This self contained holiday cottage offers a chance to get closer to the workings of a family dairy farm. It is situated in the North York Moors National Park, midway between the moors and the coast and just a fifteen minute drive (or slightly longer bus ride) from Whitby. The accomodation is unusually spacious for a one bedroomed cottage, it is light, warm and very well insulated but don’t forget there is the potential for noise and smells from the farm!
“The cottage was perfect. Plenty of room for the two of us but cosy at the same time. We were snuggly warm, with the underfloor heating being a real treat for tired feet after a day of walking. We also enjoyed being on a working farm especially being able to watch the cows. From the cottage we were able to explore both the coast and the moors, as well as going for walks and runs locally, without needing to get in the car. Despite the circumstances that COVID-19 brought, Barbara and Alan were thoughtful and welcoming hosts. We would recommend the cottage to anyone wanting a base from which to explore a beautiful part of the country or a hide away in which to relax and read.”

“A fantastic spot! This is a lovely location and brilliant value. The view out the back when the skies are clear are stunning - some of the best I’ve had in anywhere I’ve stayed. The house is very modern and well designed. The kitchen has all the amenities you would need. The living space is very cosy, with a fire, and comfy sofas. All open plan - the dining table has a beautiful view out the back of the house. All the rooms are a good size and very comfy beds. Plenty of space. The outdoor space really makes this special however, and is a fantastic spot to sit and view the countyside and the sea! The hosts were very helpful, responding quickly and offered local tips. They also left some essentials and few extra bits as a nice surprise on arrival. I can’t recommend it enough. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!”

“Would absolutely recommend! Margaret was a lovely host, quick to respond to messages and gave us a tour of the place on arrival. Property was exactly as shown in listing, and spotlessly clean. A great location for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors and coastline. We loved Runswick Bay!”
