Vacation rentals with lake access in Pelkosenniemi

Our stay at Tarja and Scott’s house was one of the best adventures of our lives. Even before the trip, they were very kind and helpful. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and had everything we needed. The house was cozy and warm, with plenty of firewood. There is also a beautiful kota near the house where we could cook on the fire and watch the northern lights. We were lucky to see the aurora five nights in a row. Scott also gave us great advice about hiking and kindly let us stay a bit longer on our last day. Before we left, we had a nice talk and learned more about his life. We will always remember this peaceful place by the lake and hope to return one day. :)

Amazing experience. The location is great for seeing auroras (we saw them!) and only half an hour from Rovaniemi. The lake is very beautiful. The cottage is very well equipped and cozy. The only issue we had was the door locks which are not intuitive. The host's communication was very good. I highly recommend this accommodation!

The cottage was perfect except that there is only one bathroom inside and far too far from rovaniemi ... if not, it's exotic and relaxing. We only see our steps on the snow and it is an incredible silence.. the stay went very well, the chalet is functional ( sauna and fire) and very well equipped. In addition, Henry is very kind and attentive. We had an emergency, he didn't hesitate to help us. A big thank you to him. An unforgettable stay.

We had an amazing time in Joona’s house. It is a quite and family friendly location. A supermarket is at a walking distance. We had everything we needed. Easy communication with the host. Thanks, Joona, for the hospitality.

The stay was amazing! Jyry was extremely helpful and responsive the entire time. The home was very clean and very nice. The surroundings were beautiful, and we got some great views of the northern lights from here. Was definitely worth it to stay here

Good location, nice ambient

The lodge of juan es very spacious. As seen in the advertisement, it is also very nice and perfectly equipped. The location is very good, 4 minutes walk from two supermarkets and a 6 minute drive to downtown. Juan was a 10 host, he helped us a lot in our stay and was very attentive.

The cottage is well located if you want to be alone. 8km from the nearest road. It's right by a lake. The communication with Johanna is great and very friendly. The place was clean. Easy to reach by car.

johanna's airbnb in the center of rovaniemi was the perfect accommodation for two girls exploration the city over a long weekend. johanna was very welcoming and helped us feel right at home in her place. it was spotless clean and included plenty of the amenities, including a dishwasher, stove, oven, washing machine and dryer, shower, hair dryer, and even a sauna! the private sauna in the bathroom was such a cool experience that we really enjoyed. the house manual included helpful instructions for using the finnish appliances. the beds were very comfortable and the apartment was quiet and cozy. the location is perfect - we were right near the grocery store, shopping mall, and all the restaurants in rovaniemi. it was really easy to walk to dinner every night and to shop during the day. it was also a short uber to the santa claus village. several location tourist agencies are nearby, so it was easy to get picked up for our northern lights and reindeer tours.

Amazing Stay! I had a wonderful experience staying at this flat. It's perfectly located, close to everything you could need. The flat itself was spotless, and it had everything I needed for a comfortable stay—such a thoughtful touch from the owner. Plus, it had a bidet, which was a great one! Morag, the owner, was incredibly kind and always available to answer my questions. She provided great solutions to any concerns I had and even kept us updated on the local weather. In short, Morag and the flat definitely deserve more than a 5-star rating!

We enjoyed very much the beautiful and peaceful surrounding. Very responsive host, had a little problem with the door, Ari came to help us in no time. Lovely place with a lot for the kids to do. Will definitely stay again when we come back.

Tidy and functional apartment! We found what was needed in the kitchen. The baby had their own bedding too:) Communication is really easy, I can recommend!

Everything was perfect, and I think this was the best Airbnb choice I have ever made. The location was amazing, and on the first day, we were really lucky—we saw the northern lights over the frozen lake, which was absolutely breathtaking. Communication with Merja was great, and the Airbnb was very comfortable, with everything we needed—except for the water boiler, which had a blackened interior due to frequent use. She brought us another one, but unfortunately, it was worse than the first. However, this wasn’t a problem since we could boil water in the kitchen, which worked quickly and efficiently. Overall, we were really satisfied with everything and would highly recommend it to everyone!

My spouse and I had a great stay on site whether it was the welcome by her very friendly husband, the quiet environment with the bonus, the squirrels and birds that came every morning in front of the window, the northern lights on the lake just behind. The only problem is maybe the bed a little small and the sauna that we were unable to operate, but that didn't stop us from having a very good time on site, the area is beautiful and quiet, we recommend the place and will be happy to come back! We had the pleasure of staying 4 days in this exceptional architectural oasis surrounded by stunning nature and overlooking the lake. We enjoyed the beautiful views from every room in the cabin—whether from the bed in the morning, the sauna, or during dinner. The cabin is quiet and located about 16 km from Rovaniemi, making it the perfect base for our daily excursions. We rented a car at the airport, which made exploring easy. Johannes has been an impeccable and incredibly pleasant host, always quick to respond and ready with great recommendations. Thank you for an amazing stay—your cabin has been central to our experience!

All I will say is wow!!! Everything we were hoping for and more, jenny has a little gem of a home and spectacular grounds on a reindeer farm. Jenny went above and beyond with information and help for us and we are so grateful as a family to her and her family for helping us create some ever lasting memories. Would be a dream to return xx

We had 3 very nice days in the cottage. It was wonderfully quiet and idyllic. We especially liked the sauna and the hot tub. The communication was very fast and uncomplicated. We would love to come back anytime.

Tainas and Taistos lovely little place is an amazing survival experience. We really enjoyed our retreat-like silent and peacefull visit. The cottages are small but if You are two people or even alone if You dare, outside and nature is the thing here. When the entertainment, buzyness, internet and restlessness is taken off your life for a while, You can deeply appriciate the silence and the nature and our origins once more.

Dear Johanna, we really enjoyed your cozy house by the lake. The house has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. The house is in a very idyllic location and we even had a visit from a reindeer. If we come to Lapland again, we will definitely stay in your house again. Thank you very much.

This log cabin in the woods by the side of a lake was absolutely magical. The pictures don't do it justice. there were sleds and snow shoes left outside and we had a wonderful time snowshoeing across the frozen lake. there is a plunge pool at the end of the garden but none of us were brave enough to try it! Olga was a lovely host and had everything including the hot tub ready for our arrival. It was lovely sitting in the tub at night looking up at the northern lights when it was -17 outside. The cabin was spotless and toasty warm. It's about 20 mins from Rukka and 30 from kussomo depending on the weather. a snow plough even came down the laneway to the house during our stay to clear it. The main roads were easy to drive on if you took your time. There's loads of activities to do near by, Santa's cottage, skiing, snowmobiles, husky and reindeer rides etc. we also spent 2 days in rov before our stay here and honestly this location is much better. I'm already planning our next trip!
