The Cottage is located on the Singing Waters Farm. The cottage is private and peaceful in a remote location, yet is easily accessible and located merely 1 mile off of Hwy 421. This location is a great home base for exploring the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains including the Boone/Blowing Rock area (25-35 mins), N. Wilkesboro (15 mins) and also Yadkin Valley wineries. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is less than 15 minutes away. Singing Waters is a small, working farm nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge, and is named after the beautiful creek that runs through the property, which can be heard from the cottage deck. A wide range of seasonal produce, including regional favorites, heirloom varieties, and all of the staples for keeping a seasonal table are grown here. Free range, happy, healthy chickens supply all of the eggs used in the Singing Waters Bakery. All of the baked goods produced by the Singing Waters Bakery are home-made in the truest sense, baked in the on-site farm kitchen.
  • We stayed at Renee’s cottage for a weekend to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. It was a great location to check out West Jefferson and Boone, very close to the parkway and easy to find. We had breakfast provided by Renee both mornings and i highly recommend it! Her scones were delicious and it was so convenient to have it brought right to the door. She was accommodating and quick to answer questions and provide help. The cottage was as described, very clean and homey. Thanks for a great stay!

  • Such a cute cottage! We enjoyed Renee’s hospitality! My husband and I wanted a getaway that would give us solitude and a chance to recharge after the holidays. Renee’s cottage was perfect! We enjoyed watching the chickens and exploring the property. Renee made us breakfast one morning and it was amazing! Highly recommend!

  • This place is a perfect get away! Pictures cannot do it justice.

  • This Airbnb is peaceful. Great for a getaway. She made sure we were well taken care of and she was nice and pleasant. Her homemade breakfast is amazing. BEST HOST EVER. Whenever we had any issues she was quick to asses it and get it taken care of. Ps. The homegrown/homemade jelly is also great.

  • The cutest little cottage! Delicious breakfast. Renee was a great host!

  • Renee is a great host. The cabin has special touches that make it special but not too much. Very very quiet. Bed was great pillow top. Stayed three days and got a great breakfast also. Easy to Boone or anywhere from main roads. Clean. Quiet. Safe. Old fashioned but all new.

Very private and quiet cottage in the trees yet only about a mile from the heart of town. Updated with new stainless steel appliances. Queen bed. Big screen tv with streaming services. Easy hop to Blue Ridge Parkway, wineries and Boone. Less than 4 miles and 8 minutes to Wilkes Community College. Watch wildlife from the private rear deck or walk the 2.6 acres of grounds, part wooded and part landscaped gardens. The cottage is closer to the neighboring farm than it is to the main house.
Front covered porch and back deck allow interaction with the outdoors. Deer can be seen just outside the property fence and many different birds live on the property: hawks can be seen and owls heard. The cottage is cozy, perfect for two. There is a living area, bedroom, bathroom with shower and a table for two in the kitchen area. The laundry room is downstairs in the basement, accessible from outside steps or stairs.
A very quiet residential neighborhood borders the property on one side with a creek below us on a farm. The farmer has given permission to walk the farm road along the creek. In fact, the cottage is closer to the farm than to the main house. The cottage is not visible from the street and barely visible from the main residence. Despite the privacy, we are quite close to shopping and restaurants in downtown Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro.
  • Private quiet, and wonderful cottage.

  • Cute place, great location.

    Carly2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was adorable. The space was clean and it was in a beautiful and private setting. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host was very responsive and gave great directions and instructions on how to access the cottage. It was close to downtown Wilkesboro. Traveling back and forth was a breeze. I would definitely stay here again.

    Susan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was sparkling clean and had everything we could ask for. We enjoyed the big TV and Netflix. Dooley's was super close and had really good burgers. Hope to be back often.

    Dawn2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is a lovely setting, quiet and private, and the front porch and back deck are both perfect for a morning coffee or afternoon glass of wine.

    William2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute place! Quiet, clean, fully stocked kitchen... We traveled to NC to go climbing at Stone Mountain, and Jefferson and Deborah's place was perfect for what we needed. Maybe a half hour drive from the park. Would definitely stay there again!

Secluded in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains on an old dirt road....you will find tranquility. Private entrance on a working farm. Tucked away from the bustle but close enough to wonderful dining, the Yadkin Valley Wine Country and the Mountain to Sea Trail. 10 miles from Elkin or Wilkesboro. 6 vineyards within 5 miles of this central location. A perfect stay for the Wine Festival or Merle Fest or a weekend of wine tasting. Barn available for lodging if needed.
  • What a awesome little barn. So cute and clean. Will definitely be back

    Janet2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at Jennifer's place. She was a very communicative host, and even let us bottle feed two baby lambs! The space was clean and comfortable, with everything you need and nothing you don't. Clean modern bathroom, comfortable and supportive bed, strong wifi. Bring slippers or socks in winter, the floor that's not covered in rugs can be cold. The highlight was relaxing surrounded by cute and peaceful farm animals - lambs on one side, Olivia the pig on the other, and four farm dogs running around. Perfect spot close by to more than a dozen wineries. We would definitely stay again!

    Emily2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing and unique Airbnb. So glad we decided to stay here rather than just a plan hotel room. We appreciated the decor of the entire farm house and really felt at home here. The place was also sparkling clean! Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

    Peter2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a “must stay” location! The pastoral setting and cozy, clean cabin makes for a perfect decompression environment. The lambs are in a field right beside the cabin and cattle are nearby. Good restaurants are a short drive away. You will not regret booking this Airbnb!

    Billie2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay! Close to a few great vineyards. Perfect for a girls trip to the area! Would definitely stay here again!

    Lauren2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint farmhouse lodging with well-appointed interior. We really enjoyed our stay, the inside was simple and well thought-out with a large comfortable bed and a smaller extra bed (we did not use). It was fun to be around the farm animals (pig, cows, sheep, cats and dogs) who were not obnoxious but were nearby to explore and enjoy. We woke up to watch the sunrise and enjoyed the rustic-chic accommodations. Was the perfect retreat from the local wineries.

    Chris2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place was incredible. Right in the middle of the farm with all the animals so close. We normally try to pack our days with things to do when on vacation, but because this place was so great, we spent a lot of time relaxing and hanging out here. Extremely clean & comfortable and would definitely stay again.

