Places to stay in Sibton
Quiet & relaxing, perfectly positioned for exploring the Heritage coast (and with an eclectic book collection!) "The cottage has been everything we could possibly have wanted in a holiday retreat - warm, comfortable, divinely pretty and romantic!"
Welcome to Mill End From May to the end of August our aim is to let weekly Friday to Friday, short breaks will be considered at short notice if we have no weekly bookings. From September to the end of April any booking will be welcomed subject to our minimum of three nights. Please note we have seasonal pricing so make sure you have entered the dates you want to stay to get the right cost Recently refurbished, with new kitchen and new double glazed windows. Upstairs is the large, light, south facing bedroom with king size bed, armchairs and a coffee table. There is a TV with DVD player and a selection of DVDs. The bathroom is adjacent with a bath and a shower. Downstairs is the newly fully fitted kitchen/living/dining room with TV. It is a small room but sunny in summer and cosy in winter. There is a sofa bed for the occasional guest(s). (£15 for linen or bring your own) The kitchen has an oven, microwave and a 4 ring hob with cover which acts as a splashback when open. There is also a larder fridge, a freezer, a toaster and, of course, a kettle. There is a downstairs WC. The cottage has oil fired central heating. Immediately outside is a south facing terrace with a large table and an electric awning. If you have friends/family in the area you can entertain up to 10. The awning can act as a sunshade or an umbrella so even if it is drizzling it is still possible to be outside. It's an extra room! There is parking for one car. You have an exclusive private garden area - south-west facing, with a table and chairs and 2 "rocking loungers" ideal for relaxing and sunbathing - see picture. The whole garden, of which this is part, is designed mainly for wildlife - shrubs, trees and many scented hip bearing roses.
The Suffolk coast has many attractions. We have wonderful sunrises as well as sunsets in our garden. We have good bird and wild life. We are 3 miles inland from Walberswick and Southwold and close to Dunwich and Minsmere with many good walks. As well as the White Hart in Blythburgh, which has wonderful views over the estuary, there are excellent places to eat in the surrounding villages (The Anchor at Walberswick and Mains at Yoxford are in the good food guide). The nearby cafe at Darsham Nurseries has had very good reviews for unusual dishes. There are a number of farmer's markets and shops close by. Blythburgh is famous for its large and beautiful church, known as "the Cathedral of the Marshes". Concerts are held here as well as at Snape Maltings (25mins drive) during the Aldeburgh Festival and at other times of the year. The Latitude Festival (mid July) takes place about a mile from the village.
  • A lovely cosy and welcoming cottage for two, perfectly situated to explore Southwold and the lovely Suffolk countryside.

  • Lovely cosy cottage, everything we needed was provided. A warm welcome from Roderick and Claire as well. Comfortable bed and hot showers were much needed after a days walking. Was perfect for our short break in Suffolk. Their local knowledge came in very useful for amazing evening meals. Check the garden out, something different around every corner,a real work of art.

    David2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Roderick gave very quick response to our questions reference bringing a dog which may not be to apparent on the web site . The property is easy to find and its position on the suffolk coast is ideal for striking out to many of the coast towns. The property is ideal for two people , warm and very homely with all the facilities you could wish for . The owners live in the same building and are very helpful as you would expect.

  • A lovely stay would recommend to people in future. Would make a lovely stay in winter with the log burner or use of the outside space in summer

    Michelle2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • We booked this stay as a spontaneous night away and it was absolutely gorgeous, whilst being very good value. The hut is so clean and tidy, with such thoughtful little touches. It was so well equipped with everything we needed. The fire was cosy and warm and we slept so well. The location was great for us and the hut is tucked away and feels very private. Couldn’t recommend this place enough! I’m sure we will back for future visits. Thank you very much Diane. Xx

    Molly2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay and we very much hope to return again. Such a cosy space, really comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. Great location, short drive to the coast. Lovely little touches such as home baked cakes and bread. Can't recommend highly enough.

    Ed2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The stay in the Shepherds Hut was so lovely. It is decorated to a high standard, even the radiators are to die for! Perfect little getaway where we spent our Saturday in Southwold, followed by a Sunday exploring Dunwich Heath. Diane left us essential items and fresh bread/slices of cake! The log burner was perfect after a long day out exploring. So peaceful, relaxing and cosy! We will definitely try to rebook in the summer. A must visit and excellent value for money!

    Becca2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to stay, a great location for the Suffolk Coast. The hut is very cosy, lovely bread, cake etc on arrival. Really enjoyed our night there.

    Tracy2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Idyllic stay, perfect location to unwind, facilities cater to all needs, comfy bed, Diane was a great host - welcoming with fresh bread and snacks provided! Highly recommend..

