Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Shelter Cove

Some unexpected weather damage and cancellation to our first Airbnb lead us to search again. We found this gem, it was a bit further away than initially desired but in the end it was exactly what we needed. Explored Ave of the Giants, Lost Cove and Black Sand Beach, and just relaxed. The beauty of the forest was special. Unfortunately, I needed to work a few days-WiFi worked perfectly. We made a full Thanksgiving dinner and meals at the house. The beds are comfortable, the water plenty hot, the kitchen outfitted; it was perfect for us three and our 20lb dog. Thanks Landon for hosting us!

We had a peaceful and restful stay at Johnna’s place. The home is located in an isolated area among the trees. There is not much to do in the area and it rained our entire stay. However we were content to stay inside and relax. There are games and books available. The tv and wifi service are spotty but that’s to be expected being so far out. The home is comfortable and cozy. And we had plenty of space and everything we needed. We would highly recommend Johnna’s home.

This was our second stay at Delmar's home and we plan to stay again next year. That should sum up our satisfaction with our experience. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the private planes taking off and landing. It's an easy walk to the Gyppo Ale Mill, the light house and the extensive tide pools below. The home is well appointed, comfortable and sparkling clean.

Amazing Stay – Highly Recommend! We had an incredible time at Kevin’s place! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was ideal, with easy access to local attractions and restaurants. Kevin was incredibly welcoming, providing thoughtful touches like local recommendations and a detailed guidebook to make our trip even better. Communication was seamless and quick, and they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. You are only about 1 mile from the beach which was an amazing location!

My experience definitely exceeded expectations! Excellent kitchen with all of the cooking amenities I needed (including an outdoor propane grill)! Marcedes was very responsive to all of my questions before and after check-in, she was very friendly and set up the grill for us before we arrived. The home itself is beautiful and cozy (there were even some toys and books for my toddler!). My only flag is that there is no wifi. This was fine for us because the cell service is good in the area, but may be a challenge for those planning to use wifi. I would definitely stay here again!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Lance’s place. The view is spectacular and the house is clean and comfortable. We’d welcome the opportunity to return!

This is one of the most beautiful places we’ve stayed in. Pictures don’t do it justice! The house and grounds had so much to offer we “stayed in” the entire weekend. Our host was wonderful and we’d love to come back in the summer to enjoy this property even more.

The coolest place I’ve ever stayed! Loved all the attention to detail. The treehouse was so fun and so cute. The bed was very comfortable! I’d love to stay at this gem again.

This was a great place to stay for a quick overnight during my & my twin daughters’ epic road trip. We were able to get some laundry done & relax before hitting the road again the next morning. Ian was friendly & communicative before & during our stay.

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay! The surroundings were perfection! The home was cozy but plenty of space to spread out with 2 adults, 2 kids and our Goldendoodle. We had an amazing time and would absolutely stay here again.

Becky's place was great, original house from the late 1800's, restored by a craftsman carpenter. Wood stove and plenty of wood kept it nice and comfortable (even too warm at times) and added a rustic element to the experience. Very much enjoyed our stay, kids played outside in the large yard with slack line and tree house inbetween rainy showers. Minutes to the beach with spectacular waves rolling in. Loved it!

Nice and comfortable cabin in the woods. The house is very comfortable to be in with all the amenities that you would expect.

Kevin is a great host and his place is beautiful, just like on the photos. The house is super clean and spacious, we loved the riverside and the peaceful, quiet surroundings.

Stayed here for the long Thanksgiving Weekend. Excellent location right at the trailhead to the Black Sand Beach. The place has two decks, one gets the morning sun, the other the afternoon sun + the sunset. Good interior design, lots of space. Internet connection is very slow and definitely needs improvement