    Alex2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer was wonderful at communication & made sure that I didn’t have any issues with checking into the Airbnb. The views at this location are spectacular. The room was spotless & had amazing amenities. Jennifer even let me & my significant other pet the lamb on the farm. As soon as you arrive to the Airbnb, you’ll receive a warm welcome from a friendly pig lol. The experience was truly amazing & I am grateful for Jennifer’s wonderful hospitality. I strongly recommend booking here. I will definitely book here again in the future without a doubt.

Newly renovated, cozy and quirky, our tiny house is the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. Our property, a remote location far from the hustle and bustle of city life, is a beautiful valley surrounded by forest. Being movie set builders left us with a lot of set parts, so we incorporated them into this little gem...separate from main house, private deck, full kitchen, AC, record player and huge record selection, hiking trails, swimming pond, zip line, yoga, art installations and more...
First of all, we live VERY remote...the next town is a 25 minute car ride away! The last 3 miles are gravel road and a steep driveway (we have a low rider scion and have had never problems). The property and the tiny house are really surrounded by woods, woods, woods.... The tiny house acommodates 2 adults. We live on 65 acres and adjoin a state forest, have a one acre swimming pond with zipline, a trampoline in the woods and a slackline. there is also a helicopter on the roof next to the cabin in which you can hang out and dream about your next flight far away.....there are meandering hiking trails through the woods, and plenty of nooks and crannies throughout the property to provide you with adventure, fun, relaxation, and inspiration. We also have a yoga studio on the property which is open to everybody. Henry is a certified yoga and acro yoga instructor and is available to give private lessons for singles, couples, and small groups ($35 per 1 1/2 hr session). Bedding includes pillows, linens, and blankets, and towels will be provided. The toilet is a compost toilet! Very user friendly, eco-friendly, and not as scary as it sounds. The compost toilet is cleaned completely after each guest stay and has no 'ick' factor!! We also like to note that we support and love to host members of the LGBT community and Black Lives Matter!!
The neighborhood is woods, woods, woods...Nearby attractions include: Blue Ridge Parkway (20 min drive from tiny house), the little town of Wilkesboro--home of the "Merlefest" in April and "Applefest" in August (30 min drive), West Jefferson and Mt. Jefferson just up the mountain, the town of Boone and hometown of Appalachian State University, and Blowing Rock, home of the Tweetsie railroad. All four towns are nice small towns for strolling, shopping for very good local arts and crafts and just hanging out...
  • Henry and Judith have a beautiful place! The pictures online don’t do it justice! They grounds have exquisite art installations that provide fun entertainment as well as relaxation. I highly recommend this airbnb! Some cool things you may find here are a helicopter, dragon, dinosaur egg, roman bath, and zen garden!

    Alexis2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is totally magical! It’s very remote, but it’s easily the best bnb my girlfriend and I have ever stayed in. The tiny house is wonderfully charming, and the surrounding property is gorgeous. If you’re looking for a relaxed and remote getaway in the blue ridge mountains, I couldn’t recommend anything better.

    Henry2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely one of the coolest places I have ever stayed!! 10/10 would go back again

    Kalee2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • A really beautiful place with great hosts. I especially liked the miles of hiking trails through the woods that start directly on the property.

    Jedidiah2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was a completely magical, and amazing space to unwind in for a week absolutely loved it! We loved it and would recommend to anyone who needs a serene place to unwind.

    Chantel2019-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a one of a kind magical place where you go to connect with art, nature, and your inner child. Judith, Henry, and the furbabies are the best host and it shows how much love and effort they put into their masterpiece! The tiny house is clean and has everything you need. You can pack light only bringing clothes and grub. They truly have thought of everything to help you work less and play more. Inspiration sings in every nook and cranny! Closest town is conviently 20-30 mins away if you're in need of a store. Acces to Blue Ridge Parkway is close as well. There is so much adventure throughout the valley your inner child will be heart broken when it's time to leave. So, go breathe in the fresh air and get some clean water at Peaceful Valley, you won't regret it!

    Sharee2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • The space was perfect for me. From the fully stocked kitchen where I prepared my meals, to the dining table that faced the window where I had the vista of Henry and Judith's gorgeous piece of nature and the birds that alighted on the stump on the deck. The singing of birds every morning was incredible. The bedroom is an underwater paradise with an octopus ceiling mural, a turtle mosaic, paper mache fish dangling from the ceiling. I found myself contantly staring at the Cousteau-like photograph on the night table. Yes, this was my teenage dream bedroom realized! The details in the tiny house are unbelievable. There is a wood stump outside with a variety of heart-shaped stones on it. Also a shrine for icons like the ones I used to see when hiking the mountains in Austria, but instead of saints, it's full of mini dog figurines. So much modern art, it just turns on your brain! And all of this came out of the minds of my amazing hosts! Besides brilliant, they are so friendly and considerate! They just as easily welcomed me into their home as respected my privacy when I needed it. It's not often that you meet balanced people: artistic and intelligent, but also down-to-earth and humble. They are conscientious in everything they do: the care of their guests, the love for their sweet dogs, the maintenance of their home and land. I still don't understand how they do it all. And on top of all this, they've added form to every function: their house is a work of art. Their sculpture garden is a melding of futurism and mysticism that belongs in the museum section of tourism books. If nothing else, you have to go for a hike just to see the art installations they've planted throughout the mountains: the dragon snaking the bottom of the valley! I would come back here in a heart beat... and I plan to.

  • Wonderful experience. A very pleasant stay. We felt very comfortable in their home. Nancy and Johnathan were exceptional hosts. A lovely soaker rub with mineral salts and amenities available in the bathroom. Johnathon cooked up a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs and sausage, toast, organic preserves and coffee and juice. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious. Close to downtown and very conveniently located. We would definitely stay there again.

