  • Absolute perfection! Truly there is no way I can say enough wonderful things about the Wheel of Bliss retreat. From sacred, gorgeous temperate rainforests, streams, and mountains with incredibly fun and well kept trails to the remarkably comfortable and well appointed home with stunning views from every window and decks galore to experience the beautiful parts of the day and the gorgeous stars at night to the yurt for yoga, meditation, dance, or prayer, I could not recommend a stay here more. I stayed three weeks and can't wait to return.

  • We had a very fun and relaxing time at Colin’s retreat. It’s a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and get in touch with nature. Colin was very helpful and responsive. I would recommend to any group looking to rent!

  • This home is a special place! It has hiking trails that are well maintained to walk and observe all of nature’s beauty and presence. This space has a welcoming sense as you arrive. I love all the prayer flags! The sounds of the river are calming. The cascades of the swimming holes are so soothing to all the senses! The full kitchen and outside deck with grill made this space wonderful for nice meals to share with loved ones. The fire pit made a great space to zone into the earth and the sounds of nature. What a great deck to observe the full harvest moon! If your looking for a place to go inward and enjoy the nature with less distractions, this place has a medicinal place in my heart. I appreciated access to yoga mats, spaces throughout to meditate and breath, and the bathtub and sauna to restore! Rob, the caretaker, made the stay even better with all his kindness and help to ensure our stay was most comfortable. I have no reservations in recommended this sacred space to those who are looking for a special air B and B experience. It is definitely a neat place to even have a retreat for yoga, family, and fur baby friends. Thanks again for this special experience!

When you arrive at TreeTop Tipi you will be welcomed by the canopy of trees. Park at the bottom of the driveway and enjoy the short nature walk up the driveway to the communal fire-pit area. Equipped with picnic table and ample seating you will enjoy late nights under the stars roasting dinner and dining together around a warm fire. We have made sure to provide firewood for your use, but with all of the rain we have been having, please be sure to keep the wood covered. Head up the short hand crafted gravel path with landscape lights to guide you to your TreeTop retreat. Simply punch in the provided code to open the door to your relaxing stay. Enjoy amenities such as internet, propane cooktop with cast iron pan provided, mini fridge and electricity to make your stay as convenient and hassle free as possible. We also have the luxury of a full bathroom, toilet vanity and shower included along with a heater for the chilly winter days. The tipi itself is equipped with both heat and air conditioning (and is fully insulated). Sit back and unwind in our hand crafted reclined chairs and dim the lights on the unique antler chandelier. No worries about the late night, you can enjoy a hot cup of coffee on the porch the next morning after being gently awoken to the natural light and countless singing birds in the canopy of trees you gaze out on. In your city escape you will truly feel like you're in paradise and all within minutes of restaurants, shopping, late night drinks and ample activities for families and couples alike. We have a nice bring a bottle, leave a bottle of wine policy at the tipi. If you open a bottle of wine with the intent to drink it, but do not have a chance to replace it, no worries. We have a $10.00 fee you can place in the wine box for your convenience. We will also happily send you a request if you would prefer to pay for the wine through the Airbnb site instead. But please let us know so we can replace the bottle for the next guest to enjoy! (It really helps us to know to bring the extra bottle during the changeover for next guests! So thanks in advance!) In regards to your furry friends; we will only accept your well behaved dogs with a 30.00 pet fee, the understanding that they are not allowed on the furniture, you are responsible any damages incurred while they are staying at our location and prior discussion with us. Due to the lack of respect of other guests about communicating about our pet policy, if you bring a pet without prior discussion we will charge a 60.00 deep cleaning fee and make sure to note it on your review as a guest. Communication is so important to us, please never hesitate to ask questions or to let us know what your needs are! We strive to make every guest's stay with us to be special and enjoyable retreat. Looking forward to hosting you.
The neighborhood is quaint and neighbors are very friendly although seldom seen as our properties are quite spaced. The roughly 2 mile drive up from Downtown Marshall is a pleasant windy road decorated with wild flowers at the right time of year and pops of beautiful views along the way. You will truly enjoy the drive.
  • A wonderful relaxing getaway!

  • Such a unique getaway spot! Highly recommend for a private spot outside Asheville

    Angela2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very unique and delightful place! We just stayed one night as we were passing through on a road trip, but it was a perfect place to get some rest on our route!

    Jill2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The tipi was well worth the drive. Inside was much bigger than expected and very comfortable. The heaters helped to keep the tipi nice and warm regardless of the weather outside, and everything was nice and clean when we arrived. The fire pit and charcoal grill were a nice touch, although it was too rainy during my stay to put either of them to good use. All in all, we loved our short stay at the tipi and hope to return soon.

    Dillon2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great stay if you want a fun and unique experience!

    Danielle2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a neat experience staying in a tipi in the mountains! Enjoyed the fire pit at night and when we woke in the morning it was snowing. We stayed warm with the blankets, heaters and the bathroom has a heater too. Don't pass up this opportunity if it is available.

Welcome to our (320sf/29m) rustic 'stuga'. We live 20 minutes from Asheville and 7 minutes to the quaint river town of Marshall. Folks love our place for the homemade character of the cabin, mountain views and interesting farm setting. It is perfect for couples or a single traveler seeking minimalist simplicity. Doggies welcome too! Un-plug in style while enjoying proximity to major sights, with starry night skies and a sunrise over our orchards and gardens.
Rustic elegance. Our cozy cabin is two-stories tall, on top of a hill overlooking our 'home hill' of 2.5 acres covered in young fruit shrubs and nut trees. On the first floor is the kitchen, small dining area and porch. Upstairs is a full-size bed and reading nook with mtn views. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, an electric burner, spices, oil, and a water heater (for coffee or tea), small fridge, and drinking water. The water system is rustic, but it works well. Fill up your own water from the spigot nearby. The cabin has an outhouse a short walk away, but no shower or bath. In cold weather, there is a space heater and a Turkish wood cookstove, the cabin is tight and heats up easily in winter. There's a garden fence that doubles as a pet enclosure (Yes, your doggies are welcome!) a fire ring for enjoying the nighttime out-of-doors and 3 miles of interesting walks and steep trails around the neighborhood that we have developed. We are slowly building an outhouse & seasonal bathhouse close to the cabin. People have booked our cabin for romantic getaways, for personal writing and music retreats but mainly for it's awesome proximity to hiking and culture. Many folks come to get a feel for staying in a tiny home and for it's interesting array of plants.
The neighborhood is rich with interesting people and projects, including an artisan cheese dairy and the 'Prama Institute and Wellness Center'. Geoff is an agro-forester who has helped develop most of the trails and planted fruit and nut trees around the neighborhood. You may notice that we are building a second larger guesthouse with attached greenhouse This is a great weekend getaway for people wanting to get away from the city, enjoy a taste of Asheville, read and write, or become engaged to their partner (twice happened!) Dogs are welcome and we are an affordable option to host small 40+\- person wedding ceremonies and receptions.
  • Cute little house in a very relaxing setting! I had a great time exploring the mountains and the owners were very welcoming and hospitable.

  • So many great things about this place. I wish we could’ve stayed longer. Great for people who love the outdoors and breathtaking views. We were able to bring our pet with us which made everything so enjoyable.

  • WONDERFUL SECLUDED PLACE. GREAT VIEWS. MINIMALISTIC LIFESTYLE & TINY HOUSE IF that's not your style and your not a fan of outhouses (Clean & sanitary no foul smell well kept) outdoor shower and true outdoor living dont book. I PERSONALLY LOVED IT!!!! However just beware this isn't for the prissy or needy.

  • This peaceful retreat was just what we needed. The house space is lovely but the real treat is the abundance of outdoor amenities. We had such a wonderful time meeting the animals, exploring the trails, and relaxing on the swing up by the ridge overlook—such a gorgeous landscape. Rock and Kristalyn have put so much love into this property. Definitely one of our favorite stays, we can’t wait to return!

    Mike2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy tiny house was perfect for three college students on spring break! The area is so peaceful and beautiful, we especially loved taking a walk in the morning and saying hi to the alpacas and goats :)

    Sara2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning place with friendly hosts that met with us so we could pet/feed the animals on the property. Fantastic lookout views, would 10/10 recommend and plan on coming back someday

    Hunter2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny home was easy to find and perfect for what we needed! They even left us a “happy anniversary” post card. It was cozy and cute, I wish we could’ve had more time to explore the property.

    Brigitte2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Rock's place. The property is amazing. The lookouts and trails were well maintained and beautiful. The zipline was a hit with the kids, as were the animals and swings.

