A malnad style village home surrounded by splended views and river running through the farms. Huge waterfalls and lush green paddy fields. My home is 200 meters from the beautiful Kadamagundi waterfall and the river runs right next to my home. You can always hear water gushing in the river. It is also home to multiple western ghat birds. You can hear birds all through out the day. Climate is warm and humid in summer. Windy and cool in winter. Its rains all most everyday in rainy seasons.
“"The woods are lovely dark and deep....but the miles can wait before I sleep." Robert frost would have written it thus if he had passed through didupe! We got out of Bangalore early Saturday morning and Shivkumar was in constant touch with us enquiring about our location, providing us with precise directions, we were asked to get our vehicle till the asphalt road ends. There our guide was waiting for us to take us to our habitation for the next two days, we were asked to alight from the vehicle with our baggage in hand. Our adventure began almost immediately as we discovered that we had to cross quite a few streams with almost knee deep water with baggage in hand. When we had finished the 20min trek,we reached the village home of our host, where Shiva clad in a dhoti and shirt welcomed us in. Lunch was simple but flavourful and we all overate. The trek to waterfall thereafter was lovely passing through areca nut plantations and forest trails. The waterfall itself was beautiful you can go all the way to the edge of the fall, you can either sit on the rocks and admire the fall from a distance or sit on a ledge under the fall and get a good back massage with the water hitting you at all the pressure spots. As many others have mentioned it's a place with lots to do or nothing to do, it's a must for those who want to take a break from the humdrums of the city and bring the clock almost to a standstill. A word about our host Shiva, he is a smart guy who knows what the guests are desiring and what they are capable of, hence he tailor makes the itinerary for you on the spot. He would enthral us with stories of treks and the jungle, his friendly and humble demeanor would put you immediately at ease.”

“Good place secluded from the town side. Plz inform the person as soon as the place is booked for them to arrange for food as the nearest town is 10 kms away and post 9pm it’s very difficult to get food as the town closes early. Apart from that peaceful soundless place. Absolutely no network so peaceful for us city people to unwind and stay in peace”

“The place is a heavenly abode , away from humans submerged in nature it’s resonates every word written by the host ! Not a place for people who don’t love nature , a perfect getaway to tranquillise oneself with some homely food , a natures walk , and some friends to take us through the nature at its best !”
