Places to stay in East Rudham
A brick and flint end terrace cottage, built approximately thirty years ago, and set in a pretty village that has good access to both the beautiful North Norfolk coast and many local attractions. This is a great holiday retreat for families and friends all year round.

This lovely cottage is furnished in an eclectic, relaxing and comfortable style with a mix of modern and antique furniture, and has a warm and welcoming feel as soon as you walk through the door. French doors from the enclosed cottage garden lead into a well-equipped and good sized breakfast kitchen, which has soft grey floorboards, deep grey units with marble tops, so perfectly complemented by the pine table, antique elm chairs and rocking chair. The sitting room, which overlooks the village green, has plenty of comfy seating, a log burner to light on cooler evenings, and a barn door leading into the front garden to open on summer days. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, two with full-size single beds and one king size, and a family bathroom.

1 Mallard Cottages is a fabulous chill-out place to stay and will appeal to families, couples and friends who enjoy a peaceful, rural location. It's only twenty minute drive to the coast, and both the wonderful Pensthorpe and Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserves are close by. A little further afield are Houghton Hall and Sandringham House, which are well worth a visit. There is a good choice of great places to eat locally, the nearest being The Crown at East Rudham, where there is also a village store with post office.

  • If you're looking for a traditional English home in a rural setting, this is ideal. The house is beautiful and the village has a pub and a cafe, as well as good links to nearby towns. The road noise may bother you, but if you're used to traffic it is fine. Helena is a great host: warm, welcoming and makes you feel at ease.

Very nicely decorated with lots of nice touches we liked all the different toilet seats 😊 Thank you for the bottle of wine -that was a nice treat after travelling and getting the kids to bed. Great location to explore all what North Norfolk has to offer.

  • Fantastic stay, great welcome by Lena, good communication, nice touch with welcome hamper, very clean and quiet cottage, loved the log burner and proximity to the Crown pub. We will certainly be back.

  • We highly recommend Lena’s cottage. It is stylish and cosy. The bed is very comfortable and the whole place is beautifully presented and clean. The log burner is fabulous and Lena left a big basket of logs for us. Lena is a great communicator and there was a lovely welcome tray on arrival. The Crown does a good meal but is a restaurant rather than a pub which is great if that’s what you’re looking for. We had a fabulous stay!

  • Great place for a long weekend. We’re a family of four (kids are 3 and 10 months). Having the pool was great. We were the only ones in it the two days we used it. For those travelling with a baby - we used the travel cot provided - it was in immaculate condition.

Gamekeeper’s Lodge is a romantic fairytale luxury cottage for four in South Raynham, just a 20 minute drive to the coast. In their tender and sympathetic restoration, the owners have picked beautiful artwork and fabrics to offset the Farrow and Ball walls, which give this gorgeous English country cottage a sprinkle of magic. Situated in the village of Raynham, a mile south of East Raynham, the ancient family seat of Turnip Townsend, this beautiful Grade II listed property retains much of its original character, including wooden shutters, Norfolk pamment stone floors and stripped floor boards. Plucked straight from the pages of a story book, with its pretty wrap-around garden and gorgeous interiors, you will be planning your return before you’ve even left! The property boasts some very indulgent features and mod cons (including an Alexa), yet maintains an 18th century feel. Decorated in muted greys, lavenders and greens throughout it offers a relaxed and stylish place to stay. A long soak in one of the two roll-top baths and then a good night's sleep in one of the sumptuous beds with their 2000 sprung mattresses and 800 thread count linens, will make for a divine end to the day. Suitable for walkers, bird watchers, or lovebirds, this gorgeous retreat is sure to cast its spell over you. Additional Information Although the cottage sits in its own plot, it does adjoin a main road so some traffic noise may be heard, although this should not affect your enjoyment of the cottage or its delightful garden. Please note, the neighbour has parking rights for two cars in the shared parking area. One well behaved dog welcome (small additional charge). Ground Floor: Dining hall With galleried landing with wooden staircase to the first floor, dining table with seating for four. Sitting room With wood burning stove, 55” Samsung television and Alexa. • We had a truly magical stay - the wagon is stunning! A true antique, beautiful and spacious. Everything you need for a few days away from it all. The bed is so comfortable and the fire heats the space perfectly. The decorative touches are perfect, we felt like we were going back in time. Cannot recommend highly enough! Would love to revisit, thank you Rozzi!