    Staci2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great space! Peace, quiet, and land to explore in abundance. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

    Jamal2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I rented out the tiny for a weekend getaway. The hospitality was great, and when it snowed, Rock and Kristallyn even shoveled the steps for us. Very close to an awesome animal sanctuary called farmony, also just a short drive to downtown Marshall and only about a half hour to Asheville. Very easy to find, everything was clean and comfortable and we will definitely be back again. There is an amazing tree fort and several awesome views to see on the property.

    Ethan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely great people and great location, the animals & land are stunning. Will definitely be back! Would recommend to anyone, the small life is my favorite.

Take a 1/10th of a mile hike up the mountain to a very private off the grid 10x12 tent with wood floors surrounded by trees and song birds. Get away from the everyday stress of cell phones and computers and enjoy nature to it's fullest.
**PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING** The tent is located a 1/10th of a mile on a semi steep trail up the mountain. You will have a real bed with clean sheets, make coffee or tea to drink with your morning breakfast on the camp fire while watching the birds. Check in at 3pm. Check out at 11 am. Please check in before dark since guests will be hiking to tent. We are located way up in the mountains with graveled back roads, so in the winter months AWD or 4WD should be seriously considered! If it snows and you do not have AWD , you may be stuck on the mountain for a day or two. It also gets cold and the only source of heat in the tent is a wood burning stove so please have some experience in fire building. In the summer months there are bugs. If you are scared of bugs please take this into consideration before booking.
The neighborhood is very wooded with low traffic, picturesque gravel road and few neighbors. All the wood to build the tent and out house were logged and milled from our own property. The Martha Sundquist State Forest is a 15 minute walk with lots of trails and beautiful creeks through out. We are a 15 min. drive to ziplining and white water rafting. The Bean Trees Cafe is located in Hartford and is open in the spring and summer months. They have riverside dining and live bands every Thursday night after Memorial Day and before Labor Day.
  • A great off the grid space! Thoughtful touches for the stay and it is the cutest spot!

    Caitlin2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had an AMAZING time! Every detail is so thoughtfully planned out. We were comfortable and cozy even in the middle of winter! We can’t wait to come back in the summer

    Samantha2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • 10 stars! My husband, two school-aged children and I just returned from two nights of camping for New Years at Song Sparrow. The wooded setting on their property is is beautiful, quiet, and very private. Tiffany and Eric are the absolute best hosts. So friendly and helpful. They truly think of everything one could need for easy, enjoyable “glamping” - homemade sour dough bread, organic eggs from their many chickens, fresh drinking water at the site, seasoned firewood, including kindling, lanterns, a trash can, cast iron pans, grilling utensils, ceramic dish ware, and even a pour-over coffee maker with filters! The platform tent, trimmed off with mini solar lights, with its wood-burning stove is charming, cozy, and comfortable even in 30 degree temps (we did use our own down backing sleeping bags with 15 degree ratings). If you’ve camped and are accustomed to typical stinky outhouses you’ll think you’ve died and gone to heaven using the collating toilet with clean, running water in the little out building. Literally zero odor. An amazing time was had by all four of us and we’re already planning our next trip back! Thank again Tiffany and Eric! Give the dogs a pat on the head for the girls!

    Emma2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wow this place was cool. What an amazing escape from the city. Tiffanie and Eric have thoughtfully put together a rustic but very comfortable space for relaxation. The dogs were a great addition as well—well behaved and great companions. They didn’t even beg for food when cooking! It is helpful to know how to build a simple fire and light a wood stove if it’s cold. We were pleased to hear that bears aren’t a problem in the area, so no special food storage procedures are required. The bed is comfortable and the tent is in great condition. I would not hesitate to stay here in wet or cold weather. My only caution would be that the walk up to the tent is of moderate steepness so somebody who doesn’t get around all that well could have a bit of difficulty walking up to the tent.

    Nicholas2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very private and just a great getaway to spend some time with a loved one or clear your mind. Great experience

    Brandon2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I went for a short get away. We found this location to have everything we needed. Which made the camping experience so much more enjoyable. The tent was homey and clean. We traveled locally and found it was easier to find our way around than we initially thought it would be. We have already referred several friends and plan to return.

  • Karlie's and Glenn's Cabin was a very nice get away location, we enjoyed being surrounded by nature. We loved the kitchen that had everything we needed. Our two dogs loved the fenced yard to play around. The two queen sizes bed were super comfortable and the little heaters in our rooms kept the bedroom warm and cozy. We enjoyed going to the Max Patch and had the opportunity to see a lovely sunset from there. Since we got to the cabin there was no wifi network working so that was a little stressful, but Glenn help us with everything( phone numbers, directions) we needed to go exploring so that was very helpful. I would totally recommend staying here, thank you!

  • This magical little cabin in the woods perfectly fit my requirements for a quick get-away. Secluded, a fireplace, the sound of the creek, separate bedrooms for all of us, and dog-friendly. Bonuses included the firepit outside and surprisingly, no WiFi. There was a storm that moved through before we got there and knocked it out. It turns out that detox was exactly what we all needed. The quiet was amazing. I came home decompressed and ready to face daily life again. Thank you!

  • Great cabin!! My family and I really enjoyed our time there.

    Aileen2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, realy rustic cabin in the middle of the Mountains. We had a relaxing, warm and fantastics days, we found all we need in the kitchen, great view and my old dog was happy walking around despite the cold outside.

  • A great place to get away in the West Carolina Mountains! It was such a relaxing experience and I felt like I was in my own home!

    Andrew2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had our wedding weekend here and it was just perfect. Space for our guests, and a large yard and firepit which was just what we needed. ABSOLUTELY RUSTIC, and exactly what we would expect a mountain cabin to be like, with so many little touches. It had so much character and just was beyond wonderful, and right up the road from Max Patch where we exchanged vows. We'll be back for our anniversaries for years to come! :)

    Gabrielle2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is outstanding! Perfect for the family and friends. The property is fenced in, which is great for your dog. Everything you need is in the cabin, from fire wood to cooking in the kitchen and feeling comfortable inside. Plenty of fun activities to do near by. Too notch place to stay.

Hot Springs NC is 10 miles north, the Appalachian Trail goes through the town. There are restaurants, a natural hot spring spa, and rafting. Max Patch Bald is 12.7 miles from the cabin. Asheville is a 45 minute drive; great restaurants, 40+breweries, and Biltmore Estates, great day trips.
Kitchen is equipped for three; dishes, flatware, pans, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, coffee, tea, sugar and creamers. Living area has leather sofa with recliners at each end, love seat is a sleeper sofa, wooden rocker and TV with cable. Just bring your groceries. Hot Springs has a Dollar General and Hillbilly Market. Beer and wine can be purchased "to go" in Hot Springs.
We are country! Dave's 209 Restaurant, 4 miles south, offers a country breakfast on Saturday's 7AM-11AM .This is our old rock built school which is worth a visit. Our Volunteer Fire-department is next door. Down the road another 2 mile is Trust General Store which has gas and ATM available. One other thing, 2 miles south there is Fowler Farms Sporting Clays-golf with a shotgun. Check their website.
  • What a beautiful, serene, little cabin out in the mountains! Roz’s cabin was the perfect size for my wife and I, along with our 4 dogs. Her place felt like a home away from home. Very clean, and well kept and had everything we needed for our stay. The fenced in back yard was perfect for our pups! The cabin is close to several hiking trails that we ventured out on and it was always nice coming back to the peaceful creek that runs behind the cabin. We will definitely be staying here again in the near future!

  • I can’t say enough good things about this cabin. Felt like a home from the moment we walked in the door. Very comfortable and thoughtful touches throughout

    Nathaniel2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I don't think we could of lucked out more. The spring behing the cabin and the stars at night were incredible. We didn't need one thing while there despite all the things we forgot. Felt like staying in a familial home. We will most definitely be back!

    Amber2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little space hosted in Spring Creek by friends of my parents; not only was it convenient to my family’s location, but it was also comfortable and very cozy. Highly recommend and look forward to our next stay!

  • Loved the cabin! Great for pets, perfect size as well for two humans and two dogs. Charming, efficient and thoughtful space to spend a relaxing weekend.

    Alex2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great secluded cabin! The cabin was clean and really nice inside and out. Depending on your cell phone provider you may not get cell service and there is no wifi. No Verizon service, but T-mobile worked. The creek behind the cabin is beautiful and peaceful and the yard is fenced if you bring your furry companion :).

    Mykel2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to stay for hiking and bringing pups along for the trip! The house was clean and comfortable!

    Sara2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Me and a friend along with her pup stayed at Roz's place for a weekend while we did some hiking in the area. The cabin was beautiful and has everything we needed. The fire pit is situated right by the creek and you can hear the water and look at the stars at night. Just be prepared to have limited cell phone service!