    Lewis2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely place to stay, so clean and spacious (moreso than expected) with lovely touches like homemade bread and lager in the fridge. The fire was lovely also. It wasn’t very clear where it was located until we were right outside the property and that was a little stressful, also the oven was manually lit and I had to ask how to work it so I felt a bother having to keep asking dianne questions but she did respond quickly. all round excellent choice.

Very much off the beaten track this self contained accommodation offers unspoilt views over Suffolk's traditional landscape, perfect for that getaway break. 10 miles from the Heritage Coast, the cottage adjoins our Suffolk 16th century farmhouse as can be seen from the photos.
Access to the property is via a quarter of a mile very unmade up track. Unless you are a fitness fanatic own transport is a must but be advised that lowered cars or those with sports suspension may not be going home again. The single storey dwelling includes kitchen/diner with Aga cooker and microwave, a large double bedroom with door through to bathroom with bath and shower and a comfortable sitting room with TV. Built only 12 years ago there is underfloor heating throughout, TV and Broadband Wifi. The woodburner in the sitting room is ornamental only! Whether you are seeking self contained privacy or a base to explore this wonderful area from, come up and try it. Sat Nav will find us.
A very peaceful and tranquil spot but within easy striking distance of the coast, the historic market town of Framlingham and the twin delights of Woodbridge and Southwold. The renowned arts centre that is Snape Maltings is but 20 minutes away.
  • As I wrote previously a wonderfully secluded cottage with views you never tire of. Highly recommended if you want peace and quiet but a lot of amazing places nearby

    Andrew2020-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • So good we have booked another week. If you want to escape from everything this is the place. Surrounded by fields with glorious walks an array of animals and birds to keep you occupied all day. Cottage warm and inviting. I cannot think of a better place to self isolate.

  • Could not recommend this airbnb more. We had the most relaxing stay. So quiet, and a very comfortable bed. Hosts were very welcoming and had lots of information about things to do in the area. Beautiful surrounding countryside good for walks to local pubs and villages. 20 min drive from the sea. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and had tea, coffee, and some breakfast things provided for us. There's a TV which has a dvd player.

    Lara2020-03-20T00:00:00Z

Our charming cottage, just a short drive away from the Suffolk Heritage Coast, sleeps 3 people. Visitors to the White Cottage have their own sitting/dining area, bathroom and 2 bedrooms up their own staircase. Boutique singer/songwriter studio available for hire-please enquire.
The White Cottage is a grade 11 listed dwelling dating back to the 17th Century. The cottage has views across the fields to the front , and a beautiful spacious garden to the rear. The property features open stud work, exposed timbers and a multi fuel stove. We have 2 bedrooms-sleeping 3 people. Although there is no kitchen for guests, a nespresso machine and a supply of coffee pods are provided. We recommend a visit to our very local farm shop cafe for a superb choice of cooked breakfast/brunch/lunch if required. Plates, cutlery, glasses and bottle opener are provided if guests want to bring their own provisions to the cottage,or order a takeaway to be delivered. Guests are also welcome to use the barbeque. An electric cold box is available for guests to chill drinks and food. Off street parking to the front of the cottage is available.
Lower Hacheston is North-East of the village of Wickham Market where there is a full range of facilities and shops, and we are fortunate to have a choice of pubs- just a short drive away, all serving fantastic food. Campsea Ashe has a recommended auction house, and local market on Monday mornings. The market towns of Framlingham and Woodbridge with nearby Sutton Hoo are also easily accessible and provide a wide range of shopping and leisure facilities. The Suffolk Heritage Coast is just a short drive away, and Snape, Aldeburgh, and Orford are all within easy reach.
  • Stylish and cosy cottage. Very clean and comfy and despite the lack of kitchen, a very enjoyable stay! Within 10 minutes of many pubs and other towns and the coffee machine was a nice touch. Would stay again :)

