Diddylake shepherd huts are totally idyllic. We went for a mid winter minimoon and Jackson left us a congratulatory bottle of fizz and a lovely card to welcome us. His mum dropped by with more wood for the burner and it was generally a wonderful stay. Very cosy even with a storm raging outside. Bring earplugs as rain on the tin roof can be noisy but otherwise picture perfect. Highly recommend!

We had the most wonderful stay at Ladydown Cottage! Mick and Janine were incredibly helpful and thoughtful hosts, staying in contact and providing all the information we needed before and during our visit. After a long 5-hour drive, we arrived at 4 am to find the cottage beautifully warm and welcoming, with lights and heating already on – such a considerate touch that made all the difference. The cottage itself is cozy and charming, and the hosts went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The detailed guide they left for local places to eat and visit was spot-on – the food recommendations were some of the best meals we’ve ever had! Lower Bradford Farmhouse was the perfect spot for our long weekend getaway! The spacious home easily accommodated me, my friends, and our dog. Set in a peaceful location, we enjoyed the sounds of birds and nearby farm animals in the garden. The water features and sculptures were beautiful, and we even spotted frogs in the pond! The cozy cabin nestled among mature trees was well-stocked with firewood and had clear instructions for lighting the fire. The farmhouse’s kitchen/dining area was perfect for our group, with plenty of cooking space using the hob and Aga. The bedrooms were spacious with extremely comfortable beds and pillows, and everyone commented on how well we slept. Bathrooms are on the first floor, which might be a consideration for those with accessibility needs. After hiking, the luxurious roll-top bath was perfect for relaxing, and fresh towels were provided. Wendy was a great host, keeping in touch to ensure everything was perfect. The luxury hamper was a lovely touch :)
