A quiet, end-terrace cottage in Huntly, off the main streets but in easy walking distance to the train station and town centre. The cosy living room is fitted with an efficient log burning stove, and you will find a basket of wood on your arrival. The kitchen is located at the back of the building with access to a small, enclosed garden perfect for a slow breakfast in the sun or an evening drink on the lawn. Old Mains Cottage is a traditional character dwelling that has been extensively modernised. Originally it was the laundry of the mansion house that once stood in the adjacent woods. The Tower, Thornton Castle

Accessed by a spiral staircase your space comprises 2 bedrooms for 4 people over two floors in a private wing of the castle with bathroom and small sitting room. Full breakfast included. 'Muggans' (named after the Mugwort that grows by the steps) is entirely off-grid and has everything you'll need for a comfortable and memorable getaway, including a wood burning stove to keep you cozy, a wood fired hot tub to soak in under the stars and pizza oven for luxury campfire cooking.

The Farm Bothy cottage offers luxury accommodation on a working sheep farm. It is self-contained, within a modern steading/barn conversion. We live in the other wing of the house. You can explore the farm, woodlands and our garden. Ideally located for visiting nearby castles and distilleries the area also has great cycling, golfing, fishing and horse-riding. Our local pub is a mile away. The nearest town, Alford, has a pub, restaurant, shops, supermarket, parks and museums.

Alimar, a charming house in the centre of Huntly

Delightful bungalow set in a quiet conservation area. Five minute walk to local shops. Two spacious double bedrooms, two single bedrooms, family bathroom and separate shower room with WC. Fully fitted, well equipped kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher and microwave. Spacious lounge with comfortable sofas, TV and dining table seating six. Central heating throughout. Private rear garden with access to a quaint and well equipped summer house with lighting, sofa & chairs.

Coshelly Steading is on the edge of Rothienorman, a village with a pub, a Chinese and an excellent Morrisons Daily shop, all about 10 minutes walk from the house. It is a newly converted steading, attached to our house and surrounded by fields. Plenty of parking, WiFi, TV etc. Dogs are welcome. There are mountains, the coast and many castles, all within easy driving distance and plenty of pleasant walks nearby. Free range eggs from our chickens, when they are in the mood.
