The property is surrounded by birch and popular providing a peaceful sound to fall asleep to and shade on the hot summer days. Bonfire pit with wood available made for an excellent way to end a wonderful day. Very quiet at night and a beautiful sand beach about a 2 minute walk that was enjoyed everyday. Perfect for little ones. Very short drive to falcon lake, even closer to west hawk lake if you want to skip cooking and grab dinner & ice cream! Also amazing hiking trails close by. For our family it had everything we expected and much more. We found it very difficult to leave! Thank you for sharing this piece of serenity Diane!”
Inspired by the space-saving design of tiny homes Aster cabin is by far our cutest offering. Built with dovetail pine, and on a cliff overlooking the lake this cosy unit contains all you need to make it your tiny home away from home. Includes access to a shared dock, hiking trails, sauna, cedar shower and use of canoes, kayaks and SUPs. Part of a small eco-resort that has the feel of a wilderness getaway yet is less than 15 minutes from the restaurants and shops of downtown Kenora.
“You will enjoy your stay at Peter and Kristine’s if you like camping, and not plugging along all the pots, pans, stove, etc. to do so. Everything is provided, down to wiener sticks and tongs for the fire, even dish soap. The compost toilets smelled not one little bit, and we appreciated that! Showers were about 8 minutes for a loonie, very reasonable. The canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards were VERY fun to have, and the docks and swimming area great. It seemed like you had your own private lake. We ventured through the tunnel over to the Winnipeg river and had a great afternoon of paddling. With one compromised knee, I wasn’t able to make it back through the tunnel, as it required some maneuvering around slippery rocks, but the Portage is not long. Would definitely go back.”
Our cozy, FOUR-SEASON-WATERFRONT cottage is located on the Winnipeg River. Just one-hour east of Winnipeg, swim, boat, fish, kayak, or paddle board off our PRIVATE dock. The area is known to be a quiet get-away for the family. Colder months make for a beautiful winter-wonderland with access to ice-fishing, year round groomed tails for snow-showing, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. And don't forget to have a outdoor fire, overlooking the view.
“My family and I had an amazing isolated weekend chez Ryan and Devyn. It’s so nice to get out to the lake and hear the birds no matter what season. We spotted a bald eagle right in the backyard and got to have some quality time whilst physical distancing from the city. I would recommend this place to anyone no matter the season. Ryan and Devyn were excellent hosts. Will absolutely book again. Thank you for the much needed break from the city amid all that is going on in the world.”