Our place is at 2,500' elevation, ceiling fans to keep you cool. For winter, central heat or a fireplace keeps you snug and warm. It is so quiet you can hear wild turkeys crossing the driveway. It is close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, New River, the Wilkesboros, West Jefferson, Boone (30 min.), Virginia Creeper Trail (1 hr.), W. Kerr Scott Lake (16 miles with great mountain biking). We think you will enjoy the coziness and mountain views. Our place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
The bedroom looks out into a leafy space. Quiet sitting on the deck reveals bird sounds and sometimes wild turkey, deer or foxes. Rarely, a shy black bear makes an appearance in the blackberry thatches that line the roadway. At twilight you sometimes see a bat or two chasing bugs. A dark night showcases lightening bugs and millions of stars. It is nature alive, but only a fifteen minute drive to Coffee House, Food Lion and Bojangles Chicken.
We are only two miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway with hiking on the Mountain to Sea trail. We are about 20 minutes to the New River for canoeing or tubing. Other water sports are available at W.Kerr Scott Lake, which has several parks, boat and kayak launching.
  • This was my second stay at the cabin and of all the AirBNBs I’ve stayed in, this one is always my favorite. Jerre and Madeline are so sweet and the cabin is always clean and quiet, homey and comfortable. Can’t wait to come back in the spring!

  • The cabin is quiet, clean with amazing views and sounds. It was a perfect retreat with great hosts. I highly recommend it.

  • This place is very clean and very peaceful

    Michelle2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jerre’s cabin was great to stay in for the weekend. It is cozy and the views from the deck are amazing. The weather was great while we were there, and even though it rained for a little bit we could still be outside due to the covered deck.

    Alaina2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay! Our hosts simply could not have been more hospitable or done a nicer job on this gorgeous cabin. We are most definitely making this a semi-regular vacation retreat!

    Laurie2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful time staying here. Madeline and Jerre were so kind and helpful, and their cabin is top notch! I arrived a little late and they were outside waiting for me when I pulled up. They told me all I needed to know about my stay there and were very helpful with my travel interests. The cabin is immaculate and includes many amenities; so don't worry if you forget some of your supplies. They probably have you covered. The view from the cabin is so nice and a joy to wake up to in the morning. The stars at night were incredible; I stayed up for hours stargazing. The location is great too. It's about 15 minutes away from the grocery store and gas station, and very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. You'll enjoy driving all around the area. Over all I'd highly recommend this cabin, but don't stay too long because I want to come back!

    Drew2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay and lovely cabin, exceeded our expectations with all the extras and would definitely visit again.

    Michael2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a real gem of a place for a couple travelling to the Glendale Springs or the High County area of NC. Unlike most AirBnB ads, the pictures do NOT overstate the comfort of this cabin. We were greeted by our host, Madeline, who introduced us to the many amenities, including a well provisioned breakfast set up and a private outdoor shower (which we strongly recommend). She is the best AirBnB host we've every interacted with! While there is no air conditioning, there's plenty of fans and A/C is usually not needed at this altitude. My wife and I have stayed at several AirBnBs, and this was one of our best experiences. (Ok, so you've decided to book: Here's a suggestion if you have a smaller car -- like an Prius. You may want to stop, halfway down the driveway, and park in the shelter to the right. While I was able to manuever my Prius up the full driveway, it may be a challenge for others in damp conditions or if your tire tread is lacking ... this should not be a deterrent for renting, the "optional" shelter is only a few feet up the driveway.)

The cozy cottage is located in the country side just off 421 on Boone trail, along the Lewis Fork Creek, in Wilkes county. Located in the foothills of the Blue ridge mountains. The cozy cottage has been in our family for three generations. We live just out of sight on up the drive. You can enjoy your privacy but if you need anything we are near by. We look forward to meeting you upon your arrival !
We like to also have a special treat upon your arrival for you to enjoy, which changes from time to time
Peaceful country setting, Beautiful in all seasons. Nearby the gorgeous Blue Ridge Parkway. Boone & Blowing Rock, great for shopping. On up the road is Grandfather Mountain with it's mile high swinging bridge which is very scenic. We have the Apple Festival the first weekend in October. Always fun with lots of crafts to see. Music to listen too and unique things to buy. Lots of food. In April we have the world famous MerleFest ! Nearby lake if you like to fish or do water sports. Also at certain times of the year we have outdoor dramas.
  • Our second time here! We needed a place to stay for a month while we were waiting to get into our apartment and liked it here so much the first time, we came back! We had everything we needed and it was a wonderful, cozy stay! We would certainly come back if we ever needed!

    Samantha2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! This is the best AirBnB experience I have ever had! Never have I ever had a host who was so thoughtful. I appreciated the small touches! We had snacks and drinks upon our arrival and she checked in to make sure everything was okay! The space was so clean and cozy. I will most certainly be back. What a wonderful find!

  • This is a great little cottage with privacy, peace and quiet, and a feel-good atmosphere, all for a very reasonable price.

    Meggan2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Connie made me feel at home and very welcomed. Staying in Connie's Cottage was real a delight. The atmosphere is perfect -- it is cozy and inviting with tasteful decor. If you need a place to get away from it all, this is a place to relax. The cottage is tucked away from city life in the foothills. During late evenings, you can faintly see the milky way and many stars, hear the night wildlife, smell the forest trees, and hear the river as you sit on the porch. Very peaceful. I would come back. A note: There are two white cottages with green shutters in the area. My GPS took me directly to the 1st one. Ignore it. Drive a little further up the road and you will see a sign and decor around Connie's Cottage.

    Donniece2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy Cottage was a quiet, serene place to relax. Enjoyed the comfort and thoughtfulness that Connie put into the furnishings and decor. Would definately stay in this home away from home again.

