“Carla was an amazing hostess and the house was even better than we imagined! We spent the night as we passed through town with our two young children. The house was spotless with everything we could need and more. Carla was very easy to get in touch with and responded quickly. Couldn’t recommend this beautiful home more!”
Nettles Nest is a rustic cabin nestled in the piney woods of northeast Texas in the small town of Redwater, just outside of Texarkana. It is located on a 5 acre lake. Popular activities include fishing, swimming, paddleboating, kayaking, relaxing on the deck or under the new pavilion. Bring the family. Kids love it here. Make some memories! Good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families , and furry friends (pets). No large groups.
“LOVED this gem. Bed was super comfortable, as were the pillows, and the shower was absolutely perfect for a couple of weary travelers moving across the country. The view from the deck can't be beat, especially in the morning. We didn't stay long enough to use all the amenities, but there was lots to do if we were there longer. Definitely recommend to anyone traveling through or needing an escape from the city. Great place to disconnect.”
Driving a little south of Texarkana (10 miles), brings you to a lovely little lake (Lake Davis), where you will find a quiet, cozy, and peaceful place to lay your head. It's more about a down home feel rather than an upscale, ultra modern place. I welcome travelers from all over the world who bring with them a piece (peace) from their world in which to share. You will feel like you are "coming home" when you stay here!
“My family and I got caught in the storm of our lives 11 miles outside of Texarkana. We could not see beyond the hood of the car. Arriving at Holly's was the greatest feeling and her warm personality helped us forget the storm. We really enjoyed the room and the history behind the cabin. The morning was very pleasant and our dog took full advantage of the property. I would stay here again.”