Cozy, eco-friendly cabin just steps from the riverfront. Drink your morning coffee on the front porch listening to sounds of rushing water. Spend your days exploring, tubing, fishing and hiking among the 5 acres of pristine mountain property or at the half dozen nearby adventure centers. Grill your dinner on the back porch, talk and have drinks by the fire pit. S’mores, rock skipping, books, board games. You’ll be enchanted the moment you open our gate and drive through the lush forest.
If you seek simplicity, a connection to nature and family, a place to laugh loudly and run freely, then come on over. Please note, the cabin is not luxurious. There is no internet connection or a water tap. Water is provided in bottles, large jugs and through rain barrels. Shower is camping style. There is a small television that plays DVDs. A limited selection of movies, board games and books are on site.
We are located in Madison County, the Gem of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The drive is picturesque. We are situated just 15 minutes from Raft USA, French Broad Outpost, Blue Heron Whitewater, Nantahala Outdoor Center & charming downtown Marshall. We are just 20 minutes from Hot Springs Resort and Spa.
  • If you are looking for a spot to unplug, take a deep breath and let the senses wander, then this is the place to be. The cabin is cozy, rustic and tucked away in privacy with the creek running along right below it. Finding the cabin and maneuvering the minimalist amenities within the cabin were no issue at all. Between walking the property, sitting at the creek and spending the evening on the front porch, the 'unplugging' was more than met with satisfaction. The fireplace offered just enough warmth for comfort during the cooler evening hours as well as the early morning hours. Being able to access the Shelton Laurel Creek for fishing was most definitely among one of highlights for me. Planning on frequenting this Airbnb more in the near future. Great space!

    Karolin2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is a really great place to get away for a few days (or more)! Everything was clean and tidy. We didn’t cook anything this time but there are lots of dishes and utensils there to use. The temperature dropped at night but the space heaters provided kept the cabin warm. We enjoyed the fire pit and the river. We were able to text (didn’t try calls) but did not have any kind of data/internet/etc and it was AMAZING. It was so nice to disconnect. We plan to visit again and definitely recommend Beth and Boys’ cabin!

    Laura2020-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little cabin!

    Christina2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Definitely gets cold during fall/winter, so come prepared with extra space heater and/or plenty of wood

    Philip2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great house! Bring firewood for sure

    Dana2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beth's place was exactly as described! I appreciated her transparency in the listing and throughout our communication. The biggest note I saw in the reviews was the drive so I'd like to touch on that. I drive a 2014 Kia Soul and had 0 issues getting there. The drive to the cabin is gravel and is best navigated during daylight hours. However, it was a part of the adventure for us and we made it just fine at night with downloaded pictures of the directions and a positive attitude. This is the best getaway for people wanting to go off grid and enjoy nature. We rafted at NOC on the French Broad (a 15 min drive) with the best raft guide, Perry and had the time of our lives. We also visited Farmony animal rescue (10 mins from NOC) that was an unforgettable experience getting to interact with all different kinds of animals! The drive to Hot Springs and Asheville isn't bad at all either! Last thing, make sure to stop at the Laurel River Store and get a coffee (their Chai Tea Latte is great!). We are still reminiscing and planning our next getaway here!

    Haley2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very peaceful and relaxing even with the road so close by. While we didnt have any luck trout fishing in the stream, we still enjoyed trying and the sound of it at night. The place was equipped with all the things you would need for a weekend including condiments and eggs in the fridge, shampoo and toiletries, which was a pleasant surprise. This place is priced at an amazing deal for what all is included and its location. I would definitely like to stay here again sometime.

Just completed this little cabin located 25 miles from Asheville, NC in Marshall is a little piece of heaven. Located atop a mountain with clear views of the valley this place will make you question why you live in the city. Nothing to hear up here but the wind, the squirrels, and the birds. You can spend your evenings relaxing in the hammock with a cup of hot coco and the sound of a crackling fire or venture into Asheville where there is lots to do and see.
  • Bob's place is perfect for those that are trying to get away. The view from the porch is incredible, it was our favorite part. The cabin is also very secluded away from any other houses. Bob was also very hospitable and answered all questions we had quickly. My wife and I highly recommend a stay at Bob's cabin.

    Ryan2020-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • When I read the reviews about how the pictures aren't able to translate the beauty and tranquility of this cabin, it's very true. The views are spectacular, there are binoculars available to bird watch, squirrel watch or simply to enjoy nature up close. The privacy and comfort is priceless. The cleanlines is impeccable, and Bob's thoroughness in providing the smallest details were greatly appreciated (Sade Concert DVD 😊) and having wood chopped and available. It's doubtful that you would be disappointed in experiencing this mountain sanctuary!

    Joycelyn2020-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! Very private setting with a huge deck and the cabin itself is absolutely gorgeous! We were just in awe of the craftsmanship and quality of the place. Bob was awesome to work with during booking and throughout our stay—answered all our questions thoroughly and very quickly! The deck was a perfect setting and backdrop for our elopement! We absolutely plan to go back for another stay! 100% recommend this place!

  • Bob’s place encompasses perfection in many ways: surrounded by mountains, yoga on the deck, coffee around the campfire. Extremely soft bed and couch. It felt extra special that he recently built this gorgeous house. The majestic view helps you slow down. Worlds and worlds away.

  • What a wonderful weekend at Paint Rock! We pulled in around 4:45pm and the sun was in the process of getting ready to set. What a gorgeous panoramic view we were handed! Our cabin view was jaw dropping. Moses was kind, helpful, and selfless with helping not only our needs, but everyone else’s. Our stay had some cold nights, but we were prepared for that, so we were warm and cozy. Thankful for the clean and heated bathrooms. If you’re looking for a way to disconnect, share great stories, and absorb stunning views - this is your place. We will certainly return many times!

    Andrew2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Sweet little spot in the mountains. Great location and the view you wake up to is spectacular! It rained the whole time we were there, but the fun we had in the barn made up for that! Lovely spot.

    Zoe2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was the most magical place! We weren’t sure what we were expecting. However, the place was so intimate and perfect for a romantic getaway. We hiked on site and ate dinner at the Iron Horse in town and then made our own fire and roasted marshmallows. The bathrooms were clean and heated and there was free coffee and tea in the barn. The views were amazing and the railroad tracks were a great site. The night train may send away some, but it was the icing on the cake for us. Listening to the train go right past our cabin was so cool! The bed was super comfy and there were plenty of extra blankets available to keep warm. Sleeping under the moon and being able to see the mountains outline regardless of the dark sky was an unreal experience. Felt like a fairy tale! Will definitely be returning.

    Maddie2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • A relaxing and beautiful place with so much to offer. We will be returning in the future!

    Caleb2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The most ideal place ever. Unplugged and natural, but close enough to town to get dinner. The most amazing views of the river/ mountains, but the stars were the best part. Secluded and private but a real community feeling. We will 100% be coming back soon. The most relaxing getaway (even if only for 24 hours).

Imagine sleeping to the babbling waters of the French Broad River, flowing by only steps away. You will stay on a private and spacious campsite right on the banks of the river nestled amongst the trees. Relaxation at its finest.
Sweet sweet camping! Right on the banks of the French Broad River. It's called Sweet Spot for a reason. It’s a level and spacious spot with morning and evening shade and afternoon sun to enjoy your day. The sound of the river is ever present and delightful to hear. All you have to do is relax and enjoy the river! Can't you just hear the water calling you?
This is a private 39 acre farm with 360° mountain views right on the banks of the French Broad River. We are two miles from the quaint town of Hot Springs, home of the natural mineral spa. The neighbors on one side are a dairy farm and on the other is an abandoned Limestone mine.
  • This was a WONDERFUL camping experience!! When we arrived, the whole site was set up for us- tent with cots, chairs around the fire pit, a camp sink and stove, picnic table and work table, plus a tub with every cooking implement to make a campfire dinner :) All we had to do was show up with our cooler and sleeping bags! The property is so beautiful- right next to the French Broad River, with a pretty farm next door. There is also an artesian spring on the propriety. The kids and I had a great time exploring and fishing! Lisa and Paul are great hosts! My car battery died and they even gave us a jump. Highly recommend!!

    Stephanie2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful property with more space & privacy than most campgrounds (not a bad camping spot anywhere). We had a nice big fire ring and the sound of the river was so relaxing. Lisa and Paul were gracious, friendly hosts. We'll definitely return!

    Erin2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful place to stay. You have the river right outside your tent, you’re very secluded, and plenty of space to roam. There are great hiking spots nearby and you feel very welcomed as soon as you arrive.

