Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Carlow

Eileen’s place was perfect for what we wanted. The food she left for us was very generous, more so than any other airbnb property we have ever stayed in and made us feel very welcome. The beds were very comfortable and the property was nice and warm. Useful having two showers with 5 of us staying in the property. There was everything that we needed for the couple of days. Although we never met Eileen her husband and other family members were really helpful & responsive. We have family in the area and would be more than happy to stay in Eileen’s property again.

Brendan was an amazing host and did everything in his power to help myself and my friends. We really appreciate all he did for us. The place was spotless and felt homely. Couldn’t recommend a better a place than here.

The accommodation was superb and had everything we needed. Plenty of space and a lovely peaceful location. A wonderful weekend!

This was our second stay at Turrock Cottage and it definitely won't be our last. Even on a somewhat grey and drizzly day, the fully stocked fire place made it lovely and cozy. The surroundings are so picturesque and Ciaran and Deirdre couldn't be lovelier. Such attention to detail with a basketful of extra facecloths and towels, electric blankets, dvds and games, fresh eggs and bananas to hand feed the resident peacock. The donkey and chickens and ducks and geese and dog and cat are so fun to see and interact with and the local area has tons to do. The kids loved it so much the youngest cried when we left. A great place to stay and spend time with friends and family. Thanks to Josie for hosting us and for maintaining such a lovely place. We enjoyed staying there every bit of it - clean and large house with quality furniture, a fully equipped kitchen and large lawn. All in all a great place to spend time away from cities and towns - at the same time everything you need a 10 min drive away.

Had such a lovely stay in Marie’s place. In beautiful surroundings, peaceful yet within very easy distance of the lovely village of Graiguenamanagh and Kilkenny town, with lots of places to explore nearby. The cottage itself had every comfort. We arrived to a lovely cosy lit stove and Marie was such a welcoming host, gave lots of recommendations and even checked in advance to see if a local restaurant was opened for us to eat there. We really appreciated it. Beds super comfortable and cosy, had the best sleep! Really looking forward to coming back to explore more of the area and to stay here again. We were staying in this house 4th times and every time we are happy to come back. In the apartment everything as on the photos, always cleaned, beautiful view to the mountains, the owner doesn’t disturb you. You could relax and enjoy your trip. Thanks, Carolina

This is an old town house which was a former family home, so its just like a home from home. Its not a five star hotel or guest house but then neither is our own home place and we are perfectly happy there just as we were in this house for our weekend in Graiguenamanagh. Lorraine could not have been more helpful. - Answering any questions we had before booking - Meeting at a time that suited us to hand over keys and explain the running of the house and what was available locally. - Stocking up with Tea, Coffee, Milk, Bread, Jam and Biscuits. - Being at the end of the phone over the weekend to recommend restaurants etc. Grainuenamanagh Our first time and we were all blown away by the beauty of the area. Beautiful towns and villages of character. Indeed 2 minutes from the house there is access to miles upon miles of paradise for any runner or walker in the form of the Barrow way. Why is this area not promoted more from a tourism perspective? If your looking for a place to hide away watching TV on a 40" screen this is not the place for you. However if it a nice home to lay your head after days exploring the beauty of this area then it ticks the boxes. We will be back

Breda and Joe’s farmhouse apartment was good value and just what we were looking for after a few days in busy Dublin - a peaceful stay in the countryside. They provided everything we needed in a very cosy, well-appointed cottage setting. The homemade bread and scones were a treat. It was an “escape to the countryside” but only 30 minutes drive from Kilkenny. Would definitely stay again.

In the historic center of Muin Bheag, this apartment stay was terrific. It’s private, spacious, and clean. The town restaurants are easily walkable.

we had stayed for one night in this beautiful home and It was a great stay we ever had.The home is very beautiful, neat, organized well and feels very comfy and relaxed.Christine is very friendly and a responsible Host.She is very approachable and helpful and care you as a family member.She drop off me to the railway station and even after I forgot to handover the keys ,she drove back to station without any hesitation,she is such a kind hearted woman.If you are looking for a wonderful calm and relaxed stay, Don't think more,this is the perfect one.We will surely comeback again. Fab apartment, was attending a friend's 50th locally. was well situated and had everything needed for our stay. will definitely look to book again next time we are visiting.

Shankill Castle is like staying in living medieval castle with the most gracious of hosts. I cannot thank them enough for making us feel at home. I highly recommend for an u forgettable intellectual and artistic experience. We wish we had more time there to enjoy everything they have to offer!

The hosts are very welcoming and on hand when needed. The accommodation is in a great location with plenty of outside space as well as plenty of room inside for the six of us. Everywhere was clean and well presented and provided everything we wanted. The only slightly negative issue was, because of the country location, the internet connection wasn’t always reliable but I would still happily book another holiday at Coolanowle.

I booked Aisling’s place for a work trip, Aisling was a very helpful host and always responsive. The accommodation was in a great location and was very clean and comfortable

Sheona's apartment wqs immaculate, very comfortable. Sheona is very conscientious of all needs of her guests. The apartment is located in an excellent spot for walking to all amenities including various river walks. Playground nearby for children. Excellent communication. Beautiful spot. Would highly recommend
