Between fishes – our house on the lake in Finland

Our piece of land is located on Kaita Järvi– an about 8 km long and a few hundred meter wide lake – it is a small peninsula that looks to the south. That means: sun from morning to evening (if it shines). There right on the shore you find our log cabin, with sauna, bathroom, living room with open kitchen and two small bedrooms. A few meters next to it is a studio like guesthouse, the "Aita". It is also very cosy and comfortable, but provides no own bathroom. Village Savonranta is 5 km away.

For guests staying several nights during the heating season, in addition to electricity, there is oven heating. Wood is ready, guidance or heating if needed. Good road connections. Outokumpu is about 10 minutes away and Joensuu is about 30 minutes away. Koli is about an hour away and Valamo Monastery is about 30 minutes away by car. In addition, there is a dog cage outside with a small hut.

Basic principle was to have a place to calm down but also a house for remote work in home village. Place is pretty nice on top of the hill, scenery is wide almost all over ... tens of kilometers. Welcome to relax in the sauna room in our yard, by the lake! Even though a small, stylish sauna room is part of our inhabited yard, you'll find peace, nature, privacy, and lovely scenery here. The place is also great for working remotely! Lahti beach is shallow and great for children. Use a rowing boat and a paddleboard. Motorboat available for rent for fishing. Bring your own linens and towels. If needed, linens can be provided by the accommodation.

Enjoy the steam of a beach sauna in this modernly equipped cottage with the atmosphere of a traditional beach sauna. The cottage is just a few steps from the shore of a clear-water pond. From the dock you can swim after the sauna or try your luck at fishing. About 200 meters away, there are hiking trails and ski trails in winter. Lykynlammi's outdoor area with a frisbee golf course is about three kilometers away.

The house is part of an old farmyard. The finnish-german couple welcomes its guests the year round, for only one night or for longer stays. The farm and its surroundings offer plenty of activities. The farm hosts a model railway, a farm museum and an organic beekeeping with honey sale. You may book the farm sauna for your own use. Swimming at the lake on demand.
