  • My fiancé and I took a weekend get away to plan our ceremony and the space and the location was perfect. This unique and beautiful space has inspiring artwork every where! The bed was so comfortable. Large windows provide natural light. Wifi worked great too. We went to a winery close by, Villa Bellezza, which was fantastic. We also had tasty Chai and pie cookies at the Stockholm Pie and General Store. I would definitely return here for another get away or to get out of town to get some work done. Kendra was easy to communicate with and a great host!

  • Kendra’s place was super cool and unique. Wonderful to watch the sunset through the wall of westward facing windows. Not too far from a couple neat small river towns with good food and drink options. Definitely recommend staying here!

    Drew2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Kendra’s! The former schoolhouse is full of character and history. Stockholm and Pepin are just a short drive away. Her art adds to the beautiful surroundings that make up this hidden find. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!!!

    Julie2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • It is a wonderful quiet stay. We loved solitude.

    Roxane2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Kendra was super helpful and responded quick to every question I had! She even gave me some tips on where to eat and things to do! Great host!

    Griffen2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying here. We felt inspired by the open space and art all around, and loved watching sunset through the entire wall of windows. Kendra was communicative and has obviously put a lot of creative thought into the space and creating a lovely experience for guests. Highly recommend. The kitchen was small but still had all of the essentials, including a small oven which allowed us to roast the meal we had planned to make. We hope to come back in the summer sometime to enjoy the bonfire in the backyard!

The cabin sits on one acre of land in Old Frontenac. Florence township beach and Frontenac State Park are in walking distance. This is "comfortable camping". The basics are there for campers to enjoy such as a fire pit, wood, and grill. The kitchen area has a hot plate, large toaster oven, and a small refrigerator, Hok-si-La Park, just a few miles south, has a great beach and boat launch. The cabin has NO indoor plumbing. It has a composting toilet and water jugs with spigots to clean up with.
The cabin is seasonal and we are not sure how long into the winter season it will be comfortable. There is a radiant heater and also a gas fireplace which keeps in comfortable until the January freeze comes. The cabin will be shut down after December 16th until April 2020. Please look for the open calendar in the spring. It's been great hosting our guests! See you next year. Dick and Kathy
Old Frontenac is on the historical register. It is rich in riverboat history. The village is very quiet with the trains only heard in the distance.
  • Amazing little place! Cozy, warm and, homey. We really enjoyed it and the area. Thank you for the stay!

    Amelia2019-12-16T00:00:00Z

It’s honestly the cutest place I wish I lived there. The price was great! It was warm and homey and the communication was fabulous. She even told me to stay past check out if the weather was too bad to drive out. LOVE IT. will stay again!!

Cozy first-floor apartment in a triplex blocks from downtown, the riverfront, Memorial Park & Barn Bluff Trailhead. Lots of large windows allow for natural light in all rooms. Unit has comfortable queen-size bed in bedroom & futon in living room for additional sleeping (but the bathroom is only accessible thru the bedroom). Unit has kitchen with all appliances, basic cooking supplies & plates, bowls, silverware & glasses. **Listing price includes a 3% City of Red Wing lodging tax.
The house has two addresses because it is a corner lot. It has the address 402 W 7th St and 626 Bush St. The entrance to the AirBNB apt is on Bush St. **Do NOT enter the door on the small porch that faces 7th St. That is someone else's private apartment.** The AirBNB apartment is a private space in a building with other private apartments. You have the whole apartment. The only shared space is the building's front door and entryway, which is shared with the apartment upstairs. Roomy and open unit in a large corner lot triplex. Front porch available, as well as yard. Large 49" Smart TV with sound bar in living room with access to Netflix, Hulu, Prime video and Prime music. IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE: PARKING: You can park on Bush St. in front of the house but you need to park ACROSS THE STREET (not on the side of Bush St. that is closest to the house). You should see No Parking signs and/or yellow curb on the side where parking is not allowed. HOSTS NOT ON SITE: We do not live on site. Both of the other apartments in the building are occupied by other long-term tenants. We do not live there. SHARED BUILDING/NOISE FROM OTHER TENANTS: The AirBNB apartment is the lower unit in a triplex, so there will be noise from the other tenants. It may be more noticeable if you are not used to living in a building with other apartments/tenants. One of the other apartments is around the side/back of the main part of the building. That is a separate apt occupied by tenants and is not part of the AirBNB. SECOND BED: The second bed is a futon located in the living room. BATHROOM: The only bathroom is inside the bedroom. It is only accessible through the bedroom. AIR CONDITIONING: The air conditioning is a window unit in the living room. There is NO central air. However, there are ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom and a stand-up fan in the living room that can help blow the cooler air from the air conditioner in the living room into the bedroom. Also, you are welcome to turn off the air conditioning and open the windows for fresh air instead, as the nights can be cool and fresh in Minnesota.
Red Wing is a peaceful and quiet river town not far from the Twin Cities. Unit is within walking distance of several restaurants/bars, coffee shops, a grocery store, a liquor store, a gas station/convenience store, and the riverfront. Red Wing is only 20 minutes from Welch and close to Treasure Island Casino, as well.