Our family has been holidaying at Westdene for four generations and it just gets better every year! Whatever time you choose to visit this unique part of Suffolk, there is a never-ending list of things to do. We have Netflix or Monopoly for the few rainy days and bikes and outdoor table tennis for sunny days. The house feels so spacious, but you will feel instantly at home. We are five minutes walk from the sea; two minutes from the pub; four minutes from the boating lake and golf club.
This is a cottage with a real family feel, but with lots of space to escape. The garden is a joy, with room for cricket or football. There is also a BBQ available for the many sunny days. The bedrooms are all large and there are three sofas in the lounge, as well as two big comfy armchairs. Comfort will follow you wherever you go in this house:) Well-behaved dogs are very welcome (not on furniture or in bedrooms), they will love the enclosed garden!
This is a village where you can do as much or as little as you like. Chill out with long beach walks or play golf, tennis, fish, cycle, shop, wine and dine. There is the beautiful boating lake (meare) for the kids to take out canoes, kayaks or rowing boats or the adults may prefer a punt or a sailing dinghy. There are islands for the kids to land on and explore, or you could take a picnic to eat on board the boat or on Pirate's Lair or Peter Pan's Property. A recent review - We had the best weekend staying at Westdene. It's a lovely seaside country home, really spacious yet retaining warmth and cosiness. The house comes with everything you could need from board games, to trampoline to loads of kitchen equipment. The location was amazing, with beach, lake and seaside town all within walking distance. Highly recommend taking boats out on the lake, visiting House in the Clouds and getting fish n chips in Aldeburgh. However, it was hard to be torn away from the amazing garden to be honest! Thorpeness is like nowhere I have been before- there is something very magical and charming about it. We didn't meet Julie but she was really helpful and accommodating. This was the perfect cottage retreat, full of things to do come rain or shine. We can't wait to come back!
  • We had a great stay at this beautiful home. Everything you needed was there, especially the kitchen which had a a great array of utensils for cooking and a great dvd collection. The rooms were comfy and the bathrooms great. This is a special find so close to the beach and great pubs (shame about Cornona !). Do stay here

    Alasdair2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend, the house was much more spacious than it looks in the pictures! Our children enjoyed the garden and the grown ups enjoyed the comfy sofas in the evening. We would love to stay again in future!

  • We had a lovely stay here for our anniversary weekend. Julie was a very welcoming host despite us arriving much later than planned! She made us feel welcome straight away. The cabin itself was lovely and cosy with everything we needed for the weekend. There were lots of suggestions for activities as well as lovely places to eat (the white horse inn down the road was delicious!) We had a lovely time and would definitely stay again!

Situated just 5 mins. walk from Snape Maltings 5 miles from the heritage coast at Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Orford. This is truly rural Suffolk with the Suffolk heritage coast and many interesting places on your doorstep. The garden annexe is completely private and separate from our house. A quiet retreat in an AONB. Use of our garden whenever you would like. Views of countryside and wildlife at the end of our garden. Complimentary breakfast included. Large private parking area.
Rural, peaceful setting in our garden. Self contained and private with your own access from the garden to conservatory leading to bedroom and shower room. Views over the garden and open countryside beyond. We have aimed to create a calm and restful retreat. We do not supply a television, we wanted the annexe to be a restful space and our guests tend to stay with us for walking, music and relaxation. If a television is very important this might not be the ideal stay for you. Please use the garden as much as you like.

  • Priscilla and Ricardo are wonderfully warm and thoughtful hosts who took great care to ensure we were comfortable during our stay in their lovely garden annexe. The annexe itself is set in their beautiful garden with a light and airy conservatory that looks over a stunning landscape - keen birdspotters be aware, you will LOVE it here. It was spotlessly clean, full of thoughtful decorative touches relevant to Suffolk and really cosy. You’ll have everything you need in this Airbnb including a delicious breakfast in the morning cooked fresh and delivered to your conservatory, prepare to feel spoiled! I want to also mention that my fiancé and I got engaged the weekend we stayed and Priscilla & Ricardo went the extra mile to make it that little bit more special. They both are model Airbnb hosts and we certainly will be returning in the future!

  • Priscilla's place is like a little oasis. Priscilla and Ricardo provide a beautiful breakfast to enjoy in your own conservator while enjoying the beautiful views and birdsong. They are fantastic hosts and went beyond the call of duty to make sure we had everything we needed.

  • This is one of the best Airbnbs we have stayed at. Priscilla and Ricardo are friendly and thoughtful hosts who want the guests to enjoy this day as much as possible. The room is comfortable, private and spotlessly clean. We also enjoyed eating the breakfast which Ricardo brought to the door of our conservatory each morning. Highly recommended.

