Farmstay vacation rentals in Upper Peninsula of Michigan

My husband & I rented Melissa's cottage for a weekend getaway to Traverse City. It was so peaceful & the home was just as described/pictured. The gifts left for us were delicious & made us feel very welcome. The hot tub was perfect for cold mornings & evenings. The cottage was clean & decorated lovely (LOVE all the books!). We feel we chose the perfect rental for our weekend! Leelanau county has a lot to offer & more than we realized! We wine tasted on Old Mission Peninsula near Traverse City, but apparently there were nice wineries even closer - & one just a couple miles down the road from this rental! The heat worked well and the fireplace was such a nice touch for the winter. I'm so glad it's usable! Thank you again for sharing your cottage with us!

Our car broke down on our way up North so we got to the house very late with no food or water because stores were closed and luckily this house had everything we needed and was so clean and cozy! We enjoyed every room and played lots of games and built a fire everyday. The guidebook was also so helpful! We enjoyed this house so much and would love to come back and stay at Darcy’s again. One of my favorite stays, thank you so much!!

My partner and I stayed at the cabin for the weekend, and could not recommend more! Mark was a great host and made us feel at home.

Kathy’s place is perfect for a north woods getaway. We snowmobiled, and even though there is no trail at the end of the driveway, there is a public boat launch that provides access to the chain of lakes just a couple of houses over and easy to get to. The place has everything you need and just the right amount of tucked away but still close to town. Kathy is nearby and willing to help with anything that comes up. 10/10

Mark is always so great! We’ve stayed here multiple times now and won’t be staying anywhere else (if his place is available) when we’re in that area!

It was a great place to stay! Very relaxing!

Mary was very responsive - had a little trouble with internet when we arrived and Mary was right on it and corrected my mistake. The surroundings were beautiful with the fall colors and the setting was so serene and peaceful. It was exactly what we wanted being close enough to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore to enjoy it but far enough away not to be caught in the tourism. Mary was able to give us restaurant suggestions and be super responsive without being overbearing. Overall a truly wonderful stay!!

We loved our stay in this beautiful home. It was spotless clean with lots of room for large families or groups. Our host was very responsive, flexible and helpful. The location was close to Potawatomi State Park and downtown Sturgeon Bay in a quiet neighborhood. We will definitely be back!

Jacob was a great host he responded quickly and gave clear instructions. It was a very nice place, everything was very clean when we arrived. I would definitely go back.

Beautiful quaint place to stay, and the hosts were very hospitable, even enjoyed some fresh apple cider the morning we checked out!

Great location, especially for events/weddings at Castle Farms. Quiet location and plenty of parking. More than enough rooms for the wedding party. The lower bedrooms had glass doors so that the living, dining and kitchen wouldn’t disturb them. The upper bedrooms were great for groomsmen and bridesmaids. We had lots of snow but can imagine how nice it looks when things are green. The only hiccup was not reading all the details about checking in requirements. They used Happy Guest which required a sign up fee and $1000 deposit in order to get code for the door. We figured it out, had it downloaded, paid and got the door code while in their driveway. Overall a great trip and stay.

Fantastic house and property! We were here in February for a long weekend and the house was perfect. It snowed several inches and this was the best place to curl up by the wood stove with a book, explore the property with our dog, and play games with the kids. One of the cleanest rentals we’ve stayed at and every thing was just as pictured. Location is great - short drive to Northport, Suttons Bay, and even Glen Arbor for an afternoon of skiing. Cannot recommend enough!

We couldn’t have asked for better weather which made our time there so much fun!! Lauren was so nice and informative when we arrived, we felt at home. The views were amazing. Coffee and bagels brought to us in the morning! It was so perfect!!! It makes you feel like you’re in a whole different world. We will definitely be back!

Amazing views of the bay and orchard. The location is very peaceful and relaxing, but close enough to Suttons Bay for activities. The interior was clean and updated nicely. The home had everything we needed for our stay.

The place was very clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. The hot tub and sauna were awesome after a day of hiking. We would definitely stay again!

Sue was absolutely a joy to work with. We had a last minute trip due to weather circumstances and she was accommodating, helpful and friendly. The home was wonderful and worked perfect for us! The seasonal road next door was wonderful for walking, the drive to a grocery store was short, the house was well stocked with everything we needed. We all said it would be fun to return in the future. Thank you again, Sue, for sharing your lovely home!

Really comfortable and nicely decorated. A group of 4 friends visited. plenty of space and everything we needed was there. It is out in the country but s short drive to wineries and restaurants. Would definitely recommend

Our stay was great overall. If I had to pick something to change, I'd want the outside front entrance light to work. That's really it. :)

We really enjoyed our stay at this home! The home was very spacious for our group of 5. We did struggle to find Ubers and Lyfts and taxis seem to book up quickly so we would suggest planning rides in advance. Other than that we couldn’t have asked for a better space and location for our trip! Annemarie is a great host and kept us informed and up to date throughout our entire stay. Would definitely recommend!

Therapeutically peaceful. Great little place to get away from the rest of the world and both figuratively and literally unplug.

The house was immaculate. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of warm blankets. There were lots of empty cupboards and drawers for our clothes and groceries. The location near the center on the Leelanau Peninsula made it easy to drive to all of the points that interested us. Stephanie or Rena immediately responded to any question I had.

Susan and Peter's place is definitely a place we would love to return to once we'll come again to Harbor Springs area. It felt nice, comfortable, home like, and we felt very welcomed. The view, that surrounds the house is just beautiful .

We had a great time up north. Craig’s place was centrally located to all the places we wanted to see. It was clean, quiet and very peaceful. Would stay there again.

My group has been cross-country skiing at ABR for more than 20 years. We like to rent a house on the trails. This was our first time at Saari House. The second week in March was late in the season for skiing, but we skied in the mornings and snowshoed in the afternoons. Being right off the Blueberry Bluffs trails was nice. The house is charming, with lots of natural light. There is a well-equipped kitchen and a dining room table that seats 6. There is just one bathroom but that was fine for our group of four women. One bedroom is on the main floor, off the cozy living room. The second floor has the second bedroom, plus an extra room with a pull-out couch. It was nice to have plenty of large towels, and a washer/dryer in the bathroom. There is a small wooden deck around the front of the house. You enter through a mud room with plenty of room to store your boots and hang clothes. We look forward to a visit here next winter!
