“This is a lovely little cottage located quietly on the edge of the shore. The setting sun streams through the windows in the evening. Very comfortable with all the facilities you would need for a relaxing base to visit Benbecula and the Uists. Lovely hotel nearby for evening meal. Would recommend.”

“This is an ideal place to stay on Uist. The space is really generous, modern, warm and clean - which is a nice juxtaposition with the rugged elements of the Isles! Morag was very welcoming on arrival and had left lots of little extras you don't usually get elsewhere. When I come back this will be the first listing I look for!”
Built around 1850, the house has been in my husband's family since. We only started to share it last year and have had great reviews and enjoyed having guests. The house sits above a rocky bay with views of Loch Shielavaig and Hecla. We hope you love it as much as we do. The area is ideal for anyone with a love of peace and quiet and outdoor pursuits. Walking, fishing, bird watching, photography or just escaping from the city. Fishing licences can be obtained locally. See "things to note"
“Rhonda's house is a Croft house on the edge of a loch about 15 minutes from the main road. The location is ideal for strolls from the house and the kitchen window is a great spot for bird watching (and presumably otters, but we have not seen them). Rhonda is a very attentive host, with whom we were able to communicate very well before our arrival (she warned us that phone coverage was low and the internet went bad, told us where to shop, told us how to get there, etc. ). Once at home, there is a HomeBook where everything is explained: recommendations for the house, walks to do, sites to visit, etc. And then the house has a nice collection of DVDs and many books on the history of the island, what to occupy his evenings (or days of bad weather). One regret, not having met Rhonda.”
