It is located on the lagoon of Lake Hain 20 km south of Leipzig and stands out due to the older cottage charm from the remaining new "vacation cubes." Instead of the usual veneer furniture off the shelf, there is an individual decor, beautiful view of the jetty, fireplace, many things for children and fruit plants for harvesting. The Markthaus is a historic gem and is a listed building, designated as the first hostel in Saxon Switzerland. The house frames the market square in the reflection of the market church below the castle ruin on the romantic Malerweg. The vaulted cellar and foundation walls date back to 1527. The main house was built in 1734 and operated as a rest stop, post office and inn. In 1850, a massive extension was built in the classicist style. Röhringer ran the Hotel Sächsische Schweiz here.

The house is off a road about 300 meters from a modern outdoor swimming pool in a very quiet location. In the neighborhood there are bungalows - some of them are occupied all year round. All the technical aids that a normal household has are available (washing machine,, fridge, TV, bicycles, grill, etc.) and can be used free of charge. Internet access is available for 5 euros/stay. Please just ask.
