance your visit. There is a queen size bed with a super comfortable mattress that many of my guests comment positively about plus a couch that folds into a very comfy full size mattress, comfortably fitting 1 and possibly 2 adults or 2 children. There is a dinning table, sink and counters, new high quality stainless steel fridge and gas range, microwave oven, toaster oven, and everything you need to enjoy food from local grocery stores and restaurants. You'll also find a desk, with super comfy desk chair and desk lamp. It's a nice spot to work since you can see the lovely view of the gardens and mountains out the front windows from the desk. There is a new 50 inch Smart 4K flat screen TV with many free channels, plus you can login to your Netflix, Hulu, HBO Go, Showtime, CBS All Access or any other streaming TV site account. When you arrive you will find fresh cut flowers, organic orange juice and some of my fresh baked banana bread waiting for you.
Location Near Town The cottage is just 5 minutes to the town of Sebastopol that has many great restaurants and shops.  It includes the Barlow Food, Art & Wine district that has places to eat, wine tasting shops and taprooms.  We are 25 minutes to the coast and the town of Bodega Bay and many different beaches and state parks along the coast.  We are 40 minutes from the popular Russian River resort area with river beaches, towns and state parks like the Armstrong Redwood State Park. It's about 15 minutes from Santa Rosa, the city center of Sonoma County wine country.  We are 35 minutes from the wine country town of Healdsburg with some of the best restaurants in Sonoma County and many wine tasting shops and stores around its town square park and downtown district.  It's 30 minutes to the beautiful Valley of the Moon area near the town of Kenwood with lots of top wineries.  About 10 minutes farther is the Sonoma Valley area with wineries and the lovely town of Sonoma with its historic town plaza featuring many tasting rooms, shops and restaurants.  Napa Valley including the town of Napa is a 45 minute drive. It's a 40 minute drive to Point Reyes National Monument one of my favorite places to hike and explore the beaches. The immediate neighborhood is very peaceful and semi-rural. It is a favorite with residents for walking and biking. There is a sheep ranch down the street with charming long-horn sheep and other properties in my area have everything from goats, pigs, horses and even a couple donkeys (my favorite). There are some properties with vineyards as well which reminds you that you are in the wine country.
  • Awesome place and awesome host. Supper close to everything we wanted to do.

"Shelter in Place" orders have been issued by both the state of California and Sonoma County. To comply with these orders as they relate to short-term rental use, we have chosen to temporarily close our booking calendar for the next few months. This is one of 3 Airbnb rooms in a multi-level home situated on a wooded 1/2 acre in the hills of Santa Rosa. The house features a redwood deck, washer/dryer, backyard & off street parking for 6 cars. View my full profile for other rooms.
The room, dubbed "The Garden View Room" features lots of natural light, a large window overlooking the backyard and gardens, and plenty of privacy. This room has a queen size bed, a large closet, dresser, desk & chair.

  • I enjoyed delightful conversations with other guests, a fantastically comfortable bed, great accommodations for my weird schedule, a great bathroom-sharing system, a dark and cool bedroom, lots of good breakfast options, plus outstanding hospitality from the host/family--they even helped carry my heavy luggage in and out!! Charles gave great suggestions about free things to do in the area (including champagne-tasting!) I highly recommend this place; I'd book it again in a heartbeat.

Our sweet studio has a comfortable and inviting feel. It is the perfect fit for a couple. A short walk to popular destinations like Russian River Brewery and Historic Railroad Square. Studio is also centrally located for brewery and wine tasting trips. Also, please check out our other two spaces on the same property. We have the capacity to accommodate more friends and family.
This is a well-lit, private space attached to the main home. We recently remodeled the bathroom and updated the studio. There is a comfy queen size bed, and some pleasant seating areas inside. The studio opens into an inviting and tranquil outdoor space that is great for reading, lounging or dining. WiFi Coffee/tea and a hotplate. There is NO television. There is no air conditioning in the studio, but there is a fan provided. Backyard is shared, but often private for you. Just let us know if you'd like something special, and we'll do what we can to accommodate. We love to get to know our guests if the opportunity arrises and of course appreciate the interests of privacy and seclusion. The Junior College Neighborhood is the oldest neighborhood in Santa Rosa. It is rich in diverse architecture with homes dating back into the late 1800's. The area is great for walking, and has an incredible variety of heritage trees. The JC Neighborhood is also a devoted and welcoming community of diversity and inclusion. A quick stroll through the streets and you will see what we mean. Downtown is a 5-10 minute walk, taking you to some great restaurants and breweries. Russian River Brewery, Belly, La Vera, El Coqui Puerto Rican cuisine, Sizzling Tandoor, County Bench, Historic Railroad Square, and other ethnic and gastro-pub eateries, are all within a 5-15 minute walk.
The Junior College neighborhood is the oldest and largest organized neighborhood is Santa Rosa with many homes having been built at the end of the 19th century. It is a beautiful area for walking where you will see some truly amazing homes with incredible landscaping. You will also get a taste of why Santa Rosa is named "The City of Trees"

