“Had a great time at Jay and Nadine’s place. Situated right in between Negril and Lucea so was very easy to find a taxi at anytime to get to and from there place. Miss Milly offered daily breakfast for $300 JAD, basically $3 Canadian and was different each day and really good. She also kept us stocked with towels and toiletries. We, had access to a private beach when we wanted to avoid the Negril busy beaches. I would definitely stay again.”
Little Bird is located on High Cove property, nestled on a pristine swimming cove on the famous West End. There are 2 other cottages on the property that can be rented separately, or jointly with Little Bird for groups of up to 14. A stone's throw away from the world-renowned Rick's Cafe, amazing African drummers on Saturday nights, restaurants/watering holes, and has incredible sunsets. 10mins drive to Negril's vibrant Seven Mile Beach. You can also unplug for a secluded or romantic getaway.
“Just wow! If you have found this place and the dates are still open, stop looking and book it now. You won't regret it. We found spending time at the Cove to be the best part of our trip by far (and we wandered around to 7 Mile Beach, many restaurants, etc.). The solitude, the scenery, and the adventure that Bertram's place provides is amazing. Pro tip, all of Bertram's homes are on the same lot so you can book the whole thing for a larger family and friends trip. ALSO: no need to cancel this because of COVID-19 right now. It provides a rather private experience compared to the beach up the road. Everything else has already been said in other reviews, otherwise I could write several paragraphs about how awesome this place is.”
This charming rustic wooden cabin is situated on the coral rocks just steps from the crystal clear Caribbean waters edge. Located in pristine Cousins Cove, a beautiful quiet fishing village away from the tourist traps. Here you can spend your days snorkeling, swimming, fishing, or taking a boat tour on the local fishing canoes, lazing in the hammock, chillin out in the "Cool Pool", sipping a rum (or two!) playing dominoes yet all within 15 minutes of Negril's 7 mile beach.
“We came back to the state raving about this little cottage in Cousins Cove. Everything about our stay here was beyond perfect and unique. We spent a week doing construction work in Ocho Rios and wanted to spend a couple days in seclusion before we headed back home to New York State. We got to meet Julie's husband Nigel, who drove us to the cottage, and is so much fun and so knowledgeable in the Jamaican culture and history. The cottage is cute and quaint with an AMAZING view, we pulled the lawn chairs up to the water front every morning to just bask in the beauty. The caretaker/neighbor Morris is amazing, we had great conversations. We are happy to have asked for a Rasta Ital meal the first night and as simple as the dish was, it was so delicious. Literally, everything about the place is exactly as listed and described, but BETTER because you can't beat the experience of seeing a REAL side of Jamaica. Just walking to Byrons' Bar and sitting and people watching was fun in itself. We did get a ride from Morris one day to Negril which is beautiful and relaxing, and they have wifi, but we were ready to part from the tourism and get back to the cottage. We hope to come back again and to direct our friends/family to this place (and any other listings Julie has) just because of the wonderful hospitality.”
