My place on the Wild Atlantic Way close to Louisburgh, it has 270 views to the islands and sunsets on the edge of the Atlantic, and to Croagh Patrick. It is by the beach, has a fresh spring water pond and all mod cons including wifi. Sleep with the sound of waves crashing to shore. Wake and climb mountains, trek or spend time fishing, swimming or surfing. Wind down in the evening by the fire or in the pubs and restaurants in Louisburgh. Or stay in with the fire, Apple TV, WII and boardgames.
“A tired family took a quick break one hours drive from our own home which wasn't too pressing. We obviously know louisburgh and surrounding areas fairly well. However we were awe struck by the special views from Jane's place. Constantly changing sky line , ocean line, islands emerging and disappearing every hour! Jane's place has a really pleasant atmosphere . We didn't venture too far. We quickly established a simple routine of greeting the boats in the harbour. Throwing rocks in the ocean , watching family movies on netflix and eating lots of treats ! This wee break was just what the doctor ordered. This was our first air bnb experience. I am nicely converted. We hope to return to Jane's place in the spring if she'll have us Thanks”
Nestled between the mountains and the sea, Trá na Rón(the seals beach) is the perfect spot for a coastal escape on the beautiful, picturesque Wild Atlanic Way on Achill Island. This immaculate and perfectly appointed cosy house over-looking the sea is fantastic for a cycling-break, walking weekend or a romantic couples retreat.
“Ciaran & Mary Ellen's cottage was just perfect. Fantastic location, beautiful scenery. The cottage itself was cosy and had everything you could need. The hosts were friendly, helpful and thoughtful, we couldn't have asked for more! Would highly recommend staying here for a rural retreat.”
Nestled upstairs in our farmhouse, this cosy, private room has a double bed where you are guaranteed a good nights sleep with shared access to an upstairs bathroom and kitchen. Our farmhouse is set in the centre of our quiet and peaceful 10 hectare farm with panoramic views of the mountains and sea. Breakfast cereals, juice, milk, bread with tea & coffee is provided also fresh farm produce from our garden when in season. We are just off the Wild Atlantic Way with a short walk to the sea.
“Your stay at Mary's place starts off with well described directions to their wonderful home. Mary and her family are hearty and welcoming and their home in clean and well equipped. The views of Achill island from their home and the surroundings areas is mind blowing. We loved our time at the national park, and our drive to Achill island. Speak to Mary about your travel plans. She's a treasure trove of information and has great suggestions! We loved our 2 night stay at Mary's place and would definitely love to return some day. Would highly recommend!”
