Monthly Rentals in Ballard Upper, Shillelagh

Perfect cottage full of charm and character nestled in a peaceful Wicklow countryside village location . A photographer's/ artist's paradise with spectacular views or indeed a super spot for some rest and relaxation . We stayed for a albeit too brief two night stay and as the cottage is dog friendly we were delighted to be able to bring our Border Collie. Peter personally welcomed us on arrival and also provided us with a welcome pack of various local foods and indeed an amazing homemade wheaten bread just fresh from his oven. We were totally blown away with his kindness and generosity as he had even included treats for our dog. Peters attention to detail is evident throughout the whole cottage experience from providing tealights and lighters; ecologs for the heart warming stove; to the electric blankets on pristine white bed linen . I had a fantastic stay! The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the place was peaceful and private. There was so much to do nearby, and I loved that the Wicklow Mountains were just a short drive away with great hiking paths. Highly recommend this gem for a relaxing and active getaway!

Ken was a fantastic host, the house, the character, the attention to detail, surroundings and location are stunning. I can’t rate this place highly enough. Thank you Ken for this amazing privilege and for helping my family and I enjoy such a special and memorable weekend in this beautiful and very memorable home.

Martina’s place was lovely. The guest house was spotless, cozy, and the garden is magical. Martina had several recommendations for pubs and something to eat late at night. Highly recommend and would love to visit again!