    Matthew2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time! The campsite is beautiful, the tent was great, and the hosts were lovely. It was so nice not to have to deal with setting up/breaking down camp but still have a great camping experience. Had a lovely stay.

    Kate2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is great place! We really enjoyed our time at #9 "The Sweet Spot" and it was an added bonus that everything was there and set up. The camp sites are private and peaceful. The best part was the access to the river right off the campsite we really enjoyed being able to float in the river whenever we wanted. I do recommend bringing tubes & water shoes. This is truly a gem with all the different spots on the property from the river, the cold spring , the stars at night, the train and the old limestone mine. If you are feeling so inclined Hot Springs is a great little town with a coffee shop/ice cream shop, bars/restaurants just a few minutes away. I would also suggest checking out Laurel River trail, an easy walking trail to a local spot to hang out in the water. We look forward to coming back next year.

    Julia2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is camping as it should be - quiet, peaceful, relaxing. At Laughing Waters, one can truly unplug and be present in the beautiful setting of the mountains and the French Broad River flowing right by your campsite. Star gazing is amazing due to no light pollution. The fireflies put on quite a show whlle we were there over Memorial Day weekend. Camp sites are spaced far apart, so you have privacy and breathing room. The hosts were very gracious and helpful - they have ample camping supplies and can provide anything you may need. I am thankful they are willing to share such a beautiful place with others who want to experience nature in such a pastoral setting. Will definitely go back!

    Sam2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • I wasn’t personally able to experience this space. Lisa was very accommodating to the change of plans. My brother said wonderful things about the campsite and Hot Springs.

Covid update: We are following our county’s stay at home order guidelines regarding out of town guests. We may have to cancel your reservation to comply. We hope to open up dates as soon as possible! Equipped with all the simple essentials including running hot water. The kitchen includes sink, mini fridge, electric burner, toaster oven, and coffee maker. The bathroom has a shower and compost toilet. Enjoy your own fire pit and grill. We grow hops, hemp, vegetables, and pastured meats..
The yurt is situated on a quiet section of our land, on a rumbling creek with views of our mountain valley, pasture, and hop yard. While the yurt is a space that allows for reconnecting to nature, it provides all of the luxuries of vacation including a comfortable bed, TV for playing dvds, well equipped kitchen, and AC unit. (Please note, there is no heat source). Enjoy the view of the hop yard, hemp pasture, and mountains from the hot tub! Nice hiking trail from your front door. Take 30 minute scenic drive to Hot Springs for hiking, swimming, and natural spring hot tubs; or take a trip to the quaint town of Marshall. Asheville is easily accessible, about a 25 min drive.
The farm is located in a very remote area just outside of Asheville. You can check out some quintessential mountain towns nearby (Hot Springs & Marshall), or enjoy the bustling city of Asheville, all within a 30- 45 minute drive. There is a great family vineyard located 3 miles from the farm called Addison Farms Vineyard. Hot Springs hosts many AT hikers, campers, & boaters and offers natural hot springs, hiking and pubs. Marshall is home to two of our favorite local spots - Mad Co. Brewing Company & Sweet Monkey Cafe. We provide a host of other recommendations located in the information packet inside the yurt. Feel free to ask us for recommendations for anything you're interested in doing or seeing.
  • We Choose this location as part of our Smokey mountain endeavor. I will say not having a shower or electricity for our camping trip, the Yurt was a sight for sore eyes, and it delivered... We still wanted a private, laid back atmosphere, but still wanted to be outdoors. The location was close enough to Asheville (about 17 minutes) but far enough out to feel remote. The interior was more than what we were expecting, and were thrilled with the amenities that were provided. Especially since I wasn't expecting to have coffee, cooking utensils, spices, plates and other things that made life more comfortable for us. The shower was nice and having the compost toilet, was a first for me, but was not a problem what so ever. We had driven a lot the days prior, so being able to veg to a movie was also a great touch. Even if it is considered a glorified tent, the place extremely clean. As for the exterior, We received a lot of rain and heavy winds during our stay, and the Yurt was extremely durable, and bone dry, and kept us very protected during the elements. There were other amenities outside but we could only use the hot tub, which was epic to relax our bones after one heck of a trip. The scenery to go along with it was fantastic. If I'm ever back that way and in need, I would not hesitate one bit to stay there again.

    Kurtis2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely beautiful place! Was wowed by the vistas and the calming creek right outside the yurt. I originally booked the vacation by myself but my boyfriend was able to join me last minute and the change was no problem. If I had gone by myself I would have felt completely safe and relaxed though. We brought my dog as well, and she loved hanging out with the other three dogs, who were very friendly and sweet. Extremely relaxing getaway in a wonderful spot!

    Murphy2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the scenic getaway and so did our dogs! Great property, cozy yurt, would definitely recommend or stay again!

  • What a great space! Very private, great views, and such a cool little farm. We will be back!

    Casey2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our short two-night stay at the yurt in order to completely unplug (literally! There isn’t even cell service if you have at&t). Our favorite parts were playing with the three awesome dogs (Porter is the best!!), being able to pet Rambo the horse, the sheep, and walk around the beautiful farm. The hot tub was an extra plus!

    Michelle2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a nice and quiet place to get away and unplug. Plenty of snuggles to go around from farm pups. Our pups enjoyed the freedom to roam around. Hot tub was an awesome perk. Convenient drive to Asheville. For those concerned about kitchen appliances there is a hot plate to cook food and also a toaster oven. If you are staying here in the Fall/Winter definitely bring an extra warm blanket. We brought one and it kept us perfectly warm.

    Jonathan2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! My boyfriend and I went there for our anniversary and it was the perfect spot. It’s on a cute farm and the 3 dogs are all so sweet, they were there to greet us every time we came to/left the yurt and were so well behaved! Very private, very quiet. The hot tub was awesome during the cold night for stargazing.

    Isabella2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Abby's place was amazing. A much needed break from the hustle and bustle of life and the farm was a positive addition to the location. Three friendly pups were a wonder to have around to play with ours and the yurt was as comfy as home. Clean and limited to needs, this stay is exactly what one needs to unplug and drop out into your own world. Max patch and Dave's on 209 were great additions to our day away from snoozing around and we would suggest this place to anyone who needs to step away for a bit. Can't wait to come back again!!

This passive solar tiny house has a surprisingly spacious feel for its petite size, with tons of South-facing windows and a winter mountain view.  Located just 4 miles from quaint & artsy downtown Marshall and 20-25 minutes from both Asheville and Hot Springs. Outdoor activities nearby include horseback riding, rafting/paddling the French Broad River, zip-lining, and hiking. Enjoy a peaceful stay in this secluded modern home surrounded by greenery, with every contemporary amenity!
This uniquely custom designed and self-built ultra-modern cabin in the woods has 250 square feet of floor space, plus two spacious sleeping lofts. The lofts are tall enough to stand up in when you first reach the top of the stairs, and then you have to bend down to get into the beds as the ceiling slopes towards the head. There are drapes you can pull across the open fronts of the lofts for more visual privacy and coziness if you like, but no doors or total sound privacy in the sleeping areas. There are two operable windows in each loft that can be used for air circulation on warm days. The ceiling in the middle of the main area slopes from 11 to 14 feet in height so the space feels way more airy and spacious than the measurements would imply! Lofts are carpeted and should only be accessed with bare or socked feet while the main area is entirely tiled, but we still ask you to remove your shoes at the front door to avoid bringing any mud, dirt or gravel inside. The main deck is 8' deep by 24' long so enlarges your available hang-out space by almost 50% in comparison to the house. We hope you will take advantage of our beautiful lush surroundings and enjoy some outdoor time there!
Marshall is a funky, artsy little small town nestled between some pretty sharp hills and the mighty French Broad River.
  • If you're looking for a quiet and relaxing spot, definitely book the Birdhouse! It was very stylish, and very spacious. We had zero problems while there, it was easier to find the house than we thought it would be. The hosts were very kind, and we will definitely be rebooking with them!

    Noah2020-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ron's place feels brand new and is tucked away on a mountain road in the woods. Plenty of windows fill the space with natural light. They really went above and beyond with this house. The weather was perfect so we spent most of the time on the spacious porch. You are surrounded by trees when you're out there but still get a lot of sun during the day. He was also quick to get back to me with any questions. I can't say much for any surrounding areas since we just stayed there the whole time, but if you're looking for a mountain retreat, this is perfect.

    Byron2020-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place in the woods. Clean, modern, comfy and environmentally friendly. Quick response. Love it!

    Sharon2020-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • So lovely! Nice to be in the trees and in peace and quiet. Modern and clean. Lovely people and helpful too.