Newly renovated barnhouse in the countryside near Petaluma, situated on 100 acres; majority is accessible to guests. If you love being around animals, there's plenty here. Lots of room to walk, hike, meditate and enjoy the view. Barnhouse is a Studio size, main room is also a bedroom. King bed plus 2 twin sofabeds (can slide together to make another king bed). Other two rooms are kitchen and bathroom.
    Tranquility in the country.
  • The barnhouse is so beautiful ! Talk about making the most of the space. It's very comfortable and has everything you need. The spacious shower is great! My father really enjoyed his stay there with us next door in the farm house. The animals were lovely as ever. It's just perfect. Thank you Jani for all you do. We had an amazing weekend!

    Christine2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible experience! The petite renovated barnhouse was not petite by my standards. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the space, from the fully functional kitchen to the extremely comfy and spacious dual day beds and of course the plush queen bed. The variety of animals on the ranch was so much more than I could ask for - llamas, horses, zebra, goats, EMUS!!!, peacocks, etc etc etc... and they all seemed extremely well taken care of. My little terrier had the best time greeting and quite literally chasing some of these new animal friends. And finally, I have to mention the glorious picnic table area in the shared backyard between the barnhouse and the farmhouse. It is the lazy person's rustic glam pinterest worthy picnic dream. There are 3 giant picnic tables in a row and my party of 6 picnickers took up less than half of one table. Thank you Jani, it was a dream to stay at your barnhouse.

    Yiting2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful and stylish oasis on a working farm. I came with my two 8-year-olds and they had "one of our best vacations ever"! We collected eggs each morning from the hen house, fed apples to the goats and horses and walked the property each day. What a wonderful hideaway! And Jani was a warm and generous host. We'd recommend the Barn House to anyone without reservation.

    Lisa2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here! The place was clean, comfortable, and modern in decor. There are so many unique touches all around. Books, patio in back, chandeliers, and vintage furniture were are lovely. Being around the animals was extra special as we are animal lovers, something magical walking along and crossing paths with fluffy bunnies, grand horses, and majestic peacocks. The goats were adorable. We enjoyed feeding the animals carrots and apples. Would definitely recommend a stay if you like rustic barn chic and animals. There are wineries very close by as well!

    Reshmi2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The barnhouse has beautiful woodwork and has been converted wonderfully! It's an amazing experience placed on a wonderful ranch where you can freely explore and take in the breathtaking views.

    Michael2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jani’s place is beyond beautiful! We enjoyed meeting the animals, playing with the dogs, and roaming the grounds. The location is excellent, as it’s far enough away from town to be perfectly serene, but close enough to be convenient. Will absolutely be back!

    Megan2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place! Love all the animals. Super unique experience!

    Rex2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jani is a super sweet, awesome , & inspiring host. I truly love her property. The work & style she has put into her property is phenomenal. I rented the Renovated Petite Barnhouse to do a Boudoir photoshoot. The furniture & detail in the rustic looking barnhouse was a perfect set-up for this. The photos turned out beautiful. Thanks again Jani for accommodating my short-term needs! Hope to go back again sometime soon!

