The strolling garden across the street, just a one-minute walk away, is said to have been called the “Oyakuen” because it was used to grow medicinal herbs for Morioka Castle. Located just before that, this house displays a sign that reads “御薬園前—Oyakuenmae—” and began offering private lodging in April 2026. We have renovated this 50-year-old building into a space that blends the old with the new. Based on the concept of a home away from home where you can enjoy Iwate as if you lived here and want to come back again and again, we will do our utmost to help make your stay a heartwarming experience.

This inn is located near the Nakatsu River, which flows through the centre of Morioka City. Why don't you get up early and go for a walk along the river? You can fish for ayu in the summer, witness the salmon run in the fall, and observe swans in the winter. The room is a blend of Japanese and Western styles, with half tatami mats and half hardwood flooring, and you will sleep on a bed. There is also a desk, so guests are welcome to use the space for workation, etc. You are also welcome to use the kitchen, so you can cook your own meals or even cook together with the host.
