The Shepherd's Hut is a really unique place to stay and a fantastic experience. It's clean, beautifully decorated and well kitted out. It's surroundings of a private patio and pond are idyllic - Grant (August '18) Hut in the Hollow provided a sweet little slice of tranquility, among the wildlife. High quality and comfortable in the hut. The patio/garden area with the pond is great for eating out on at breakfast and sitting looking at the stars at night. Very impressed - Kerry (August '18)
“The hut really is a peaceful escape with all the advantages of the city and beaches near. We took advantage of both, we bought our dog with us and she tucked perfectly under the bed! Durham city was really dog friendly. The facilities and special touches that Richard had added to the hut were just gorgeous, it is warm, cute and homely. Thank you Richard.”

“Julie is what we can call a perfect host. She is a so welcoming and helpful person : she did so much for my father and I! I will definitely remember her all my life, and I hope we should visit her again. Her house is really lovely and clean, as is the room. I personally completely love the wallpaper of the room! Bonus : the dog, Luna, is the cutest dog I've ever seen!”

“Really nice little cottage, down a tiny side lane (parking is close by on the main road through the village, but this never caused us a problem). It's a small cottage but the space has been used really well - for two people it was plenty spacious enough and I think it would still be fine with more. Sitting room is cosy and warm on dark winter nights, the bedrooms are comfortable and everything was set up really nicely, including a little hamper of food as a welcome. We cooked our own breakfasts/dinners every day - the kitchen is pretty well-equipped and everything just worked. Spent a really nice long weekend here in November, would happily come back if spending time in the area again.”