  • Rozzi's caravan is so perfectly set up for a sweet weekend away, you literally couldn't find a more beautiful setting. This year, the second time we've been, we were able to avail ourselves of the fire whilst playing the scrabble that's provided and I felt my heart couldn't be more full. Absolutely perfect. Thank you.

  • Lovely location, lovely wagon and a lovely welcome. My daughter and I stayed the weekend in the wagon. It’s a cozy and beautiful place that has you relaxed within minutes. Although it rained a lot we were popped the log burner on and enjoyed the stay. Lots of lovely finishing touches made the stay extra special.

  • Amazing traditional caravan, be prepared for Victorian small-space living. We loved the fire and raised bed. All in all a great 'glamping' experience.

  • This was our second stay with Rozzi and Bert and it was every bit as enchanting as the last. Rozzi thinks of everything you might need, is a kind and gracious host and quick to answer messages. And Bert? Well...there are no words to describe the magic that awaits you through that deep red door. Wonderful. We can’t wait to return. Thank you x

  • We had a wonderful week at Fleece House. The house was immaculate and so homely. The wood burner was well used during our stay as the weather was not great. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with everything you needed to cook at home. The bedrooms were beautiful and the beds were really comfortable. A really great space and the location was perfect as so many places were within an easy drive.

West Raynham is the estate village to Raynham Hall. Built in the 1880's it is a conservation area and several of the buildings are listed. The architecture is typical Norfolk flintwork. If looking somewhere to stay whilst attending a wedding near by at Manor Mews we are ideal as only 1¼ away.
  • The studio is amazing and super cozy, with lots of nice touches from the hosts. It’s exactly like the pictures, so do expect a really nice space. Mandie and Nigel are really good and helpful hosts, so would definitely recommend renting this space.

The only complaint is that we didn’t book to stay longer :) we cannot wait to return next year and visit more of the area and it’s many attractions!! Norfolk we will be back! Thank you Claire & David for your hospitality

  • Booked Poppy’s Cottage for my parents to stay in whilst visiting family. Beautiful accommodation, secluded and private, clean and beautifully decorated. My parents thoroughly enjoyed their stay, Claire made them very welcome and they loved the extra special touches such as welcome handwritten note and wine in the fridge. Would thoroughly recommend and we will use again.

  • Poppy Cottage was wonderful. A beautiful space, spotlessly clean, cosy, relaxing and peaceful. Can’t recommend enough. Claire was a fab host!! Really thoughtful. Had a lovely stay. Thank you

    Kate2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • If it had been possible we would have given Poppy Cottage 5* as it was spacious, peaceful, calming, welcoming and very comfortable. Claire and Dave were ideal hosts sharing garden produce and leaving us chocolates, wine and flowers on our arrival. This is an ideal hideaway to relax in but no more than 30m inutes to the N Norfolk coast and a variety of outings from beaches to country houses e.g. Sandringham. We especially enjoyed Wells Beach, Walsingham , Moreston Quay/Blakeney and Holt with its range of shops and cafes. We would thoroughly recommend Poppy Cottage.

    Malcolm2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Poppy Cottage is the prefect place for exploring the North Norfolk coast. Everywhere was only a short drive away. Claire was the perfect host and all the little special touches made us feel so welcome, even with a noisy toddler in tow! The pictures don't do Poppy Cottage justice, It's finished and decorated to such a high standard and was bigger than expected. The cottage has everything you could possibly need including a well quipped kitchen, lovely bedroom, relaxing living room and conservatory.

    Faye2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Poppy Cottage is truly fabulous. The space is amazingly clean and beautifully decorated to an excellent standard. It was faultless. The hosts are passionate about the space which really showed in the little extras provided. Communication and hospitality were equally excellent. It was the best experience I’ve ever had. Claire and David are very friendly and open for conversation, but at the same time are respectful of your privacy and enable you to really settle down and enjoy your stay. That really mattered to us. Thank you so much for providing such a wonderful space. We can’t wait to return!!!

Located on a quiet village road, where roadside parking is easily found, this pretty cottage is ideal if you are looking for a relaxing rural break, and will suit a couple or two, as well as a small family. Helhoughton is a delightful village surrounded by beautiful countryside, just south west of the market town of Fakenham, and about twenty minutes from the coastal resort of Wells-next-the-Sea. It is a great base for exploring this beautiful area of North Norfolk, perfect for walking and cycling, as well as visiting local attractions - Pensthorpe Nature Reserve, Sculthorpe Hawk and Owl Trust, Houghton Hall, The Thursford Collection and Christmas Spectacular - and enjoying a day at nearby Fakenham Races! Although there is no pub in the village, there is a popular gastro pub at East Rudham which is a seven minute drive away. If you like to walk it's about 3.5 miles, and you can stroll back afterwards and feel rather virtuous! Additional Information: Sorry, not pets. Feather duvets, anti-allergenic pillows. Electric radiators.

