Between fishes – our house on the lake in Finland

Our piece of land is located on Kaita Järvi– an about 8 km long and a few hundred meter wide lake – it is a small peninsula that looks to the south. That means: sun from morning to evening (if it shines). There right on the shore you find our log cabin, with sauna, bathroom, living room with open kitchen and two small bedrooms. A few meters next to it is a studio like guesthouse, the "Aita". It is also very cosy and comfortable, but provides no own bathroom. Village Savonranta is 5 km away.

Basic principle was to have a place to calm down but also a house for remote work in home village. Place is pretty nice on top of the hill, scenery is wide almost all over ... tens of kilometers. Check-in is hassle-free thanks to the key box. Beds for two in the bedroom are pre-made and the sofa bed gives an extra bed for a third. There's coffee, tea, spices, and more in the kitchen cabinets that are for our guests. In the summer, you can enjoy coffee from your own terrace!

The spark is atmospheric, a warm sauna cottage that was completed in 2015 by the small river. In the noise of the water you can relax in the sauna, barbeque, or in the flame of the outdoor fire. The cottage is located on a small sand road, in complete privacy. Koli National Park is about 30 min drive away, Höytiäinen beach is just over 2 km away. We have canoes for rent and lunch packages with local products available.
