Cottage vacation rentals in Wirral

What a lovely cottage, and a great host. We chose this cottage because of the quiet location and the hot tub to chill out in, and we were not disappointed. It’s close enough to Chester to access the shops and restaurants, yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. Lots of walks close by, a nice little village shop and local pub. What more could you ask for. The cottage itself is immaculately presented, very tastefully furnished and has a nice blend of traditional and modern. Looking forward to returning.

Had a wonderful 2 nights staying in the cottage on a working farm. It felt really peaceful but was also only a 5-10 min drive to Ruthin. We stayed here so we could go walking in the Clwydian Range, this was around a 15-20 min drive depending on which car park we wanted to start the walk from, but it was all perfect for us. We even found a short local walk from the cottage itself along a public footpath. The cottage was very well equipped, we used the kitchen each evening, and it was a lovely cozy space. The cottage was immaculate and we really enjoyed the hot tub, and watching the horses nearby. Richard and Ceri were lovely and welcoming hosts and we'd highly recommend the rural retreat.

Absolutely beautiful home. Everything you need there and immaculately presented. Great for easy access to local hotspots and walks too. Hot tub was lovely with towels provided. Lots of helpful information and host was really responsive with my questions before arrival. We used for a girls (over 50’s!) weekend but would be perfect for families too.

We had a lovely stay at the Drift House! The house was absolutely beautiful, in a lovely area with lots of nice walks and pubs nearby. Nicola was so helpful and quick to respond, it was very much appreciated! Would definitely recommend and absolutely love to stay again if we were ever interested in coming back to the area. My four-day stay in a beautiful and quiet cottage with a jacuzzi was a true feast for the senses and a perfect way to escape from everyday life. Right from the start, when I arrived at the cottage, I was welcomed by a picturesque landscape and the lovely owner, Suzy, who gave us a tour of the house. One of the biggest advantages of this place was the jacuzzi. After a long day spent exploring the area, relaxing in the warm water was a true luxury. I will definitely return in the future! 👍

I've always been a bit nervous about doing an Air BnB but I shouldn't have worried. Communication was great. I had some questions about the home, got rub and local area and I always got a speedy response. The hot tub was a major plus. Really enhanced our stay and it was a huge hit. The weather certainly helped and there was everything we needed in the home if not more! I would potentially return here again. Thank you!

My partner and I had the best couple of nights away at Ash Bank. Great location, with only a short and cheap uber ride into the centre. The house was perfect, interior was incredible and Vanessa provided all the added extra touches to make it so homey. The hot tub in the garden is bonus too! Vanessa is a PERFECT host, fantastic communication and super thoughtful leaving a card and bottles for our anniversary. We will definitely be coming back to stay and making it a regular thing!

We had a wonderful stay at the stables! The space was exactly as described—clean, cozy and with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable visit. The location was perfect, close to everything but still quiet enough to relax. Communication with the host was seamless—they were friendly, responsive, and made sure we felt welcome from start to finish. I’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay!

We had a lovely stay. The house was spotless on arrival and the extras for breakfast were a really nice touch. The location on the canal was beautiful and we enjoyed the walk into Chester along the canal path. We visited both the Cheshire Cat and Ring O Bells in Christleton, both were a short walk from the cottage. The Sunday lunch at Ring O Bells was superb !! We would def recommend booking this airbnb for anyone visiting the area.

Lovely place which had everything we needed. We have an anxious and reactive dog but this place was just perfect. It was safe with a contained garden. Owners responsive and accommodating.

Just returned home from 4 nights stay at Ty Bedwen and couldn’t have asked for better. The lodge is surrounded by beautiful views and the hosts are kind, welcoming and informative. In the first night, Gareth invited our two children to help bottle feed his lambs which was unexpected but fantastic. He recommended the local farm shop which is amazing, the local milk store and pubs to try in the area. We ate at the Sun Inn and the Raven, both were lovely. We had drinks in the rose and crown which is about 0.5 mile walk from the lodge. The pub is very reasonable and the staff are really friendly. We had trips to Loggerheads park and climbed Moel Famau. We also did a day in Betws y coed which is about 50 mins away. Bala is worth a visit purely for the views in the drive down. Stunning! We would return to the lodge in a heartbeat. Thank you for being such fab hosts!

A serene, tranquil setting on a quiet country road. Beautifully appointed home; the photos don’t do it justice. So many things to do nearby and plenty of local pubs in the area. The beds and bedding are top quality and the kitchen has everything you need if you choose to stay in and cook. Highly recommend.

Excellent accommodation, exactly as described. Two well appointed bedrooms with powerful hot showers. We really appreciated the toys, tractor and box of Lego which kept our grandson busy for quite a few hours. Very welcoming hosts, and two lovely labradors who came to say hello. Only a short drive to Loggerheads Country Park for a great walk with lovely scenery.

Two night stay, during glorious weather, so we were able to make the most of the stunning location by the river. The house was spotless, with so many extras in the kitchen to make it home from home. Chris was in contact throughout our stay and was so helpful. The house is set over 3 floors. There are steps down to the ground floor(sun room) and the front of the house and then there are further steps down to the river. We travelled with an elderly parent with no mobility issues and they were doable. We hope to visit again in the future. Thanks Chris.

Trish was the perfect host, very welcoming and helpful. This cottage was the perfect base for a young family of 4 and more spacious than I expected. She provided a high chair and cot and the orange chair was heavy so served as an excellent stair gate. Although best to bring your own kids plates and cups. Would very happily recommend for a trip to Chester

A lovely and very comfortable little barn with great hosts. Excellent communication and flexibility: We booked on the day of arrival and Kim very quickly replied offering us early arrival should we wish. Very highly recommended.

We had a fabulous few days at Garth Mill. Dan messaged to give us location/check in details & we were also offered an early check in which was perfect. The house is even better than described - pristine and decorated with immaculate taste. The only think I feel would improve it is a larger fridge - but that’s a minor quibble. There is so much history to the house and it is great to see all the old photos dotted about. Dan checked to see we had arrived safely and to make sure we knew he was available for any questions. Would highly recommend!

Great little cottage with every amenity (washing machine, dishwasher USB sockets etc etc) you need for a very comfortable stay. Nice design too. The enclosed yard is handy for dog owners.

The cottage was well-equipped, characterful, and peaceful; truly a home away from home. It is situated in a quiet location within a beautiful area. There are great transport links. The property was spotless and had everything required for a cosy, comfortable stay. I had to leave early owing to a medical issue but I will definitely return. Matthew was a friendly and responsive host. Check-in was easy. All in all, a lovely home and host. I highly recommend. Thanks, Matthew!

Golly Farm is a superb quality place to stay! Mandy is an incredible host who communicates well and knows just how to make her guests feel welcome and at home. Her attention to detail is second to none and we loved the style and finishing touches. There’s a good selection of dvds and books and two pubs within a 40 minute walk along the lanes into Rossett. We ate at The Alyn and we’re served well by very friendly staff. We highly recommend Golly Farm if you’re thinking of visiting Chester and Alexander’s Live is a great little venue in Chester if you fancy an evening of live entertainment! Beautiful little cottage in a great location. Clean and tidy when we arrived and the chocolates on the bed were a lovely welcoming touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone looking to visit this area!