  • Fabulous AirBnB! We stayed the weekend here for a hockey tournament in Red Wing. The location was super convenient. Lake City is such a nice little town. The local grocery store was just minutes away. As for the space itself, you really can’t ask for anything nice. Far better than staying in a hotel for the weekend. I’d book this again in a heartbeat and would recommend to anyone traveling through the area! Thank you Sonda!!

  • Beautiful, sparkling clean, spacious accomodation. Beautiful view overlooking Lake Pepin - particularly enjoyed the Eagles soaring in the morning over the lake. Beds were very comfortable and the bedrooms were spacious. We have visited Lake City often and this is by far the best we have experienced.

Remarkable historic home in pretty Red Wing. Spacious, private, queen bedroom blocks from the preserved downtown. You are invited to enjoy a private outdoor sitting area. Your comfortable room is located in a secluded section of the home, and common areas are shared. Perhaps you will be lucky enough to have one of my two kitties also meet you at the door. Conveniently located, you might walk downtown or access excellent climbing bluffs. If you prefer a ride, there is Lyft or a cab in town.
This beautiful, historic home is quiet and welcoming. Your peaceful space is right next to the entrance and adjacent to the living room.
For history buffs, Red Wing has 22 individually listed buildings and sites and three historic districts on the National Register of Historic Places. Home construction in this residential area began shortly after this home was built in the eighteen-eighties to the nineteen-twenties. Attracted by employment at the cooper shop (barrel maker), multiple bungalows and foursquares popped up throughout the east end. Today, the area remains nestled between the city's tallest bluffs - Barn Bluff (known as Ȟemníčhaŋ in the Dakota language) and Sorin's Bluff/Memorial Park (dedicated in 1927 for our military and for outdoor recreation).
  • Such an amazing place! Only place in Red Wing I will stay at now!

    Veronica2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Vicki is a wonderful host. Her house is under renovation but if you like older homes as I do it’s easy to look past that. We highly recommend Vicki as a host. We would stay with her again.

    Daniel2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Vicki’s house! Vicki has two friendly cats who after meeting us, minded their own business. I am allergic to cats and normally have a quite awful time with my allergies but was pleasantly surprised that due to the extreme cleanliness of the house, my reaction was practically nonexistent :) We would love to visit again!

Highly recommend this stay if you are looking for a superb stay for an an inexpensive price, this is the place to go!

Small house/cottage with a large, park-like yard on the Great River Road at Lake Pepin, just outside charming Pepin, Wisc. An ideal launch point for adventures on the river and into the hills. Conveniently located for sailing, cycling, fishing, boating, wineries, craft breweries, and fine dining. It's a pleasant venue for relaxation and unplugging from the day-to-day and enjoying life's simple pleasures.
My wife and I love spending time in this cozy home -- in all seasons -- and we think you will, too! It's pet-friendly space (note: yard not fenced) with ample parking for boats or other trailered items. Property includes outdoor power outlet.
I enjoy cycling on the country roads around Pepin and spending quiet time at the cottage. My wife loves sailing and dining at the Harborview Restaurant in town. You're sure to find moments you'll cherish along the Great River Road.
  • This little cottage was perfect for a quiet weekend away from the city. We went snowshoeing nearby, checked out the beautiful lakeshore at sunset, and stayed in with games and books. Would highly recommend!

