Highfield is a recently renovated two bedroom mountain hideaway, which enjoys commanding views across surrounding farmland and mountains. The cottage is set on 8 acres of rural land and is located on a quiet road 6kms from the charming township of Swifts Creek with its famous bakery and hotel.

I booked for a girls weekend ski trip at the end of August and the cottage was, undoubtedly, the feature that made the trip into something really special. Styling is functional, cosy and relaxing, and the layout is so comfortable that you feel at home the moment you walk in the door. I only wish my own home had such an incredible view! Everything you could want for is provided. Electric blankets on the beds, gorgeous fresh linen, super soft towels and an incredibly well-resourced kitchen. We arrived late on Friday night, and so didn't light the fire, but the electric blankets made for a super cosy and restful night's sleep. We woke to a gorgeous sunrise with views over the rolling hills and enjoyed a delightful breakfast before heading up well-charged for a day on the slopes. Driving back from Hotham, we picked up some groceries in Omeo before the supermarket closed at 7:30pm. We then lit the fire and enjoyed a warm, home-cooked meal and mulled wine and lots of great stories. The fireplace is particularly excellent - easy to light, and it gets really hot for those cold alpine nights. I especially appreciated how all the wood is cut perfectly to size!! By far, this is the best snow accomodation I've stayed at in Australia. The property is so beautiful that it would suit any activity you'd like to engage in - from long sleep ins, painting or reading on the porch or under the trees, to long walks exploring the surrounding native areas. Welcome! Just 5 Kilometres along the road winding its way from Swifts Creek through Cassilis and on up to Omeo, is a Miners Cottage, but not just any miners cottage. Well established in the Omeo Region, The Miners Cottages offer complete solitude and total comfort along with a convenient location from which to access the region's services and attractions. Absolutely delightful setting at any time of the year, the gardens adjoin Native Bushland, and the birds and other wildlife love to visit.

The gardens were just gorgeous with all the large trees in full autumn display. I was staying there with elderly parents and a grandchild and it was perfect for both, safe level walking paths, outdoor settings under the trees and lots of space for the little one to run around in the gardens. Jason and Lyn were very helpful and accommodating, thankyou!”
