“This was my third stay at Laraine’s place and I had another brilliant 10 days there. The cottage is beautifully located and inside it has been prepared with great care and thought to ensure a completely relaxing, comfortable and very enjoyable stay. The walks from the cottage up to the hills or down to the sea are great and views ever changing and unforgettable. And so much to do in the area - Laraine provides all the information you will need to explore in full. I will find it hard to stay away in future!”
Our place is off the beaten path near the stunning Wild Atlantic Way route. Secluded and tranquil Mt Kid. 90 minutes from Cork Airport and 2 hours west of Cork city, 15 min fro Ballydehob. Surrounded by working farms on 4 acres; an oasis of trees and home to a variety of bird life. Comfy bed with quality bedding. Mt Kid Cottage is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families and pets. We don’t do breakfast as such but provide you with some breakfast items.
“This place is a gem, would not change a thing.. the location is beautiful and there is so much to do in the surrounding areas. the house is cosy and traditional downstairs but the bedroom is bright and has amazing views over the hills, The jacuzzi is fabulous especially under the stars and the twinkling tree lights, after a day exploring. We felt very at home here.. Patti and Chris could not have been more lovely, and also the two doggies and cows were great neighbours, doesn’t get much better then this! highly recommend!”
Our warm and welcoming cottage, boasts an original inglenook fireplace with solid fuel burning stove and exposed stone. The walls are at least one meter thick and the cottage predates the Irish famine.
“If you're looking for a quiet getaway from the city or just to disconnect for a while then this is your place. A cosy cottage with everything you need situated in an isolated part of West Cork, but with lots of things to do and see closeby such as a swim in Lough Hyne, a hike to the top of Knockomagh Wood, the Beacon at Baltimore and exploring the Crookhaven/Mizen peninsula. Aisling & Donagh were on hand for anything we needed, not that we did as the cottage has everything you could want to make your stay cosy from the super-comfortable bed to the open stove in the living room. Would highly recommend this cottage as a getaway for a couple or a small group of friends, we loved our stay!”
