A terraced house in a lovely quiet area, the date on the deeds for this house is Valentine's day 1916, yes it is 103 years old, completely refurbished in 1986 and again in 2019/2020. It's brand new with a great history. It is 2 mins from the motorway and a 5-minute walk to the center of town. Most houses here are occupied by full-time workers or older families so the terrace is very quiet day and night. 3 bedrooms upstairs with kitchen, sitting room and bathroom downstairs. You will love it.
“Lovely, clean and modern terrace property and our host William (Willie) was superb - met us on arrival and had the house ready with items like fresh milk for tea and coffee and heating on etc. Willie also gave us great advice on places to eat and drink, and a key feature of this property is its close proximity to the town centre - a five minute walk and you are in the hub of the town. Highly recommended all round.”
Our home is in a quiet estate at the edge of Athlone - just 5 minutes drive into town or to the lovely village of Glasson, boasting award winning restaurants, golfing and many activities on the picturesque lake.
“Ava was welcoming and responded very quickly if we had any questions. Very clean and easy to find. Would definitely recommend staying here!”
Our most spacious and unique room at The Bastion. There is a double bed, a single bed and we can make up a single futon. Max capacity is 4 in this room. Breakfast is not included but it's available right next door at The Bastion Kitchen. Free WiFi. Ensuite bathroom.
“This is the place to stay in Athlone! Location is perfect, just around the corner from Athlone Castle and Sean’s Bar and a 10-15 min walk from the train station. Anthony and Vinny were great hosts, available for questions when needed. The room (and the B&B in general) has so much character, which is what makes it a wonderful alternative to a standard hotel. The room was incredibly clean and inviting and so spacious. I would absolutely without hesitation stay here again the next time I’m in Athlone.”
