Beachfront vacation rentals in Grotto Bay

We booked a last minute getaway to Jacobs Bay to escape some construction in our neighbourhood in Cape Town and WOW - we couldn't have picked a better place. The house is perfectly situated to block the wind so even on the windy days we were able to lay in the sun and enjoy the gorgeous views. We brought our 2 dogs and they had the time of their lives playing in the sand dunes and running on the beach. We stayed for 3 nights and we only saw a handful of people on the beach during our entire stay - what a wonderful change of pace from Cape Town during these warmer months. We will definitely be back!!

We loved our stay in this beach cottage which was really well kitted out with everything needed to settle in, and even more than expected. The position right on the beach was gorgeous and it was a quick trip to the shop. The position is also convenient to explore the different towns in the area. We stayed for 5 nights and every day we did different activities in different towns.

All I can say is that what you see in the pictures is what you get. Perfection. Seems brand new. The views are out of this world. The steps are worth it! We cannot believe how gorgeous this place is. Pure heaven.

The Lobster Pot was everything we expected - a rustic wooden home perched above the rugged shoreline and crashing waves of False Bay. An absolutely stunning location. Top the location off with a cozy three bed interior, comfortable beds, easy-to-use shower and kitchen, and there is little more we could ask for. Sue herself was a stellar host, kind and friendly, proactive up to check-in, and available if needed during our stay. We felt honored to stay here for our short stay, and look forward to a second chance one day in the near future.

From the time you arrive at this beautiful location, you relax. The views are spectacular and the house is spacious and comfortable with everything you need. The fireplace inside was a big plus and treat especially during load-shedding. It is walking distance from everything and just absolutely serene.

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the beautiful interior design—every detail was carefully curated, creating a space that felt both luxurious and inviting. The combination of modern elegance and cozy charm made it the perfect home away from home. One of the highlights was undoubtedly the incredible sea views. Waking up to the sound of waves and a breathtaking panorama was an experience we'll never forget. We spent countless hours on the terrace, soaking in the tranquility of the setting. It was truly a peaceful oasis, allowing us to unwind and reconnect with nature. The house was fully equipped with everything we could possibly need, from kitchen essentials to beach gear. It really felt like the owners thought of everything to ensure a comfortable stay. We were able to cook some lovely meals and enjoy them while gazing out at the horizon. Communication with our host was excellent throughout our entire stay

We spontaneously stayed one night at Kyle's beach house and wished we could have stayed longer! One day was as restful as three. We all three slept deeply and soundly, the sound of the sea in the background. In the morning, jog right outside the door on the beach and then run into the sea, a dream! The sun is on the terrace in the morning and we could have coffee and start the day relaxed. It was beautiful! We will be happy to come back. :) Thanks!

We had such a great stay at Die Werf! The house is comfortable and spacious with everything you need. Indoor braai was great for the chilly evenings, and the view upstairs was something special. Cant wait for our next visit!

We stayed at this lovely place for two weeks and felt at home immediately. Very spacious and cozy 2-bdr/2bath with spectacular views and sounds of the ocean just across the road from the beach. Very convenient underground parking; supermarkets, stores, restaurants either in walking distance (or easy 5min drive). Cape Town only 30min away. James and his family were the most wonderful hosts we've ever had, extremely friendly and helpful at all times. We'll definitely be back soon! Thank you so much for these unforgettable memories.

An absolutely gorgeous house right on the beach. Everything was perfect - the sound of the waves crashing at night, the warm swimming pool and comfy beds, and last but not least the gorgeous views. Would highly recommend; Allen was a great host and we were looked after very well by Amos every day too.

Absolutely dreamy, beach house perfection. From the mountain views to the pristine pool to the gorgeous furnishings, everything was excellent. Highly recommended without hesitation.

We had a wonderful stay at Dune Rose. The house is in a stunning position right on the beach with magnificent views of the ocean and beautiful wild beach to both left and right. We were grateful to find a home that was dog friendly and beautiful at the same time! Roselene was a huge boon and so friendly and helpful, coming to clean the house three times a week. Yzerfontein has everything you need. We highly recommend a visit to !Kwa Tthu nearby and booking a talk (we did The Way of the San). Excellent lunch in the restaurant afterwards! Rosemead bakery and the Beach House restaurant and Yzerfontein are recommended. An excellent Spar has everything you need and Dassen Seafoods is a great place to buy fresh seafood. Ingrid and Anton are responsive hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. A great stay in a gorgeous location, thank you!

It was such a nice space to stay for our wedding weekend. The most comfortable beds.

A stunning, spacious house in a prime location with a breathtaking view you could admire forever. The amenities leave nothing to be desired. Communication with Stan was effortless – he responds quickly, communicates proactively, and provided valuable tips that made our stay even more enjoyable. A perfect experience!

Such a special house.. we were mesmerised. We want to come back and stay for a few weeks to really enjoy the house. Just right at the beach. You can walk to clifton 1,2,4. Get a massage at the beach, enjoy the hot pool after a shock dip in the Altantic ocean.. There is security walking day and night around the beaches, making you feel so comfortable.. Beds were really comfy, we fell asleep at the patio beds under the moonlight.. It was magical. Francis who works with David helped us tremendously with our luggage and check in check out, he is so lovely.. All 6 friends left the house dreaming of owning a place like that one day..

We absolutely loved this place! The interior was stunning, the views from the roof amazing, the beach was perfect to spend days with kids and we really enjoyed having a casual but good restaurant right next door, went there occasionally for breakfast, lunch and dinner but also enjoyed the very well equipped kitchen.

My family and I absolutely loved staying in TJ's pristine and quirky house. Everything was clean, comfortable and inviting. The beautiful beach is within walking distance and the greater Kommetjie area is worth exploring.

This Airbnb, was so beautiful so nice very clean right on the beach. I would stay here again. The host is very nice and welcoming, and made us feel like we were at home.

Fantastic spot for a family getaway. Clutter free home right on a semi-private beach with kid friendly waters! Shallow and minimal tides (although windy!). Fantastic location, we’ll be back for sure.

What a beautiful weekend away! So peaceful being right on the beach. We were supposed to only be away for the weekend, but instead stayed an extra night because we just couldn’t leave 😅 The hosts and Costa were so attentive and helpful in creating a stunning getaway. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Such an amazing getaway!!! very peaceful and close to the beach. The host Uzaan warmly welcomed us and recommended wonderful places to visit. Uzaan made our stay extra special by proving my wife with a voucher for her birthday. She really went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. We will definitely be back longer as we loved every moment.

Absolutely stunning! The most beautiful Airbnb we’ve ever stayed at – truly the vacation home of our dreams. Huge thanks to Sabine for sharing this exceptional home with us. The house is spacious, bright, and incredibly comfortable, with an amazing location in a peaceful beachside neighborhood and ocean views from almost every room. Our only regret is not knowing how to surf to make the most of the spot! And the only minor drawback to an otherwise perfect stay was the jacuzzi temperature, which could have been a bit warmer. Highly recommended!

This place is a real gem. You can feel the warmth of a well loved but stylish family holiday house as soon as you enter. The layout is perfect for 2 families (or one large family) where everyone can spend time together in the communal area but also have privacy when they need. Our kids loved playing on the big rock in the garden and had hours of fun with the pebbles. The house was easy to keep clean and literally had everything we needed. Thank you for having us Uys and family! We’ll be back for sure.
