“The apartment is perfectly situated in the centre of the charming village of Bivio, with the local supermarket just in front of the house and several restaurants nearby. We were welcomed very warmly and received useful tips for hiking trails in the region. Especially worth mentioning is the very well equipped kitchen (tea, coffee, kitchenware, etc.). We would definitely come back.”

“My wife and I agree that this is one of the best places we have stayed (and not only considering AirBNB listings). The accommodation is very tastefully designed and finished, and feels perfectly light, airy and spacious (more so than other properties we have stayed in within Switzerland). The setting and location (on a farm, in the heart of a farming community) makes for a really special stay. This is our second visit to this area, and it is becoming a favourite area of ours. We would come back to Romana and Paul's place in a heartbeat - it is good value and makes for a wonderful break from the city, especially when the weather is kind (as it was mostly very sunny when we stayed). We walked to nearby Andeer and back one day - the well signposted hiking route cross-country made for a good walk through the country. Andeer is the most busy village in the area and is very photogenic. It also has a handy, small supermarket. On another day, we stopped for a while by the 'lake' [where the Hinterrhein is dammed], resting on the 'beach' next to the Rofflaschlucht. Then we drove up to Lohn which is perched high above Donat and gives excellent views and is a very charming village to walk around - well worth visiting if you can get there. Donat itself is also a charming village, and our 10 year old son has become obsessed with cows given how many we met at close quarters during our stay. It is fun to see the Highland Cattle rubbing shoulders with other breeds on Paul and Romana's farm. This place is very highly recommended if you appreciate gentle getaways with unhurried ambles in some very scenic outdoors. Thank you Romana and Paul - we hope to return ...”
NOT ACTUALLY THE ENTIRE HOUSE. Please READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION and inquire if dates are available BEFORE making a request. We charge per person, not for the entire apartment, so unless your party is renting all three rooms in the guest apartment you MAY have to share the bathroom and kitchen/sitting room with other guests. In low season private facilities may be available. Please ask. Now with stronger WiFi!
“Being with Alistair and Bruno is like AirBnB was in the good old days - you are really a guest, taken into the lives of extraordinary people at an extraordinary place (btw: with seeing marmots from the window!). You have to be prepared for and like that, but if you do (as I did), it is great. Not at all a hotel, but Alistair is really a super-host, open, friendly, warm, communicative, a good cook if you need, and ready to help with good hints. This was a wonderful day! (And have you seen Bruno's artwork of a model railway? Impressive!)”
