Moytura Irish Mountain Retreat

TobyRating, 5 stars82 months ago
I spent one month at this beautiful home and could not have been happier. The house is very comfortable and well appointed, has great views, loved the glass conservatory - warm in occasional sunshine on cool days, thunderously atmospheric on rainy days. Happy to find yoga mats and a meditation cushion, a pair of wellies to borrow, and very much enjoyed the fireplace and the smell of peat briquettes. The house is very secluded in lovely rural countryside filled with farmland lakes and woods, but only a 20-30 minute drive to several nearby towns with quite a lot going on in them, and of course beautiful nature and hikes and neolithic monuments and medieval ruins in all directions. Nola was extremely helpful and communicative and full of knowledge about the area. Although there's no wired internet, there's quite a strong mobile signal most of the time (I found Eir service to be good enough for streaming and video calls) so the wifi hotspots at the house should serve you well, though sometimes the signal worsens in heavy rain or at occasional other times, but was always steady enough for casual use.

Greenfort Cottage

SaschaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
The space is a gem. It is located exactly between Sligo and Ballina and it takes about 30 minutes by car. The location by the sea is perfect for escaping everyday life. The direct private path takes you within 2 minutes to a deserted sandy beach. By the way, the homemade bread is also recommended and ensures a family arrival. The extra costs for oil and electricity are absolutely within the frame and do not blow up the holiday fund. I definitely recommend it and would come back myself as it was a perfect location for the excursions and hikes in the area. Personally, I can also recommend the city of Sligo,as it is not yet as crowded and hyped as Galway. i say THANK YOU and wish you all the best! Margaret is a wonderful host

Eagles Rock Cottage - Beautiful Isolation

TayvesRating, 5 stars6 months ago
Absolutely amazing place to stay. Not so far that it’s all a hassle but far enough that you get as much disconnection as you need. Check-in was extremely easy and there was absolutely anything you could’ve needed at the cottage. I hope to come back here some day and highly recommend.

The Stables - On Private Working Farm

SineadRating, 5 stars8 months ago
Communication with the host Patrick was really good throughout, very helpful and informative. We didn't get to meet him but his brother Tom was on site. Very welcoming and friendly and showed us around. We had a lovely stay, the house was very clean and beds were super comfy. Lovely views from the windows upstairs. The kids enjoyed the little playroom downstairs. Great location too for getting around and seeing all the local sights. Definitely recommend The Stables, we will definitely book again next time we're in the area.

Really can't say enough about this place. Located in the most idyllic spot, the property is extremely well kept and has everything you could need. Maura & David were extremely accommodating offering us a late check out, putting together a gorgeous welcome hamper with all essentials and helping us organise a taxi to a wedding we were attending. They were also extremely kind and gracious at checkout when we discovered our car wouldn't start, gave us a jump start and allowed us back into the accommodation to use the facilities while we waited to get sorted. Thank you so much Maura & David we are extremely grateful.

Marsh Cottage, Eircode F91 N4A9

EleanorRating, 5 stars10 months ago
Great cottage! Amazing secluded location but very close to an excellent Supervalu and easy drives to lots of great walks and to Sligo Town. Catherine almost talks the cottage down! Whilst it is a traditional cottage it is wonderful. Clean, has everything we needed, good shower (would be 100% perfect is there was a bath for after big walks). Great place for dogs with enclosed property, lots of outdoor space and a cosy living space. Some dogs might escape out the gate if unsupervised but that's quite far up the lane. We would definitely stay here again if Catherine will have us!

We had an amazing stay! Very peaceful spot especially with the noise of the river while your sleep. The rooms were spacious and the beds were super comfy. I loved that there was no tv! We used the pizza ovens for dinner one night which was very handy and tasty. Having the jacuzzi and sauna was so nice! We spent most or weekend in them both. Catriona was extremely helpful and an amazing host! She went above and beyond for us all as a party of 4

Sound of the Sea: Spacious 4 bed coastal retreat

NicolaRating, 5 stars8 months ago
I am SO in love with Diana's home. We had 7 adults, a toddler and dogs and yet there was still loads of room. The rooms are massive, so everyone had lots of space to sleep, and the dogs could run around the grounds. EVERYTHING you ever need is there, toys for the kids, dog treats, every type of kitchen utensil and a gorgeous welcome basket. But there is a shop 300 steps away and loads of lovely towns nearby. The beaches were 4 mins away in the car each and just so peaceful, not full at all. I will be back and will be telling everyone about this peaceful place.

Ireland West Farm Stay

We had such a lovely stay, Eddie and Anne were very welcoming and helpful. The cottage was clean and tidy, when we arrived they had left us fresh egss, bread, milk, cheese, tea, coffee and juice, which was a lovely surprise, alot of places we have stayed do not do that and it does make such a welcoming difference. The fireplace is amazing and the views around are stunning. We will be back.

Historic country house, almost exclusively yours!

SheilaRating, 5 stars6 months ago
A big thanks to Nicola and Durcan for our wonderful stay at Annaghmore House, Sligo. The days past far to quickly, there was so much to see and explore. We enjoyed meeting their beautiful and friendly dogs, they always had a welcome for us. We loved breakfast while chatting with our hosts Nicola and Durcan, finding out all about the history of the House, which was fascinating. Nicola recommended places to go and visit. My only complaint is that our stay was too short. I hope we get an opportunity to visit again, maybe while doing the ‘Sligo Way’ trail next year.

Beautiful home and pictures just do not do justice as it exceeded our expectations. The beds were super comfortable and showers were powerful and good. Only downside was no internet which was annoying but Roderick explained the tower was down and kindly offered to go to his home should we need it urgently. We would happily stay again.

Hill Farm Retreat - Studio & Cabin

ErikRating, 5 stars1 week ago
I very much enjoyed my first stay in Ireland with Fynn. The place is as it is described and photographed. The dog Freya is very friendly and playful. The two boys (11 and 13 years) enjoyed moving around the compound and also feeding the cute sheep with lambs. From Dublin Airport it takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes by car, to the west coast to Sligo about 1 hour. Our visits to the Arigna Mountain Experience (coal mine) as well as Lough Key Forest and Activity Park were very nice and recommended. Fynn is a very friendly host and even allowed us a cozy fire evening on the farm grounds.

Castlegal Cherry Cottage with mountain views

EdelRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This cottage is much more lovely in person and more spacious. The living room was gorgeous and so cosy with the stove, blankets galore and comfy couch. The bedrooms were all lovely, clean and spacious also. It felt very peaceful there with such beautiful surroundings and Holly Amber and Barbara have thought of everything. The kitchen is very well equipped and the cottage is beautifully decorated. There are lots of books and games for children and adults and also lots of local information at your finger tips which is very helpful for planning your days visiting the richly engaging area. Our two boys aged 8 and 10 and our dog had great fun in the large back garden and on the beautiful Streedagh beach, only a few minutes drive away. We definitely would love to return.

We loved this house, a superb family destination, our 4 kids loved the up stairs play area. The down stairs was wonderfully set up for family meal times. The location is excellent, the kids got a few days of surf school and we saw a good bit of Sligo and got some great tips on what to do from the hosts.