Secluded cabin with panoramic views of Lake Pepin. Located 3 miles from municipal marina and downtown Lake City. Located on a 16 acre wooded parcel. Full kitchen, newer bath, wood burning fireplace, large deck and patio with a gas grill, smoker grill, and a fire pit. Linens, kitchenware, and wood provided. Great for bird watchers! A lot of wildlife on the property. Easy access to state snow mobile trails.
Please note that 4 Wheel Drive is a necessity during Winter months! The property has a short step hill leading up to the cabin 1/4 mile from the main road. Low traction vehicles (i.e. low clearance sports cars) and classic cars are not recommended at anytime of year. If in doubt please ask. For most of the year most modern cars, trucks, SUV's, and mini-vans are just fine and will have no issues. However, if in doubt please ask. From December through May please message for availability to allow me to assess access and snow removal requirements. I love winter guest but I also need to ensure I can deliver a quality experience!
In the woods! Peaceful, quiet, no neighbors. This cabin is on the site of the old Camp Lakeview MN National Guard Training grounds. The old trails and shooting walls are still visible. Two known nesting pairs of Barred Owls are on the property as well as Re-Tailed Hawks and Eagles visible daily. Deer and fox frequent the area around the cabin.
  • Whiskey Bluff Cabin is the perfect place & space to get away, unwind and relax! It’s private & remote enough in the woods while still being close to town. The fireplace is so nice and the bed was super comfortable. Christopher was very communicative and had a bottle of wine for us to enjoy. Great price and place and we’ll definitely return!

The decor in this house is clean and simple. We think of it as modern country. The light is incredible with a living room of floor to ceiling windows. The house is surrounded by an apple orchard and rolling hills. Recently featured in Martha Stewart Living July/Aug 2019.
The space is artfully decorated with found objects and natural materials. It has a comfy window seats and a living room that looks out over rolling hills. The house is situated next to two classic barns and a chicken coop. The bathroom has a glass shower that looks out to nature.
The house is 2 and 1/2 miles from Lake Pepin. The area is surrounded by unique bluffs and rolling hills.

The Maiden Rock Barn is an ideal place to gather with friends, family or to spend some time alone. Located in the beautiful countryside of Maiden Rock township, Wisconsin at the top of Pine Creek Rustic Road known for it's great birding and trout stream, it is just a few miles from the Mississippi River/Lake Pepin. The Barn is a short drive from the river towns of Maiden Rock, Stockholm, and Pepin; 20 miles from Red Wing or Wabasha.
The 2009 barn was built to replicate the former 100 year old barn that stood here. The ground level 1500 sq ft apartment with private entrance and fireplace will accommodate up to 6 adults with Beautiful SW exposure and lots of sun in a light airy open floor plan. This vacation rental was just inspected and licensed by the state of Wisconsin.
The area is known for its wineries, orchards, galleries, restaurants and bakeries, but also for hiking, fishing, biking, kayaking, sailing and golfing in the warm months. During the winter it is popular for hunting, skiing (Downhill at the Coffee Mill ski hill in Wabasha, MN or Welch Village in Welch, MN; Cross Country at Cedar River Trail, WI or Frontenac State Park, MN), ice fishing, snowmobiling, and quilting in the winter. We are just 2 miles from Laura Ingalls Wilder birthsite!
  • Loved it here! This is our favorite area, and a great and beautiful place to stay made it even better! We will be back. The friendly dog was a plus as well!

  • We had a lovely stay at Brenda's place! It is a bit off the beaten path but is such a beautiful space and there were many thoughtful touches waiting for us inside. If we're ever back in that part of Wisconsin, we'd stay there again!