This studio “tiny house” has one queen bed and a double convertible sofa. THe sofa is fine for children, but not very comfortable for an adult. Prefer 1-2 guests, but will consider 3 with discussion. Close to shopping, restaurants, theaters, parks, short drive to downtown. 30 minutes to the beach. 12% tourism and city taxes included in price, so you only pay the price you see!
This is a brand new 200 square foot "tiny house" and I am so excited about it! The queen bed is very comfortable and the sofa converts to a double bed. If 2 adults want to sleep separately in the house, please let me know. The conversion process is a little tricky - I will leave out the directions and also make the extra linens available. I would charge an extra $5 for use of the second bed - to help cover cost of laundry. This little house feels very light, airy, spacious, and also quiet and private. It sits across the yard from my house - it is near the chicken run and I would be remiss if I didn't tell you that the chickens do get up with the sun! I try to get out and give them their morning treat the minute I hear them. I hope you will enjoy their company as much as I do. PLEASE NOTE - THE PRICE QUOTED ON AIR BNB INCLUDES THE 12% TOURISM AND CITY TAX, SO YOU ONLY PAY THE PRICE YOU SEE!
The best thing about my neighborhood is that we are 1 block from Montgomery Village which has some great shopping and dining - various bands provide music in the mall all summer long. There are several really good dining places as well as causal restaurants and places to get "goodies" Even though we are close to all this, the neighborhood is very quiet. Parks, theaters, downtown restaurants and activities are a short car ride away and the little house is in the middle of wine country.
  • Inez's tiny house was exactly what my girlfriend and I needed for our vacation through Napa. At most an hour away from most wineries, it was in a great location and provided easy access across Napa and Santa Rosa. The house itself is relatively small, but not cramped. Everything was extremely clean and well located. Check-in and check-out were very simple. We would gladly stay here again!

  • Amazing slice of heaven in the middle of a neighborhood. Very comfortable and serene. All that you need for a perfect weekend.

  • Wonderful stay in this cute Tiny House! Can't go wrong.

    Pamela2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place for two or three people. Had everything you need for a little apartment and a full size grocery store just 3 doors down. Clean and convenient for anyone needing to stay in the Santa Rosa area.

    Richard2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend. This tiny house is exceptionally clean. Inez goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. Excellent location. Napa and Sonoma Valley's within driving distance. If we return to the area, Inez will be our first choice for lodging.

    Sharon2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • A sparkling clean Sanctuary close to freeways and right across great shopping and restaurants .. lbed was amazing .. staying again in March.

    Nancy2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Inez's spot is bright and clean. Less private than some other options purely based on proximity to her home. However, she does a good job at adding touches to the rental to make you feel secluded (i.e. separate walkway, blinds, etc). The home had everything you'd need for a quick stay! Her two small dogs were a wonderful little bonus :)

She was very warm, friendly, attentive and personable. Her unit was clean, updated, centrally located, comfortable and most of all safe. I definitely would stay there a 1'000 x's over. The Coop is a separate, detached private studio cottage with its own bathroom, kitchenette and outdoor space. A great spot to practice social distancing. The deck faces a large open field where wild turkeys roam freely. On a sunny day you can see Sonoma's beautiful foot hills. And during the evenings its the perfect place to peacefully snuggle up with a book or watch Netflix. The location is close to highways, restaurants, SSU, and shopping but feels like the countryside.
We've just upgraded the queen bed with a new posturepedic mattress and a stylish bed frame! There is also a futon bed (72" x 40") located in the same room. Note - futon is shorter than standard double size bed. We've decorated the studio with tasteful items to honor the area's history of chicken farms. We think this farm chic decor and a sunny disposition will make you feel cozy and relaxed. The Coop does not have a full kitchen but its fully capable of making simple meals via microwave and electric hotplate. The bathroom has a stand-up shower - no tub. Remember this is the country so be prepared for: Dusty cars, muddy shoes, occasional spider, surprise goat visits, uneven walk-ways etc.
For the most part, we are surrounded by fields and ranches. While there are no side-walks, there is a quiet walking trail near-by where locals sometimes ride their horses. If you go down our street going West, you will encounter large pastures, cows, horses and old farmhouses.
  • Love the quite location. So cute, will definitely be staying here again when we visit.

  • It was a bit of country living...loved hearing the chicken and turkey talking before bed. Offered everything I needed, privacy, kitchen appliances, hot water, comfy bed.