Perfect for a long weekend away. One bedroom, self contained cottage, newly converted to a high standard with all mod cons. Private outside space and dog friendly. Syderstone is a quiet North Norfolk village, with a pub, in an area of outstanding beauty. An ideal base for walkers, birders, cyclists, nature lovers or foodies. The glorious beaches of Holkham, Brancaster and Wells are within a 20 minute drive, whilst the stately homes of Holkham, Houghton and Sandringham are within 10 miles.
Set next to the owners cottage. Parking on the quiet street right outside. Own front door. Completely self contained. This is rural Norfolk, WiFi is free but can vary in strength, mobile phone signals are patchy. One well behaved dog welcome but do not leave alone in the cottage. The village pub is very dog friendly, but please note is currently closed whilst there is a change in management.
Syderstone is a very friendly rural village in North Norfolk. We have frequent quiz nights, a monthly village 'cinema' and a thriving village pub which specialises in gluten free meals. Please note the pub is temporarily closed whilst there is a change in management. Good local walks are available from the doorstep, including Syderstone Common (village walk map in cottage). Easy access to the North Norfolk coast, great pubs and restaurants, birdwatching, steam railways, market towns, water sports and historic buildings. Please note there is no shop in the village, closest is 2 miles, welcome pack can be arranged. We are happy to help with recommendations for pubs and restaurants.
  • Lovely little cottage in a quiet rural village, great walks from the village itself and a short drive to the Coast. Lovely little touches in the accommodation such as all the little extras needed for cooking and the very kind bottle of Prosecco for New Year's Eve!

  • We had a wonderful weekend stay at Gwyn and Sarah’s! The cottage is beautiful and contained everything we needed. We were most grateful for the tips they gave us about where to visit and places to eat that were all dog friendly!!

  • What an amazing little cottage! It is safe to say I will be recommending staying to everyone I know. Everything about the cottage is beautiful. It was absolutely spotless and everything was well thought out. Honestly cannot pick a single fault. The bed was super comfortable. Parking wasn’t an issue just on the road outside the drive, plenty of room.

Once upon a time this delightful cottage was the village pub, The Greyhound. It still has a cellar and a snug to remind you of its former past, but otherwise you really wouldn't know. Decorated in soft pastel colours, comfortably furnished in a contemporary style, with modern filament lightbulbs lighting some of the rooms, the cottage has an easy, relaxing feel throughout. On entering the front door you are welcomed by a spacious sitting room with a wood burning stove. To one side of the sitting room is an equally roomy dining room; perfect for friends and family to enjoy a meal together. On the other side, a few steps up from the sitting room, a cosy snug with a wood burning stove, desk and L-shaped sofa is the place to be if you want to quietly read, need to work or study. The modern fitted country-style kitchen is very well-equipped with everything you need if you like to cook and want to sample some of the wonderful produce found locally. For those who prefer to eat out, and don't wish to drive, you can pop over the road and enjoy a meal at the bistro restaurant, The Aviator. When it's time to retire for the day, upstairs you will find three bedrooms (a stunning split level master super-king suite, a second super-king bedroom with twin option, and a bunk room) along with two bathrooms, one of which is en-suite to the master bedroom. Outside, you have a choice of seating areas; a gravel and paved courtyard garden immediately outside the kitchen, and an enclosed cottage garden with lawn area to the rear of the courtyard barn. Greyhound Cottage is a great holiday property and will suit all manner of holidaymakers of all ages; couples, friends, families, birdwatchers, walkers, cyclists, dog owners, beach lovers ...... just anyone who is looking for a relaxing Norfolk 'hideaway' to escape to for a short or longer break at any time of the year. Additional Information: Two well-behaved dogs welcome, for a small additional charge. Bedroom two has a zip-and-link super-king bed, which can be made up as two single beds - please specify preferred option on booking. A travel cot, two high chairs and a portable stair gate are available - please request on booking. Duvets and pillows are synthetic. There is a right of way in the rear courtyard, principally used by neighbours to put out their waste bins each Friday.
