“Step back in time and history ... Peggy's place and hospitality were just so lovely. I would highly recommend this B&B ... right on Bayou Teche ... we even got to see a gator just floating around next to a very brave couple of turtles. Nature and history abound and Saint Martinville itself is just steeped in history (The Evangeline Oak is right next to the property). The home is just so beautiful; step back in time.”
This is the perfect bayou getaway in the heart of Cajun Country. It overlooks Bayou Amie, which is adjacent to the Atchafalaya Basin. It’s also within minutes of genuine and authentic Cajun cuisine (Landry’s and Pat’s) and local fishing and boating spots (Atchafalaya Basin). With a deck overlooking the water, a comfy bed, and plenty of outdoor space, it covers all points of interest! A great hideaway spot for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families!
“What a great place on Bayou Amy (Pronounced ah - me). I was able to land a few fish (sac-a-lait) which made a great local dinner for my wife and I. I don't understand a previous reviewer's comment that it isn't an appropriate place for people in their 60's. I am in my late 60's and found that the place exceeded my expectations. Kitchen was well equipped, the artwork throughout the house added to our enjoyment, the space was comfortable and pleasant.”
Welcome to our home! Tucked away in a pocket of towering pine and magnolia trees, it's a picturesque hideaway conveniently located near a variety of Acadiana cultural destinations: Avery Island and the Home of Tabasco Hot Sauce, downtown New Iberia and the Shadows on the Teche Antebellum Home, Lake Martin and Lake Fausse State Park for outdoor fun, and plenty of local scenes for dancing, drinks, and great food. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families with kids. Come see!
“Our stay with Ragen and her family was one of our best Airbnb experiences. The location was perfect for exploring the area on our way to New Orleans. We highly recommend and hope to return one day. It was a special treat to be invited to see the farm. We felt like a part of the family. Wish we could rate more than 5 stars. We appreciated the good coffee and good lighting for reading in bed. Banjo and Bonnie were fun to love on and Banjo was a great companion for a morning walk.”
