The Tower, Thornton Castle

Traditional & relaxed accommodation in the 16th century Scottish tower of our family home. Accessed by a spiral staircase your space comprises 2 bedrooms for 4 people over two floors in a private wing of the castle with bathroom and small sitting room. Full breakfast included. Set in the foothills of the Cairngorm National Park, this is an ideal stop off between Inverness and Edinburgh. Balmoral Castle, Dunnottar Castle, Glamis Castle and St Andrews are nearby. Tennis court available.

Comfortable, dog-friendly steading conversion

Coshelly Steading is on the edge of Rothienorman, a village with a pub, a Chinese, an excellent Morrisons Daily shop and a Zero Waste shop, all about 10 minutes walk from the house. It is a newly converted steading, attached to our house and surrounded by fields. Plenty of parking, WiFi, TV etc. Dogs are welcome. There are mountains, the coast and many castles, all within easy driving distance and plenty of pleasant walks nearby. Free range eggs from our chickens, when they are in the mood.

'Muggans' (named after the Mugwort that grows by the steps) is entirely off-grid and has everything you'll need for a comfortable and memorable getaway, including a wood burning stove to keep you cozy, a wood fired hot tub to soak in under the stars and pizza oven for luxury campfire cooking.

Enjoy the beautiful, ever-changing views from your coastal town hideaway over Banff harbour and bay and across to Macduff. Chill out on the windowseat and just watch the waves roll in. My unusual holiday home is part of the unique Bridge House built over the River Ardle in k1881. It has recently been renovated to a warm and cosy standard! Charming original features including stone spiral stairs, traditional Scottish timber clad walls, brick and pine flooring. All mod cons including wifi & smart TV. Quiet, peaceful and rural location. Just 6 miles from Ballater, and in the Cairngorms National Park, the Muir of Dinnet Nature Reserve is on our doorstep with walks and cycle routes. Close by is Tarland Trails 2 mtb centre. The Bothy

'The Bothy', a space to escape the bustle - set in private gardens and with scope to explore our meadow, small woodland and wildlife pond. The Bothy is laid out as studio style accomodation with a double bed, small kitchen area and a separate shower room, with porta potty style facilities! If you time your visit right (seasonal) guests are welcome to pick their own raspberries, blackcurrants, or apples. Other home-grown produce may be available. Bedding and towels provided.
