Beautifully restored Pre-Famine cottage. Listed on The Financial Times as a tranquil escape from the bustle of modern life. Rural setting surrounded by lacy stone walls, secluded gardens, and still on the outskirts of the cultural city of Galway.
“This is a unique place to stay that you will remember as a highlight of your trip. The host is friendly, quick to respond and goes out of his way to make you comfortable. He even baked a tasty loaf of gluten free bread for me. The cottage itself is exceptionally cozy and charming. Our visit coincided with miserable weather but that just added to the allure of sitting by the fire with a good book. In fact, the only downside of staying here is that you might not want to venture out to sightsee. The cottage is also located outside of town in a beautiful "secret" garden, so you have to drive to restaurants. That was only a small minus given the peaceful setting. The pictures can't possibly capture the quaintness of the place.”
Bright and spacious ensuite studio with shower and cooking facilities.Private patio with views of Lough Corrib and mountains, free secure parking and private entrance. Only 4 km to city centre and Galway Racecourse. Sleeps 1-3. Comfortable double and a sofa bed.
“Absolutely loved Breda's place, so cute and comfortable, has everything you could want, very comfortable bed, lovely outdoor patio area looking across at the shores of Lough Corrib, beautiful, Breda and her husband are really lovely people they even left milk in the fridge, biscuits to eat, toiletries in bathroom, even an iron and hairdryer are provided, really warm and cosy, we could actually live there full time, we will be back, thank you”

Many of Galway's best restaurants and cafes are in the area, all doing take away menus until they reopen. Take away pints are available around the corner too! Supermarket and Spanish Arch 5 min walk. Salthill 15 min.
“Rebecca’s place was so nice, big and newly remodeled! She had everything we needing including a hair dryer, straightener and curling iron!! A real luxury on this trip. Not that the straight hair lasted long 😂. Also a washer/dryer combo. A few things we especially enjoyed about the area: the Galway west end is a lively area with many choices for dining. Crane’s pub is a wonderful local pub where we were treated to live traditional Irish music. We also enjoyed having a yoga studio right around the corner. However, the “family room” is big enough to do yoga. Rebecca has a nice big ROKU smart TV good for watching Netflix and other streaming services. Anyway, we highly recommend this place!”