  • My husband and I loved staying at the Bird’s Nest! It was the perfect spot just outside of town, but close enough where it was easy to get to downtown and go Mars Hill where we were attending a conference. The house was stylishly designed and had all the amenities we needed. The porch has a great view and we loved sitting out there in the evening. We would highly recommend this as a quiet mountain get away!

    Ellen2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience all around. Easy check-in/out. A very clean and enjoyable house about the perfect distance from town.

  • Lovely home with beautiful windows and thoughtful design/layout. Would definitely stay here again!

    Jenna2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house was super cute and functional! It has everything you'd need while staying there and is really quiet and peaceful since it's out in the woods. It's ~20-30 min drive from Asheville. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a more intimate place that's away from the city.

This sweet little cabin is located on 100 acres next to the National Forest surrounded by miles of trails. There is a wonderful hot tub on the front porch overlooking a beautiful mountain stream for you to soak away your stress and renew your spirit. We are fortunate to have a beautiful waterfall that is a short walk from your front door. Our streams are full of fish. We also offer an outdoor fire pit, a propane grill and rocking chairs on the front porch.
This is a little log cabin with a sweet hot tub on the front porch overlooking a trout stream. It is located on 100 private acres and is surrounded by the Pisgah National Forest. It is a short drive up to Max Patch which offers a 360-degree view of paradise. It is also a short hike to the Appalachian trail and we have many loop hikes from your cabin door. We also have a beautiful waterfall and a labyrinth for you to enjoy.
Our cabins are located on the edge of the Pisgah National Forest. We are 13 miles from the small town of Hot Springs, NC and we are about an hour drive from Asheville, NC. We are remote and it is advisable to bring along your groceries and have some gas in your car.
  • This place couldn’t have been better. It was clean and so comfortable. Felt like home away from home. We had everything we needed when we walked in the door. I’ve traveled all over the world and this is now one of my top spots to visit. It was so beautiful and peaceful.

    Eddie2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the cabin and the surrounding property with it's spectacular beauty allowed us to tuck away the "real world" and to just "be". Fantastic hikes directly from the front door of the property, the hot tub awaiting us to soothe tired muscles from the longer ones, the super cute and well-appointed cabin where we could cuddle on the couch for a movie, or just quietly do our own thing...everything was perfect. I would not hesitate for a second in recommending this cabin or Rebecca and Tom as hosts. I hope to return some day.

    Stacey2020-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic! 11/10 recommend to anyone.

    Aaron2020-03-25T00:00:00Z

    Stanley2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is one of the most beautiful ones I have seen. Its a perfect place if you want to have a relaxing and remote vacation. The drive to the cabin is beautiful..very scenic. I would definitely recommend to drive there when there is still light if your not comfortable driving in hilly terrain. Also the host hast multiple cabins near which you can rent out too if you are a big party. She also provides trail maps along the estate ...which are worth trying. The subtle touches of softness in the decor made us feel very comfy. Overall it was a beautiful experience. Thankyou Rebbeca and Tom

GLAMorous Camping-Fiesta Romantic! Snuggle under the stars by the fire in this secluded beautiful spot. You can plug in or ignore for an off the grid experience. Preferable to settle in before dark so we can bellhop your gear, otherwise it is fine to make your own way following solar lights up the hill. We offer catering for a no-fuss stay. There is plenty of private area to set up tents on this site to accommodate additional guests. This is 1 of 4 Mountain Fiesta Airbnb listings.
*Note* Sorry no pets in the yurt unless they are considered as additional guests @$15 per visit. LET YOUR MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE BEGIN! Yurt parking is on the left just after pulling in our driveway at our mailbox next to the metal potting shed. There is room for 2 vehicles there. The yurt is located up the driveway past the barn on the left and the gothic chicken coop and the log sided goat house on the right - on a solar lit footpath up a short steep hill behind our farm house, not accessible by car. Communicating and coordinating your arrival time is important if you would like assistance to the yurt with your gear. *IMPORTANT* If arriving in the evening after dark, we may not be available to assist you to the yurt. Solar lights on the goat fence will mark your path up to the yurt. We will meet you in the morning, as we are early birds. "You can't enjoy the view without the climb." We have windows w/screens to enjoy the view and provide a cross breeze. Snuggle under the stars in front of a romantic fire. Cook for yourself on a charcoal grill or arrange catering for a stay-put no fuss stay. We added electricity for your GLAMping comfort with a fan and space heater, dresser lamp and coffee maker and coffee/creamers OR just ignore it because off the grid seclusion can be just what the doctor ordered....great way to reconnect. There are two small battery powered lanterns in the yurt and tiki torches and solar sticks to light the area outside. 1 headlamp & 2 umbrellas are provided. Our yurt is a Mother Nature lover's getaway, boasting a beautiful view, romantic queen bed, dining table and chairs, candles, skylight, picnic table, grill +lighter fluid (you provide charcoal), firepit, 2 camp chairs, tiki torch. Full moon evenings are amazing here! You can forage for firewood (we have an ax & saw in the metal storage cupboard in the yurt) or buy dry cut wood from us. We have a modern bathhouse/shower in front of the barn right near where you parked, and for your convenience, just outside the yurt, an outhouse is also available. We can have chilly nights here. Even though I feel we have covered the comfy cozy department, if you are cold natured, you might want to come prepared. We have bath towels for you. We do have a water vessel filled with our own spring water in the small yurt frig for drinking. You have access to a refrigerator/freezer in the bar near the parking area. We also have 2 OTHER Mountain Fiesta Glamping listings on Airbnb. Check them out too. Great for a family compound. The yurt is essentially a canvas tent so FYI, if it becomes saturated there could be minor leaking to manage. Do not let that dissuade. We have wifi on the property for your use, but it is not available at the yurt.
Linger long enough to experience “Mountain Time” in little known Spring Creek community, a slice of heaven not to be overlooked. Madison County, “The Jewel of the Blue Ridge,” shines with the Township 8’s little gems of Spring Creek, Bluff, Meadow Fork, Joe, Keenerville, Little Creek, Max Patch, Poplar Gap, Fox Run, Ball City, Betsy’s Gap, Friezeland, Trust & Luck, local areas of reference, from an era gone by, but names still honored today, each adding to the luster of the county jewel. Farmers, some on land that has been dearly held by their family for generations, artists, craftsmen and laborers working hard for an honest day of work, rugged young families living off the land, Conservatives – Liberals, all live here with a common interest to breathe life, here in this amazing slice of Madison County. This is not just a romantic idea . . . . it’s a conscious choice, and a way of life that is cherished, relished and admired. Come get a taste. We think you will be drawn to the creek again and again. From the top of Doggett Mountain, NW of Asheville & The Biltmore Estate and over Betsy’s Gap NE of Waynesville, to just south of Max Patch Bald and Hot Springs, Spring Creek is just over the Tennessee line, near Newport. Already a favorite ride for cyclists and motorcycle enthusiasts, fishermen and hunters, and destined to be a favorite weekend retreat destination for rest, reflection and a reconnect. Leave the city, the familiar, the routine. Remote, yet accessible, tucked and rooted with rich history. Historic Hot Springs is 15 miles from the yurt, a beautiful 30m drive and worth attention with restaurants and the hot springs fed tubs. Of course, downtown Asheville with it's wonders and the famous Biltmore Estate is only 45m away.
  • Words cannot describe how wonderful our stay was with Brenda & Mo! Everything was so clean and talk about a view! Sitting on the bench outside our yurt with a fire going was the perfect way to spend the evening. And the opportunities for an amazing experience do not end there! So much room for exploring and relaxing. We will be back...most likely on multiple occasions. Recommend to anyone adventurous and if that is not for you then definitely try their cabin option!

    Shelby2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • My mom and I had such an adventure on Brenda’s charming and secluded property! First time in a yurt and we had so much fun. The area is beautiful. It was nice to unplug and be able to play cards/games, talk, enjoy the fall leaves and scenic views. The drive up is amazing! I suggest getting anything you may need before climbing the mountain Because it’s definitely up there..which we loved. 1 or 2 little food options nearby but other than that just nature and mountains for miles! We DID freeze haha I mean we kind of knew it would be cold so we brought lots of warm clothes..but just be prepared!!! Brenda provides a small space heater and it helps a bit..she also provides warm bedding and extra blankets but still. Be prepared. It’s glamping but it’s not a hotel room (duh!) and luckily we were fine with that. They were kind enough to drive us up the hill to the yurt but you aren’t so far away that you couldn’t get up and down if needed so that’s nice. Communication was great! The yurt itself is adorable and you can tell Brenda is hospitable and loves this property to death!

    Jordyn2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great time, great space, great company!

