The Appi Kogen Ski Resort can be reached in 20-30 minutes in summer and 30-40 minutes in winter (about 18 km). Dragon Eye can be accessed in about 30 minutes from the parking area at Miodori Pass. Regarding vehicles, since this is a snowy area, we recommend that you come with a 4WD vehicle when using it in winter for skiing, snowboarding, etc. For two-wheel drive and FF vehicles, depending on the model, it may be better to bring chains, so if you are concerned, please contact us in advance. We do not recommend two-wheel drive or FR vehicles, but please be sure to bring chains. When towing, etc. in the parking lot, please contact the JAF, etc. yourself.

The strolling garden across the street, just a one-minute walk away, is said to have been called the “Oyakuen” because it was used to grow medicinal herbs for Morioka Castle. Located just before that, this house displays a sign that reads “御薬園前—Oyakuenmae—” and began offering private lodging in April 2026. We have renovated this 50-year-old building into a space that blends the old with the new. Based on the concept of a home away from home where you can enjoy Iwate as if you lived here and want to come back again and again, we will do our utmost to help make your stay a heartwarming experience.
