Cottage vacation rentals in Honshu

My partner and I spent a lovely couple of nights with our dog. The place itself is tucked away on a hill, surrounded by trees, with a slight view of the sea from the main living area. It makes for a very peaceful and relaxing weekend getaway from busy Tokyo. The home itself is fully stocked with anything you could need. It has a very interesting design with several levels, making for an interesting layout. The outdoor space is great, including the BBQ and hot tub. The only feature we did not get a chance to use (due to the warmer season) is the fireplace. We look forward to coming back and experiencing the fireplace as well. Akiko was a fantastic host, proactively ensuring that we had everything we needed. Thank you Akiko for hosting us!

They were very kind to explain the facility and introduce the surrounding area.The facilities were also very clean and the view was great. I would like to stay again.

We had such a lovely time at the guest house. Cielétoile drove us around and showed us lots of great local spots!! The guest house was very cozy and had everything we needed. Our host was very responsive and happy to help with anything we needed!

The jacuzzi outside is open, but I think women are concerned about their surroundings. Bathing suits are necessary to have unminded enjoyment.The room was also easy to use and had everything we needed. Cars with low height can be parked right under the property.(I can't go up the hill) Cars that are not low in height will be parked on the premises! The bath and kitchen are very good🛁 *. It was very fun to bake and eat what I bought in nearby Bayesia!

Great house for me and my 6 friends. Walking distance to the town, roughly 10 minutes Rubbish was always grabbed if put in the outside bin. Great communication Host come and cleaned house half way through our stay and also restocked towels and kitchen

Alex and Rie are kind and considerate hosts and Thunderbird Cottage is a great base for skiing around Hakuba with a family / group. The car with ski rack is a big advantage for getting around to ski resorts and restaurants / shops. The cottage and car together are good value if you are looking for a peaceful environment that’s close to everything you need. Alex and Rie provided very helpful info that assisted our plans in and around Hakuba.

The bath and rooms were very clean. I enjoyed the BBQ, sauna, and everything.

Ryota and Katrina are fantastic hosts. They went above and beyond- picked us up from the train station and took us to catch the bus when we left. They gave great local recommendations and even helped me figure out the trains to get there. It is a quiet surf town right on the water with a very relaxed vibe- a great place to retreat after an urban experience in Tokyo. The view, deck and hot tub overlooking the sea are amazing as is seeing the ocean from all points inside. We had some good down time and recovered for the next leg of our trip. This place is great for nature lovers, surfers and people looking for a break. Also, it is so well provisioned and supplied, with amazing bath products, some spices and kitchen stuff and exactly what you need in the kitchen. And Ryota and Katrina are such amazing hosts which also contributes to a great experience.

The sea view and sunset from the second floor were amazing. The room was also very beautiful, and I am very satisfied.

I stayed for two nights and three days with a pet.Unfortunately it was raining on the first day, but there was a hot plate and projector ready for us to enjoy indoors. The garden is very spacious, and I am very satisfied that my pet dog was able to run around. We would definitely like to stay again when visiting Katsuura.Thank you very much.

This place was so cute & homie! Perfect location for our 1 night stay in Kusatsu. The cottage came with everything you need from shampoo to condiments. The host was responsive and very accommodating! 10/10

Thank you. This time I had a main purpose, and I was looking for a place where I could sleep while making noise with my family, so it was a very helpful facility. It was nice to have the sea nearby and to be able to take a walk. I would like to consider it again when I go for the same purpose.

This is my first time coming to Japan, because two days I can meet the most lovely yumi and harufumi in haruya is the best experience of this trip, this house and the owner and all the people I meet are different, warm and sincere, you can feel it from their smile, and it is very fortunate to join their yoga activities, so I know new friends, by the way, and cute lily, this is amazing! The details of the house are more sensible of the level of care of yumi and farufumi, where you can hear the sound of stream water, the sound of the leaves wiggling, all kinds of insects chirping in the late night, really letting the time slow down, if there will be a chance I will bring my favorite person to come again!

The garden is larger than I thought and it's a private space The cottage was very clean and the ceiling was high, so I was able to relax! I was worried about having a BBQ because it was windy that day I got advice and changed it to yakiniku because there was a hot plate. Because the ventilation was good, there was no smell on clothes, etc. There are a lot of utensils, etc. We really enjoyed☺ it

It was a pleasant forest space, and I rested well in a well-equipped room.There are also bakeries, cafes, and Italian within walking distance, and a great location to walk to Safari Park.The kids were also very happy with the yogibo and toys in the room.The bath and kitchen were also easy to use, and we had a relaxing time like at home.

The house is spacious, beautiful, clean and cozy, and the location is incredible. I would highly recommend staying here, as it is good value for money as well!

The owner came in person and helped us check in, and we were very relieved to use the accommodation.The child enjoyed the loft on the second floor as a secret base. Mt. Fuji was beautiful from the entrance, and it was a great view. The barbecue we longed for was also made on the veranda, so we had a very full day.