    Jamie2019-10-20T00:00:00Z

    Sam2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, exactly what we were looking for (remoteness). Ring your hiking shoes, that hill can be a bit of a climb, so come prepared. Brenda Jane (host) also has an ATV type vehicle so coordinate with her if you are going to need help getting up the hill. Would gladly stay again.

    Michael2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda’s yurt is a one of a kind Airbnb. We seek out unique places to stay and the yurt did not disappoint. The place was very clean and accommodating. Brenda is as nice and kind as hosts come. We’ll definitely recommend the yurt to friends and stay here again if we come through the Asheville area.

    Wells2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views right outside the yurt. Be sure to check out the stars at night. & definitely ask about the homemade pineapple habanero hot sauce made by Chef Mo.

    Jen2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t say enough positive things about our stay! We needed a quiet getaway to rest before a day of hiking and this was absolutely perfect. It is also BEAUTIFUL and the stars are incredible.

A cozy house in the heart of Hot Springs. Walk to town, listen to the river at night, and enjoy the mountain views from the covered front porch. This recently updated home is in a quiet residential neighborhood and just a quick walk away from the shops and restaurants on Spring Street.
There is a TV/DVD combo in the living room with an Amazon Fire Stick to stream your favorite TV shows and movies over the free WIFI. If you'd rather take a break from technology, the backyard fire ring is the perfect place to unwind at the end of the day and the views can't be beat. The full kitchen is equipped with everything needed to prepare meals during your stay.

The yurt is your own little PRIVATE space with comforts of a full kitchen, full bathroom with clawfoot tub, outdoor fire pit and grill, wifi and Netflix, AC and more. Yet from this little cozy spot, you can step outside into 100 acres of fresh air and privacy. Also, due to the coronavirus, we’re taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations.
A yurt is a round structure traditionally used by Asian nomadic peoples, meant to be taken down and moved. This one, however, stays right where it is. Updated with amenities for comfort, we intend for your stay in this yurt to be peaceful and relaxing. The kitchen includes a hot plate, toaster oven, fridge, sink, dishes, pots and pans, and utensils. There is a charcoal grill (charcoal provided), indoor toilet and a claw-foot tub, relaxing seating inside and outside, as well as cozy sleeping for 4. The yurt is situated in the middle of a private 100 acre farm, with no other house for 360 degrees of countryside viewing. We are a small working farm, so you can see the gardens, horses and goats as you explore. There is a double bed fitted with soft organic bedding, as well as a futon mattress in a loft to sleep 1 or a cozy 2 people under the clear dome of the yurt which looks up at the stars.
A very short drive away is the very cute and hip town of Marshall, with artist studios on an island in the river, a coffee shop, 2 bars and 2 restaurants, a grocery store, and more. About 35 minutes away is the thriving city of Asheville. And the surrounding area of Western North Carolina is a perfect setting for all sorts of outdoor activities--hiking, biking, rafting, etc.
  • This place is like a warm hug! Beautiful inside and out. It was extra special waking up and seeing horses outside the window.

  • Absolute perfection. One of the best Airbnbs I have ever stayed in! The yurt was magical, the farm beautiful, and Anna and her family are nice as can be. I can't recommend this stay enough. Thank you, Anna, for everything!!

    Hannah2019-11-23T00:00:00Z

    Chelsea2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing yurt experience - would come back again!

    Jackson2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Although I never got to meet Anna, her thoughtfulness shined through every detail. The pictures don’t do the property justice. If you’re looking for some adventure where you can feed the horses who walk right up to the yurt, and an amazing view of the stars through the yurt’s dome inside, book this place now. We were able to drive to Asheville and explore breweries during the day (about a 30 minute drive). I will remember this trip forever - absolutely lovely.

  • My partner and I decided to take a last minute trip to the mountains this weekend - landing us there much later than we would normally arrive. Sharon was VERY quick to respond and let me know it was okay to arrive late - they were very flexible with that! My favorite part about the space was the back porch! The view of the mountains was unbeatable... especially at such a cheap price! Relax and watch the sunset or star gaze at night... so much sky and such beautiful mountains! Sharon and Gary our privacy but were very clear that they were right next door and only a phone call away if anything was needed. They provided wonderful breakfast options and all of the necessities for a getaway! Upon leaving, I accidently left my pocketbook. Luckily I was only about 30 minutes away when Sharon and Gary realized - but they were willing to not only meet me halfway, but also mail it to me if I was too far gone to come back! THAT is good service and hospitality! We will definitely be back!

    Sarah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

  • AMAZING!!! Sharon’s place is exactly what you need to rest and relax- and you didn’t even know it. Such a sweet homey space with an INCREDIBLE view of the smokies right outside the window. Spacious and they leave so many great travel tips while visiting. If you’re looking for something near Asheville- we spent a day without feeling far from the Jewel. I look forward to visiting North Carolina again, and will definitely book here again.

  • We stayed at the cabin a total of two night. The place was immaculate and incredibly cozy. The area was absolutely beautiful and will definitely consider staying at the cabin again. Highly recommended!

  • Easy drive into town. Good privacy and beautiful winter views. Inside is fashionably appointed. Don’t forget coffee fixings and firewood if you plan to use the Keurig or hang out by the beautiful outdoor fire pit. We’d definitely stay again!

  • Gorgeous place!! Can’t wait to go back!!!

    Leona2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The drive up to cabin was definitely off the beaten path located on a gorgeous mountain hillside with incredible views. I would recommend you drive there with AWD or a 4 X 4 vehicle, however we saw a minivan go up and down the gravel road with no problems. The town of Hot Springs, NC is a small town so don’t expect a lot to do there. The town has a general store, post office, gas station, Dollar General, and a bar from what we could see. We mainly used the cabin as a relaxing place to get away from our busy city lives so it was exactly what we wanted. Me and my wife booked the cabin for 2 nights at the end of February and were so glad for the fireplace and hot tub at the place. The weather was cold and chilly, it even snowed while we were there though only a few inches. We were pleasantly surprised the cabin had a few extra blankets, which we curled up in both nights. We mostly spent our time in Asheville, NC walking downtown, shopping at local stores, and having some DELICIOUS BBQ at Buxton Hall, seriously try that place if you visit Asheville! Our main event was to visit Biltmore which we both really enjoyed. FYI Asheville is about an hour and a half from the cabin! The cabin had all the necessities like shampoo, body wash, hand soap, towels, wash clothes, extra toilet paper, and even a few extra k-cups for the Kurieg! The amenities were all above and beyond as well, from a remote control fireplace, warm hot tub, nearly every kitchen utensil you could think of, a blender, toaster, plenty of pots and pans too! All in all we have no bad things to say about this place, the cleanliness, decoration, and the experience we had there was fantastic, we will definitely keep this property in mind for future plans!

  • It was just as described. Very cost and welcoming.

    Shawna2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The space was immaculately clean and such a peaceful spot. The views from the property are breathtaking! My only issue was the hot tub was drained and cleaned before I arrived (which I greatly appreciated) but was not hot enough to enjoy until the next morning. It was supposed to be at 104 degrees and at 11 pm that evening it had only just reached 100 degrees. The owners gave me a portion of my money back since I did not get two full nights of using the hot tub and said that they are getting a new hot tub next month. I just wish that would have been communicated ahead of time because I almost only stayed one night and would have been very disappointed to not be able to use the tub.

    Becca2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The place was close to downtown and close to other cabins but still felt secluded and quiet. It was a great early Valentine’s Day gift for my wife. It was clean, and there was no clutter. The hot tub was already running and warm when we got there. A perfect, peaceful getaway.