  • A beautiful location and a beautiful space.

    Melissa2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place to spend a cozy winter weekend away. Brenda’s place is beautifully decorated but still feels homey. And there’s a sweet pup onsite to boot!

    Kelsey2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful place to spend time with your spouse. It is decorated very nicely with more room than we expected. The fireplace was very romantic and added to the ambience. Brenda was very responsive to our messages and she made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We are planning on returning in the fall to enjoy an outside fire and another romantic getaway!

  • Tidy and beautiful space. Great communication. Beautiful location.

    Joe2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the Barn. It is beautifully decorated with lots of nice touches, like plenty of pillows and blankets, quality linens and pretty dishes. It was sparklingly clean. The location was very quiet and private, with nice scenery. We also enjoyed playing with Diedra the dog, the unofficial (and adorable) welcoming committee.

  • I got married in Stockholm, WI this weekend and wanted a place reasonably close for my family to stay. Photos of this house cannot do it justice—it is breathtaking in person!!! It was a busy weekend and not a lot of time was spent in the house, but in the moments of downtime we were able to see several bald eagles fly over, deer walking through the yard, and even a wild turkey! Would definitely stay here again!

    Abby2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you to Wade for sharing his lovely and unique home with us! The views were amazing! We would definitely return. We appreciate everything Wade! Bonnie and Family-Minneapolis

    Jen2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great house! There is plenty of space both inside and out and amazing views of the river! We even saw wildlife: eagles and deer. Winter hiking, sledding, and other outside opportunities are nearby. Wade was great and very responsive and welcoming. Plan to bring anything beyond bare-necessities kitchen gear if you plan to cook. The house is kid-friendly and is cozy and fun for a family weekend of games/puzzles/Netflix.

Welcome to our home. Your private upstairs room is a cozy space with a queen bed and two chairs. The space has independent temperature control so you can keep it where YOU like it. There's a mirror with a dresser, TV, nightstands with charging stations for your electronics and a closet with hangers. Our house is a new-to-us 100 year old work in progress. We try to reflect this in our price. It does include steps that are on the steep side and one bathroom on the main floor that we all share.
Our house originally shows up on local tax records as far back as the 1850's. There have been some additions made along the way leaving a quirky old farmhouse. Our favorite feature is the window in the sitting room that opens up into the wall. Your private spaces are all finished but the common areas are getting a facelift.
We love our neighborhood. It's very quiet and easily walkable. Sidewalks are intermittent but has never been an issue. We are just 6 blocks off the water and within walking distance to many great eating establishments. We are three blocks from the gas stations in town.
  • Amanda's place was clean and exceeded my expectations. She was a friendly host and was more than happy to provide local tips. Her place is a great value for anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.

  • What a magical place! The A-frame cabin with its recently renovated bathroom, fully-equipped kitchen, WiFi (for a tiny bit of work here and there) - and the beach is right outside your door. We loved our stay, the friendly neighbors (just the right amount of friendly), watching the birds and the sunsets - and the fact that you take well-behaved dogs is SO appreciated. We hope to come back many times! Thank you; thank you!

  • This is a small, cozy space that puts you right on the beach and lets you relax in nature. Our kids had fun looking for rocks and splashing in the water. The road to the cabin can be dicey in bad weather. Beyond that, we lived our family bonding time there!

    Kathryn2019-07-06T00:00:00Z

  • Tracy's place was a great last minute find for myself, my husband, and our 4 teenagers. The apartment was very clean and modern. The bar underneath the space has great burgers and the staff was welcoming and friendly. I grew up with trains close by so the sound of them rumbling by was comforting. I would definitely recommend Tracy's place and would love to return and spend more time in the area.

The space was immaculate, freshly finished and comfortable. The hosts, Dale and Nancy, greeted us upon arrival with locally sourced treats and assured us that they were available should any need emerge. Stockholm is a lovely little town and we enjoyed exploring the surrounding area. We would definitely return for another stay.