Fancy staying in a zero carbon, eco house? Our new and truly unique home has plenty of room to welcome B&B guests. The Twin Room has a lovely view across the open fields opposite the house: it's upstairs and has easy access to the guest bathroom. We also have 2 other listings; The Green Room (a double) and Barretts Barn, which is self contained and sleeps 4. We're 5+ miles from Minsmere & the coast, 1.5 miles from the station & 100 miles from London.
My husband Pup and I designed and built our house ourselves, trying to make it as environmentally friendly as possible and with minimal help from specialists; it's very much a one off. Pup also makes furniture for a living and several pieces in the house were made by him. The home made, sustainable theme follows through to our breakfasts, which are simple, healthy and delicious: specialities include home-made brown bread toast and marmalade, Bircher Muesli, eggs from our own hens, home-grown fruit in season and good old porridge. If you have special dietary needs, please let me know in advance.
Yoxford is a pretty village not far from the Suffolk Coast and is sometimes known as 'The Garden of Suffolk'. There are lovely local walks here and lots to do and see in the area, birdwatching at Minsmere, Aldeburgh Festival and the Norfolk Broads, to name but a few. This area is also known for good local produce and here in the village there are several good places to eat out for a variety of budgets, including Mains Bistro, G&T's and The Kings Head . The nearest coast is about 5 miles away, with the ever popular Aldeburgh and Southwold, also within easy reach.
  • Sarah's home is most welcoming it is spotlessly clean. The beds, bedding and towels are all of a nice quality. Sarah and her husband are easy to chat with. They both gave good advice on locations to visit and directions. The breakfast provided was good. There are two pubs within 15 min walking distance of the house one of which provides good food and is where we had our evening meals. Would highly recommend Sarah and the house to anyone considering visiting the area in the future.

Only 15 minutes from Southwold, Walberswick and Dunwich and 5 minutes from the charming market town of Halesworth with its excellent range of pubs and restaurants. Totally private and self-contained, with a verandah, dog-friendly garden and parking. Great for romantic breaks or family holidays. Please message with any questions - Sarah :)
Robin's Rest is a new bungalow, yet has a cottage feel, nestled in a private corner of the Suffolk countryside. It is perfect if you wish to relax in complete privacy with your own securely fenced garden that is not overlooked and decked verandah, complete with bistro set for enjoying a morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Additional garden chairs are in the storage box. There is a horseshoe driveway and parking for two cars as well as a secure cycle shed for storage of bikes or any other items, like pushchairs. Wetsuits, bodyboards and crab-lines are all available for guests to borrow. The living accommodation offers seating, sleeping and dining for up to four guests. The comfortable sofa bed can be made up for your arrival or additional bedding left in the bedroom for you to assemble yourself. Please let me know if you'll be using the sofa bed. The kitchen contains all cooking /eating utensils, cutlery, mugs, range of glasses, washing-up liquid/cloth/scourer, tea-towels, chopping boards and tray. Tea and coffee (including decaffeinated) and sugar/sweetener is provided. There are two phone charging points in one of the plug sockets. The living area has two sofas - the corner sofa is the sofa bed and should stay in that corner, but the other sofa can be moved as required to look into the garden, face the other sofa across the coffee table or moved around for TV viewing. A DVD player is connected to the TV which has all Freeview channels. DVDs and games are provided as well as a selection of information about the local area. The bedroom has a king-size bed, two roomy built-in wardrobes with hangers, bedside cabinets and lamps. There is a full size mirror and hairdryer. I have a good quality travel cot/changing mat as well as a sturdy highchair on request. The bright, airy shower-room has a double shower with toiletries, hand and bath towels for each guest, loo, sink with storage underneath, a well lit mirror and shaving point. There is a useful coat cupboard with clothes dryer, ironing board/iron and a 'doggie box' that contains throws for the sofas, old towels, a drinking bowl, doggie treats and poo bags. A bin is provided in the garden for the disposal of any dog poo.
Walpole is a quiet village, with some lovely circular walks and excellent cycling. The Harmony Centre is situated close by to Robin's Rest which offers a range of alternative therapies. Halesworth is a 5 minute drive away and has a large Co-op supermarket (with bakery), a wide range of local shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes, a Wednesday market, library, Town Trail, and large park (with play area and skatepark). There is a Boots chemist and an emergency minor injuries service at the doctors surgery (see info folder).
  • Robins Rest is simply divine: light and airy, beautifully equipped, dog friendly and convenient for all the beauty spots. It simply could not be better! And Sarah is an absolute gem of an hostess, so kind and helpful. I will certainly be returning to enjoy this wonderful Walpole retreat.

  • I have just returned from another great week at Robin's Rest, It was the second time I have stayed and I am so glad I chose to again. Sarah is such a friendly and welcoming host and her place is perfectly located to explore one of my favorite areas in the UK. Robin's Rest is very comfortable and relaxing. It is well equipped and had everything I needed. I will definitely be back! Thank you Sarah!

  • We’ve just returned from a weekend at Sarah’s place, our fourth. We feel so comfortable there and would highly recommend it. The location is convenient for Halesworth town with its shops, pubs and green spaces. The Suffolk coast is close by car. There is so much to do in the area and then you return to the haven of Sarah’s place. This was our first visit as dog owners. Daisy and her cousin were most welcome and Sarah has a well stocked ‘doggy box’. We love it here 😍

  • Stayed here for a birthday treat. Absolutely perfect stay. Great location and amenities, especially the visitor book with lots of info in for local attractions etc. Thank you, Sarah!