Our woodsy cabin is tucked away in a quiet complex with plenty of trees, ivy and rosemary shrubs. Don't be surprised if you see a wild turkey (or 10) roaming the property! The interior has vaulted ceilings complete with a large skylight to make the space feel bigger than it is. The nice thing about Cotati is how you are right in the middle of everything. Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Sebastopol, Sonoma State, Bodega Bay, and the vineyards of both Sonoma and Napa Counties are all within quick reach!
Your room comes with a large closet, dresser and shares no walls with any other units or bedrooms. There are 1.5 bathrooms which are both shared, but we will always give you first priority for the shower. The main bathroom (with the shower) is a "Jack and Jill" style bathroom, where both bedrooms have their own door that enters it. The kitchen will be fully accessible to you, with pots, pans, knives, a fridge and marble counter tops. We also have a washer and dryer if you need them. There is a shared living room which contains a whole rack of board games and video game consoles.
Just around the corner from our house is Cotati's downtown strip. Only a 10 minute walk will bring you to a local coffee shop, a handful of bars, a public park, and several restaurants including Thai food, sandwiches, Mexican, burgers, pizza, and a cafe/diner. There's also a popular local taproom that serves up a constantly changing roster of the best local and national beers being brewed today. The other great thing about Cotati is that it's surrounded by larger towns with lots of things to do and see. Downtown Petaluma is a 15 minute drive south, Downtown Santa Rosa is a 15 minute drive north, and Downtown Sebastopol is a 15 minute drive west. We're also situated so that the coast is less 45 minutes away, and Napa County is also well within reach for a quick day trip.

Wine Country treasure of a spacious town home in Cotati CA located close to Sonoma State Univ., Pengrove and Petaluma on the south, Rohnert Park and Santa Rosa to the north. Shared with owner who may be in the home depending on work schedule. Use of most of the home including kitchen, dining and living rooms, private upstairs guest bedroom with a brand new Sealy bed, desk and chair, dresser, a lot of closet space and a private bathroom. People from all backgrounds, ages and genders are welcome!
Two story town-home; May use most of the home minus two rooms and the garage which is private access for the owner. Guests will have access to the living room, dining room, kitchen and of course private bedrooms and bathrooms. Refrigerator, dishwasher and stove use may be shared depending on if the owner is home; 1 parking space reserved for guest-enter through the side past the garage. Cotati is home to a particular breed of entrepreneur: those fiercely independent souls who nevertheless understand the value of being a part of a supportive community. Shop owners often voluntarily take time to help others who are just starting out with their own ventures. Restaurants and pubs also serve as supportive centers for local music and art. This kind of camaraderie and cooperative spirit is the stuff of “Small Town America” at its best. Downtown Cotati is loosely centered around a lovely hexagonal park, one of only two in the country. It was created in the late 1800s on land owned by the Page family, with each of the six streets abutting the park named after a son of that family. And now this lively center of town hosts summer events including a weekly farmer’s market and a jazz festival, an Oktoberfest celebration, and an immensely popular Accordion Festival. Then, as now, the town is also proud of its handsome American Craftsman style train station. More than 100 years ago it served as a hub for shipping produce out of the county; it now brings visitors into town via the SMART train connection. A walk downtown offers a quirky and artistic collection of independent shops, eateries and businesses
Friendly, residential area in Cotati (the smallest town in Sonoma County); Charming small town feeling; Center of town has one of the only hexagonal town centers surrounded by artistic, gourmet and nightlife businesses

Santa Rosa is close to wineries, parks, good restaurants, music. My home is about 1 mile from downtown, was built in 1906, has a small private room & bath, claw foot tub, NO SHOWER. No smokers please. Close to bus line, breweries and shops. Lovely area for walking. Pets under 20 lbs ok. I have 3 small friendly dogs who greet you.
Great part of Santa Rosa, close to downtown. Nice area of old homes, many older than mine which was built in 1906. I have tried to keep that old feel to the house and I want it to feel warm and friendly. Private room with large private bathroom but no shower, sorry.
My home is an Historic District with many older homes and trees. It a lovely area to just take a walk.

Beautiful, well kept, and simply but tastefully decorated 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom home. Large front and back yards. Front yard has a gorgeous old oak tree with a swing attached. The fenced in backyard has an outdoor dining table, with a solar lit umbrella, 6 chairs, 2 chaise lounge chairs, as well as plenty of room for dogs to roam free. The house is a 5 min walk from a great shopping center, that includes an excellent wine bar/restaurant, grocery store and take out pizza.
The house is simply furnished. No frills, but you have everything you'll need. Coffee maker, refrigerator, stove, microwave, TV, bathtub/shower, a comfy bed, and great wifi. There is a locked off room that is unavailable, but it doesn't get in the way of anything and it doesn't change your ability to use everything in the house. We are dog friendly, but we would love it if you cleaned up after your pup/pups. No smoking in the house, and if you smoke outside, please clean up after yourselves. Thank you.
While staying here, you'll be just a short drive from many world class wineries and restaurants. There is easy access to the freeway, even though you're in a secluded, quiet, and historic part of Santa Rosa. Excellent restaurants lie in every direction, and many are within walking distance. Parking is no issue, since there's plenty of driveway and street parking.

