Monthly Rentals in Windermere Island

We had a great time on Martins boat. It's a very unique experience. His whole family were very welcoming. The sound is so beautiful and there are endless beaches to explore. We got to kiteboard with him in the sound and he gave us tips of other good spots too. The boat is older, but it was very clean. Plus there were all the things you need to cook, like pots, pans, oil and spices which was a nice extra! They also provide kitchen towels, dish soap and bath towels. You want to bring luggage that is water resistant as you will be paddling across to the boat and things get splashed. You will also be paddling across to take showers. We had a lantern and head lamp that we brought that was very useful. You can expect to see so many stars and turtles and a small shark or two and if you are lucky the cute tree frog will still be in the shower room :)

My wife and I stayed at the Blue Turtle Cottage for a week and we loved the place! It is such a private and beautiful location and the cottage was a perfect size for us with all of the amenities we would need. We watched the sunrise over the water every morning in the Adirondack chairs, walk down the beach nearly every day, and after all of the sight seeing around the island I think we found that Double Bay Beach (just a 3-5 min walk along the sand, or 5 min drive) might be the best beach on the island! The host, Linda, was very responsive, provided clear instructions, and also gave many useful tips as this was our first time anywhere in the Caribbean, let alone Eleuthera. Even after a minor incident of accidental damage, she was very understanding and helpful to get it resolved quickly and kindly :) Thank you Linda! Some advice: shop at Island Farm market (10 min), go to Spanish Wells beach, get to the airport 2-3 hrs early for your departure (we went through ELH).