  • Robin's rest is the perfect place to have a weekend getaway with your family. Very peaceful, I really enjoyed seatting outside in the back garden reading a book with a warm blanket and a cup of tea while my kids were inside playing. The cabin is equipped with everything that you may need, and the host Sarah is very nice and friendly. Highly recommended!

  • We have just returned after 4 nights at Robin's Rest and I have to say this was the best stay we ever had! We have had a few! But this little bungalow was perfect for us in every way, we took our small dog and there was a wonderful fully fenced off garden with a decking and enough grass for her to run around and sniff the 'sniffs' with particular mention to the rabbit sniffs that she got very excited about! She particularly enjoyed sitting on the decking on 'guard' to make sure none of those pesky hoppers got in to the garden! Sarah had provided pooh bags, treats, even food, blankets and throws for the sofas and even a special outside bin for the pooh bags. The kitchen was great very self contained with lovely clean units and lots of work space, I particularly liked the recycling boxes with clear instructions of how to use them. There was so much information in the folder that Sarah had put together, if you wanted to see it, do it, find it, it was in that folder and everything that wasn't, was clearly labelled and/or explained. There was lots of cupboard space, 2 wardrobes with a deep shelf each and plenty of room for a shoes, bags and cases, there were also 2 bedside cabinets with 3 drawers each, which was great for underwear and make up and things. The bed was a king size which I was very pleased about, I don't like small beds! There was a large shower with plenty of hot water and complimentary and very good quality toiletries, I never normally use them as they tend to be cheap and sometimes nasty, but these were Tresemme and Soap and Glory, the toilet paper was also a good quality tissue. There were also complimentary teas, coffees and sugar, which I was very pleased to find as I had forgotten my sweeteners only to find a jar with lots in! Everywhere was absolutely spotless, so very clean, compact and well organised. I would definitely recommend Sarah's place, we will definitely visit again.

Family and dog friendly, self-catering accommodation in listed farmhouse. Set in the beautiful Alde Valley, within easy reach of the Suffolk Heritage Coast.
White House Farm is an early 17th century listed farmhouse, partly remodelled in the late 18th century. It retains lots of original features and character, and sits within beautiful countryside with views across water meadows and woodlands. The guest accommodation is the front part of the farmhouse. We live in the back. The accommodation is completely self contained with its own front door and separate amenities. It has a well equipped kitchen with a large dining table and 6 chairs; sitting room with 2 sofas, a desk, and a woodburner; bathroom with bath and overhead shower; master bedroom with king size bed and a fabulous view over the water meadows; cosy twin bedroom. We can provide a high chair and travel cot. The stairs are winding and a bit steep, so may not be ideal for those with limited mobility. But we do provide stair gates, top and bottom, to keep our young guests safe. There's a good sized garden for our guest's own use, with uninterrupted views across the adjoining meadow.
The countryside around White House Farm is beautiful with plenty of good walks to be had without getting in the car. We're on the edge of Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). Aldeburgh, on the coast, is 20 minutes drive, and other coastal villages & towns; Dunwich, Thorpeness , Walberswick & Southwold also within easy reach. Snape Maltings, home of The Aldeburgh Festival, is 15 minutes drive. With concerts and events, shops, cafes, galleries and walks. Our award winning local pub, The Sweffling White Horse, is quite unique and well worth the 20 minute stroll. It's only open Fri, Sat, Sun & Mon evenings and Sun lunchtime, and doesn't serve full meals. But it does do fantastic pies (heated up in the wood-burning range in the bar) and other "snacks" to soak up the local real ales. Our other local, The Glemham Crown (2 miles), is more conventional and serves good food most nights. The nearby market town Framlingham (5 miles), has several good cafes, pubs & restaurants, and market on Saturday & Tuesday, as well as its famous Castle. Saxmundham (4 miles) has a Waitrose, Tesco and a market on Wednesday.
  • Absolutely delightful house in a lovely part of Suffolk. We loved our break there. Anna and Craig are brilliant hosts. Highly recommended!

  • We had a wonderful stay in White House Farm. The cottage is beautiful; spotlessly clean and very comfortable with welcoming touches such as fresh flowers and firewood for the wood burner in the evenings. We came away feeling truly relaxed, having enjoyed the surrounding beautiful countryside, and hunker down in cosy surroundings at the end of the day. There were plenty of DVD's and games to keep us entertained, and the kitchen was very well equipped so that we could eat well during our stay! Anna always responded quickly, and was very welcoming. Thank you for a fantastic stay, we would certainly come again!