WHATS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW ON THE FARM AT MOUNTAIN HARVEST ORGANICS: WHATS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW ON THE FARM AT MOUNTAIN HARVEST ORGANICS: COVID-19 Preparations: The farm is an excellent place for social distancing because of our isolation and our food production! Not only are we doing our normal deep cleaning, we've also implemented a disinfectant process in compliance with the CDC recommendations for dealing with the COVID-19. THE FARM IS PREPARING FOR SUMMER PLANTINGS: We are getting the fields ready for the summer crops like squash, sweet corn, peppers and basil! What's In Season: Right now we have Spring Greens such as kale, swiss chard and bok choy. We also have an early crop of cucumbers and zucchini! If you've booked a couple nights with us, you might just find your refrigerator stocked with some farm fresh goodness!!! PROMOTIONS For Guests who book 2 or more nights: We offer complimentary seasonal farm fresh goodies. In addition, we offer a guided tour of the farm. You will be required to wear a face mask and practice physical distancing while touring the farm. THE THISTLE GLAMPING SITE - All children under 12 years of age stay FREE! Airbnb does not provide a means for us to specify these requirements during check-out. When booking a stay for this accommodation, only include those over 12 years of age as the number of guests. This bed is comfortable for 2 adults. - 1 Bathroom with a flush toilet, hot and cold water for a shower should you want to rinse off. - A comfortable couch: Perfect for relaxing on during inclement weather or after a long day of hiking. This can be made into a twin short bed for a third guest, that is best suited for a child. Please know, when made into a bed, it is only 5'7" long!!!! - Outdoor table and chairs for enjoying an adult beverage while taking in the beautiful mountain views - Outdoor grill for those who want to grill a meal. We the farmers grill most of our summer meals rather than heating up our house!!! Grilling transforms any veggie or meat into deliciousness! - Fire Pit, complimentary firewood and chairs for enjoying a fire after the sun sets. - An indoor dining table just in case you prefer to eat indoors. THE FARM EXPERIENCE The farm is perfect for children because they have fun checking out the tadpoles, petting the horse or cow, and walking through the crops examining all the different types of produce that is growing at any given time; however, for your child's safety on the farm, you will want to be with them at all times while they are exploring. Children who visit the farm tend to get dirty so you may want to bring extra clothing for them!!! We grow over 250 different cultivars of row crops, so it is always fun to walk through the greenhouses or fields, sampling on the various things growing at any given time throughout the season. You might find yourself plucking a cherry tomato off the vine, or snap a bean off the plant, maybe unearth a radish or carrot. If you're lucky to be staying on the farm when sweet corn is ripening, you will be rewarded with the experience of indulging in fresh corn eaten right off the cob in the field, which is a treat unlike no other! We also include wildflower, butterfly and tree field guide books for those who are interested in the challenge of identifying some of our unique biodiversity while hiking the farm trails or wandering the farm fields. We have several short, fairly easy trails through the farm that can be easily enjoyed by both the young and old. The Hot Springs area has plenty of more strenuous hiking trails for those who want to challenge themselves to that type of hiking experience. Meadow Fork Creek meanders through the farm which is the perfect place for children, accompanied by adults, to play. The water is of excellent quality, so a few times each year, the forest service stock trout in the creek right from the bridge on the farm. The creek is great for those wanting to do a little fishing during their farm stay. You will find clear (frequently, when the clouds allow) night skies for evenings spent outside star gazing while hanging out around a fire ring. The farmers are more than happy to provide you with a guided farm tour, so just let them know if you'd like them to set aside time for that. They can let you visit with the cows and the pet horse. If you plan on walking around the farm, please be sure to bring shoes you don't mind dirtying. We wear muck boots when doing livestock chores and harvesting. We wear leather boots when working on projects or out in the fields. ABOUT THE GLAMPER We've set this up on a remote and private site on the farm. Some people think that the roads to and from the site is a long driveway, but that is why it is so private!!!
We are a 20 minute drive from Hot Springs which has restaurants, shops, and activities that are sure to keep you entertained. If you like the water, you may consider booking a rafting trip for an incredible experience on our wild rivers. We are a 20 minute drive to Max Patch, over which the Appalachian Trail crosses, that has been nominated as one of the top scenic sites in all of Western North Carolina. Mountain Harvest Organics is a 130 acre production organic farm. The farm backs up to the Pisgah National Forest, so there is plenty of forested area, along with bottom land that is used for row crop production. While we regularly mow, clean, and maintain our rental sites, the farm itself is geared toward food production. We love to share the food-growing process with guests, but it is not a manicured and perfectly organized environment! Pollinators and beneficial insects, like bumblebees and butterflies, thrive in un-mowed areas, of which we have many. There is mud after it rains, stacks of seed-starting trays for our little plants in the spring and surfaces in our production areas that regularly see dirt and soil instead of toxic cleaners and Clorox wipes! Please do not expect a farm like you may see in the movies. That being said, we welcome you to come enjoy the beauty and imperfections of living on a REAL farm! Our driveway is not paved, but is accessible with 2 wheel drive vehicles or motorcycles, so please know that your car may get dirty when visiting the farm. We are an hours drive from the Biltmore Estate, Great Smokey Mountain National Park, Cataloochee, Asheville, Waynesville, Maggie Valley or Weaverville. We are a hour and a half from Pigeon Forge, Dollywood and Cades Cove. We are only a few hours from Charlotte and Atlanta and a half days drive from Charleston and Raleigh. So escape to the beautiful mountains and stay with us! Getting around The farm is not accessible by public transportation as we are in a remote location. Also, being in a remote area, cell phone coverage can be spotty and varies by carrier so just know your phone may not work in our area.  We do not have TV or extensive Wi-Fi, so the farm is a AWESOME opportunity for those hoping to have a somewhat unplugged experience.
  • Julie and Carl were more than accommodating and provided amazing hospitality. The attention to detail and timely responsiveness made our stay that much more enjoyable. Perfect little getaway, wished we could’ve stayed longer!

  • If you want a secluded getaway in the woods with a hot tub, this is your jam right here. Julie & Carl are awesome and so are their dogs, they do an excellent job of making you feel at home. If we didn’t have to rush back home we prob would’ve stayed another day or two. We will definitely return!

  • Soooo amazing!!! Loved the welcoming team who came with us up the driveway (sweet big puppy love!) The privacy, the fresh air, the fresh veggies, the grill, everything was exceptional. We got some local coffee and brought a french press and had the most amazing breakfasts. The first night it rained and we sat under the little porch overhang and drank mimosas, and listened to it through the night with the windows open, the second night the sky was so clear, I’ve never seen so many stars. So incredible. Thank you guys so much!!

    Sadie2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Julie was so hospitable and warm! Meeting her was a delight and she made me feel so welcome. I loved having such a secluded campsite. It’s a nice change from camping in a park with other campers all around you. Julie left a detailed written guide about local hikes and restaurants. We went to Max Patch Bald for sunrise and it was absolutely incredible. I’m not a morning person, so I was really grateful it only took 26 minutes to drive to Max Patch Bald. It was the closest hike we went on. The highlights of the trip were meeting the dogs, hot tubbing, and Max Patch Bald, and The Chimneys at Lincoln Gorge Wilderness, so 3/4 of those were provided by Julie. We went out and hiked all day every day, but we could have just stayed at the camper and had a great time. We ate most of our meals out, but our grilled veggies at the camper were our favorite by far. I definitely want to come back!

  • Beautiful private location for glamping. The night sky is perfect for star gazing. Carla and Julie are exceptional hosts!

  • Our stay here at the Thistle was absolutely amazing. Unplugging from technology and relaxing under the stars was exactly what I wanted for this trip. Julie was an amazing host. Our directions were spot on, the camper was clean with everything you would need for your stay, private, beautiful scenery, and the tour of Julie and Carl's farm was the cherry on top. I absolutely recommend staying here. We will be coming back with our daughters soon just to show them how beautiful this place was!

  • This is hands down my favorite place to stay in Hot Springs. Very private and clean. The veggies and beef they stock in the fridge is fabulous. And they always have wood for you to use in the fire pit.

A newly built insulated 10ftx10ft treehouse all wood construction. Many operable windows. Entry point is on the high end of the hill onto a deck that looks over a running creek. There is a small refrigerator and lights. Cook outside on gas grill. No running water but there's a drinking water dispenser inside. Rainwater is collected for cleaning up. The outhouse and primitive shower is 50ft away. Climb a ladder to the sleeping loft which is comfortable enough to stand up in.
The outhouse is a primitive compositing toilet system and the shower is gravity fed from holding tank pumped with well water. The hot water is a solar heated 30 gallon tank mounted in an insulated box on top of the outhouse. The treehouse experience is a good place for conscious environmentally friendly people.
Snowbird road is a state maintained gravel no outlet road where guests can enjoy a walk.
  • Beth’s place was such a treasure! We loved the sound of the creek and the birds outside our window. Cooking was easy! We loved her records and even got first dibs on her brick oven baked breads before she went to market! Lovely stay

  • Great place for peace and quiet. Tree house is super cute.

    Ana2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beth's place is the most peaceful and beautiful one I've ever stayed in. The house is cozy and has everything we needed; comfy gallery bad, small kitchen, and grill and cooking stove at the deck. The deck is perfect for coffee or just relaxing, with the sound of the small stream flowing next to it. Beth welcomed us so nicely, and although we stayed there in late fall, when the temperature outside dropped down, Beth kept us warm with good heating and warm blankets. It is a perfect place for nature lovers, to relax alone, or with another person. I wish I could stay in this place for longer time and I would definitely love to go again.