  • The Love Shack actually exceeded our expectations! It is roomier than the pictures make it appear. The kind-sized bed is very comfortable and the bedroom is quite large. The kitchen has everything you would need and the large island is perfect for eating and playing cards. Shirley clearly has a decorator's eye - the place is super cute and clean.

This lower level 1,000 sq ft. apartment is beautiful inside and out. It is a secluded residence with mature oak trees and cow pastures. This walk-out with a private entrance, private patio, fire pit and gas grill. There is one bedroom with queen bed and the couch folds out to sleep two. Full kitchen, living room with gas fireplace, washer and dryer access. Internet and Hulu Live included. Lake Pepin is within walking distance and downtown Lake City is minutes away.
This home is located within easy access to Lake City, Frontenac State Park and Red Wing. We are within minutes of three different golf courses! It has country living within minutes of downtown Lake City. We have four hens, five newly hatched chicks, one guinea fowl whom all stay in their run and provide fresh eggs. There is nothing as relaxing as Chicken Therapy, watching chickens while relaxing in the fresh country air.
This is a old horse farm, now a growing hobby farm. There are new and old housing developments nearby but far enough away as not to intrude on privacy.
  • Wendy's space was perfect. Exactly like the pictures. Spacious and clean and with everything we could possibly want and more. The fireplace was wonderful and she had it going for us when we arrived. It was too cold for us to be outside with the fire pit, and the pictures don't do it justice. It's a nice large fire pit. The views are beautiful. In the summer with the leaves on the trees, the view might be blocked, but this time of year it was lovely. The song birds visit the patio. We saw a bunch of snowbirds, at least 3 pairs of cardinals, and chickadees. It is out in the country kind of but also very convenient to everything in the area. Maybe a mile from 61, but we never heard traffic. During the day we heard the train, but at night we did not hear it. Her dog and cat visited our patio one morning and they are so gentle and adorable. It was a great experience and the best airbnb experience yet. We are hoping to make it a yearly visit. Wendy had really good recommendations for places to eat and went out of her way to recommend places that would meet our diet restrictions. There are steps going down to the place but they aren't difficult even with my gimpy knees. I should also note that it was very clean and private.

    Angie2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot that our family of four enjoyed. Even though it’s attached to the main house, we had total privacy. Use of patio outside, fire pit was really nice. They even had smore sticks ready for us! I highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for a place to stay in the Lake Pepin area.

  • The other reviewers are spot on. This is a quiet, lovely rural retreat. It is well-appointed and sparkling clean. We, too, enjoyed the great kitchen and the gas fireplace for October's chill. The location is a perfect jumping off point for Lake Pepin, shopping and dining in Red Wing and Lake City, hiking at Frontenac State Park - and then returning to the idyllic patio for a glass of wine in front of the fire.

    Kimberly2019-10-09T00:00:00Z

  • My sister and I were in town from Chicago for a wedding and decided to stay here for the weekend. This place was just as great as it is advertised to be. The location was great, surrounded by nature and beautiful scenery. The property was located in a comforting and friendly neighborhood with plenty of room to explore on foot without getting lost. The interior of the house was cozy and inviting but also well decorated and functional. Some things we particularly enjoyed were the wifi, internet TV (netflix, etc.) , Keurig coffee maker and the big, open windows in the living room area that gave a beautiful view of the surrounding nature. The hosts were very accommodating and responded very quickly to any questions we had. This place was the perfect mix of quaint country and contemporary. We couldn't have asked for more and hope to stay here again in the future!

  • Our family had a great time spending the weekend here. Everyone from age 3 to age 65 loved the space. The patio in the summer would be spectacular to watch the sunset over the Minnesota bluffs. The hosts were easy to get in touch with when we had a small issue and they were also quite accommodating. The kids asked if we could come back to the "renting home" in the summer.

  • This home is beautiful, homey and warm. It's actually much more beautiful than the pictures show. A tiny, historic town very near Laura Ingalls Widler's birthplace in the Big Woods, water, bluffs, sailboats on Lake Pepin (we didn't see them, they were dry docked for winter, but I know they're there). Huge bedrooms, a table each for meals and games, cozy furniture and a cookable kitchen. The shower is wonderful.

