Designed to connect with the natural systems of a special place, Chertecho sits among the trees on a 5-acre rocky slope overlooking the Pedernales River Valley. An outdoor stair system connects the three levels - a covered rooftop deck; a second-floor master suite; and a ground floor kitchen space. Glass walls open to the wooded slopes of Big Hill, a ridge separating the Pedernales and Guadalupe watersheds halfway between Comfort and Fredericksburg. A place to unplug, and reconnect.

Enjoy the sunrise on the front porch or the sunset on the back porch while relaxing to the sights and sounds of nature. Take a step back in time and enjoy relics of the past in my cottage. Spend your time relaxing, playing games or swimming in the heated cowboy pool (which is a 10 foot stock tank) in the common leisure corral. Visit the 12 wineries, brewery or two distilleries that are within one and a half miles of Oak Haus. Fredericksburg is just a short drive away.

Just minutes away from shopping, dining, and local attractions but still far enough away from the bustle to relax. Our cabin is built on our active sheep farm. We have Barbado sheep, Ally the llama, Miss Piggy our potbelly pig, and Duke the guard dog. We, the owners are always on-site to help make your stay an enjoyable one.

This cabin is located on 26 acre ranch on a beautiful hilltop about 6 miles outside of Fredericksburg. We have 2 horses and 3 donkeys that guests can pet. Our guests love the fabulous views and sunsets, the quiet serenity, and the well thought out cabin amenities. We look forward to hosting you at the ranch!