  • Lovely, warm, peaceful and relaxing place to stay. First class accommodation in a beautiful part of Suffolk. Good walking from the door and lots of places to visit within a short distance. Very highly recommended.

  • We had a fabulously relaxing weekend at White House Farm. The peace and charm of the place is evident as you arrive, and everything is spotlessly clean and prepared with real care. We all slept so well in the very comfortable beds, in the quiet of Sweffling, and it was a delight to wake to the views of the countryside in the morning. Returning from a day at the coast in nearby Aldeburgh, we lit the fire (which was already prepared for us) and spent a cosy evening in the tastefully decorated lounge. Anna and Craig are attentive hosts, recommending some great local places to eat, and I’d highly recommend White House Farm as a wonderful place to stay.

  • Excellent accommodation, spacious and clean with good shower facilities. View across lake is a plus. The 3 steps up to the property are quite deep and would present difficulty for those with walking issues. Visitors should not follow the post code on the website as there are other properties in the area with the same post code.

  • Stayed at this lodge and had a fabulous time from start to finish. Pictures do not do the lodge the justice it deserves. Was very spacious and comfortable. Kitchen had everything you needed. Free WiFi was great. Perfect location for the fishing lakes and only a few minute walk from all the facilities. The caretaker lady Debbie was very helpful and even provided little touches such as milk tea and coffee for our arrival. Would definitely stay again.

    Peter2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lance's Lodge is beautiful, it totally exceeds all expectations and has all the comforts of home. Debbie the caretaker is so helpful and looks after everything brilliantly. We wanted to stay forver and will definitely come again. The site services are good, enjoyed the outdoor pool. Didnt really use the other entertainment much as was lovely just staying in the lodge and going out and about round suffolk. Anita

  • A perfectly peaceful stay, so quiet watching the wild life on the pond, surrounded by trees and fields and listening to birdsong. The cottage is well placed for trips to the coast and it was so lovely to return to, being so well equipped for a cosy, comfortable stay. Tina and Chris live in the main house and were discreet but on hand if needed. We would definitely recommend and is on the list to return to.

    Helen2019-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Tina’s cottage. It is based in their garden and overlooks the pond - beautiful in the morning watching the ducks. There was milk, cookies, eggs and a bottle of wine waiting for us on our arrival which was a lovely touch. Tina gave us some information about the local area and there was also plenty of brochures. We ate in The Crown and also The Station in Framlingham, would recommend both.

  • I stayed in Caxton Studio for 2 nights whilst in the area on a work trip. I found it very comfortable and everything I needed for my stay was there. There is an off-road parking space right outside the flat which was great. The shower is very good! The host gave me a warm welcome and left fresh milk in the fridge for my arrival which is always nice. The area is very quiet, I had no problems getting to sleep. Great for a solo traveller looking for somewhere affordable to stay near the Suffolk coast.

The accommodation is cosy, although it was nice we were given a fan as did get very warm. I would imagine it must be very toasty in the winter. The beds are very comfy and we would definitely visit again if we are in that vicinity.

  • We enjoyed our stay here and think the check-in process with key box works well for arrival at any hour. The staff at Carlton Meres were friendly and helpful when we first arrived, helping to point us in the right direction to our particular cabin. The space is bright and cosy and accurately described through photos. The one thing we’d say is that whilst the space was superficially clean, we did see a fair amount of dust and dirt down the side of beds and some dirty glasses in cupboards. However, we still think this is a good value option for the area.