    Lisa2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Place and hosts are wonderful. Highly recommend.

    Diane2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a lovely time at this home. The space is cozy, especially the living room, with three sofas and a big chair that overlook the lake. We enjoyed relaxing, reading, talking, assembling a puzzle, and playing games in this space. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the beds were quite comfortable. We were greeted with a loaf of artisan bread and a bottle of wine left on the table for us. The trains, which run on the tracks across from the street, did not bother us. Matthew and Amy were very responsive to any questions.

    Renee2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great home in a great location downtown Pepin, beautiful views of the lake. Cozy and affordable. Enjoyed the walks to get ice cream with the grandkids - Very Nice Stay.

    Josh2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for a place to recover from a particularly hectic summer, and this house was perfect! The bed was comfy and warm, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The hosts share a wonderful variety of games, books and music. The outdoor sauna was excellent--an educating fire-building experience topped off with great steam and a brisk outdoor shower. We've come home knowing we must find a way to add a sauna to our house. We had deer and turkeys in the yard each day, and we added four new varieties of birds to our birding journal and saw hundreds of cardinals, jays, sparrows and chickadees at the feeders on the property. We didn't see another person for three days. The weather wasn't especially cooperative for hiking, but we walked the grounds and spent many hours on the deck watching barges go up the river and studying the brighter stars that were spectacular through light cloud cover. This was the ideal place to unplug and relax. We've stayed in several excellent Airbnb homes, and they've all offered perks that we have enjoyed. This was the best place we've encountered for a real vacation from everything.

  • We have stayed at quite a few Airbnbs around the country and this home ranks with the best of them. New clean furniture. A binder with easy to read instructions on everything in the home. It even has a turn table with an excellent selection of music albums to play on it! The interior looks like it could be in a home magazine. We'd definitely stay again

  • We had a great weekend at Krystal’s place. There were eight of us celebrating a birthday and we had plenty of space. There were several great bars and restaurants within walking distance (we loved the Railhouse Grill). The house is in a great location to visit several fun wineries. If you are looking for a place in Lake City, you will not be disappointed in this fantastic home.

    Andrew2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing house for our large group! We had plenty of space for our 4 families. The kitchen was incredibly well-stocked with all the dishes, glasses, and cookware you could possibly need - the best of any Airbnb I've stayed in! The location is a short walk to Lake City, which is a charming town, even in the middle of winter. I highly recommend this house, especially for large groups!

    Lauren2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great vacation rental - very well kept, clean and spacious and fantastic location!

    Dana2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a group of 14 girls stay at Hook, Wine & Sinker! This place is the PERFECT place for large groups! Plenty of bedrooms and other spaces for people to sleep, several bathrooms, common areas, great kitchen and even a backyard! The pictures do not do it justice! The host had the house spotless when we arrived! We took a boat cruise on Lake Pepin only about a mile away, Kwik Trip is a block away and all the bars are walking distance! There is also a winery nearby and a public beach! Coffee Depot less than a mile! We had a great time in Lake City!

    Jacklyn2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Krystal's place was huge, clean, well stocked, and was perfect for a week-end get away in Lake City. Check-in and out was very easy and Krystal was extremely prompt with responding to any questions I had. The place was really lovely. I'd love to return with family and children as it would be a great space for multiple families to stay together close to the lake and downtown!

    Rebecca2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay for a large group. Plenty of room for everyone to mingle. It exceeded my expectations as far as location, size, cleanliness, and comfort! Kyrstal is a great host and was prompt with all of our questions! The kitchen is gorgeous and has every utensil, dish, and pan you can think of. The dining room table is large enough for your entire house and in a beautiful room with big windows. There were more than enough blankets, pillows, and towels to furnish the entire neighborhood. The basement even had a game room that we enjoyed and there is a washer/dryer available as well. The main floor living room was soooo cozy and perfect with a sun porch attached that is to die for! There is not much for outdoor seating, but we made it work (brought fold-up chairs), there also is not much outdoor privacy if that is your thing - we didn't mind and hopefully, the neighbors didn't either. Also wished that the bedrooms had curtains to block out the morning sunshine at 6am but hey we weren't there to sleep lol. Perfect location to walk to parks, hiking trails, places to eat, and the river! We took advantage of the Lake City Boat Rental in town which I highly recommend! We are already planning our trip for next year!

