“We had a wonderful time at Fiona & Rob's lodge. The location was amazing; in the middle of a forest but only an 8 minute drive to Westport. The bed was comfy and we arrived to bread, jam, butter and milk along with loads of condiments like tea, coffee, salt, pepper etc. There we also loads of touches like books, blankets, CD's and an arts and crafts cupboard. The fairy trail was lovely despite the rain, and our 5 year old loved the toys and hideaway bed in the attic! The highlights were watching the birds eating from bed and listening to records with a glass of wine near a lit fire. :-) I can't recommend this lodge enough for a nature getaway.”
An Tigín- a small but perfectly formed wooden cabin in the grounds of Old Rectory Retreat.Your writing desk looks through glass doors to its' cottage garden by the stream. It has full kitchen facilities. Living and sleeping areas are semi-separated.
“Just the kindest people, a perfect Irish welcome. Rósín is there when you need her, but also gives you the space and privacy you need as well. The cabin is very cute, and cozy even when it rains and blusters outside. There is an especially beautiful walk just out the door and I was allowed to borrow the dog for company which made it even better. Westport is of course a lovely town with anything you might need.”
The Annexe is surrounded by beautiful views of the mountain, rugged hills and the wild Atlantic Ocean. There are 2 village pubs within walking distance and one in particular, The Tavern, serves delicious food all day. (please note: there are no cooking facilities in the Annexe, but there is a recently installed mini fridge! A small microwave is available on request) This is a great place for couples and solo travellers alike.
“Helen was an amazing host and I enjoyed every bit of my stay at her beautiful property in the heart of Murrisk. The location is fantastic, only a five minute drive from the beautiful village of Lecanvey and the Croagh Patrick visitor centre. I was provided with comprehensive directions from the airport from the start and Helen's amazing hospitality made me feel completely at home. Helen's place is also a short walk from Murrisk Pier, which is a beautiful spot for walking or meditating. So, if you're looking for a nice break in a cosy, clean, comfortable and happy space then Helen's place comes highly recommended!”