Welcome to our Moonshine Mini-Mansion. The home is on 8 acres in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina and has just the right amount of every season. Only 30 miles to Boone and 6 miles to Merlefest! The entire home has been recently refurbished with all new finishes, new paint, soft close cabinets, and new flooring. This is a cozy house, and it is on land aka 'in the sticks.' Due to it being out in the country, you may see a bug or two!
The house is 1 BR, 1 BA, but does have 2 queen memory foam sleeper sofas in the den. The bedroom has a queen bed and the bath has a tub/shower combination. You will have to move side tables and coffee tables to 'open' the sleeper sofas in the den. We have a drip coffee maker, a cappuccino machine, French press and coffee bean grinder available for your use. We provide basic coffee, beans and small creamers. Shampoo/conditioner/body wash is also available for your use. Wilkes County locals call the town the "Moonshine Capital of the World." I'm not sure if that’s true but most everybody you talk to up there can probably tell you a moonshine story. My grandpa even had a moonshine still at one point and his dad was the sheriff! Wilkes County is proud to now have a Moonshine distillery - Call Family Distillery. They have moonshine pictures, stories, cars and LOTS of moonshine – the legal kind that you can buy if you are old enough. This home is just about 5-10 minutes off of Highway 421 and is a great home base for things to do in the area. What to do: There are several festivals in Wilkes County. October welcomes autumn with the Brushy Mountain Apple Festival. This is their 42nd year and my Mom remembers the first one. It was much different than today’s festival which hosts over 125,000 in attendance. We recently had the Peach Festival and FaithFest. MerleFest is a “traditional plus” 4-day music festival that is heralded as one of the best in the country. FULL DISCLOSURE, PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING: This home was hand-built in the 1940s which means everything may not be completely plumb (straight, even, level, etc.) A few notes –some of the ceilings are a little less than normal height so if you are a little more than normal height, we might not be a good fit. We are out in the country so sometimes there may be country smells and such like skunks, bugs and chickens. You may also see wildlife in the yard. Please do not approach wildlife or leave food out for them. The Moonshine Mini-Mansion sits on just under 8 acres of land. There is PLENTY of parking and a 2 car carport. There is a huge double tier deck so you can enjoy the beauty of the nature around you.
Enjoy the quiet of country living. There are plenty of places nearby to eat and shop and LOTS of festivals in the area. Cagneys is great for breakfast. Roselli's is the closest place to eat and it is FANTASTIC!!!! The custard-filled cream puffs are SO GOOD!!!! Their salad is famous as are all their Italian dishes. Their hours are sporadic but well worth the wait. MOONSHINE - legal moonshine is made at the Call Distillery nearby. If you are of age, you gotta try it! They have flavors as well as regular and lots of pictures and memorabilia. Very cool!!
  • A perfect mountain getaway and only minutes from anything you would be interested in seeing or doing.

This rustic cabin, surrounded by woods and bordered by a creek, is a off-grid experience. Reconnect with nature. Sit around the campfire. Rest in a hammock. Listen to the brook sing. Experience 'camping-lite' in The Treehouse. There is no electricity or running water. Connectivity is spotty. The interior is simple, with a loft bedroom. On the main floor, there is a simple kitchen area with cabinets and supplies. There is also a futon. A deck extends from the cabin. A Coleman Stove is provided.
Get outside in the fresh air. We are doing our best to keep everything clean and sanitary. I have put a 24 hour buffer between guests in order to clean and air out the building. If you have any questions about what I am doing, and if you feel confident, please ask. IF YOU WISH TO BOOK MORE THAN TWO PEOPLE, PLEASE MESSAGE ME. There is an additional of charge of $10 per person, per night. With tents, this location can accommodate 10 or more people. Located in the Brushy Mountains of Western North Carolina, this peaceful refuge, is nestled between a rock shelf and a creek. The little hollow is a great place for play or just getting away from it all. Once our guests arrive, they seldom want to leave. Walk down the steep hillside to the 12x12 insulated cabin, which is extended with a 10x12 ft. deck. The Tree House hangs off of a rock ledge and is supported by trees. Whether rain or shine, this location is peaceful, private, and serene. Dogwood trees hang gracefully over the deck. Larger trees dapple the large, private site with partial shade. Wade into the shallow stream, sit on the deck, rest near the fire pit, or sit on the tree swings, and hammocks, and listen to the little stream that borders the camp. The interior of the cabin is small, simple, but comfortable and includes a loft with a queen sized bed. On the main floor is a futon which converts into a double or two single beds. The kitchen includes cabinets for storage and a place for food preparation. To make your stay easier, we have added a few essentials, food items, as well as cooking equipment. On the deck there is Coleman cooking stove available for your use. There is an oil lamp, tea candles, and solar lights for your convenience. The paths have solar lights so you can find your way in the dark. It is very, very dark at night under the tree canopy. Please bring a flashlight so you can get around safely. There is a small, exterior, but attached outhouse with a sawdust composting toilet. This room has a battery powered motion light so you won't be stuck in the dark. There is a different place with a solar heated shower bag is available. You can also wash up in the creek. For those in your company who prefer a more primitive camping experience, there is plenty of room to pitch tents. If you have a larger group of people, you can also book our second site, The Suspended Sanctuary Tree Tent. The two sites are close enough for easy visiting but far enough a part for privacy. Play in the stream, follow the brook down to the neighbor's horse pasture, and into the woods, or wander upstream to the man-made waterfall. Walk up the gravel road to our farm and meet our goats, chickens, donkeys, and horses. This is a working hobby farm. Homemade treats and farm fresh chicken eggs are given to our guests, as available. We offer homemade gluten-free bake goods, bread, and muffins, from my gluten free kitchen. TRASH REMOVAL: For your convenience, there is a bin for recyclables, and a compost pile next to the garden. I will dispose of the human waste. If you bring a tarp, you can stretch it over the deck to keep out rain and sun, as well as extending your living space if you do get a rainy day. WINTER CAMPING: The wood stove that you see in the photos is merely decoration. There is no stovepipe. While many are capable of using a wood stove, all it takes is one mistake. So, we have provided a Mr. Heater Buddy that runs on 1# propane canisters. Please bring your own fuel. The directions on the Mr. Heater says that it burns 6 hours on low and 3 hours on high. The cabin is insulated and stays warm. Where we live, it is cold at night and often pleasant during the day. THIS IS AN OFF-GRID outdoor experience. There are spiders, bugs, crayfish, snakes, wild animals, dirt, etc. Please bring bug-spray.
Activities to the west include the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is about 30 minutes away. 15 minutes away is Kerr Scott Dam where you can rent kayaks, as well as other equipment, explore biking and hiking trails. Heading east, you can find several fine wineries and vineyards that you can visit. There is also a moonshine distillery in town. About a half hour away is an Amish community that has several businesses open to the public, including the Shiloh Bakery and General Store. They are closed on Sunday and Monday. To the northeast, about 45 minutes away, is Stone Mountain. Absolutely fantastic hiking, it is also an old homestead that has been renovated and is open to the public. Wilkes County has many festivals, including Merlefest, the largest bluegrass festival in the nation, is about 15 minutes from the cabin. During the week, there are several open air markets which highlight local food, local artisans, and local music. If you enjoy disk golf, we have a highly rated course nearby. There are also several antique and second hand stores in our community. Prayer Mountain is only two miles away. To the south, in HIddenite, there is hiking at Rocky Face Park and Emerald Hollow Mine, where you can search for gens in a river. Come and explore Wilkes County, and surrounding area, and see what we have to offer.

