Monthly Rentals in The Doward

Helen and Graham were fabulous hosts, from making sure the log burner was on for when we arrived to the thoughtful homemade cake and bread they provided… the most peaceful, beautiful setting, dog friendly and great recommendation of a walk along the river wye to the local pub. We hope to return when the sun comes out as I’m sure it will be even more spectacular!

Off the beaten track but Debbie provided good instructions - Google Maps is accurate to find it. Easy parking in front and great views across the valley. Place was really clean, quite modern with enough facilities. Nice touches with the dog bits and bobs box. Couple of minor niggles - the heater in the front room makes some banging noises and the taps are the wrong way in the kitchen! Overall a great location, really good food at the near by Ye Olde Ferrie Inn. The pack provided was very comprehensive as we had to refer to it a few times... Would recommend and would like to stay again for a few days longer.

I arrived at the end of winter so it was cold and raining, but with absolutely beautiful rain and fabulous gray skies and the trees getting ready to bud. The spring must be so enchanting. Debbie and Derek have a glorious, characterful garden area packed with shrubbery, herb bushes and luxuriant vegetation, and this is still just February. Verdant views from the property window are priceless, rolling green hills and the soft, undulating landscape near the Wye Valley and Welsh Marches. I was extraordinarily grateful to Debbie and Derek for how they kept the charming little nest snug and cosy so that I was warm as toast. Really appreciate that. Lovely, lovely little apartment conversion with charming little kitchen area and beautifully tasteful furnishings, linens and excellent water pressure in the neat bathroom. A perfect treasure of a characterful and qualitative rural AirBnb which will satisfy all expectations for an enchanting stay in irresistibly lovely West Wales.

We had a wonderful stay, it’s a beautiful place and we felt very comfortable. The location was perfect for us - only a short drive to Monmouth, Ross-on-Wye and Symonds Yat, yet secluded and peaceful. We had a lovely walk around the local area and really enjoyed seeing birds, rabbits etc.