Private, quiet bedroom and full bath suite on the downstairs floor of a 2 story house. Perfect space for work or leisure, with a desk, wifi, mini fridge and other amenities. Close to freeway, downtown, wineries, breweries, hiking; the coast is a short and beautiful drive from here through small towns and redwoods. The house backs up to a school so all is quiet on the weekends and vacation times, and typical school yard daytime noises during the week.
You will be downstairs privately by yourself. Wifi is provided for easy connectivity. There is a large desk in the room, along with hangers, an ironing board and iron, a luggage rack and closet shelves, a mini fridge, a Keurig coffee maker with coffee and tea options, and a variety of snacks.
The house is located in the northwest area of Santa Rosa - close to Sutter and Kaiser hospitals, freeways, redwoods, wineries and breweries. The neighborhood is known locally as Coffey Park - much of the neighborhood burned to the ground in the wildfire of 2017 - fortunately, and with extreme gratitude for the firefighters, our home was spared. But much of the neighborhood is now in the rebuild stage, and it is interesting to drive through.

Serene, cozy, detached studio in a garden setting; with a private entrance. It is in one of the best neighborhoods in Santa Rosa, with Victorian houses and beautiful trees. There's a queen size bed and kitchenette with coffee maker, brand new microwave, mini-refrigerator, toaster, cups, glasses, silverware, coffee, and snacks; a walk-in closet, dresser, table with 2 chairs, a small desk and a wool rug. The bathroom is in the main house. This is a scent free, natural home.
There is usually parking near the house. The studio has two windows and gets good light. You have WIFI and there is also an assortment of books. Enjoy your own private garden. No bathroom in the studio, you need to walk 30 feet to go into the main house and use the bathroom. The bathroom in the main house has a tub and shower, also quality bath towels, wash cloth and hand towels. Shampoo and soap are provided. The main house is a very charmer older Victorian style home with a big bay window. Please be aware that this is a home that is pretty much scent free. Please do not use strongly scented products in the house or studio. That includes essential oils, and no air fresheners or incense please.
We are close to everything, you could walk to downtown, where you find the Russian river Brewery and other Pubs along with outstanding restaurants offering Italian, Indian, Mexican, Thai, Brazilian and Vegan menus along with many other choices. There are numerous wineries nearby and the ocean is 35 minutes from here.

  • My stay here was an extremely excellent experience. The room was very cozy with a comfortable bed. It was very quiet and peaceful. I truly appreciated how the room was fully equipped with mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, utensils etc. It also had a table and chairs for a place to sit and eat. The location was in the heart of town. Marianne was friendly and attentive to any of my needs. I would definitely recommend a stay at her home if you are seeking a place. I certainly will return in the near future.

  • Clean, cozy, convenient, and our host is a very conscientious person with attention to details, right down to the in-room snacks and coffee with creamer, no added cost. We were able to truly relax and sleep very well, both nights, while enjoying a local family reunion. Only minutes away from downtown or the highway and many other places, yet located in a very quiet neighborhood. Enjoy!

  • Great stay thank you!

    George2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • TLDR: Great value. Long Version: Some of the reviewers seem dissatisfied about the accommodations not being picture-perfect, and the house being a "purely commercial operation". I was very satisfied by the value provided with my 10-day stay. Maria was reasonably prompt with communications, and up-front about the room's furnishings being different than the photos. Maria apparently does not live in the house, as all rooms appear to be for rent. The other guests during my stay were quiet and respectful, and everyone pretty much kept to themselves. The house is on a 4-way-stop corner, so there is light engine noise as cars pull away, but nothing abnormal to complain about. If you want a clean place to stay, and don't mind a few imperfections (old paint, unkempt yard, etc.), then this place will certainly satisfy those looking for inexpensive accommodations while in town. I have no horror stories to tell - I thought it was an EXCELLENT value.