  • Amazing hosts and amazing place to stay!! My expectations were beyond exceeded. This place is so cute, cozy, rustic, peaceful, and just a little tiny paradise in the beautiful woods and mountains of NC. I am so grateful to have had such attentive hosts, and still just so full of joy and peace from my weekend away here. It was the best! This is a MUST book if you want a private get away or fun place to stay in Moravian. This place truly has something special about it that I will never forget!

  • This treehouse is such a treasure! The outside space is just plain magical. I took my dog and spent a weekend here to escape and breathe. I sure was able to do both. My dog was thrilled with the babbling brook. I am hoping to bring my entire family back! Just FYI when this says it’s off the grid, it’s literally off the grid. Creepy crawlers and nature galore. If you’re not up for that, this isn’t the place for you. Luckily we love being off grid! Elizabeth was a fantastic, one of a kind, host! So many thoughtful touches. Everything was truly appreciated.

Barefoot Cabin (BC) is a quiet, little, cabin tucked away in the Majestic Mountain gated community, near the Blue Ridge mountains, made to unplug, reflect & unwhine. Min's, from Wilkesboro, Boone, & attractions. Unique features include custom spiral staircase, Kitchen Pergula/ceramic woodstove w/ a flare of rustically, comfortable features. Special thank you to all who visited BC this past year. Experiences left in the little brown book truly reflect how special this place is. Thanks Eddie
Features a Pullout couch, Queen size bed, washer, (no dryer) shower, wood stove and stove, deck, fridge, microwave, T.V. tracks two local channels, and a DVD player. No internet service is available. Remember, it is modern rustic to get away form IoT. But if you need access to WIFI, you can use a Verizon Jetpack and you will be good to go.
The valley/mountains view are very cool. Don't be surprised if you happen to see wild turkey and other wildlife out there. Legend has it Daniel Boone hunted throughout the area. There are also waterfalls throughout the subdivision. Lot's of hiking to do.
  • enjoyed it!

  • Had a wonderful time at this charming cabin! Highly recommended! We were on a little family vacation to see the mountains and this cabin was in a great spot. Neighborhood was excellent! It is gated and the other houses have lots of space/woods between them, so everyone had privacy. Nice views from the cabin and really spectacular views from walking around the neighborhood. We traveled to Boone, Blowing Rock, and Linville caverns easily (under an hour). The cabin itself is so cute and fun! Great deck out back, lots of nice comfortable space inside. I will clarify the sleeping arrangement (because I was confused after reading the ad) there is a queen/full size bed in its own little bedroom on the first floor, along with a full bathroom. Upstairs in the loft there is a bunk bed, and downstairs there is also a pull out sofa. For our situation (traveling with a 7 year old), we were able to squeeze in a twin air mattress at the foot of the bed downstairs. Could have easily fit a large air mattress upstairs in the loft, but our kid wouldn't stay up there alone. Additionally, there are 2 chairs in the bonus reading nook area off the kitchen that are great for a nap! There is a dining table that sits 4-5 comfortably.

  • A comfortable, cozy getaway cabin...you will love it!!

    Tammy2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful trip. Eddie worked so hard on the cabin and to see what he did is just amazing. Would love to just sit a talk for a day on his journey remodeling the place, but he was able to do that through photos he placed around. Only needed to bring food and toiletries. He almost had everything else there for you. Will definitely be coming back!

    Alexandra2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Place is even more awesome in person! Eddie clearly has a passion for this place and it shows. View off the back deck is an incredible Mountain View. Cabin is in a very private gated community on top of a mountain. About 45 minutes to downtown Boone, where there are a ton of things to see and do.

  • The Misty Mountain Retreat is the perfect spot to take a relaxing vacation and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It seamlessly skirts the line between rustic and modern, making it feel very cozy and effortlessly functional. The location is unbelievably lovely and serene while being within easy driving distance of everything you need, making it feel secluded but not so much that you feel like you need to live like Bear Grylls... unless you are into that sort of thing. The cabin was immaculately clean and is well stocked with a variety of dishes and cookware so you can easily make your own meals in the beautiful kitchen. They even had some staples like oatmeal, rice, seasonings, etc which helps to cut down on the amount of redundant stuff you need to purchase while in the area. We really just cannot say enough great things about our visit, and look forward to staying at Shawn’s Misty Mountain Retreat again in the future.

  • The house was very clean with cozy decor with great views. Open concept allowed for easy entertaining!! Would 100% rent again.

    Hunter2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very isolated for privacy, but close enough to neighbors to not be afraid of the wilderness! 20 minutes from Boone and snow, or 20 minutes in the other direction for warmer temps and no precipitation. Great location!

  • Absolutely phenomenal AirBNB. Perfect for a weekend getaway to the mountains with luxury touches to help you relax. Couldn’t have asked for a better cabin.

  • Shawn’s place is extremely clean and comfortable. The hot tub was wonderful. Everything was perfectly described.

  • I sat out in a parking for almost 2 hours trying to find a nice place and somewhere that accepted pets. Everyone was charging ridiculous prices to bring a dog and cleaning prices were like $200.00 for a day!!!! THEN I CAME ACROSS SHAWN'S CRIB!!!! Well let me tell you what, not only was his place beautiful but there was NO PET FEE and I drove like a hour. It was so worth it. I had no trouble finding it up in the mountains. Shawn was super cool and he mapped out everything at his house for me. I didn't have to search or stress how to operate things. He mapped out everything!!!! Not to mention, his crib was beautiful and half the price as others listed.

    Jessica2020-02-04T00:00:00Z

We have 5 campsites on our land, in addition to our 6 Cabins. Campers have a picnic table and use of our Bath House with showers and restrooms. We are conveniently located about 200 yards off a main road in the country. 15 minutes away from shops and restaurants. Family friendly. No winding roads to access. The land is surrounded by trees and is about 7 acres.
This is a campsite. There is a picnic table. You have access to the Bathhouse, which has restrooms and hot showers. Family friendly retreat center.
We are in a rural type area located on a private road. While it seems we are in the woods, we are right off the main highway. :) No windy roads to find us.
  • Loretta & Robert’s place is the perfect spot if you’re looking to get away to a quiet, peaceful place with a great view of the stars. I was amazed at the space of the grounds and thoughtfulness and care of every design. I hope to return again have more time to spend at this very unique and special location.