Beautiful cottage in the heart of Yoxford - with a cafe, restaurant, pubs, well stocked shop and local antique and art dealers on the doorstep. Near the Suffolk Coast, and an easy drive on the A12 to the lovely seaside towns of Aldeburgh & Southwold, music & arts at Snape Maltings, bird watching at Minsmere and Dunwich, and plenty of coastal walks. The cottage has 2 double bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and living room & bathroom, a quiet leafy garden to the front and a back yard.
In the heart of Yoxford, but off the busier High Street, Blythburgh cottage is in a quiet location, behind the popular Main's Restaurant. The cottage has a garden to the front which catches lots of sunshine. Downstairs is an open plan kitchen (fully equipped, with an induction hob, oven and a small dishwasher), dining space (with a table and chairs for four - though up to eight will fit at a squeeze if you are entertaining!) and living room with a woodburning stove for when evenings turn chilly. The bathroom is downstairs and has a lovely walk in shower, with great water pressure, and towels provided. There is also a washing machine, and a drying rack (in summer you can hang clothes in the back yard). At the back there is a yard, and there are table and chairs which can be moved if you prefer them in the front garden. Firewood is in the shed to the back of the decking. Upstairs are two cosy double bedrooms, with exposed beams, and cute cottage windows. Out to the front near the shed and parking space (which is for the next door School Cottage) are bins for recycling (blue top) and for other rubbish. Parking to the front of the cottage is not permitted - this is reserved for the cottage next door but there is lots of safe on street parking on the High Street and on the cul de sac by the Primary School. Couple of notes - The cottage is old - with low ceilings - so particularly leaving the bedrooms, and between the kitchen and the dining area do mind your head if very tall. Please also take care on the decking at the back, as it can become slippery when it rains.
Yoxford is called the 'Garden of Suffolk' and is a beautiful and friendly village. The village has a well stocked shop, an award winning cafe on the High Street (G&T's) and two pubs (The King's Head, and the Griffin Inn - both dog friendly, both serve food) , Mains is a Good Food guide listed restaurant (10 metres from the cottage!), which is open for dinner Thu/Fri/Sat, and brunch on Saturdays. It is is very popular so book for dinners! There is an art gallery and several antique shops. The village is on the A12, which connects Lowestoft with Ipswich. It is a 7 min drive to Saxmundham where there are bigger supermarkets (Tesco, Waitrose), 2 mins drive (or 20 mins walk) to Darsham which has a rail station. Within 10-15 mins drive you are at Dunwich, Minsmere, Westleton Heath, Warbleswick which all have lovely walks and usually a pub or cafe on the way for a stop-off! In 20 mins you are in the beautiful seaside towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh, where you will find great walks, restaurants, shopping etc. Each has a very sweet Cinema also. Snape Maltings is a centre for arts - and in the Summer the Aldeburgh Festival is in full swing. There are numerous golf courses around - Aledeburgh being a particularly special one. Cycling in the area is also very possible - with lots of small roads and tracks to be explored. I've left OS maps of the area in the house. You are also in 30 mins of the historical towns of Woodbridge, Orford and Framlingham (which has an impressive and really atmospheric castle - and a Mere which you can walk around in under an hour).
  • We had a lovely stay over new year in this quintessentially English cottage. Great decor, super log burner and so cosy we loved it and the host went above and beyond to make our stay fab. The location is great with Southwold and Aldeburgh a short drive away.

  • Cosy and stylish cottage. Loved the walk in shower and wood burning stove. Comfy rooms. Really great decor. Anna was easy to get in touch with and left information and suggestions, as well as very thoughtful extras. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

  • We had a lovely stay at Anna's place. The cottage is beautiful and comfortable, quiet, and located in pretty village of Yoxford. Enjoyed relaxing with the wood burner. Mains restaurant just in front of the cottage did us some great pastries and bread and their main menu also looks great for an evening meal.

  • Beautiful cottage, perfect for weekend away to recharge.

  • What a fantastic cottage - Cute, cosy and located in the lovely village of Yoxford. I can't recommend this place highly enough. The cottage had everything you could ask for, including some milk in the fridge for our arrival. Comfy beds, a wonderful shower and nicely heated for the cold winter evenings, this place is perfect.

    Jonny2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy, cute & characterful. Historical building, yet stylish & efficient - powerful shower, oven and heating. Perfect location for Walberswick, Aldeburgh and Lavenham. Loved 2 Magpies bakery and deer at Captain’s Wood walk.

  • I stayed in Anna’s charming little cottage for 2 nights with my colleague. We both found it very attractive, convenient and comfortable. Communication with Anna was very quick and clear. A great base to explore East Suffolk from; it’s towns, countryside and coast.

A lovely barn conversion tucked away in the beautiful Suffolk countryside and a short drive to the coast. This self-catering cottage has been carefully restored to preserve the original character of the former cart lodge and has lots of natural light. The living areas have been stylishly furnished and there is a wood-burning stove for cosy holidays throughout the colder months.
The village of Yoxford has very good amenities starting with two pubs, the Kings Head and the Griffin, plus a very good corner shop for newspapers and groceries, a lovely cafe called G&T's which is excellent for freshly prepared meals and cakes, Mains Restaurant which also has excellent evening meals from Thursday to Saturday inclusive and a wonderful bakery and brunch on Saturday mornings until 1 pm. There is an excellent farm shop in the next village 'Emmerdale' with locally reared meat, vegetables, etc., and a tea room - also good for breakfasts. The local villages have some excellent pubs and shops and the beaches along the Suffolk Heritage Coast are only 15 minutes drive.
  • Wonderful, quiet, comfortable

  • The Plough is a lovely cottage, surrounded by countryside views. We especially liked the little wood burner in the evening! (Worth noting your SatNav may say you've arrived about a mile before you actually get there! Just keep driving to the end of the road)

    Lucy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn't wish of a better place to hide during storm Denis! The cottage is so cosy, we loved the woodburner and had a very relaxing time. It is very quiet and excellent sound proofing between the rooms- (we had a toddler with us!). Loved the cake and pot of tea on arrival Marion is a very caring hostess! We hope to be able to come back again!