  • The Chickadee Cottage is the perfect space for two and steps away from the Appalachian Trail. Natalie is a thoughtful host with clear and quick communication, and a dedication to cleanliness and hygiene - the cabin was sparkling. She took impressive extra care to clean in response to COVID-19. We arrived early and relaxed on the porch while she prepped the cabin, so we observed first hand the technique and thoroughness of her cleaning method and commitment to social distancing. The cottage is comfortable, cozy and efficient - exactly as described. Note, the kitchen does not have an oven, but has everything else you need to make simple meals. Hiker friendly. Highly recommend this place.

It boasts a stone wood-burning fireplace and a loft bedroom with Virginia Red Oak hardwood floors, French doors that open onto a private deck and a wonderful private outdoor hot tub on the covered side porch. It also includes tiled kitchen counters, tiled bathroom floors, a full size oven, microwave and coffee maker. Loft bedroom is only accessed by the ladder as shown in the photos.
Truly unplug- no Internet or cell service at our cabin, so you can actually, truly and completely relax for the first time since you got that cell phone... soak in the private outdoor hot tub, rock in a rocking chair and walk in the woods.
The sound of the creek, the silence of the forest and the pace of the rocking chairs.
  • Charming and peaceful, Craig's cabin is the perfect place to get away. We loved the private hot tub, indoor fire place, & upstairs deck.

  • My husband and I stayed in the Evergreen Cabin for your anniversary. It was perfect! The space is small, quaint, and has everything you need! Having firewood available on site was a nice touch. Being off the grid was such a welcome change for us (there is a landline just in case). The hot tub was clean and secluded and we enjoyed it throughout our stay! We were even greeted by a doe and 2 baby deer one morning while we were sipping our coffee. The bed was very comfortable! We loved relaxing in the loft and watching the leaves fall from the trees with the balcony door open. We ventured up the road into Hot Springs and stumbled on a gourmet grocery store. We got grass fed flank steak, wine, beer, spices, and snacks (highly recommend the smoked oysters!) They also served food and the owner was as friendly as they come. We did not want to leave and will definitely be back. Thank you Craig for all your hospitality!

    Elizabeth2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was fantastic! Off the grid. Rustic. Cozy. Hot tub. Fireplace. Nature. Perfect.

  • Peace and quiet, charming cottage!

  • This was a birthday present for my boyfriend and it was money well spent! It has a perfect cabin vibe and you really feel like it’s just the two of you. The kitchen has everything you need to make home cooked meals and it was fun to climb the ladder up to the bedroom. You’re really only about 20 miles or so from Waynesville if you need anything. Overall I would definitely recommend!

Enjoy this cozy one bedroom, one bath home with a detached studio on property overlooking the roaring creek, peaceful hang out area to enjoy with your dear ones. There is a comfortable sofa bed in the living room, spacious enough for overflow guests and children. Has a laundry area, and a fully remodeled bathroom with walk-in shower. Charcoal Grill and picnic table available. #yonashousetn

  • Very stylish, great layout. Clean as can be and we loved the detached studio overlooking the creek. Not 100% private, but very close. Recommend visiting Hot Springs and hiking Lovers Leap Trail while you're here! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

  • We loved visiting this cozy cabin! The location was beautiful, also, but the cabin is so stylishly decorated and comfortable, that you could easily spend all of your time relaxing indoors. We explored the creek area and were delighted to find an abundance of spring wildflowers popping up. Listening to the sounds of the burbling water from the studio location was utter tranquillity!

  • Great getaway place....beautiful setting....relaxing space

    Michael2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience here was splendid :) Though we stayed through a couple snow storms and chilly weather, Maria provided an abundance of heaters, and we had the fireplace for added warmth as well. Her contemporary touches and decor really amplified the ambiance of the cabin, and for someone who’s had spinal surgery like myself, I found the bed to be very comfortable and cozy! My personal favorite thing, however, was the studio that had ample 360deg sunlight for a day of peaceful reading. And since it was strategically built next to a running creek, you can enjoy the sounds of nature while relaxing :) The only minor downside was the cabin’s distance from the Smoky Mtn National Park, but that was expected for the level of privacy and seclusion from the outside world my boyfriend and I wanted. Definitely would recommend for anyone interested in a well-balanced vacation!

Very quiet and Spacious Studio tucked in the woods. Very Shady retreat near Meadowfork Creek. Really close to Match Patch and AT which just a 20 minute drive. There you can tap into AT at Max Patch. A Must see destination.
Affordable, Quiet, and an awesome Host that will make your stay enjoyable and stress free.
Although this is a very quiet get away, you will traffic from the street from time to time, but the creek drowns it out a lot. There are homes tucked in and around this property but not right next to this place. Friendly people, and very watchful of the community.
  • Loved our stay here!

  • Bill met us when we arrived to make sure we didn’t need anything. Place was quaint, homelike and beautiful. The view was outstanding and worth the $$. Had a beautiful creek and outdoor space to explore and escape our demanding lives. Definitely a place we would return to.

  • The setting of the cabin is just beautiful. Mornings spent in quiet solitude down by the river's edge, listening to only the birds and rushing water. Lovely. The cabin has everything you need for your stay, and is quite clean. The porch, the fireplace, the rushing river, the mountain back-drop, who could ask for more? There was plenty of outdoor activities for us in the surrounding area, so we spent most of our time enjoying the fresh mountain air. Loved our stay!

  • We came as a last minute stayed and we are so happy we found Bill’s place. We came with our 4 and 1 year old and was nervous about not being kid friendly, and oh boy it is more than kid friendly, we had the greatest time and our girls loved it, the creek, the hammock the rolling down hills, the fire pit was so much fun, we definitely created beautiful memories here. We would love to be back. The cabin and feel is so peaceful and so worth it. Happy to report that we left wanting to stay more days. Thank you

Perched up high in the bank of trout-stocked Spring Creek, directly on Fowler's Bend (an almost 90 degree bend in the creek) sits this fully-restored home built in 1900. This one bedroom and bathroom is RUSTIC and SIMPLE with one dedicated PARKING spot. Exposed BRICK walls greet you in both the bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom is shower only, but the water is hot. This is a great place for anyone looking for a base for an outdoor adventure or anyone looking to RECONNECT with NATURE.
Originally used as the local General Store, this property is now 3 units. The HIDE AWAY is a sweet little corner, second level unit in the back, but with direct access to the road. Sit on your porch to hear the RUSHING WATERS of a 20-30 foot wide creek and soak in the crisp mountain air. Across the road and up a steep bank sits almost 7,500 acres of Pisgah NATIONAL FOREST. The Appalachian Trail is 200 feet as the crow flies, but best navigated by the paved roads. What I love best about this little nook is the proximity to town, mineral springs, the Appalachian Trail, rafting and more! The sounds of the creek heard from the front porch help create a white noise for the soundtrack of your stay. Nature helps soothe any kinks you may have packed in with you, so that when you leave, you can feel more vibrant and centered within yourself. Let these old mountains and this incredible creek cradle you and lull you back into a relaxing state, or help get you refocus your energy for an existing or future project. For those who love to hike or walk (or who want to avoid trying to find parking in the small town of Hot Springs) in 10 minutes you can be at the Appalachian Trailhead or in the Town of Hot Springs to dine or shop, tube, etc. and in approx. 15-20 minute you can be soaking in your own reserved tub at the hot mineral springs (or about a 2-3 minute drive). Enjoy the pitch black nights, filled with incredible stars. Whether coming for a peaceful retreat, the restorative mineral springs or for an outdoor adventure extravaganza, the HIDE AWAY at Fowler's Bend serves as a solid base for all your endeavors. Come Retreat Within!
The neighborhood is filled with great neighbors, an intriguing history, an abundance of water and backs up to 7,500 acres of Pisgah National Forest yet is walking distance to the town of Hot Springs.
  • This is a very small and quaint room. Very smartly done considering the space. There was not a microwave or toaster oven to use only a coffee pot. Only spoons, no forks/knives - which may not be important but with restaurants not open - it was :) The refrigerator was small but sufficient. Bathroom was cute and we did have access to an amazing balcony that overlooked the river but it was not private, fyi. We could sit outside of our room and hear the river :) The location was amazing! LOVED it! The sound of the river was incredible and the weather was perfect :) I love the history of the home being created from an old general store (read the binder of info!). Hostess fantastic! Great communicator

  • We had a great stay at Monisha's property which was the perfect place for our little Christmas celebration. The place is small but has everything you need and is nicely decorated. Ideal location walking distance from the center of Hot Springs and next to a small river. Sitting on the terrace listening to the sound of water is so relaxing after a long day of hiking. Monisha's advices about dining/activities in the area are spot on, highly recommended!