    Jesse2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Loretta and Robert really do a great job of preparing a place that feels special and is uniquely devoted to quietude. If you want to draw closer to God (not just nature), this place will grace the effort. I expected that. What surprised me was the way the cabin arrangement with central showers and gathering places facilitated meeting the other campers in a way that none of my motels stays have ever done. Those many happy moments with fellow campers provided the true highlight of my time here.

(NOTE: NO EXCEPTIONS to 6-night minimum stay) Very private post-and-beam log cabin on 100 acres of mature forest, with a nice small stream and waterfall. Situated at end of a 2-mile public gravel road, with a half-mile private drive leading to the cabin.
Lots of trails thru the woods, great hiking and birding, bears, deer, and turkeys frequent the land. No hunting. Small orchard with Apple and Pear trees, greenhouse for wintertime sauna. As of 11/2018, just added a set of bunk beds in the Loft which are perfect for kids. Real wood-burning fireplace and we usually provide enough firewood for a couple fires. Local grocery stores have plenty more.
No one else normally around within half a mile, but surrounding lands sometimes are hunted, so you might hear distant guns.
  • Beautiful place to visit, no people, very quiet, clean air especially after New York. I was staying for almost 20 days. Highly recommended

    Alexander2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Google maps will show trails as an access to this house. A physical map is necessary getting to and from this area because phone service is almost none. Wifi at the house works great however. A comfortable and cozy cabin that will make you feel right at home. With all the essentials, you only need to bring groceries and toiletries with you (shampoo, toothpaste, ect.) The property is so quiet and peaceful. Hikes around the trails are either up or down, there's no flat land here. If you like exploring you can find a pretty neat water fall. There are ticks but only my dog was affected, other wise we saw a couple bugs in the house but no mosquitos or flies outside. We got up the drive way with 2 wheel drive but a head start is needed, it's pretty steep in some areas. Host was available and helpful when needed. A great value and a perfect getaway...literally!

    Taylor2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very pretty cabin in the middle of nowhere. That’s what made me want to stay! We went on hikes and had bonfires with the kids. It was a cozy house and the WiFi worked great even being that far off the beaten path. The owners are very friendly. Would definitely like to stay again!

    Andrea2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you are a nature lover this is just the place you've been looking for! We stayed at this beautiful log house in the woods with our 4 kids. We had the best quality family time just us and nature. The hosts are great, friendly and helpful in so many ways much more than expected. We would love to come again if we could!

    Yair2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect for relaxing in nature and taking a break from city life. The cabin has everything you’d need, and we really enjoyed exploring the property with our pups. While the driveway looked intimidating, we have a mid size SUV so we had no issues navigating it. Guy was a great host, and gave very clear instructions. All in all, it was a wonderful way to enjoy fall in the mountains of NC!

    Tiffany2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was both an adventure and experience living among critters ....large and small ..... on 100+ acres for 9 days. We received good information from Guy.... on what to expect.....so we filled our truck with gas and bought enough supplies to last for our visit. It’s not impossible to leave for things but it’s a good trip “into town”. We didn’t miss having AC so much since it cooled off at night and only a few days were what we would call...hot! The cabin is large ... parts still in progress.... with finishing off some of the basement and garage. Guy and his family had a wonderful garden and fruit trees while living there....along with a large greenhouse. The other structures nearby the house include a separate garage/workshop and small shed, plus a older small cabin....out of site...which was once used...but no more. It’s not for the faint of heart, the 1/2 mile road in ... has deteriorated enough to require a vehicle with substantial ground clearance. Enjoy your stay....

    Edith2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at the 100 acre woods. It was a beautiful cabin in the woods. Very private, very relaxing. It was super clean and well maintained. The driveway is of course challenging as noted by other people but my husband managed it in our mini van without too much trouble. We would definitely go again!

    Katie2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a huge log cabin with lots of interior space and character. The property is also huge, 100 acres total. There is reliable internet, 10mbps download / 1 mbps upload. All facilities work, which includes a dishwasher and laundry. It's out of the way of everything and down a lot of curvy roads, which is quite normal for the Appalachians. To make the final leg 1 mile driveway you will need higher clearance, so don't take a sports car. Our minivan was fine, although FWD struggled a bit and took some skill to handle the initial steep stretch. Guy will guide you through it, though. Overall great place to stay, highly recommended.

    Joshua2018-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Serenity Cabin really lived up to its name. Tucked back upon the edge of the woods, I slept soundly amidst the chirp of the crickets and frogs. Butterflies weaved throughout the proprty and danced around me throughout the day, including the rows of well-tended grapevines, which Robert encouraged me to enjoy. They were good! The cabins are charming and quite sound. It rained while I was there, and I'd been concerned about the water seeping in, but there was no problem. The cabin remained completely dry, even with the windows open - which was wonderful, because I love listening to the sound of the rain while I sleep. The bathrooms are in a separate building, and very clean. It was uniquely updated, with rustic wooden stalls, and sleek, corrugated metal clad showers. The water was hot, with the perfect amount of pressure, and towels and toiletries were plentiful. It was the perfect stay for someone like me, looking to have a comfortable place to rest and write while enjoying the falls, prayer mountain and meetings at The Gathering. While I was there, a family of five stayed at the cabin across from me, and loved their time here too. It was just me in Serenity, but there are a number of bunk beds in the cabin in addition to the cozy double bed I sleot on, providing plenty of room for other guests. Robert and Loretta were outstanding hosts. They invited all the campers to a fireside felliwship Sunday night, and it was positively lovely. Overall, the comfort and value was so great that I extended my stay. Highly recommend!

