“Clean, quiet, spacious place to relax. That had everything we needed. We were initially concerned about the road noise mentioned in the listing but we stayed for 4 days and it’s honestly barely noticeable The communication was great, instructions for arrival were detailed which led us straight there. The space was clean and everything looked fairly new. Cutlery and cups were spotless! There’s WiFi and a TV if you want to watch some DVD’s they have a large collection that you can borrow We have a dog and she had plenty of space to run around so she really enjoyed it and we really like the ability to bring our dog with us. The owners also put dog bags and bowls in the room which is a nice touch. Altogether we had a relaxing long weekend away and wouldn’t hesitate to return Thank you”

“This is a lovely accommodation which will not disappoint you. It is set out to feel very comfortable and has all the amenities that you could want, to add to that it is in a very quiet setting and relaxed atmosphere. Getting to the cottage was easy as the directions were very straightforward, and access into York via train was also easy and made for a stress free day out. The hosts made us feel extremely welcome and the added little extras at the cottage were very nice to make you feel welcomed. We visited local National Trust properties as well as York and this was a perfect location. Would highly recommend a stay.”
Hope Cottage is in a peaceful village in the perfect location to visit the many attractions North Yorkshire has to offer . Parking is available outside the cottage, and the train station is a mile away. Whixley has an excellent local pub The Anchor Inn , other local eating establishments are within easy driving distance.
“The cottage was really lovely, warm and cosy. Contact from the host was great. The property was very clean and the host went to the effort of providing some basics such as egg, milks and yoghurt. There was also tea, coffee and sugar provided. The only thing we didn't anticipate (although arguably we should have!) was the property was difficult to find at night (we arrived at around 8.30pm in December). The cottages are all named (no numbers) and there are no street lights. Everything else was perfect and it's a great location. Definitely recommend (but don't get there in the dark!).”