With Dunwich Beach a stones throw away and overlooking the stunning Dingle Marsh Nature Reserve Avocet Cottage is a truly special place to stay on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. The South facing, private garden, looks out over the marshes and you can hear the sea lapping at the beach. You might even be lucky enough to spot the deer that live in the paddock opposite the garden! The Suffolk Coastal Path runs adjacent to our driveway and is perfect for exploring the coast...
Avocet has two large bedrooms, one family size bathroom and an extensive open plan living/dining/kitchen space perfect for entertaining. The south facing courtyard is completely enclosed so is safe for children and pets. This 18th century cottage boasts exposed, original beams and hand made oak doors throughout along with all the modern amenities that the 21st Century traveler could need!
Dunwich is a sleepy coastal village on the famous Suffolk Heritage Coast . The village is the perfect place to relax and unwind with the beach a mere stones throw away and the local pub a two minute walk down a sleepy lane.
  • A perfect holiday home. Clean and bright and beautifully laid out and finished to a high quality. The sheer amount of widows and glass doors overlooking the garden filled the cottage with natural light. The location is fab, just on the edge of Dunwich and easy walking distance to the beach/pub. And, easy driving distance to all sorts of other villages and towns. I’m looking for reasons to book it again.

  • We had a great stay, the cottage is clean and comfortable with plenty of room. It is a great base for exploring the area by car to nearby Southwold and Aldeburgh. It’s a short walk to a nearby beach, which is lovely for a walk around. There is a pub up the road that does nice fish and chips. The tea rooms next door is also great for lunch! Thank you for a lovely stay, we highly recommend it.

NEWLY INSTALLED WIFI AND ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGE UNIT. Moo Cottage is a converted cattle building set on a country estate, nestled slightly inland from the Heritage Coast, and midway between Southwold and Aldeburgh. It is one of the region’s very best kept secrets. Rookery Park, Yoxford is a place of great natural beauty, situated in the ‘garden of Suffolk’. Moo Cottage is a perfect location for a peaceful break where you can relax, be comfortable and feel warmly welcomed.
Moo Cottage has just installed a Rolec wallpod, mode 3, untethered type 2 charge unit for electric vehicles.
  • Perfect cottage for our trip - clean, great communication, lovely welcome pack and had all essential amenities we needed. Lovely views and easy walk to the village. Thanks so much!

  • Beautiful, sedate stay in a very comfortable cottage with everything you need! Highly recommended!

    Melvinder2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We would definitely recommend Moo Cottage to anyone that wanted a quiet weekend away. The cottage was sparkly clean and had everything you could possibly need. Gemma also kindly left a welcome pack...just as well, as we forgot the milk! Moo Cottage was like home from home...we will definitely be visiting again... Next time...minus the children!

    Richard2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Moo Cottage is very cozy, private and peaceful. I stayed during a winter storm and felt very snug and safe but I would imagine a summer stay would be delightful with the patio doors opening to views across the parkland. Gemma’s instructions were very accurate and there were some lovely welcoming touches like bread, eggs, milk etc plus a full kitchen including dishwasher. I would definitely recommend Moo Cottage. It is cozy enough for a couple but also spacious enough for a small group of friends.

    Michelle2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Amazingly relaxing trip with a perfect location

    Adam2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Moo Cottage is delightfully situated on a private country estate. The house is very clean and tidy, and is excellently equipped. It is extremely comfortable, and is perfect for a couple and two children, or for two couples. Gemma was a delight to deal with, and all practicalities were very straightforward. The area is full of interest, from the wonderful coastal towns of Southwold, Walberswick and Aldeburgh to umpteen fascinating churches such as Blythburgh (with its famous carved angels on the roof), Wenhaston (with its stunning medieval Doom painting), Bramfield (with its separate round tower and painted rood screen) and Walpole Old Chapel (a fascinating 17th-century chapel that was created from two old farmhouses). There are many excellent foodie pubs in the area, including the King's Head in Yoxford, which is easy to walk to from the cottage. Moo Cottage is the perfect place for a quiet and interesting Suffolk break: highly recommended. We look forward to returning.