    Tia2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic house for our group of three families with little kids! Krystal is a great host, very helpful and her place is beautiful. Awesome play set in the back yard, visible from the kitchen and dining room so the kids could play while the grown ups visited and cooked. Great location in Lake City for a weekend of activities around Lake City and Red Wing. We walked to restaurants, grocery and the lake shore.

    Lindsay2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • This house was fabulous for our large crew! Several familiea with young kiddos stayed and we were able to have space for everyone. A yard and playset kept little ones occupied for hours. We walked to the river and found a nearby park. Kiddos fell asleep upstairs while we had multiple places to talk and catch up late into the night. Cute town, cute house, perfect for bigger groups wanting space to reconnect. More than enough bathrooms so there was never a wait.

Franklin Cottage is a fully renovated 1920 arts and crafts bungalow located within the historic Red Wing residential district, and only steps away from Red Wing’s Central Park & Historic Downtown. Easy walk to St. James Hotel. Looking for a romantic escape or a place to relax after outdoor adventures? Or perhaps a place big enough for wedding parties, wedding guests, a girls trip, or colleagues traveling in for work. In any case, Franklin Cottage will accommodate your needs.
As soon as you step inside Franklin Cottage, you will see why it won a Historic Preservation Award. The kitchen blends traditional style with newer appliances & granite island, and you’ll love the master suite & master bath w/ tiled shower. The other guest rooms are also comfortably styled and the additional full bath features an antique clawfoot tub. This home welcomes you with high-quality furnishings throughout, highlighted by original details throughout and modern amenities such as newer kitchen appliances, central heat & air, flat-screen LED televisions, premium cable, high-speed WiFi and more. If you're visiting in the summer and fall, we have a well-equipped back porch and outdoor space to grill, relax, enjoy the evening, and play some outdoor games. In the colder winter months, we have a cozy fireplace, luxurious warm bedding and plenty of indoor entertainment to relax and enjoy after an adventurous day.
Residential Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is an excellent representation of an evolving residential district, beginning in the late 1850s and culminating in the early 1930s with a slight majority of buildings dating from the city's period of greatest construction; the late 1880s to pre-World War I. Some of the earliest remaining buildings have been architecturally updated during subsequent fashionable periods and lend an acceptable, if curious, architectural and educational value to the character of the district.
  • This is an awesome place! The craftsmanship is beautiful and the place is warm and inviting. We went for a 3 day weekend and enjoyed it immensely. Perfect if you are cooking at home or going out. We hope to return soon!

I would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Welcome to our home. We have a comfortable shared living room and mainfloor bathroom. Just in case sharing space isn't your thing, there's a pseudo private sitting room set up just down the hall upstairs that you can utilize. Your upstairs room is a cozy space with 2 twin beds and a fire TV that you can tap into your accounts with. You get to control the temp in the space, heat and ac. We have a mirror with a quaint 3-drawer dresser. A nightstand that's shared and a place to hang your things.
This is a cozy but functional 2nd floor room for two. There is a small dresser with a fire TV, mirror, night stand and hooks for hanging things. There's a little window a.c. unit and independent baseboard heat so you can control the temp yourself. Limited outlets available so we have provided a power strip on the nightstand between the beds for your convenience. Our dog Aspen sleeps with us at night, is never allowed upstairs and hangs out on his chair when we are home. He does like to greet guests with a few barks. The shared bathroom is located on the 1st floor (for now) so guests will have to navigate the steps between their room and the bathroom.
We live in a great neighborhood in Pepin. Our neighbors are super friendly and typically wave at everyone. We are walking distance to pretty much everything in town including many restaurants, the waterfront and the gas station. Things are pretty quiet with just the occasional neighborhood dog bark.
  • What a great value stay! Perfect for two just crashing for the night, and Amanda was great to work with! thanks again Amanda