  • Maria was very friendly, communicative and supportive. She gave me the opportunity to extend my stay. It was my first time in Rhonert Park and having a super clean and cozy place like Maria's was an awesome experience. Thank you Maria!

    Paulo2018-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Maria is a very nice host and upon arrival the house was very clean and my room was especially clean. This can be a very nice place to stay long term, however my stay was unfortunately somewhat marred by discourteous guests. The when I arrived I was the only guests and a few people came and went but some of the other long term guests were very dirty. If this is something you do not want to deal with if you’re visiting the area for a short time I might suggest staying somewhere else. This is a nice shared home for students and young people. Maria takes good care of the house and is responsive to certain issues, though she does not live on the property she does have a handyman who comes to take care of the house and the garden and a woman who cleans the house once a week. Maria is currently in the process of up keeping the back yard and garden which I think will be lovely as the yard is a great space. The location is very ideal as it is close to shops and restaurants, close to downtown Cotati and a short drive to Petaluma. Over all my stay was positive

  • Great place. Comfortable. Great location.

    Lawrence2016-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great Experience and Very Accommodating. All of the necessities are provided and there is definitely a professional respectable quality within the living area. Maria is a very accommodating host that has help me with a great place to stay. Her listing was appropriate for my needs and her assistance was greatly appreciated. She is very attentive and always answered all of my questions. Her assistant at the house is very helpful and friendly also. She makes sure the house is kept cleaned and overlooks everything well.

    Courtney2016-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • I met Maria once during my stay at the house but any questions or needs I had were addressed by Jeanette who was the house keeper who was nice and accommodating. Overall the place for the most part was as described with the bed being comfortable and quiet.

This small private home is located in the Historic McDonald Mansion neighborhood. It is a residential neighborhood with lovely tree lined streets with large homes. Within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and the famous Russian River Brewery. . The smallest and most basic of the bedrooms in the house (new memory foam bed). This is definitely for the frugal traveler. Taxes are included in the price. TOT 9% and city 3% tax Property is close to TrueNorth Health Center
This is a converted garage and is very basic. It also contains the washer and dryer and hot water heater in the room. None of which will be used by other guests. This is the owners suite so you will find some of her belongings in the room. We rent it out when she is traveling. For our female traveler's this house will sometimes have the owner on site but the co-host are NOT onsite. If the owner is not there then it will just be you and the other guests. If this makes you uncomfortable please don't book.
This is a lovely historic neighborhood. Wide streets and sidewalk with lovely big trees. The best street for walking is two blocks over and is called McDonald Avenue.

Your private guest room in a shared house is walking distance to Sonoma State University and Green Music Center. The residence is on a quiet street with a cul-de-sac and a park with a tennis court. Your room has a twin bed with new Tempurpedic mattress and a student desk. Ideal for solo adventurers. Easy to get to main roadways that take you to Sonoma (30 minutes), Napa (40 minutes), San Francisco (an hour) and the beach (30 minutes). SSU is less than a 10 minute walk from your front door.
Your guest room includes a twin bed, dresser, desk, closet, and a mini travel library. Access to shared full bathroom with shower, kitchen, cookware and dining wares, and laundry facility. A family lives here, so on most nights we're home you may hear family noises (cooking, watching TV, etc.) until about 10pm.
This neighborhood is pretty quiet and very safe. Across the street is a small public park with tennis court, basketball court, picnic tables and kids play area. Oliver's Market and Raley's Market are each a mile away. For dining deliciousness, down the street we have Honey BBQ (Korean), Los Gallos (Mexican), and Shangri-La (Himalayan) just half mile away in Wolf Den Plaza. And Sol Azteca Taqueria, also about half mile away.
  • Highly recommended! Susan and her family are very friendly, helpful and inviting; the place is very comfortable, well maintained and warm, and the neighborhood is very safe and convenient if you're going to Sonoma State, or commuting to nearby towns.

    Fiona2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Nice home in a convenient neighborhood. Susan and family are friendly and easy to be around. The cats are friendly too. The room is perfect for one person--very comfortable bed, good desk, book shelf full of travel and other interesting books, full bath right next to it. I used the kitchen and put my perishables in a fridge in the garage overnight. I was only there one night and it was super easy to check in and get settled.

