Cottage in nature with phenomenal views and terrace

Surrounded by the green hills and mountains of the South Ardeche, you will find this little paradise. In this cozy gite, you can enjoy the tranquility, the beautiful nature and the enchanting views. The three arched windows have recently been replaced by new, large windows. It now feels like you are sitting inside the view. In the morning you will be awakened by the bells of the sheep and the cheerful swallows. There is no rush here. A 10-minute drive to the Thermal Baths in Vals les Bains.

Formally a fortified castle “Fort de La Bastide “ was constructed on the site of a Roman military station. The earliest historical mention is 1417 and it's long history includes an invasion in 1584 by Protestants during the period of the Huguenot wars. The fort has maintained many original features including the old stone staircase at the front door leading up to a 4 bedroomed loft apartment . With an area of 75 square meters, it is composed of a large living room with open kitchen, sitting area with sofa bed, wood-burning stove..., and upstairs a large bedroom with bathroom. Small extra sofa bed in the bedroom if needed Overlooking the gardens and pool, you have direct access to the Esplanade du Tilleul for outdoor dining, and the rest of the gardens, with direct access to the forest.
