“We stayed at Sharon’s place for catching some moonbows in the nearby Cumberland Falls State Park. The place was thanks to Sharon’s instructions easy to find, spotless clean and we loved the delicious goodies from her granddaughters store she left for us in our kitchenette. The state park was easily reachable and it was even a good location to reach Mammoth Cave National Park.”
Private guest house with incredible outdoor resort feel, nature trails and simple farm life. Three miles from the University of the Cumberlands. Twenty minutes from Cumberland Falls, home of the world's only Moonbow. ***Absolutely no smoking of any kind (e-cig included) permitted anywhere on the property and entire the neighborhood.
“We found this hidden gem as a place to pit stop on our travels, and it exceeded our expectations! It was the perfect hideaway and offered a much needed escape. There were some amazing little touches in all of the details of the home, and having access to the hot tub gave our family some privacy and the ability to unwind. What we intended to be a pit stop is now some place my wife and I plan to return as a get away for just the two of us.”
Enjoy the peaceful country neighborhood with dark skies, and summertime fireflies. The cabin is on the second floor of a detached building on our property. With one complete bedroom, fully kitted kitchen, full bath, and even a loft, this space has a lot of room to spread out. Relax after a day of exploring on the huge covered back deck. Big South Fork Nat'l Park is 10 minutes away! The conveniences of Oneida are 2 miles away. Knoxville is 1 hr. Local craft beer and lots of adventure await!
“Can’t say enough about Big South Fork or the cabin. Awesome place!!! Scott and Kristin are wonderful people and wonderful hosts with an absolutely beautiful guesthouse cabin!! With so much to do in the area they live in, we were hardly at the cabin during our weekend stay, but the cabin is a great place to just hangout and relax. It’s spacious and they have it spotless clean! Bed’s great. Showers great. We didn’t watch TV but they have it set up that if you want to, you can watch anything. The cabin is full of really cool decor and touches that make it comfortable, and even has a porch to relax on if you’re there with the time! As I said before, we weren’t there much because the area they’re in has so much to do. If you love hiking the outdoors and admiring Earth’s natural beauty, Big South Fork is for you. If you really want to explore all there is in BSF, a weekend is not long enough, haha. We went to the O&W Railroad bridge, Twin Arches (gotta do the Twin Arches Loop!), and Yahoo Falls/Arch. We also went to Lillypad Hopyard Brewery which is THE coolest brewery you’ll ever go to. These were all suggestions from Scott and Kristin, and they were amazing! RaeZack’s is a great place to eat, and Lillypad (which is in Lancing, TN) also has “The Sauced Frog” that has GREAT BBQ! But as they have in their house manual, Oneida doesn’t have a ton of food options, so if you’re there for more than a few days, I’d recommend bringing some groceries because there is a kitchen, we just weren’t there long enough to use it. Scott and Kristin are both so friendly and accommodating. They were unbelievably kind for the short time I saw them upon arrival, and always responded quickly before and during our stay! Scott initially offered for us to hangout by the fire pit that’s in between their home and the cabin on our second night there, but my girlfriend and I didn’t make it back until around 11 PM. I genuinely hope I make it back there some day to continue exploring all there is (and to hangout with Scott and Kristin). I would 12/10 recommend staying here if you’re wanting to stay at a really cool place and wanting to check out BSF or anywhere around the TN/KY line!!”
