We welcome you to stay in our home. It is bright and spacious being recently built on my parents' farm in the heart of the Irish countryside. Guests have access a private bedroom & bathroom, and also to the kitchen/diner, living room & outside spaces. We are centrally located, 1 hour+ drive from Dublin and Waterford, central between Kilkenny, Portlaoise and Carlow. Very near Abbeyleix, Ballinakill, Castlecomer and Castle Durrow. Perfect for exploring or to stay when attending weddings locally.
“The Anne house is a beautiful country house in a quiet area and although a little remote, it has a great charm and surrounded by nature and beautiful landscapes, it has a very good location to visit the area. The house is renovated, the room and bathroom are spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. Anne was awaiting our arrival and indicating the best way to arrive. She is a great hostess who makes you feel at home, provided us with a warm welcome and provided us with information on places to visit. In the morning we had prepared a delicious breakfast in their beautiful kitchen. The experience has been very satisfactory, it is highly recommended. If we return we will repeat without hesitation the stay in Anne's house!”
Beautiful, newly decorated en-suite double bedroom in a family country home in the heart of Ireland. Ideally located 2km from the heritage town of Abbeyleix which boasts several vibrant cafes, a restaurant and takeaways and several popular bars, including the famous 'Morrisseys' and within an easy drive of Dublin (1h), Kilkenny (30mins) and Carlow (30mins).
“Elizabeth is a very thoughtful host and provided a lovely room with en-suite shower and a DIY breakfast from a wide range of cereals, bread and preserves. She gave us keys and we were able to come and go as we liked. We shared the kitchen and dining room which is a large open and light space.”
The house is situated in a woodland demesne with a beautiful lake opposite the house. There are beautiful woodland walks surrounding the demesne with lutyens italian gardens less than 1km walk from our house. The decor is a unique mix of old and new repurposed furniture. My husband loves to bake scones, bread and buns so a warm welcome awaits. There are rescue animals on the premises, if animals are not your preference this is not the place to stay. “I was playing at a wedding in Castle Durrow (about ten minutes away). Julie-Anne was a great host: I felt very welcome, comfortable, and at ease in their lovely home.”