  • I found Amanda and Matt to be very pleasant, sincere and accessible hosts. I really liked the cleanliness and care put into the rented rooms...they are exactly as they are posted. • Our overnight stay was comfy and warm compared to the season's first snow/sleet/rain that took over the day. Amanda was easy to connect with and easy to find. Our room in an interesting century old house was comfy and just right. We appreciated the treats and water carafe. Also enjoyed visiting with our friendly host and dog, Aspen.

  • Nestled in the picturesque landscape of the upper Mississippi valley, The pepin cottage is a wonderful getaway! Brad and Danni were amazing. Their thoughtfulness was much better than expected. We spent our Christmas holiday and they made sure every detail was not overlooked. They even decorated the space for Christmas...making sure we had a Christmas tree for Santa to put gifts under! Upon checking in, we were welcomed to the lovely scent of essential oil diffuser that was thoughtfully turned on and the warm glow of Christmas lights tastefully decorating the main floor. Throughout the house are very thoughtful extras. My parents loved the bottle of wine from the local vineyard, the kids loved the endless board games and video games offered, my wife loved the quality of the soaps and shampoo...not the typical warehouse club special found in most rentals, and I loved that all of my family were happy with the home I picked. I asked if there was enough snow for sledding for my 5-year-old and they even thought to bring sleds for her to use! Our stay was wonderful, thanks Brad and Danni!

  • Brad and Danni are wonderful hosts. The Pepin Cottage has a very warm, cozy feeling to it. It worked out nicely for a group of guys engaged in outdoor activities In the Tiffany Bottoms wildlife area. This place would be perfect for a group of people exploring the wineries and other activities that the Pepin area offers. I have visited Pepin many times over the years and finding the Pepin Cottage was an added bonus. I hope to book with Brad and Danni again in the future.

  • This is such a cute little home! My kids loved it. Lots of video games and Board games to keep them entertained. Very thoughtful to have extra items Incase guests forgets anything. The home is very spacious and bigger on the inside than how it looks on the outside. The location was super close to the winery down the road that we were attending. We only stayed two nights, wished we had more time to enjoy the fire pit and the BBQ grill.

Original 1913 charm meets eclectic and earthy décor. Located in a charming, quiet neighborhood amongst the bluffs. Our beautiful home is walking distance to downtown Red Wing, Memorial Park hiking trails, the Mississippi River walking/biking path which leads to the Cannon Valley trail. A short drive will bring you to multiple golf courses and excellent vista views.
A variety of comfortable spaces are here to enjoy. The newly remodeled kitchen offers all the amenities for cooking and baking amongst original, historic touches. Giant maple trees provide a beautiful canopy in the large, fenced backyard, perfect for enjoying downtime or an outdoor meal. The spacious screened Front Porch is a great place for morning coffee or evening relaxation. Visiting in Winter?? Hunker down in the cozy Den after a day of skiing or snowshoeing in the bluffs. PLEASE NOTE: there are wooden staircases (one is a steep and narrow Butler stair), and large, low window sills on the second level. Though beautiful, this may not be safe for small children or others needing additional help.
Just down the street, situated among the bluffs you will find: junior league baseball games (beautiful setting on summer evenings), outdoor ice skating (free - includes skate rental) and a historic cemetery with a wonderful scenic overlook.
  • This is a lovely space. Very large and can accommodate a group of people. The kitchen is well stocked with supplies which makes cooking a meal super easy. Rachael was extremely accommodating and communicative. Super close to the main area of Red Wing which was a bonus! We would definitely return.

  • Excellent, cozy house with a complete kitchen, wonderfully cozy and accommodating common spaces, and comfortable, clean bedrooms. Loved every minute. Rachael was accommodating, flexible and communicative. This rates at the top of the dozens of AirB&Bs we’ve stayed in for quality/price rapport! Thanks!!