We lovingly finished and furnished this space for friends and family. They have all enjoyed the quiet solitude, beautiful views, wildlife and songbirds so much, we decided our home is too good to keep to ourselves. We would like to invite you to come and be renewed in the fresh mountain air. There are so many fun activities that are near us that you will want to come back over and over to have new experiences and relive others. We can help you make plans for any interest.
Our first level has a private entrance and the living space is all yours, if renting Dream on the Mountain. Or the possibility of being shared with other guests if you rent Kimber’s Kubby or Nellies Nest. You must walk down a gravel driveway to your entrance. If bringing your luggage down this way is too difficult for you please let me know and we can assist you through the house and down the stairs. There are two parking spaces available. The beds are all new top of the line Sterns and Foster. I take pride in keeping it sparkling clean for each guest. The house is solid and the rooms are quiet. This is a pet free and smoke free area.
Our Dream on the Mountain is located in a very special place, Moravian Falls. The history here is so rich and my husband loves to share all he has learned about this beautiful land. We are so close to mountain adventures like hiking, biking, rafting/ tubing and zip lining, as well as gemstone mining! We are close to skiing and snow boarding in the winter. Boone, Blowing Rock, West Jefferson and Banner Elk are quaint mountain towns with live music in the parks and restaurants, unique downtowns, with antique stores and boutique shops. Local artisans are featured in surprising places that will surprise and delight you. Wilksboro has two moonshine distilleries that give tours, with great local history, and tastings. There’s never a shortage of good music in Wilksboro. We are home of the famous MerleFest, Carolina in the Fall, AppleFest, Carolina Jam and Spirit Fest. Friday nights from May to Oct we have outdoor live music, food trucks and dancing. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a must see. It is minutes away and gives you breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys. There are many stops along the way to picnic, walk or hike to find beautiful waterfalls and see a wide variety of wildlife.
  • Wonderful hospitality, peaceful setting and great amenities. We loved coffee on the patio with a gorgeous hilltop view and curling up with a book in front of a crackling fire on a crisp evening. We'll check availability if/when we're in the area again.

    Kelly2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • The fall view from our private deck was glorious. I could hear an individual leaf falling from the large poplar trees and watch the squirrels play out any of the windows. A great place for a longer stay!

    Frank2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Carol's place! It is exactly as described. It is only a few minutes out of town, but it feels like an estate in the country. You can sit out on the deck and look out over the mountains and enjoy the silence. There is no formal kitchen, but there is a refrigerator, a Keurig, a toaster, and a microwave. Carol's place can be tricky to find, so be sure to use the pictures that she will send. The driveway is a little steep and rocky, so be sure to let Carol know if you need help. The space is roomy and comfortable. Carol is a lovely person and we enjoyed meeting her. We will definitely go back if we are in town again!

  • I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet beautiful space with amazing views. The place was exceptional and the host was wonderful to communicate with and had great knowledge to share about the area. The space has all the amenities anyone would need. • We could not have picked a better oasis to recharge our tired souls. We needed an escape. We needed to be rejuvenated. We needed some calmness and kindness. We certainly found it here. In only a few short days, we found ourselves sad to leave. This was our only sadness while staying ☺️ If this sounds like what you need too, then by every means available, come and stay a while.

The pool water is like bath water too. I slept so great too. Bed is super comfortable. Again, the hospitality received was the best I have ever experienced. Loved my room, private bathroom and the pool. You will love your stay.

  • Loretta was AWESOMEEEE!! Amazing woman with an amazing heart! The place is incredible!! Perfect getaway with the Lord!

  • The eagle cabin at Loretta and Robert’s place was superb! A warm and cozy cabin welcomed us from our long drive. Many things made our stay enjoyable but the little touches were incredible. When we entered the cabin, there was a lovely sign welcoming our family, a Keurig coffee maker with all the fixings for a delicious cup of coffee, and everything we needed to make the cabin a comfortable home away from home. Our 8 year daughter would tell you that the bathhouse was her favorite part of the stay. She told me it felt like she was at the spa. We will absolutely be returning to this little slice of heaven again and again!

  • Perfect little space for our family of four to spend a few nights. Without the distraction of tv, we had valuable family time. We also really enjoyed the chickens! Our hosts, Loretta and Robert, were so friendly and really interesting to speak with and invited us to enjoy their fire with them on Friday night. Such a wonderful experience!

  • My stay was fantastic! The check in with Loretta was easy and she is super nice, always happy and friendly. The cabins are way bigger than you may think from the pictures and have plenty of light and outlets for all your needs. There is a ceiling fan and windows that open to let the cool mountain air in. The bath house is well lit has 2 large showers and is very clean. I really enjoyed walking around the property and sitting on the flag stone benches by the main house. Parking is easy and there is room for a group to stay. There are plenty of outside lighting for getting around at night. I can't say enough about how much I loved it there and will go back again soon!

  • Wow! What an amazing Airbnb experience! My husband and I travel often and use Airbnb a lot, and this place tops the list :) Loretta & Robert were very kind and gracious hosts. They were very respectful of our space, and yet so approachable and easy to talk to. Their property is in a beautiful location and was perfect for our hiking getaway. We also visited Boone which was only about 45min away. The peaceful Eagle cabin (one of multiple cabins) that we stayed in was furnished nicely. We like to camp, and this is a BIG step up from camping because we actually had a bed to sleep on and electricity haha! It was also nice to have a separated men’s and women’s bathhouse. All in all, we’re so grateful to have found this gem. We will be back!

