Founded in 1957, my grandfather, Eiichi Tanuchi, ran an inn called Aiwasho for the cultural development of Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture. In order to continue to protect its history and traditions, his granddaughter, Kiushuko, reopened the inn under its original name in 2021. Built on the site of Ueno Castle, this inn is a traditional Japanese house with tatami mats on the floor. Please relax in one of the two Japanese-style rooms. The inn is located on a hill overlooking the city of Tanabe, so you can enjoy the morning sun, sunset, and night view. On a calm day, we recommend having tea in a wicker chair on the edge of the hinoki cypress wooden deck, which was made in the image of the moon viewing platform of the Katsura Imperial Villa. The newly installed bath and toilet are spacious and barrier-free, so you can bathe together or use them easily even if you need assistance. Misaki-cho, the southernmost seaside town of Osaka. (A nice rural town about an hour away from Osaka by car or train.) There is a beach with a wonderful sunset 10 minutes away on foot, and there is also a walking course that dogs will enjoy. There are also spots nearby. Take the fish you caught home, and you can also enjoy cooking because the kitchen is fully equipped. There is also a roadside station nearby, where you can buy seasonal vegetables, fruits, and fish.

Japan's tiny home in Koyaguchi offers two guest rooms, ideal for up to 4 guests, with a minimum of one group per day. An extra fee applies from the second person. Accessible via JR station with a Japan Rail Pass, it features a kitchen for self-catering and indoor bicycle storage. It’s an 8-minute drive to Natural Onsen Yunosato and a 6-minute walk to Koyaguchinoyu public bathhouse. Directions to Yunosato and to Koyaguchinoyu are available in the guidebook.