    Lyn2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Susan's home was extremely comfortable. She lended me an umbrella when I needed one, was quick to help when I needed it, and was extremely friendly. Hanging out with her cats was a definite plus as well! I would 100% recommend staying in this cozy room.

    Lucy2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, lots of parking. Susan was a great host and her kitties were ADORABLE. >< So cute and snuggly. Great kitchen with everything you need. She provided an extra blanket and i had a mostly private bath. She greeted me in person and was great about communicating, since i was just popping in for the night. Great stay!

    Victoria2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • The stay is clean and relaxing, and there are lots of books on various topics such as travel, Chinese, and running. The cats will show you lots of love.

    Stephen2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sparkling clean ground floor “student’s room” walking distance to Sonoma State. Single bed was super comfy. 3/4 bath was right next door and I had the shower to myself as the family who live there slept upstairs. Very quiet safe neighborhood. Friendly chihuahua mix n two kitties. Kitchen was easy to use in the mornings as it was right next to the room.

    Liese Michelle2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Susan was great! She was very helpful during my check in despite me hitting traffic. The room was also great and she has some wonderful pets that made the whole experience more homey and welcoming! Highly recommend!

If you are looking for a quiet non smoking, relaxing retreat that is centrally located to all that Sonoma County can offer, then the Pumpalow is for you. Our place is perfect for couples, solo adventurers, cyclist and business travelers. It's a stand-alone building with a cozy bedroom/living space (w/HDTV & WiFi). A nicely private bathroom and patio area. It sits on 10 acres in the beautiful countryside south of. Your nearest neighbors are some docile cows and a variety of wild birds.
The room has a queen size bed, with a down feather comforter. A refrigerator, toaster and a coffee maker are provided, with a variety of teas, coffee and bottled water. The bedding and towels are washed with Clorox, and a Scented Laundry Soap. The pillow cases are ironed with a Light Scented Starch. The room is cleaned with Clorox, Windex and the furniture is polished with a Lemon Scent Oil. The products used in the room are also used throughout our home.
Our neighborhood is very quiet, as you are coming up our driveway you will see cows on our property they belong to a dairy across Hwy 116. The cows are brought to us when the calves have been weaned off their mothers and they stay here for six to nine months. To the left the brown house it's a working little ranch they raise pigs and have a vegetable garden run by an organization who teach mentally challenged people to become independent, they work, grow and sell the vegetables and pigs. They put a sign out when they have vegetables to sell, if your interested you can buy from them. Further up their driveway the grey house they boarder horses and train them. Across from our home on the corner of Hessel and Henning our neighbors there, they rescue animals, they have a llama, miniature pony, two donkeys, pigs, ducks and dogs and cats. At times we go down to give the animals carrots. So feel free to check out them out. The animals like visitors.
  • Jenny's place was the perfect getaway for me and my boyfriend. It was quaint and had all the amenities we could need for the weekend. The surrounding area was quiet and beautiful, with lots of cute animals. We particularly liked how it was a midpoint between Petaluma, Sebastopol, and Santa Rosa. Thanks so much!

    Katherine2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny’s space is SO beautiful, and the property is so quiet and peaceful. The cows are adorable and Jenny has MANY recommendations for things to do or places to eat (Korbel and Gypsy were our personal faves)! I would have loved to stay longer and will 100% be looking to stay here again if work brings me back this way!

    Ashley2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Such a nice quiet place to stay. Not huge but it had great matress, plenty of covers, frig/microwave, place to sit inside and out. The yard is really pretty. Wish we would have had more time to enjoy the patio and property.

  • This is a comfortable, clean and quiet place that has the most beautiful view as you look out the door. Our hosts went out of their way to welcome us and even gave us awesome suggestions for local vineyards to visit. Would definitely stay here again!

    Kelly2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at Gary's place! There were three of us and we had enough space, the two beds were comfortable, the accommodation very cozy, perfectly clean, we loved it! Only small negative point, the pressure of the shower

    Emilie2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place not too far off the beaten path. We loved the cozy interior and found it to be a right amount of space for three. We missed that it was on the lower level of the hosts home when booking it, but it worked out fine! They even had coffee and creamer waiting. Cute touches and comfortable sleeping.