Enjoy a unique experience and get away from it all by sleeping in a Tentsile Tree Tent. Nestled in the woods with an overview of a horse pasture, this peaceful camp is a great way to have a rustic life experience. Start a campfire. Cook some food. Lay in the hammocks. Sleep among the trees. Listen to the frogs, crickets, and creek, the song of nature. This is a great place to reset. Many amenities are included. Message me if you have more than three people. There is room for a ground tent.
Get outside, breathe some fresh air. We are OPEN during the virus crisis. I am putting a buffer of 24 hours between guests so that I can clean and air out the tent. Please feel free to ask questions. Sleep suspended over this wooded mountainside, in a Tentsile, three person, tree tent. This primitive campsite, and suspended tree tent, provides a unique experience for campers, new and seasoned. This shelter, complete with a rain fly, is located on a steep hillside in the woods of Western North Carolina. The tent is designed to protect you in all weather conditions, rain or shine. It has a maximum weight limit of 880 lbs. Once you arrive, you will have a short trek through the woods to this location. Then, when you arrive at the clearing, you will be surrounded by trees and embraced by the landscape. Here you will find the hammock and tree tent. The tent is built to house three people. Climb up into hammock and then up into the tent and experience living and sleeping among the trees. Tentsile recommends, when its colder, that you use a pad or mattress of some sort. There is a fire pit, with a grill. Some firewood is provided. If you need more, there is an abundant supply all around you. Note: The canopy of trees keeps even the dry wood difficult to light. Please bring hand tools, fire starters, charcoal briquettes, etc. for helping you get a fire going. Lay on the hammock and listen to the horses grazing peacefully below the camp. The creek babbles near by. In the evening, the tree frogs sing their nighttime song. When the fireflies come out, they twinkle like nature's Christmas lights. A short walk away, through a small wetland , you will find the place where the spring fed creek gathers into a shallow pool. Here, you can easily wash up. Please use biodegradable soap. I understand that Castille soap is a good choice. This spot is shared with Babbling Brook Treehouse, also a camping spot on our property. Speaking of the Babbling Brook Treehouse, if you are having a group of people, family reunion, etc where some people like the outdoors, and others want a bit of glamping, book the two spots together for a great group/family getaway. ARRIVAL TIME - Because of the steep hillside, dense underbrush, and the dense darkness of the woods at night, is difficult to get into the site after dark. Please come before the sun sets. Please bring flashlights!! Activities include the Blue Ridge Parkway which is about 30 minutes away. We are also about 15 minutes from Kerr Scott Dam where you can rent kayaks as well as other equipment. Nearby, you can find several vineyards as well as an Amish community that has several businesses open to the public, including the Shiloh Bakery and General Store. Merlefest, the largest bluegrass festival in the nation, is about 15 minutes from the house. During the week, there are several open air markets which highlight local food, local artisans, disk golf, and local music. There are also several antique and second hand stores in our community. Prayer Mountain is only two miles away. Come and explore Wilkes County and see what we have to offer. TRASH REMOVAL: Please take your trash with you. You can bring your dogs. However, NO DOGS are allowed on the hammock or tent. Their claws could tear the fabric. Thank you for your thoughtfulness. CAMPING IN THE TENTSILE IN COOLER WEATHER: As the cool air comes through the bottom of the tree tent, it is recommended that you bring one or two blankets to put under your sleeping bag. A double layer is recommended to keep out the cold. (blanket plus sleeping bag) The rainfly over the mosquito netting dome of the tent, also keeps in heat. FYI, if you want more than 3 campers, I am working on an area for a tent. Please feel free to reach out to me if you want to increase the number of people staying in your group.
We are a rural setting but still close to lots of cool stuff. Read my additional information or just ask. I can help you.
  • We had an amazing time! Host we excellent! Already looking g at when we can go back!

  • My family and I had a great trip to Elizabeth's suspended tent! She was very accommodating to our needs and even cleared out a place to put a small tent! The 5 of us did not need it with the hammocks and suspended tent that were set up for us! She had many thoughtful touches to make our camping experience extremely comfortable. Elizabeth and her husband were extremely kind. Thank you for the above and beyond booking

My place is close to Wilkes Community College, great views, the mountains and Kerr Scott Lake.. You’ll love my place because of the kitchen, the coziness, the location, and the views.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
  • Unfortunately, I didn’t get to meet Angela in person, but can tell from our message exchange that she’s very kind. We absolutely loved meeting Charles and getting to speak with him for a bit. Their space is beautiful and perfectly located near Wilkesboro, Boone, Blowing Rock, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. I would highly recommend their place, as I felt like I was staying with family rather than staying at an Airbnb.

  • We had a very pleasant stay here, when we attended MerleFest. We slept in a comfortable bed, were treated to yummy breakfasts every morning, and felt like we were transported to a lovely English garden when we sat outside. We felt like old family friends, which was a special treat. We highly recommend staying here, and hope to stay here again.

1 queen bedroom apartment with panoramic mountain views! Sleeps 5 if you include one queen sleeper and twin in Sunroom. Peaceful, quiet, and full of natural beauty. Fios internet (50Mbps), H20 on demand, and new appliances, including washer & dryer, heat/AC, and parking make for a comfortable stay. The apartment is the lower level of a mountain style home, on 10-acre saddleback on the Wilkes/Alexander county line. 20 min. to downtown Wilkesboro. It is a beautiful “heaven on earth."
A final point to consider: the house, of which the apartment comprises the lower level, is for sale. It has been on the market since March 2019. So far, this has not been a problem for travelers, but it is probably wise not to book more than two months in advance. Also, when we have a showing the guest must leave the premiss neat and clean, and go off the property for an hour and a half (usually the length of the showing), and allow entry to their space for the realtor and clients.
People come for the natural, amazing, breathtaking beauty of our 10 acres and the region. It is a place of quietude and open heavens.
  • Sally's place doesn't disappoint. It's truly relaxing and really comfy! I appreciate the workspace and wifi, too. I love staying here!

  • Sally’s Airbnb had beautiful views of the mountains in the morning and the stars at night. We got up to see the sunrise each morning! The space was very clean, cozy and had everything we needed. I would recommend staying here if you’re looking for a quiet getaway that’s within an hour drive of Boone and Blowing Rock. You can enjoy the quiet and beautiful mountains and still go into town for groceries, places to eat, etc.

  • Very nice home. Very clean and well kept with lots of space. The views from the porch are awesome! Easy instructions and great communication with owners.

  • You won’t get this view and peace for this price anywhere. There’s a level of silence at this altitude that paired with the view, is absolutely wonderful. This is the second year in a row we’ve booked for 9 people and got everyone very well. The kitchen space is perfect for a group. Hopefully we can book for a third year for the annual trip.

This is a campsite. 15 minutes to MERLEFEST!
Flat space with picnic table. Wifi limited to picnic area near host home.
Our neighborhood is rural. We are not far off a main road, so we are very easy to reach. Our street is a private road.
  • The Echo Campground is so much more than a campground! While there are five camp sites available and we stayed in one with our pop-up camper, the cabin accommodations they offer are very special. Loretta met us when we arrived. She was kind enough to let us take a look inside a cabin they recently updated. There were bunk beds and a double bed, table and chairs, barn door style window shutters, a microwave, mini-frig, coffee maker, fan and space heater (depending on the weather), all with a touch of comfortable, cozy style. It almost looked right it was right out of a magazine. She said some of the other cabins are more basic, but they are slowly getting them all updated. The shower house is separate for men and women. Her husband has recently updated the women's side and it is charming as can be. When tent or pop-up camping, a flush toilet and hot shower are always appreciated! The shower house was very clean, water was hot, and they even provide shampoo and soap. At the shower building, there is a full sized refrigerator for all guests to share. She even provided us with organic apples and bottle water. It was much more than we ever expected. I can promise that you won't be disappointed! And next time we may leave the camper at home and stay in one of the cabins. A great get-away!