    Natalie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to visit the area but also if you have stuff to do in SF but don't wanna stay in the city. Gary welcomed us with his kindness and spent some time with us. His wife had a present for our daughter... so sweet! The property is very well kept and despite being beside the road is very quiet. I have to spend a word about the bed: just amazing, I slept better than at home! Wi-fi works great, there's coffee and plenty of pillows. Highly raccomended

    Giacomo2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Gary’s place was just as described and really lovely! I appreciated his quick responses to any questions that I had. His place is semi-hard to find so it is really helpful he put the red stars up to easily spot it off of the road! Very cute and gives you the country feel of Petaluma while also allowing you access to many activities within a ten minute drive!

I have stayed here before and I will definitely stay here again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I use AirBnB in the Santa Rosa/Sonoma County area a lot. This place is in my top five. • From the magical fairy lights just inside the gate, to the large cozy sumptuous bed. I felt pampered and safe at Elizabeth’s place. I had a very short stay while I was volunteering locally. The location was great and everything was neat and organized. I would love to come back and stay again if I had more time. All my questions were answered promptly. A wonderful host and a lovely place to stay.

  • I was in need of a place near family while visiting over Christmas. The weather was cold and wet, and Elizabeth's place was just the kind of cozy place of rest I needed each night. I appreciated the array of snacks and a few beverages on-hand. Very comfy bed. Great bathroom and shower. Thank you.

  • Great space and location. We were in town for a friend's Coast Guard graduation and wanted to enjoy some wine tasting. Elizabeth's space was perfect for our needs. Easy access to the 101. On-site parking and private entry so late arrival was not a problem. The room was exactly as advertised. Comfy bed. Nice bathroom and toiletries. Elizabeth even had snacks, coffee and tea available which was much appreciated.

  • Elizabeth's place is very convenient to Graton Casino and very affordable. Only stayed one night and check-in was easy with keypad door lock. Great stay!

Welcome to “La Casita de los Amigos”, a cozy cottage with a private entrance in a safe, quiet, and wonderfully diverse neighborhood near downtown. Amenities include a comfortable double bed; full bathroom with tub; mini-fridge, microwave, coffee pot, electric tea kettle, toaster oven, dishes, flatware, cups & glasses; a 37” HDTV w/Roku; secure WiFi; complimentary coffee, tea, oatmeal & snacks. We are a mature, educated, progressive couple who welcome all guests regardless of their backgrounds.
ABOUT THE AREA We are located in southwest Santa Rosa in a safe, quiet, and wonderfully diverse neighborhood built in 1946. The Historic Railroad Square District – including the SMART Train depot – is a 15-minute walk while both the heart of downtown & the Sonoma County Fairgrounds are mere 20-minute walks. A multitude of outstanding restaurants and nightspots, including at least a dozen brewpubs, taprooms, and wine tasting rooms, are either within walking distance or a short drive or ride share away. Costco, Target, Trader Joe's, and other shopping options are also nearby. The Pacific Ocean is a 45-minute drive to the west, Armstrong Redwoods State Park is a half-hour drive to the northwest, and nearly 200 wineries are within an hour of us. The Golden Gate Bridge and the city of San Francisco are roughly 55 miles away. Our proximity to the US Hwy 101 (north/south) & CA Hwy 12 (east/west) junction puts us, quite literally, at the crossroads of both Santa Rosa and Sonoma County. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION & RIDE SHARE OPTIONS Santa Rosa CityBus has multiple stops a block away and Sonoma County Transit has a stop roughly 4 blocks away. The SMART Train depot is a 15-minute walk or 3-minute drive. Lyft and Uber are both reliable options here. ACCESS & CHECK IN Access to the unit is via a driveway which runs along the south side of the main house. You will need to pass through the unlocked chainlink gate and then proceed to the unit. Motion-sensor security lights will activate as you get close to the gate, so don't be alarmed if it's dark when you arrive. There is also a motion-sensor porch light at the unit which will be triggered as you approach. The unit is equipped with a keypad lock. You will be given the code and instructions upon booking. We live in the main house and are usually available on short notice if you need us to replenish supplies, address concerns, or fix something which has broken. While the unit is small (roughly 200 sq. ft.), we do whatever we can to make it comfortable, livable, and pleasant. If we fall short of your expectations, please let us know immediately so we can work to make it right.

  • Easy stay. So many pillows! Watch out for the nightstand corners of you're clumsy like me... Gave myself a black eye somehow. Overall nice touches, and the 💚 stepping stones made me smile each time I used them.
